STYLOID PROCESS SYNDROME LENGTFI AND PALPATION OF THE STYLOLD PROCESS

In 1980, 267 patients with related symp- toms were examined by tomography in our hos- pital. Among them the styloid process (SP) of 128 cases were 30 mm or more in length. Pha- ryngeal palpation was performed in 98. The SPs of 61 patients were palpable and tender. Diagno- sis was based on the related symptoms, tomogra- phy, positive pharyngeal palpation and SP tender- ness. Tomography showed that the longest SP was 75 mm, while the longest one with symptoms was 65 mm. The medial angulations of the SPs were from 100 t0 27° and the anterior angulations from 300 t0 50°.     

Cathodes for fuel cells using proton-conducting Li2SO4–Al2O3 electrolyte

The performances of three widely different cathode materials (Pt, strontium-doped lanthanum manganite (LSM), and NiO) have been compared for use with proton conducting Li₂SO₄–Al₂O₃ composite electrolyte, using H₂S–air and H₂–air fuel cells operating at 600 °C. Surface analysis and electrochemical techniques were used to characterize fresh and used electrode materials. Pt or LSM cathodes each became covered with Li₂SO₄ and Al₂O₃ and, as a consequence, the fuel cells showed poor performance. In contrast, the NiO cathode catalyst did not become covered with Li₂SO₄ and good fuel cell performance was achieved. Exceptionally good current densities of over 100 mA/cm² and power densities of over 30 mW/cm² were obtained for H₂S–air fuel cells having Mo–Ni–S anode catalysts. Slight agglomeration of NiO particles during fuel cell operation had only a minor effect on performance.     

高血压家系802人的高血压患病率、知晓率、治疗和控制状况调查

目的了解高血压家系人群高血压患病率、治疗率和控制率特点。方法用整群随机抽样调查的方法调查高血压家系高血压的流行和控制情况，分析比较相关指标的差异。结果家系成员高血压患病率为55．86％，存在危险因素聚集现象。高血压的知晓率、治疗率、控制率分别为79．46％、62．72％、19．64％。结论该地区高血压家系高血压患病率较高，遗传因素是重要原因。虽高血压控制水平较高，但需加强高血压的一级预防。     

bFGF-Math1基因诱导UEC-4细胞产生毛细胞的实验研究

目的进一步探讨bFGF-Math1基因在前庭上皮细胞系(UEC-4)细胞中的表达及生物学作用.方法利用阳离子脂质体LipofectamineTM2000介导bFGF-Math1基因真核表达质粒(pCI-bFGF-Math1)转染UEC-4细胞,利用RT-PCR技术检测基因在细胞中的表达,并利用免疫组织化学方法观察细胞的分化及特异性抗体的表达.结果脂质体介导的基因可在细胞内获得良好的表达,转染后24h,相差显微镜下观察细胞形态发生变化,免疫组织化学显示转染后细胞可以表达毛细胞特异性蛋白Myosin7a.结论bFGF-Math1基因有良好的生物学特性,可以有效地诱导支持细胞向毛细胞样细胞转变.     

彩色多普勒组织显像对川崎病心肌病变的诊断价值

应用彩色多普勒组织显像(DTI)比较观察10例川畸病(KD)患儿与143例正常儿童二尖半环、左室壁及心内膜不同时相运动速度的变化.结果显示10例KD患儿的二尖半环舒张早期运动速度(MVR-DeV)明显降低,与对照组比较有显著差异,同时KD患儿M VR-DeV的异常率显著高于DTI的其它检查指标.     

Vasonatrin peptide: a unique synthetic natriuretic and vasorelaxing peptide.

This study reports the cardiovascular and renal actions of a novel and newly synthesized 27-amino acid peptide termed vasonatrin peptide (VNP). VNP is a chimera of atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) and C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP). This synthetic peptide possesses the 22-amino acid structure of CNP, which is a cardiovascular selective peptide of endothelial origin and is structurally related to ANP. VNP also possesses the five-amino acid COOH terminus of ANP. The current study demonstrates both in vitro and in vivo that VNP possesses the venodilating actions of CNP, the natriuretic actions of ANP, and unique arterial vasodilating actions not associated with either ANP or CNP.     

Emergency free flaps to the type IIIC tibial fracture

Type IIIC tibial fractures are complex injuries involving extensive bone and soft-tissue devascularization that result in a high percentage of complications and ultimate amputation. An emergency free flap transfer not only may salvage the limb but also may improve the aesthetic and functional results of reconstruction by placing the injured structures in a well-vascularized bed. Two cases of type IIIC tibial fracture were treated in this manner, and we present our experience with a 30-month follow-up of one patient and a 6-month follow-up of another patient.
