Production of silver nanoparticles by Bacillus thuringiensis and Enterobacter cloacae was performed and confirmed through UV–visible spectrophotometry, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and x‐ray diffraction (XRD) analyses. The 3‐(4,5‐dimethylthiazol‐2‐yl)?2,5‐diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay using mouse fibroblast cell line NIH‐3T3 D4 was carried out and IC50s of AgNPs were obtained. The nontoxic dose of each AgNPs solution was selected for wound healing assay. Thirty‐two rats were divided into four groups; two were used as the controls and two were treated by AgNPs that were produced by two bacterial strains. Results revealed that the produced AgNPs were amorphous, spherical in shapes, and had sizes under 100 nm. Histological analysis showed that AgNPs had better wound healing efficacy than the control groups. In conclusion, when the biologically produced AgNPs were used in vivo, they induced the epithelization, formation of the collagen bundles and fibroplasia and reduced the duration of completion of the epithelization and the angiogenesis. 相似文献

Frontotemporal lobar degeneration is the most common cause of dementia of non-Alzheimer's type worldwide. It manifests, clinically,

Urticarial dermatitis is a poorly understood skin condition while it seems to be much more common than the paucity of reports suggest. It manifests with severely pruritic papules and plaques that resemble eczematous and urticarial lesions morphologically. The key clues to diagnosis are the urticarial appearance and overlap with an eczematous reaction. Here, we present a series of 19 cases (13 women and six men) with urticarial dermatitis clinically and histologically. The patients' average age was 58 and most of the cases were idiopathic. Trunk and proximal extremities were the most common sites involved followed by the distal extremities. Poor response to potent topical corticosteroids and antihistamines was usual and many patients required oral prednisone or other immunosuppressant agents or phototherapy. 相似文献

OBJECTIVE
To evaluate the efficacy of Pistacia atlantica Desf. oleoresin essential oil on peptic ulcer (PU) and its antibacterial effect on metronidazole-resistant Helicobacter pylori, as well as chemical composition of the essential oil.METHODS
The essential oil was standardized using gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC/MS) analysis. Acute toxicity of the essential oil was assessed in animal model. In vitro anti-Helicobacter pylori activity was performed through disc diffusion and minimum inhibitory concentration method. For gastroprotective assay, rats received Pistacia atlantica Desf. essential oil (25, 50 and 100 mg/kg orally) 1 h before induction of ulcer by ethanol. Macroscopic (ulcer index and protection rate) and microscopic examination were performed.RESULTS
The GC/MS analysis of the essential oil led to the identification of twenty constituents and α-pinene is predominant constituent. The essential oil was safe up to 2000 mg/kg. All Helicobacter pylori strains were susceptible to the essential oil and the MIC ranged from 275 to 1100 µg/mL. The ulcer index for treated groups was significantly reduced compared to control (P < 0.001) with EC50 value of 12.32 mg/kg. In microscopic examination, Pistacia atlantica attenuated destruction and necrosis of gastric tissue.CONCLUSION
Current study exhibited protective effect of standardized Pistacia atlantica essential oil against ethanol-induced gastric ulcer and its antibacterial activity on Helicobacter pylori. α-pinene might be the responsible agent. 相似文献37.

Burkholderia pseudomallei is a CDC tier 1 select agent that causes melioidosis, a severe disease in humans and animals. Persistent infections are common, and there is currently no vaccine available. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) is a potential vaccine candidate. B. pseudomallei expresses three serologically distinct LPS types. The predominant O-polysaccharide (OPS) is an unbranched heteropolymer with repeating d-glucose and 6-deoxy-l-talose residues in which the 6-deoxy-l-talose residues are variably replaced with O-acetyl and O-methyl modifications. We observed that primary clinical B. pseudomallei isolates with mucoid and nonmucoid colony morphologies from the same sample expressed different antigenic types distinguishable using an LPS-specific monoclonal antibody (MAb). MAb-reactive (nonmucoid) and nonreactive (mucoid) strains from the same patient exhibited identical LPS banding patterns by silver staining and indistinguishable genotypes. We hypothesized that LPS antigenic variation reflected modification of the OPS moieties. Mutagenesis of three genes involved in LPS synthesis was performed in B. pseudomallei K96243. Loss of MAb reactivity was observed in both wbiA (encoding a 2-O-acetyltransferase) and wbiD (putative methyl transferase) mutants. The structural characteristics of the OPS moieties from isogenic nonmucoid strain 4095a and mucoid strain 4095c were further investigated. Utilizing nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, we found that B. pseudomallei 4095a and 4095c OPS antigens exhibited substitution patterns that differed from the prototypic OPS structure. Specifically, 4095a lacked 4-O-acetylation, while 4095c lacked both 4-O-acetylation and 2-O-methylation. Our studies indicate that B. pseudomallei OPS undergoes antigenic variation and suggest that the 9D5 MAb recognizes a conformational epitope that is influenced by both O-acetyl and O-methyl substitution patterns. 相似文献
