The effects of casirivimab and imdevimab (C/I) on the innate immune response against SARS-CoV-2 infection remain unclear. We evaluated the effect of C/I on type I interferon (IFN-I) and cytokines in patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection. This prospective observational study recruited consecutive patients hospitalized with SARS-CoV-2 infection. Blood levels of IFN-I and cytokines before and after C/I administration were assessed using enzyme-linked immunoassay. The study enrolled 29 patients in the C/I group. In addition, 11 patients who received remdesivir and dexamethasone (R/D group) during the early phase (≤5 days after the onset of symptoms) were included as a comparator group. After treatment, IFN-α and IFN-β levels decreased significantly in both the C/I group and R/D group, whilst the post-treatment neutrophil-to-lymphoid ratio increased in the early C/I group but not the R/D group. In the C/I group, temporal temperature elevation and hypoxemia were observed after treatment in 58.6% and 41.4% of the cohort, respectively. However, most patients recovered by 5 days after treatment. This study could demonstrate the high therapeutic effect of C/I with an antibody-dependent enhancement-like response and decreased IFN-I production, which was likely due to the immediate induction of an antibody-dependent immune response against SARS-CoV-2. 相似文献

[Purpose] This study aimed to verify the utility of an image analysis freeware in the evaluation of thoracolumbar spine and hip joint movements during sit-to-stand movement and show the importance of separately analyzing the movements of the thoracolumbar spine and the hip joint. [Participants and Methods] We used a two-dimensional image analysis freeware to analyze the kinematics of the thoracolumbar spine and the hip joint during sit-to-stand movements in seven healthy young males. We further examined the usefulness of the freeware by verifying the concordance of its angle measurements with those of a three-dimensional motion analysis device. Moreover, we evaluated joint coordination of the thoracolumbar spine with hip joint movements in pregnant female before and after delivery by measuring the relative phase angle. [Results] The trunk angle and relative phase angle between the thoracolumbar spine and the hip joint obtained using the two different analytical methods were fairly consistent. In the analysis of the pregnant female, the degree of thoracolumbar flexion prior to hip flexion tended to decrease. Similarly, the degree of hip extension tended to decrease during pregnancy. [Conclusion] This study shows that a two-dimensional image analysis freeware could be useful and meaningful in the calculation of thoracolumbar spine and hip joint movements and in the detection of synergistic patterns of these entities during sit-to-stand movement. 相似文献

This review aims to overview state-of-the-art progress in the collaborative work between theoretical and experimental scientists to develop advanced electrolytes for Na-ion batteries (NIBs). Recent investigations were summarized on NaPF6 salt and fluoroethylene carbonate (FEC) additives in propylene carbonate (PC)-based electrolyte solution, as one of the best electrolytes to effectively passivate the hard-carbon electrode with higher cycling performance for next-generation NIBs. The FEC additive showed high efficiency to significantly enhance the capacity and cyclability of NIBs, with an optimal performance that is sensitive at low concentration. Computationally, both microscopic effects, positive and negative, were revealed at low and high concentrations of FEC, respectively. In addition to the role of FEC decomposition to form a NaF-rich solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) film, intact FECs play a role in suppressing the dissolution to form a compact and stable SEI film. However, the increase in FEC concentration suppressed the organic dimer formation by reducing the collision frequency between the monomer products during the SEI film formation processes. In addition, this review introduces the Red Moon (RM) methodology, recent computational battery technology, which has shown a high efficiency to bridge the gap between the conventional theoretical results and experimental ones through a number of successful applications in NIBs.This review aims to overview state-of-the-art progress in the collaborative work between theoretical and experimental scientists to develop advanced electrolytes for Na-ion batteries (NIBs). 相似文献

The distribution and selectivity of complex carbohydrates in the canine anal glands were studied by means of lectin histochemistry, using PO-labeled lectins. The secretory epithelium of the anal glands and the excretory duct system exhibited large amounts of mainly neutral glycoproteins with various terminal sugars (alpha-D-mannose, beta-N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, alpha-N-acetyl-D-galactosamine, alpha-D-galactose, alpha-L-fucose, N-acetyl-neuraminic acid). Distinctly prominent in the secretion were alpha-L-fucose residues. This relatively hydrophobic sugar may in particular modify or control the viscoelastic properties of the anal gland mucus, so that a stable mucous coat of the rather dry faeces can be formed. In addition, it was obvious that the major part of the excretory duct system is also involved in secretion production, and that the essential function of the saccular dilatations of the excretory ducts is to ensure secretion maturation. 相似文献

Postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF) are major postoperative complications (POCs) following distal pancreatectomy (DP). Notably, POPF may worsen the prognosis of patients with pancreatic cancer. Previously reported risks for POCs include body mass index, pancreatic texture, and albumin levels. Moreover, the C-reactive protein-to-albumin ratio (CAR) is a valuable parameter for prognostication. On the other hand, POCs sometimes lead to a worse prognosis in several cancer types. Thus, we assumed that CAR could be a risk factor for POPFs. This study investigated whether CAR can predict POPF risk in patients with pancreatic cancer following DP. This retrospective study included 72 patients who underwent DP for pancreatic cancer at Ehime University between January 2009 and August 2022. All patients underwent preoperative CAR screening. Risk factors for POPF were analyzed. POPF were observed in 17 of 72 (23.6%) patients. POPF were significantly associated with a higher CAR (p = 0.001). The receiver operating characteristic curve analysis determined the cutoff value for CAR to be 0.05 (sensitivity: 76.5%, specificity: 88.9%, likelihood ratio: 6.88), indicating an increased POPF risk. Univariate and multivariate analysis revealed that CAR ≥ 0.05 was a statistically independent factor for POPF (p < 0.001, p = 0.013). The ameliorating effects of idebenone and indeloxazine hydrochloride on the impairment of memory and learning were studied in cerebral embolized rats. The embolized rats had impaired memory and learning ability in the radial maze task; these were demonstrated by a decrease in correct responses and an increase in total errors. In particular, the rats showed severe impairment of working memory, as shown by a marked increase in the numbers of re-entries into the arm that had been already visited. Idebenone (30 mg/kg, p.o.) exerted marked ameliorating effects on the impairment in the embolized rats: the drug significantly increased the correct responses and decreased the errors. Indeloxazine hydrochloride also improved the memory impairment in the embolized rats, as shown by a reduction of the errors. The ameliorating effects of these drugs may be due mainly to improvement of hypofunctions of the central nervous system. These results confirm that idebenone and indeloxazine hydrochloride may have ameliorating actions on impairment of memory and learning induced by brain hypofunction, and they suggest that the action of idebenone is more potent than that of indeloxazine hydrochloride. 相似文献

Rats of the DA strain are highly susceptible to 4NQO-induced TCs, whereas WF rats are barely susceptible. In (DA x WF)F2 rats, 5 QTL, Tscc1-5, are responsible for most of the phenotypic variations, though they do not account for all of the phenotypic differences between WF and DA rats. Analysis of 40 tongue tumors >5 mm in diameter from (DA x WF)F1 rats for LOH at the Tscc loci revealed a high frequency of LOH in chromosomal regions where the Tscc2, -3 and -4 loci map. In most cases of LOH, the allele of the barely susceptible WF strain was lost, suggesting that these loci in the WF strain encode tumor-suppressor genes. Analysis of the same tumors for somatic mutations in oncogenes indicated frequent alteration of Ha-ras, which maps in the Tscc3 region, but rare mutation of the p15(INK4B) and p16(INK4A) genes or the p53 and Msh2 genes. Frequent LOH was also found on rat chromosomes 5 (RNO5) and 6 (RNO6). Tumors of large size accumulated LOH at multiple loci, suggesting the involvement of Tscc loci in tumor progression. 相似文献

We describe herein the case of an extremely unusual composite carcinoid-adenocarcinoma tumor of the stomach, most of which was found to be carcinoid. The carcinoid tumor component exhibited argyrophilic granules, immunohistochemical localization of chromogranin, and serotonin immunoreaction. Conversely, none of the adenocarcinoma component reacted with argyrophilia, chromogranin, or serotonin. DNA flow cytometric analysis revealed a near-diploid pattern in the carcinoid element and an aneuploid pattern in the adenocarcinoma element. The transitional zone and continuity between the two tumor components were observed. These findings suggest that the tumor originated from the endocrine system, although part of it showed nonendocrine differentiation. The patient died approximately 6 months after the onset of symptoms and an autopsy could not be performed. 相似文献
