Favorable stacking patterns of two models with alternative orders of chalcogen atoms in SiC-MSSe (M = Mo, W) vdW heterostructures are investigated using density functional theory calculations. Both model-I and model-II of the SiC-MSSe (M = Mo, W) vdW heterostructures show type-II band alignment, while the spin orbit coupling effect causes considerable Rashba spin splitting. Furthermore, the plane-average electrostatic potential is also calculated to investigate the potential drops across the heterostructure and work function. The imaginary part of the dielectric function reveals that the first optical transition is dominated by excitons with high absorption in the visible region for both heterostructures. Appropriate band alignments with standard water redox potentials enable the capability of these heterostructures to dissociate water into H+/H2 and O2/H2O.

Using DFT calculations, we have investigated the electronic structure, Rashba effect, optical and photocatalytic performance of SiC-MSSe (M = Mo, W) van der Waals heterostructures with different stacking patterns of chalcogen atoms.  相似文献

Physical activity is a substantial method in the management of children and adolescents with Type 1 diabetes mellitus but it is not considered as a treatment for diabetes. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of Pilates exercises on metabolic control and physical performance in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus. Thirty one sedentary patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus, ranging in age from 12 to 17 (experimental group, n=17 and control group, n=14) were submitted to 12 weeks of Pilates training. Participants underwent tests to determine the physical performance and metabolic control before and after 12 weeks of Pilates session. At the end of study, there were significant alterations in physical performance of the study group. Peak power, mean power, vertical jump and flexibility of study group increased. There were no alterations for this parameters in the control group. There was no significant difference for glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) in both groups. Conclusions: Physical performance increased via Pilates exercises in the patients with type 1 DM. However there were no changes in metabolic control. In the present study, the positive effects of exercise on metabolic control could not be shown in patients with Type 1 DM.  相似文献

Objective:The aim of this study was to assess the quality of life (QoL) and psychological well-being in child and adolescent with disorders of sex development (DSD).Methods:Sixty-two cases, aged 2-18 years, who were followed by a multidisciplinary DSD team were included. All participants and their parents were requested the complete the Pediatric Quality Of Life Inventory (PedsQL) and the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire. The psychiatric diagnoses of the patients were evaluated according to Schedule for Affective Disorders and Schizophrenia for School-Age Children/Present and Lifetime Turkish Version. Results:There was no significant difference between the 46,XX DSD and 46,XY DSD groups for both child and parent in Total PedsQL score. In the subscale scores, the PedsQL Physical Functionality Score reported by children was significantly lower for the 46,XX DSD group than for the 46,XY DSD group (p=0.01). There was a psychiatric diagnosis in 25.8% of cases. The PedsQL School Functionality Score reported by children in the group with psychiatric diagnosis was significantly lower than the group without psychiatric diagnosis (p=0.018). In the group with psychiatric diagnosis, the PedsQL Total Score and the subscale scores (Emotional Functionality Score, Social Functionality Score, School Functionality) reported by parents were significantly lower than in parents of the group without psychiatric diagnosis. Conclusion:This study emphasized that psychiatric disorders in DSD patients negatively affect the QoL. Psychiatric support and counseling from a multidisciplinary team are very important for families affected by DSD.  相似文献

BackgroundPancreatoduodenectomy (PD) or distal pancreatectomy (DP) are common procedures for patients with a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor (pNET). Nevertheless, certain patients may benefit from a pancreas-preserving resection such as enucleation (EN). The aim of this study was to define the indications and differences in long-term outcomes among patients undergoing EN and PD/DP.MethodsPatients undergoing resection of a pNET between 1992 and 2016 were identified. Indications and outcomes were evaluated, and propensity score matching (PSM) analysis was performed to compare long-term outcomes between patients who underwent EN versus PD/DP.ResultsAmong 1034 patients, 143 (13.8%) underwent EN, 304 (29.4%) PD, and 587 (56.8%) DP. Indications for EN were small size (1.5 cm, IQR:1.0–1.9), functional tumors (58.0%) that were mainly insulinomas (51.7%). After PSM (n = 109 per group), incidence of postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF) grade B/C was higher after EN (24.5%) compared with PD/DP (14.0%) (p = 0.049). Median recurrence-free survival (RFS) was comparable among patients who underwent EN (47 months, 95% CI:23–71) versus PD/DP (37 months, 95% CI: 33–47, p = 0.480).ConclusionComparable long-term outcomes were noted among patients who underwent EN versus PD/DP for pNET. The incidence of clinically significant POPF was higher after EN.  相似文献
