The characteristics of proteinuria during intensive physical loading

Intensive physical exercise result in certain changes in the body, kidneys in particular. A total of 23 highly qualified sportsmen were investigated for plasma proteins in the urine before and after the graded bicycle ergometry. The impairment of renal reabsorption due to physical load was evidenced by significant amounts of albumin in the afterload urinalyses of all the examinees, and the appearance of IgG in urinalysis of 6 sportsmen in comparison to the urinalysis before the exercise which reported insignificant levels of albumin in 6 subjects only.     

Temperature reaction and survival of experimental animals after microwave irradiation

In CBA mice and Wistar rats the diurnal dynamics of body temperature, the effect of keeping the animals in containers for irradiation, and the temperature reaction and survival of the animals after exposure to shf-fields of different intensities were investigated. The degree of elevation of the temperature and the survival rate of the animals were shown to depend on the power flux density and duration of exposure. The degree of elevation of the body temperature during irradiation and of its subsequent fall after irradiation can be regarded as prognostic sings of damage caused by the shf-field.Research Institute of Medical Radiology, Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR, Obnisk. Effects of hyperbaric oxygenation on tumor growth

The study failed to show a stimulating effect of hyperbaric oxygen on growth and metastatic spreading of sarcoma 37 transplanted subcutaneously or intravenously to female SHR mice, melanoma B16 intramuscularly transplanted to female C57/Bl mice and methylcholanthrene-induced tumors in female albino noninbred rats. An insignificant inhibitory effect of hyperbaric oxygen on transplantable tumor growth and development of inducible ones in experimental animals was observed.
