Die Osteosynthese mit dem Winkelnagel für die per- und subtrochantere Oberschenkelfraktur

Zusammenfassung Der 1965 in die Therapie eingeführte Winkelnagel für die Osteosynthese per- und subtrochanterer Oberschenkelfrakturen eignet sich für alle Frakturformen. Die Eingriffe sind leicht durchführbar und gew?hrleisten eine belastungsstabile Osteosynthese. Im Verlauf von rund 3^1/2 Jahren wurden unter 322 Patienten 117 konservativ und 205 mit einer Winkelnagel-Osteosynthese behandelt. Bei einem Drittel der Operierten wurde zus?tzlich eine Drahtumschlingung verwendet. Die durchgeführte Nachuntersuchung der Patienten ergab überraschend gute Ergebnisse, so da? wir dieses Verfahren für eine breitere Anwendung empfehlen m?chten.

Summary The angular nail, introduced into therapy for synostosis of per- and subtrochantary femur fractures in 1965, is appropriate for all kinds of fractures. The ingressions are easily performable and guarantee weight bearing synostosis. In the course of three and a half years out of a number of 322 patients 117 were treated conservatively and 205 by angular nail synostosis. In a third of those operated, wire cercling was additionally applied. The late controls of the patients showed surprisingly good results, so that we should like to recommend the method for broader application.

     

Kybernetische Probleme der Arbeitsmedizin

Zusammenfassung In der vorliegenden Arbeit wurde das zum Thema Kybernetik des adrenalen Regelkreises unter körperlicher Belastung vorhandene Schrifttum zusammengestellt. Nach einer Diskussion der Literaturergebnisse wurde versucht, diese unter regeltechnischen Aspekten zu ordnen und anhand der von den einzelnen Autoren gewonnenen Resultate eine Arbeitshypothese für weitere experimentelle Forschungen auf diesem Gebiet aufzustellen.D29.     

Dickdarmdiagnostik chirurgischer Erkrankungen mit wasserlöslichen trijodierten Kontrastmitteln

Zusammenfassung Bei speziellen Indikationen und Notfallsituationen der Dickdarm-Chirurgie ist eine Diagnostik mit bariumsulfathaltigen Kontrastmitteln nicht möglich. Hier können mit gutem Erfolg ersatzweise trijodierte, wasserlösliche Kontrastmittel Verwendung finden. Sie werden auch bei Perforationen und Austritt aus dem Darm in die freie Bauchhöhle resorbiert und ermöglichen Diagnosen mit mäßig eingeschränkter Qualität gegenüber bariumsulfathaltigen Kontrastmitteln. Bei Doppelkontrastuntersuchungen in Anlehnung an die Malmö-Technik ist die Oberflächendetailerkennbarkeit als ausreichend zu bezeichnen. Vor- und Nachteile sowie Indikationen sind in Tabellenform aufgelistet. Beispieldokumentation vervollständigen das Ergebniskapitel.

Emergency colon diagnosis by water-soluble contrast enemas

Summary When surgery of the colon must be carried out for special indications and emergencies, it is not possible to make diagnosis with Ba SO₄ contrast mediums. In these cases, reasonable success can be expected with substitution of three-iodized water-soluble contrast enemas. Through perforations and discharge from the colon they are absorbed into the free peritoneal cavity and enable diagnoses which are nearly comparable in quality to those done with Ba SO₄ contrast mediums. In double contrast radiography according to the Malmö technique recognition of surface detail can be considered sufficient. Advantages and disadvantages as well as indications are listed in table form. Examples are documented to complete the chapter on results.

Summary Investigations at the University Dental Clinic of Graz showed that the hinge axis of the temporomandibular joint in the growing individual can be altered by orthodontic treatment. One case treated for nine months with a Bionator showed a shifting of the hinge axis of this joint 2 mm forward and downward. A group of 60 patients treated with removable, fixed and combined appliances, all of them at least half a year out of treatment, had been investigated by a functional occlusion analysis using theKrough-Poulsen method with aStuart pantograph and articulator. Most of the cases showed occlusal irregularities, especially in the retruded positions. 58 out of 60 patients had some kind of occlusal interferences, 17 having joint- and 35 muscle symptoms.

Résumé Des examens faits chez des enfants à la Clinique de Stomatologie de l'Université de Graz, ont montré que l'axe charnière de l'articulation temporo-mandibulaire peut être altéré par un traitement orthodontique. Un cas traité pendant neuf mois avec un Bionator a montré un déplacement de l'axe charnière de 2 mm en avant et en bas. Un groupe de 60 patients traités avec des appareils amovibles, fixes ou combinés ont été examinés au moins six mois après la fin du traitement au moyen d'une analyse fonctionnelle de l'occlusion avec le test deKrough-Poulsen et avec le pantographe et l'articulateur deStuart. Dans la plupart des cas, on a constaté des irrégularités d'occlusion spécialement en position de relation centrée.58 des 60 enfants ont eu toutes sortes de mauvais contacts occlusaux, 17 des symptômes articulaires et 35 des symptômes musculaires.

Genetic and environmental influences on sensory gating of mid-latency auditory evoked responses: a twin study

A deficit in sensory gating measured by the suppression of P50 auditory event-related potential (ERP) has been implicated in the biological bases of schizophrenia and some other psychiatric disorders and proposed as a candidate endophenotype for genetic studies. More recently, it has been shown that gating deficits in schizophrenics extend to ERP components reflecting early attentive processing (the N1/P2 complex). However, evidence for heritability of sensory gating in the general population is very limited. Heritability of P50, N1, and P2 amplitudes and gating was estimated in 54 monozygotic and 55 dizygotic twin pairs using a dual-click auditory paradigm. Genetic model-fitting analysis showed high heritability of peak amplitudes of P50, N1, and P2 waves. Genetic influences on P50 gating (S2/S1) were modest, while heritability of N1 and P2 gating was high and significant. The alternative gating measure (S1-S2 difference) showed significant heritability for all three ERP components. Weak genetic influences on P50 gating ratio can be related to its poor test-retest reliability demonstrated in previous studies. These results suggest that gating measures derived from the N1/P2 wave complex may be useful endophenotypes for population-based genetic studies of the sensory gating function and its impairments in psychopathology.
