Salmus is a product of Salvia sclarea technology that is widely used in balneary practice. It is established that the analytical characteristics of salmus substance, as stipulated in the temporal pharmacopoeial article VFS 42-1530-85, are not objective and should not be used for evaluating the quality of the ready-to-use preparation and for monitoring the process of its manufacturing. TLC data show that salmus contains all components of sage oil (Russian State Standard GOST 3171-76) except for linalyl acetate. Qualitative specific color reactions on Silufol TLC plates showed for the first time the presence of flavonoids such as kaempferol, quercetin, juglanin, quercitrin, and rungioside and revealed one previously unknown substance, probably, of a flavonoid nature. The TLC data also showed the presence of condensed tannins and chlorophylls. It is suggested to perform quantitative analysis and identification of biologically active substances in salmus using methods for determining the content of reducing sugars (carbohydrates) and oxidizable components. New procedures for determining the sum of essential oils and flavonoids using the total content of extractable components have been developed and verified. In 50 children, 4 months to 12 years of age, with minor head trauma non-target visual event-related potentials were performed and compared to a second registration of the potentials some months later. On following-up there was a clear tendency for a relative improvement of the latencies of the endogenous potentials. In this way non-target visual event-related potentials proved to be of value in the investigation of mental impairment in early childhood.  相似文献

Trypsin and Zymosan induce an increase in respiration activity of cultivated endothelial cells. These effects are not due to the production of oxygen radicals. The effect of trypsin will be explained by interfering with the cellular homeostasis of calcium. Conformationally restricted analogues of the selective partial muscarinic agonist N-methyl-N-(1-methyl-4-pyrrolidino-2-butynyl)acetamide (BM 5; 2) were synthesized. The compounds were tested for muscarinic and antimuscarinic activity in the isolated guinea pig ileum and in intact mice. They were found to be moderately potent muscarinic antagonists or weak partial agonists. The new compounds were less potent than 2 in inhibiting (-)-[3H]-N-methylscopolamine binding in the rate cerebral cortex. Thus, structural modifications of 2 in which part of the amide moiety has been connected with the methyl group in the butynyl chain to form a five-membered ring decrease affinity and in most cases abolish efficacy.  相似文献

We describe an improved synthesis and properties of fluphenazine-mustard, a potent phenothiazine having an alkylating chlorethylamine chain in its structure. The drug possesses anticalmodulin activity equivalent to the parent compound, but unlike fluphenazine dihydrochloride, the mustard derivative irreversibly antagonizes the ability of calmodulin to activate cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase. This property is partially calcium-dependent and can be overcome by coincubation with excess fluphenazine dihydrochloride. The compound irreversibly inactivated calmodulin when incubated with intact cells and caused single-stranded breakage of DNA. Fluphenazine-mustard possesses potent antiproliferative and cytotoxic properties against malignant cell lines that are likely to be mediated through both of these actions.  相似文献

Exercise and work potential of a patient with coexistent myophosphorylase and myoadenylate deaminase (AMPDA) deficiency was compared with that of three patients with myophosphorylase deficiency alone. The patient with the combined defect failed to produce an abnormal rise in serum ammonia or hypoxanthine as seen in the other patients after forearm exercise. Maximum oxygen consumption and work rates during cycle ergometer testing were similar in all patients, but well below controls. The occurrence of two defects involving short-term energy metabolism in muscle presents an opportunity to define further the metabolic role of AMPDA.  相似文献

The duodenal contents were examined in 81 patients with gastroduodenal ulcer. Bile acid concentrations, alkaline phosphatase activity, and sodium ion concentration were measured for the detection of duodenogastric reflux. Measurements of sodium ion concentration permitted estimation of the immediate volume of the duodenogastric reflux in the gastric contents. No methods for duodenogastric reflux detection should be given preference in examinations of peptic ulcer patients. Multiple-modality studies appear to be the most effective.  相似文献

The analysis of vestibular responses in a comatose patient often provides the critical information for making a correct preliminary diagnosis and directing the subsequent laboratory evaluation. Because of some uncertainties about what is being tested with the various bedside maneuvers that are used to elicit vestibular responses, we review the physiologic basis for the oculomotor responses that occur with head rotation or with caloric stimuli. We further urge precise and unambiguous terminology to describe both stimulus and response. We suggest using physiologically well-defined terms such as vestibulo-ocular reflex and cervico-ocular reflex and avoiding potentially misleading terms such as the doll's head and the oculocephalic maneuvers.  相似文献
