The structural variation of multicompartment micelles is investigated using a dissipative particle dynamics simulation method for nano-reactor application. It turns out that well-defined multicompartment micelles with channel structures can be generated through the self-assembly of triblock copolymers consisting of a hydrophilic (A), a lipophilic (B), and a fluorophobic (C) block arranged in a B–A–C sequence: The corona and core are formed by the hydrophilic A block and the fluorophilic C block, respectively while the channel between the aqueous phase and core is formed by the lipophilic B block and the core. By performing a set of simulations, it is confirmed that channel size can be controlled as a function of the block length ratios between blocks A and B. Furthermore, it is also confirmed that the reactants pass through such channels to reach the micelle core by analyzing the pair correlation functions. By monitoring the change of the number of reactants in the multicompartment micelle, it is revealed that the diffusion of reactants into the core is slowed down as the concentration gradient is decreased. This work provides mesoscopic insight for the formation of multicompartment micelles and transport of reactants for use in the design of micelles as nanoreactors.The structural variation of multicompartment micelles is investigated using a dissipative particle dynamics simulation method for nano-reactor application. 相似文献

(1) Background: Breastfeeding duration may be reduced in women with type 2 diabetes. Delayed secretory activation (SA) is associated with poorer breastfeeding outcomes; however, no prior studies have examined SA in women with type 2 diabetes. This pilot study aimed to assess SA in women with type 2 diabetes by assessing breastmilk constituents. Secondary aims were to assess breastfeeding rates postpartum, and contributory factors. (2) Methods: A prospective cohort of pregnant women with type 2 diabetes (n = 18) and two control groups with age- and parity-matched nondiabetic pregnant women (body mass index (BMI)) matched (n = 18) or normal-range BMI (n = 18)) were recruited. Breastmilk constituents (citrate, lactose, protein, and fat) were measured twice daily for 5 days postpartum and compared between groups. Associations between peripartum variables, breastmilk constituents, and breastfeeding at 4 months postpartum were explored. (3) Results: Women with type 2 diabetes had a slower increase in breastmilk citrate concentration postpartum, indicative of delayed SA, compared to both control groups. Higher predelivery insulin doses in women with type 2 diabetes were associated with increasing time to SA. Both women with type 2 diabetes and BMI-matched controls were less likely to fully breastfeed at 4 months, compared with normal-BMI controls. (4) Conclusion: SA is delayed in women with type 2 diabetes when compared to BMI-matched and normal-BMI women. Women with type 2 diabetes are less likely to fully breastfeed, at hospital discharge and by 4 months postpartum, compared to women with normal-BMI. 相似文献

BACKGROUND: Elevated coronary perfusion pressure (CPP) during CPR is associated with return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC). We compared CPP achieved with three methods of chest compression: manual (MAN), mechanical (MECH) and high-impulse mechanical (HI) in a porcine model of prolonged ventricular fibrillation (VF). We hypothesized that HI (very rapid acceleration of the down-stroke) would produce greater CPPs than MAN or MECH, and that HI would also produce a higher rate of ROSC. METHODS: Twenty-eight domestic swine (mean 27.8 kg) were randomly assigned to three methods of chest compression. Animals were instrumented under anesthesia, and VF was induced and untreated for 8 min. After 2 min of CPR, epinephrine (adrenaline) (0. 1 mg/kg), vasopressin (40 U) and propranolol (1.0 mg) were administered. CPR continued for three more minutes, after which up to three rescue shocks were delivered. CPP was determined in an automated fashion by measuring the difference between aortic and right atrial pressures 0.1s prior to the down-stroke of each compression (i.e. end-relaxation). ROSC was defined as a systolic pressure greater than 80 mmHg sustained for at least 1 min. We analyzed CPP and ROSC using repeated measures ANOVA and Fisher's exact test. RESULTS: Over the 5 min of CPR, CPP increased more with HI compression than with MAN compression (p=0.017). ROSC was attained in 4/9 MAN, 6/9 MECH and 10/10 HI (HI versus MAN p=0.01). CONCLUSIONS: Over the course of CPR, HI compression increased CPP more than MAN compression. HI compression produced a significantly higher rate of ROSC than MAN, but not MECH compression. 相似文献

The oral microbiota can contribute to the regulation of blood pressure by increasing the availability of nitric oxide through the reduction of nitrate to nitrite, which can be converted into nitric oxide in the stomach and then enter the circulation. It is unclear if the composition of the oral microbiota is different between women who do and do not develop preeclampsia. This study aimed to compare the composition of the buccal microbiota just prior to the development of symptoms at 36 weeks gestation in 12 women who developed late-onset preeclampsia and 24 matched women who remained normotensive throughout pregnancy by 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing. The abundance of the nitrate-reducing Veillonella spp V. parvula and V. dispar and a subunit of nitrate reductase narH was compared using real-time PCR. The abundance of bacteria was correlated with maternal blood pressure and dietary intake of nitrate-containing vegetables. The results showed that the abundance of nitrate-reducing bacteria including Veillonella, specifically V. parvula, and Prevotella was reduced in women who developed preeclampsia. Veillonella but not Prevotella abundance was negatively correlated with maternal blood pressure. The dietary intake of nitrate-containing vegetables did not differ between the groups and was not correlated with the abundance of Veillonella. There was no difference in the abundance of the nitrate reductase subunit narH between the groups. These results suggest that the abundance of nitrate-reducing bacteria is reduced in the oral microbiota of women who later develop preeclampsia, indicating a potential pathway for prevention. 相似文献

A monoclonal antibody to the molluscan small cardioactive peptide SCPB and a polyclonal antibody to FMRFamide were used to localize antigens in the stomatogastric nervous system and brain of two species of Cancer. Both antibodies labeled cell bodies, axons, and neuropilar processes in the brain and in the stomatogastric nervous system. All of the SCPB immunoreactive neurons were co-labeled with antibody to FMRFamide.
