Successful Aortic Valve Replacement Surgery in a Patient with Severe Haemophilia a with Low Titre Inhibitor

Acute leukemia, secondary myelodysplasia and paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria evolving from severe aplastic anemia (AA) following immunosuppressive therapy are well recognized. However, severe AA occurring after complete remission of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) has been documented only once in 2009. We report a case of 30-year-old male diagnosed with APL who achieved complete cytogenetic remission with all-trans retinoic acid based induction regimen and developed severe AA few months later during maintenance therapy.

Background  

Computer-based teaching (CBT) is a well-known educational device, but it has never been applied systematically to the teaching of a complex, rare, genetic disease, such as Hunter disease (MPS II).     

Histogram analysis of MR imaging-derived cerebral blood volume maps： combined glioma grading and identification of low-grade oligodendroglial subtypes

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE： Inclusion of oligodendroglial tumors may confound the utility of MR based glioma grading. Our aim was, first, to assess retrospectively whether a histogram-analysis method of MR peifusion images may both grade gliomas and differentiate between low-grade oligodendroglial tumors with or without loss of heterozygosity （LOH） on 1p/19q and, second, to assess retrospectively whether low-grade oligodendroglial subtypes can be identified in a population of patients with high-grade and low-grade astrocytic and oligodendroglial tumors.     

Counterelectrophoresis in the Diagnosis of Amebiasis

One hundred eighty-one collected sera were tested for amebic serologic reactivity, using the counterelectrophoresis technic (CEP) and compared to the results of the agar gel diffusion (AGD) and the latex agglutination (LA) methods. Of 23 sera from patients with proven amebic liver abscess, 22 (96%) were positive immediately after CEP for one hour and all were positive within 24 hours. Of eight sera from patients with intestinal amebiasis, five were positive immediately and seven within 24 hours. Of 150 sera from patients with nonamebic illnesses, there were no positives with any method used. The CEP and AGD were in agreement on all sera tested.     

Recurrent urinary tract infection in girls. Group with lower tract findings and a benign course

A group of girls is described with recurrent urinary tract infections characterized by predominantly lower tract symptoms. Clinical, laboratory, and radiography findings during the period of follow-up are presented. Infection persisted in most patients over several years. Response to medical and surgical treatment was unsatisfactory. The mean interval between the initial and most recent radiological study was 6 1/2 years. No case of renal parenchymal scarring was seen.     

新缩瞳剂包公藤甲素人工合成研究

包公藤甲素是从包公藤(Erycibe obtusifolia Benth.)茎中提得的一个新莨菪烷生物碱,具有强烈的缩瞳作用,临床用于治疗青光眼。本文报道用合成的6β-乙酰氧基托品酮为原料,经卤代、水解、还原和N-去甲基化等反应合成包甲素(8)。经光谱测定证实8与天然包甲素的结构完全一致。合成品系外消旋体,其作用机理与天然品相同,而强度则减半。
