We designed this study, to investigate the predicting effect of a single resistance exercise session on serum level of RBP4 and adiponectin in trained and untrained subjects and to evaluate whether regular training may affect the response of these adipokines to exercise. Thirty four healthy young male students including 19 trained and 15 untrained participated in this study; each group was then randomly assigned to intervention and control groups. The exercise session prolonged 120 minutes intensive resistance program at 70%-80% of 1RM. The blood samples were collected just before the start of training program and 4 hours post exercise to evaluate concentration of adiponectin, RBP4 and CRP as well as other metabolic markers. The serum level of adiponectin, RBP4 and CRP was not significantly different between trained and untrained groups at baseline. More over four hours post exercise adipokines concentration and CRP didn't differ between groups. Adjusted regression model showed, basal adiponectin (β=0.59, p=<0.001) and HDL cholesterol (β=0.28, p=0.09) were the main predictors of post exercise adiponectin concentration. In addition, the basic level of RBP4 appeared to be the only predictor of after exercise RBP4 concentration (β=0.46, p=0.02). Neither one session of high intensity resistance exercise nor long term training had predicting effect on post exercise adiponectin and RBP4 concentration in healthy young men. In the other hand, the beneficial effect of acute resistance exercise training may not be reflected by changes in adiponectin, RBP4 and CRP concentration in healthy young individual no matter they trained or untrained.  相似文献

To determine the prevalence of vaccine-associated paralytic poliomyelitis (VAPP) in immunodeficient infants, we reviewed all documented cases caused by immunodeficiency-associated vaccine-derived polioviruses in Iran from 1995 through 2008. Changing to an inactivated polio vaccine vaccination schedule and introduction of screening of neonates for immunodeficiencies could reduce the risk for VAPP infection.  相似文献

Objective: To analyze the effects of a Qigong program on various parameters of unstimulated saliva, including volume, pH and secretory immunoglobulin A (S-IgA) level. Methods: Twice a day from the beginning of Fall 2005, twenty-three healthy volunteers aged 22-24 did special Qigong exercises and massage of acupuncture points which stimulated the energy cycle and increased body water energy. The unstimulated saliva volume and pH were recorded every week in Spring (April, May, June) 2005 before the volunteers started to learn and exercise Qigong, and after Qigong intervention in Spring (April, May, June) 2006. During the period of study, saliva was collected in the same location and on similar dates at the Dental Faculty of Tehran University of Medical Sciences. The S-IgA levels of the last samples of the last week of Spring 2005 and 2006 were measured. Results: The unstimulated saliva volume after Qigong exercises (2.94±0.20 mL/5min) was significantly higher as compared to the pre-Qigong phase (1.65±0.102 mL/5min, P〈0.05). The S-IgA level was 105.45±69.41 mg/mL before doing Qigong exercises, and 156.23±88.56 mg/mL after doing Qigong exercises, and a statistically significant difference was seen between the two measurements (P=0.005). The change in pH was not statistically significant. Conclusions: The application of Qigong is beneficial for increasing salivary volume and other parameters. Moreover, the results suggest that Qigong may be a useful medication for patients with salivary hyposecretion. Further research is recommended in examining the long-term effects of Qigong on improving salivary volume and other parameters in individuals with salivary hyposecretion.  相似文献

Acute and chronic relapsing forms of experimental allergic encephalomyelitis (EAE) can be induced in SJL/J mice following transfer of myelin basic protein (MBP)-sensitized T cells which have been challenged in vitro with MBP. In this study, addition of specific anti I-A antibody during the culture blocked the antigen-specific proliferation of T cells and inhibited the transfer of both acute and relapsing EAE. Treatment of T cell recipients with anti I-As antibody daily for 10 days suppressed the induction of acute EAE. Further treatment of mice with anti I-As antibody reduced the number of relapses and improved their conditions. We conclude that MBP-sensitized T cells interact with Ia positive cells, both in vitro and in vivo, to induce acute and chronic relapsing EAE, respectively. The mechanism of this interaction and its role in the disease process are discussed.  相似文献

The fatal outcome of K virus infection in infant mice and cytoxan-treated adult mice is related to their inability to mount a prompt antibody response to the virus. Athymic nude mice infected with K virus exhibited no clinical illness and no detectable virus-specific immunoglobulin G (IgG) response, but they did exhibit a low level of virus-specific immunoglobulin M response. Transfer of spleen cells from K virus-primed nude mice to infected infant mice conferred complete protection against K virus-induced mortality. This protection was diminished by the depletion of B cells but not by the depletion of adherent cells from the primed spleen cells. B cell response is therefore important in the recovery of nude mice from K virus infection.  相似文献

Reaction conditions of N-acetyl- beta -D-glucosam inidase (EC 3.2.1.30;NAG) determination in untreated urine samples were studied, using 4-nitrophenyl-Nacetyl- beta -D-glucosaminide (PNP-NAG) as substrate. Final concentrations of 8 mm ol of PNP-NAG, 25 m mol of acetate, or 100 mm ol of citrate (pH 4.80 at 37 C) per liter and a sample/ reagent volum e ratio of 1/ 8 were found to be optimum. The within-run and between-run precision was excellent, with CVs averaging 2.67 and 4.55%, respectively. Reference values for urinary NAG activity assayed by this m ethod were established for untimed hum an urine specimens from 206 healthy subjects. The normal reference interval (mean- 1SD) was 0.15-15.05 (4.51 - 3.02) U per gram creatinine. By this method, urinary NAG activity can be m easured over a wide range (up to 200 U/ L) in untreated urine samples with high sensitivity. Urine samples need no pretreatment, and two reagent solutions are enough for measurement of NAG activity. The method is thus suitable for use with various automated analyzers. Finally, this m ethod requires only to 25 muL of untreated urine. Therefore, it is appropriate for evaluating nephrotoxicity in hum an (especially neonates and infants) and sm all animal models by assay of urinary NAG activity.  相似文献
