Clinical controlled study of integrative Chinese and western medicine in treating 49 cases of SARS

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of integrative Chinese and western medicine(ICWM)in treating severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS)patients.Methods:Through parallel control design,49 SARS patients were observed.Used as control,there were in the western medicine(WM)group 29 pa-tients,who were treated with Ribavirin,Levofloxacin,Thymopentin,Azithromycin,methylprednisolone,etc.,on the basis of“Recommended Protocol for Infectious Atypical Pneumonia”(abbreviated as“Recom-mended Protocol”)issueed by Ministry of Health.As the treated group,there were in the ICWM 20 ca-ses.The protocol for treatment of SARS in“Special Science and Technological Action to Prevent andTreats SARS”(abbreviated as“Special S-T Action”),issued by Ministry of Science and Technology,to-gether with the same WM as those for the control group.Results:(1)Time from the disease onset to thesymptom improvement were 5.10±2.83 days and7.62±2.27 days ICWM and WM group respectively,P<0.05;(2)As to corticosteroid(CS)amount and days bef

Relationship between high-sensitivity C-reactive protein level and angiographical characteristics of coronary atherosclerosis

A role for inflammation has become well established over the past decade or more in theories describing the atherosclerotic disease process. From a pathological viewpoint, all stages, ie, initiation, growth, and complication of the atherosclerotic plaque, might be considered to be an inflammatory response to injury. Several prospective studies recently showed that plasma high sensitivity C-reactive protein （hsCRP） levels, which are one of the markers of systemic inflammation, are a powerful predictor of future myocardial infarction and cardiac death among apparently healthy individuals. However, the association between the plasma hsCRP levels and the extent of coronary stenosis in subjects remains controversial. Some studies previously demonstrated such associations, whereas other could not found. Gensini＇s score assigns a severity score for a stenosed vessel depending on the degree of luminal narrowing and the importance of its location.

Effects and mechanism of platelet-rich plasma on military drill injury:A review

Military drill injury is a significant part of military medical research.The increase of training intensity and changes in training methods lead to differences in injury types.The ideal therapeutic modality should allow rapid healing at a reasonable cost and minimize impact on patients' life.Platelet-rich plasma (PRP),a platelet concentrate,is rich in a variety of growth factors and widely used clinically as a minimally invasive treatment.It plays an important role in injury repair and rehabilitation.In this article,we review the therapeutic role of PRP in military drill injury and its possible underlying mechanisms,with a focus on plantar fasciitis,stress fractures and other common injuries,in order to provide basic support for military reserve.     

Coronary artery bypass grafting with concomitant resection for carcinoma of lung

A 69-year-old woman with angina had a lesion in the left lower lobe on chest film. Angiography revealed coronary artery disease in three vessels. Combined off pump coronary artery bypass grafting （CABG） and left lower lobectomy were performed through median sternotomy. This approach avoids complications due to staged operations and cardiopulmonary bypass （CPB）. This report shows that simultaneous off pump CABG and pulmonary operations can be performed safely in patients with coronary artery disease （CAD） associated with lung cancer.     

囊虫病免疫学诊断的研究

以本室部分提纯的P_1为抗原时,不论对各组患者的血清或脑型患者的脑脊液其间接酶标试验的阳性率均高于粗抗原者。又患者血清(或脑脊液)O.D值与平均正常人血清(或对照组脑脊液)O.D值的比值是表示特异免疫反应强度的指标。以P_1为抗原时,各组患者的血清和脑型患者的脑脊液的平均比值均高于粗抗原者,其差别均有显著性。     

肺吸虫病及其防治

肺吸虫病是我国常见多发的寄生虫病之一,目前在全国已有20个省、市发现有本病存在,严重地危害劳动人民的踺康,影响生产。一、什么是肺吸虫:肺吸虫病是由肺吸虫引起的疾病。肺吸虫的大小象半粒花生米,腹部较平,生活时颜色呈朱红色。腹面前端有两个吸盘,称为口吸盘和腹吸盘。因为它常寄生在肺脏内,所以一般就称它为肺吸虫,其实它也可以寄生在人体的其他部位如脑、皮下、腹腔等处。肺吸虫是雌雄同体,在同一条虫子身上,既有睾丸,又有卵巢和子宫。由于肺吸虫的睾丸是并列的,因此生物学上又称它为并殖吸虫。
