Akinetic Mutism and Cognitive-Affective Syndrome Caused by Unilateral PICA Infarction

A 42-year-old man with left posterior inferior cerebellar artery (PICA) infarction presented with akinetic mutism and cognitive impairment. Initially he suffered from akinetic mutism and MRI-documented infarction in the distribution of the left PICA. Twelve days later he developed cognitive impairment. Neuropsychological tests were performed, with the results corrected for age and education being compared with published Korean norms. Impaired performances were evident on executive function testing, with difficulties in planning, abstract reasoning, set-shifting, and perseveration. Akinetic mutism and cognitive-affective syndrome may be a manifestation of unilateral PICA infarction.     

Solitary Small Hepatic Angiosarcoma: Initial and Follow-up Imaging Findings

We report an uncommon case of solitary, small hepatic angiosarcoma that was initially considered as a hemangioma. We present the imaging findings, with an emphasis on the initial and follow-up CT and MR findings, as well as report on the more suggestive findings of angiosarcoma than those of a hemangioma.     

冷冻食品中损伤大肠菌群的修复探讨

目的：为了准确测定冷冻食品中大肠菌群含量。避免对冷冻损伤大肠菌群的漏检。方法：应用营养物质丰富的营养肉汤，对冷冻损伤的大肠菌群在接触选择性培养基前在37℃孵育2h。结果：营养肉汤在37℃孵育冷冻损伤大肠菌群2h后，选择性平皿上菌落数与非选择性平皿上菌落数相当，细菌未发生显著繁殖；在实际样品应用试验中，提高了大肠菌群阳性样品的检出率。结论：应用营养肉汤37℃孵育冷冻损伤大肠菌群2h，可使其得到良好的修复，此修复过程是对常规检测大肠菌群方法的改进和完善。     

Dislocation of an upper third molar into the maxillary sinus after a severe trauma: a case report

Abstract – Dental injuries are common following facial trauma. This article presents a rare injury: the dislocation of a third molar into the maxillary sinus after complex mandibular and maxillary tuberosity fractures. The possible mechanism and clinical treatment are discussed.     

沙棘汁对致癌物N-二甲基亚硝胺(NDMA)在大鼠体内合成及诱癌的阻断与防护作用

在饲料中加入氨基比林和NaNO_2各2g/kg饲与Wistar大鼠38周后诱发出肝、肺及肾脏肿瘤,其中以肝肿瘤的发生率为100％(17/17),大鼠平均寿命195天。而同时给予沙棘汁饮用的大鼠其肿瘤发生较晚,发癌率较低(88％,15/17),平均寿命270天,显著长于对照组和单纯抗坏血酸组(P<0.01),且肝脏癌变范围较小,病变较轻。结果表明,沙棘汁能有效地阻断N-亚硝基化合物在大鼠体内合成及诱癌,其防癌效果优于等量的抗坏血酸。     

Alpha-tocopherol and beta-carotene do not protect marmosets against the dopaminergic neurotoxicity of N-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine

Idiopathic Parkinson's disease (PD) may possibly be caused by one or more unidentified neurotoxins present in the environment, or formed endogenously, which progressively damage dopaminergic nigrostriatal neurons. N-Methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP) is an experimental neurotoxin which produces biochemical and neuropathological changes in humans, lower primates and mice that closely resemble those found in PD. Because the mechanisms of neuronal damage in both idiopathic PD and in the MPTP model of PD may involve free radical formation in the substantia nigra, antioxidants might protect dopaminergic neurons. Previously, we found that both alpha-tocopherol and beta-carotene partially protected mice against MPTP. However, in the experiments described in this paper, neither alpha-tocopherol nor beta-carotene, each administered in massive doses, had any demonstrable protective effect for dopaminergic nigrostriatal neurons in marmosets injected with low doses of MPTP. Without more knowledge about the identity of the neurotoxin(s) causing idiopathic PD, and their mechanism of action, it is not possible at this time to predict whether these 2 antioxidants might be clinically useful in preventing or ameliorating PD.

抑郁症焦虑症状和焦虑症的抑郁症状

目的　探讨抑郁症和焦虑症的抑郁和焦虑症状的差异 ,为鉴别诊断提供依据。方法　使用HAMD和HAMA对5 5例抑郁症患者和 2 0例焦虑症患者进行评定。结果　 (1)抑郁症组绝大部分为中、重度抑郁 (92 .7% ) ,焦虑症组无一例为重度抑郁 ;(2 )抑郁症组的HAMD总分和除焦虑 /躯体化以外的因子分均显著高于焦虑症组 (P <0 .0 5或P <0 .0 1) ,(3)抑郁症患者和焦虑症患者的HAMD和HAMA评分均呈显著性正相关 (P <0 .0 0 1)。结论　HAMD总分有助于鉴别抑郁症和焦虑症。
