To date, no studies have evaluated the appropriation of the front-of-pack Nutri-Score labeling among adolescents, although they are both consumers and buyers of food products. Therefore, the objectives of the present study were (1) to assess Nutri-Score awareness, perception and self-reported impact on food choices in French adolescents and (2) to identify the determinants associated with higher Nutri-Score awareness and self-reported impact on food choices. A web-based survey was conducted in November 2021 among 1201 adolescents. Multivariate logistic models were used to evaluate the relationships between individual factors and Nutri-Score awareness and self-reported impact on food choices. Almost all the adolescents reported to know the Nutri-Score (97.0%) and more than 9 out of 10 considered this logo easy to understand and easy to identify on food packages. Finally, 54% self-reported that the label had already impacted their food choices. Girls (2.28 (1.09–4.77), p = 0.028) and the 15–17-year-olds (3.12 (1.32–7.35), p = 0.0094) were more likely to be aware of the label compared with their respective counterparts (i.e., boys and the 11–14-year-olds). Regarding the impact of food choices, the use of the Nutri-Score by the parents was the most determinant criterion (7.74 (5.74–10.42), p < 0.0001). Thus, promotion campaigns should target both adolescents and parents. 相似文献
Objective: To consider the relationships between both peripheral and central hearing impairment and cognition.
Design: Narrative review.
Study sample: Numerous studies exploring the relationship between hearing impairment and cognitive function, particularly in an older population.
Results: In addition to the well-documented relationship between peripheral hearing loss and cognition highlighted in previous comprehensive reviews, there is also some evidence to suggest that there is a relationship between central hearing impairment and cognition. Further research is required to better understand this relationship and its effects on hearing aid benefit in people with both peripheral hearing loss and central hearing impairment.
Conclusions: To fully understand the relationship between hearing impairment and cognitive impairment, not only peripheral but central hearing needs to be considered. Such knowledge could be of benefit in the clinical management of people with both peripheral hearing loss and central hearing impairment. 相似文献
BackgroundIn the current study, we examined the real-world prevalence of highly pigmented advanced melanomas (HPMel) and the clinicopathologic, genomic, and ICPI biomarker signatures of this class of tumors.Materials and MethodsOur case archive of clinical melanoma samples for which the ordering physician requested testing for both PD-L1 immunohistochemistry (IHC) and comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP) was screened for HPMel cases, as well as for non-pigmented or lightly pigmented advanced melanoma cases (LPMel).ResultsOf the 1268 consecutive melanoma biopsies in our archive that had been submitted for PD-L1 IHC, 13.0% (165/1268) were HPMel and 87.0% (1103/1268) were LPMel. In the HPMel cohort, we saw a significantly lower tumor mutational burden (TMB, median 8.8 mutations/Mb) than in the LPMel group (11.4 mut/Mb), although there was substantial overlap. In examining characteristic secondary genomic alterations (GA), we found that the frequencies of GA in TERTp, CDKN2A, TP53, and PTEN were significantly lower in the HPMel cases than in LPMel. A higher rate of GA in CTNNB1, APC, PRKAR1A, and KIT was identified in the HPMel cohort compared with LPMel.ConclusionsIn this study, we quantified the failure rates of melanoma samples for PD-L1 testing due to high melanin pigmentation and showed that CGP can be used in these patients to identify biomarkers that can guide treatment decisions for HPMel patients. Using this practical clinical definition for tumor pigmentation, our results indicate that HPMel are frequent at 13% of melanoma samples, and in general appear molecularly less developed, with a lower TMB and less frequent secondary GA of melanoma progression. 相似文献
The plasticity of macrophages with selective functional phenotypes partially arises in respective to their microenvironment. Tumor‐associated macrophages (TAMs) may promote disease progression with tumor specific manner. Here we report that in pediatric malignant soft‐tissue tumors, the presence of TAMs and expression of adiponectin (APN) are heterogeneous. Both APN and TAMs had high expression in rhabdomyosarcoma, especially in the malignant subtype, alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma. To investigate the mode of action of APN on TAM activation, a murine MN/MCA1 sarcoma model was used. The Results revealed that exogenous APN had no effect on MN/MCA1 proliferation but tumor size was markedly reduced in apn?/? mice versus WT controls. The accumulation of TAMs in apn?/? mice was also reduced which correlated to downregulated serum levels of MCP‐1. Likewise, TAMs in apn?/? mice exhibited a M1‐like phenotype, characterized by increase in MHC IIhigh population and M1 phenotypic markers, such as iNOS gene and serum TNF‐α accompanied by a decrease in M2 markers, namely YM1 gene and serum IL‐10. In addition, APN deficiency increased the number of CD4+ T cells, CD8+ T cells and NK cells in tumors and reduced tumor metastasis. The altered phenotype of TAMs in apn?/? mice was associated with a marked decrease in phospho‐p38 and treatment with a p38 MAPK inhibitor significantly reduced tumor size and increased MHC II expression on TAMs in WT mice, implying p38 MAPK signaling pathway may contribute to APN‐mediated TAM polarization. Collectively, our findings suggest that APN may have a potential role in regulating soft tissue sarcoma growth. 相似文献
