Polyhydroxyethylmethacrylate (PHEMA) beads were prepared by phase separation polymerization. Hydroxyl groups on PHEMA beads were activated with CNBr at alkaline pH. Adsorption of heparin, blood proteins (i.e. albumin, fibrinogen and gamma-globulin), protein A, HIgG and DNA on these beads were studied. Preparation and activation procedures are given here. This paper presents a sequential Bayesian approach to kernel modelling of data, which contain unusual observations and outliers. The noise is heavy tailed described as a one-dimensional mixture distribution of Gaussians. The development uses a factorised variational approximation to the posterior of all unknowns, that helps to perform tractable Bayesian inference at two levels: (1) sequential estimation of the weights distribution (including its mean vector and covariance matrix); and (2) recursive updating of the noise distribution and batch evaluation of the weights prior distribution. These steps are repeated, and the free parameters of the non-Gaussian error distribution are adapted at the end of each cycle. The reported results show that this is a robust approach that can outperform standard methods in regression and time-series forecasting.  相似文献

Two-dimensional nanomaterials such as graphene can provide various functional properties to textiles, which have great potential in sportswear, healthcare etc. In this study, the properties of nylon and cotton-based electronic textiles coated with reduced graphene oxide are investigated. After reduction of graphene oxide coating in hydrazine vapor, e-textiles with a resistance of ~350 Ω/sq for nylon, and ~1 kΩ/sq for cotton were obtained. Cyclic mechanical bending tests of samples showed that the resistance increases during bending up to 10–20%. The use of bovine serum albumin as an adhesive layer improved the wash stability for samples with nylon up to 40 washing cycles. The use of BF-6 glue as a protective layer reduced changes in resistance during bending, and improved wash stability of cotton samples. It was shown that the resistance of the obtained samples is sensitive to changes in temperature and humidity. In addition, obtained e-textiles attached to a person’s wrist were able to measure heart rate. Thus, the obtained electronic textiles based on cotton and nylon coated with reduced graphene oxide demonstrates good characteristics for use as sensors for monitoring vital signs.  相似文献

Lipophosphoglycan (LPG) glycoconjugates from promastigotes of Leishmania were not able to induce the expression of the cytokine-inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) by the murine macrophage cell line, J774. However, they synergize with interferon gamma to stimulate the macrophages to express high levels of iNOS. This synergistic effect was critically time-dependent. Preincubation of J774 cells with the LPG glycans 4-18 h before stimulation with interferon gamma resulted in a significant reduction in the expression of iNOS mRNA and of NO synthesis, compared with cells preincubated with culture medium alone. The regulatory effect on the induction of iNOS by LPG is located in the LPG phosphoglycan disaccharide backbone. Synthetic fragments of this backbone had a similar regulatory effect on NO synthesis. Further, the production of NO by activated macrophages in the present system was correlated directly with the leishmanicidal capacity of the cells. These data therefore demonstrate that LPG glycoconjugates have a profound effect on the survival of Leishmania parasites through their ability to regulate the expression of iNOS by macrophages.  相似文献
