Background
Microbiology reference laboratories are critical in the development of high-quality clinical and public health services. In Belgium, the reference laboratories performed their activities on a voluntary basis and lacked a legal status.Methods
Pathogens or groups of pathogens necessitating a national reference center (NRC) were prioritized based on diagnostic and epidemiologic relevance. Terms of reference for each of these pathogens were developed.Results
Recently, 40 NRCs for different pathogens or groups of pathogens have been installed in Belgium to fulfill the following core functions: offering reference diagnostics, collecting reference materials, sharing information and scientific advice, participating in national and international networks, collaborating with research workgroups, and contributing to surveillance activities.Conclusions

The liquid phase exfoliation (LPE) of layered black phosphorus (BP) material is essential in the field of electronics. N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) is one of the most promising precursors for obtaining BP nanosheets/nanoparticles, but the longer sonication time leads to smaller production of phosphorene. Herein, for the first time, the large lateral size fabrication of phosphorene was attained through NMP solvent by optimizing the process parameters. The resultant dispersions were characterized by atomic force microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy. The characterization results revealed that the average lateral sizes of BP nanoparticles were found to be 67.8 ± 18.6 nm and the lateral size of fabricated BP nanosheets was found to be 5.37 μm. Moreover, this research provides a strategic approach for the mass production of phosphorene for photodetection applications.This work presented a cost-effective and simple route for the fabrication of high-quality and large lateral-size black phosphorus nanoparticles/nanosheets by liquid-phase exfoliation. 相似文献

Objective
The aim of the study was to assess the efficacy of cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) in patients with chemotherapy-induced cardiomyopathy (CIC).Methods
With the increasing incidence of CIC, the association of CRT with improvement in clinical outcomes, echocardiographic parameters, and New York Heart Classification (NYHA) class was assessed through this qualitative systematic review.Results
The five studies included a total of 169 patients who underwent CRT after CIC, and of these, 61 (36.1%) patients were males. All studies showed an improvement in left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), among other echocardiographic parameters of LV volume. However, these findings are limited by short follow-up periods, small sample sizes, and the absence of a control group.Conclusion

Dr John S Najarian (1927–2020), chairman of the Department of Surgery at the University of Minnesota from 1967 to 1993, was a pioneer in surgery, clinical immunology and transplantation. A Covid-delayed Festschrift was held in his honor on May 20, 2022. The speakers reflected on his myriad contributions to surgery, transplantation, and resident/fellow training, as well as current areas of ongoing research to improve clinical outcomes.
