Double-stranded RNA and bacterial lipopolysaccharide enhance sensitivit to TNF-{alpha}-mediated cell death

The effect of double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) and bacterial lipopolysaccharideon the sensitivity to tumor necrosis factor (TNF)--medlatedcell death was studied In an In vitro system. Since secretionof TNF- Is a part of the early host response to viral and bacterialinfection, we examined whether mimicking the Infection withviral and bacterial products could affect the response of cellsto TNF-. Incubation of WEHI 164 fibrosarcoma cells with dsRNAor lipopolysaccharide (LPS) significantly increased their sensitivityto TNF--mediated lysis and to TNF-secreting inflammatory T cell-mediatedlysis. Thus, these products could induce Increased sensitivityto TNF- In cells In an inflammatory focus, possibly contributingto selective elimination of Infected but not healthy cells bythis non-specific cytokine. Additionally, our data show thatboth dsRNA and LPS, as well as TNF- Itself, rapidly Induce nuclearfactor-xB (NF-*B), a DNA-bindlng protein Implicated In regulationof gene expression. We suggest that NF-xB could regulate genescrucial for the induction of cell death by TNF-.     

人文医学视域下构建《惠世医学人文素养》课程的教学实践

目的研究医学教育如何将人文精神内化于心,为医疗实践提供思路和方向。方法以《惠世医学人文素养》课程为载体,将心理营养教育融入人文教育,整体化教学整合人文和医学;应用Kirkpatrick模型从反应、学习、行为和结果等4个层次分析课程的教学效果。结果学生对课程满意度高;课程学习后学生增强了信息管理能力、团队合作能力、语言表达能力、自我发展能力等,提高了专业认知度,加强了职业认同感,在技能考核中展现了良好的人文关怀精神和优良的职业素质。结论《惠世医学人文素养》课程作为医学人文教育模式创新的有益尝试,有助于提高医学人文教育的有效性和针对性。     

Phdiatop检测在筛选变应性鼻炎中的价值

目的探讨Phadiatop检测在变应性鼻炎筛选诊断中的应用价值.方法对72例临床表现为变应性鼻炎症状及体征患者进行Phadiatop检测,同时采用5种常见过敏原作皮肤试验,并进行对比分析.结果72例中Phdiatop阳性47例(65.28%),皮肤试验阳性42例(58.33%),两者间无显著性差异(P＞0.05);Phadiatop阴性25例(34.72%),皮试阴性21例(29.17%),皮试可疑阳性9例,其中6例Phdiatop阳性.结论Phadiatop在变应性鼻炎的筛选诊断中具有重要价值.     

切应力作用下联合培养的血管内皮细胞血管假性血友病因子的含量变化

目的：研究切应力对与血管平滑肌细胞联合培养的内皮细胞的抗凝血和粘附的影响。方法：对与平滑肌细胞联合培养的内皮细胞施加生理范围的切应力,用免疫组化及图像分析法检测内皮细胞的血管假性血友病因子（ｖＷＦ）含量。结果：联合培养的内皮细胞ｖＷＦ的变化与切应力大小及作用时间有关,随切应力增大,胞内ｖＷＦ含量逐渐减少,且切应力作用的第１小时减少的最快。结论：生理范围的切应力作用,可能减少与平滑肌细胞联合培养的内皮细胞的ｖＷＦ表达,或促使ｖＷＦ短时释放加快,有利于增强抗凝血功能及内皮细胞的粘附。     

肥胖对老年糖尿病人胰岛素及C肽水平的影响

目的 :研究老年 型糖尿病 (DM)患者胰岛素 (INS)水平、 C肽 (CP)水平及肥胖对它们的影响。方法 : 型 DM组 :肥胖 [n =15 ,年龄 (6 8.40± 4.46 )岁 ,BMI(2 8.40± 3.2 0 ) kg/ m2 ],非肥胖 [n =19,年龄 (6 9.84± 5 .5 7)岁 ,BMI(2 0 .89± 1.88) kg/ m2 ]。对照组 :肥胖 [n =10 ,年龄 (6 8.5 0± 6 .6 0 )岁 ,BMI (2 7.93± 2 .34 ) kg/ m2 ];非肥胖 [n =13,年龄 (6 7.93± 6 .34 )岁 ,BMI(2 1.34± 2 .0 1) kg/ m2 ]。所有受试者均行 75 g葡萄糖耐量试验 (OGTT)及同步 INS释放试验及 CP释放 ,并计算胰岛素敏感指数 (ISI)。结果 :OGTT后 INS应答及 CP应答在肥胖者是相同的 ,但在非肥胖 型 DM病人空腹及糖负荷后 1,2 h INS及 CP均减少 (P<0 .0 5 )。DM组及对照组内肥胖者各时点 INS及 CP均高于非肥胖者 (P<0 .0 1) ,但肥胖者胰岛素敏感指数 (ISI)低于非肥胖者 (P <0 .0 5 )。结论 :非肥胖老年 型 DM病人主要是 INS释放受损 ,而胰岛素抵抗 (IR)轻微。肥胖老年 型 DM患者虽然 INS水平不低 ,但 IR显著。     

统计过程控制在医用电子直线加速器机械性能监测中的应用

目的：使用统计过程控制方法分析医用电子直线加速器长期过程表现,监测加速器状态变化趋势,并评估加速器各项指标性能状态。方法：收集2019年6月至2021年4月加速器机器性能检测(MPC)数据。绘制每个机械指标的单值控制图,分析各指标过程特征,并使用过程能力指数C_pk及C_p评估加速器各项机械指标的过程质量。结果：加速器机械精度明显优于当前厂商推荐的规格限值,但控制图监测结果显示各指标均存在一定程度的过程漂移。过程能力分析结果显示所有指标的C_pk及C_p均大于1.33,过程质量优秀。结论：加速器在满足当前MPC规格限的情况下依然可能发生过程失控。统计过程控制方法可及时发现过程中的异常改变,过程能力指数可有效评估过程质量,为质量管理及临床决策提供有效的信息。     

ANEURYSM OF SINUS OF VALSALVA DISSECTING INTO THE INTERVENTRICULAR SEPTUM – ECHOCARDIOGRAPHIC DIAGNOSIS (A Case Report)

Aneurysm of sinus of Valsalva dissecting into interventricular septum is a rare entity. We report one such case who was incidentally diagnosed by echocardiography to have this abnormality during evaluation of a clinically suspected isolated aortic regurgitation.KEY WORDS: Aneurysm – dissecting – sinus of Valsalva, Echocardiography     

EFFICACY OF SUCRALFATE IN PREVENTING GASTROINTESTINAL SIDE EFFECTS OF NSAIDs

To find out the efficacy of sucralfate in preventing gastrointestinal side effects of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) a prospective, randomised single blind study was conducted from 1989 to 1992. Patients with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and other long standing painful conditions, who were expected to receive NSAIDs for over three months, were recruited into the study. All medicines were discontinued for a period of 10–15 days prior to initial endoscopic assessment. NSAID therapy was started and the patients were randomised to receive either placebo (group A) or sucralfate (group B) in addition. Patient were reassessed clinically every week and an endoscopic examination was repeated after 6–8 weeks of follow-up. A total of 176 patients were studied in group A (n=91) and group B (n=85). At the end of 8 weeks gastrointestinal symptoms were present in 30.6% and 26.4% patients of group A and B respectively. Endoscopic assessment showed superficial lesions in 36.5% and 18.7% while endoscopic ulcer in 2.4% and 1.1% patients of groups A and B respectively. Thus in patients receiving chronic NSAID therapy, simultaneous administration of sucralfate reduces the incidence of superficial gastric lesions but has no significant effect on symptoms or ulcer formation.KEY WORDS: Gastropathy, Sucralfate, Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
