The advantages of delayed imaging and radiographic correlation in scintigraphic localization of gastrointestinal bleeding

Two cases in which gastrointestinal bleeding was localized by serial scintigraphic imaging with red blood cells labeled in vivo with 99mTc-PYP are reported. The importance of both early serial imaging and delayed imaging and of the correlation with other radiographic techniques is demonstrated. Reflux of blood from the sigmoid into the proximal colon was observed in both cases. In one case, contrast material injected into a resected specimen confirmed the scintigraphic localization of the site of bleeding.     

Epilepsy and coeliac disease

A number of neurological disorders have been described in association with coeliac disease, including epilepsy. A review of 177 patients with coeliac disease failed to show an increased prevalence of epilepsy. This is contrary to the findings of other workers, and requires further investigation.

报道２５个Ｎ－甲基－Ｎ－（α－取代萘甲基）取代苄胺类化合物的合成及抗真菌活性。抑菌测试结果表明，目标化合物对于８种试验菌种均有不同程度的抑菌活性，化合物６，７，８，１０，１１和２１等活性为ｎａｆｔｉｆｉｎｅ的４～２０倍，化合物８，１０，１１和２１等活性为ｂｕｔｅｎａｆｉｎｅ的２～１０倍，化合物８，９，１０，１１和２１等对Ｓｐｏｒｏｔｒｉｃｈｕｍｓｃｈｅｎｃｋｉｉ及Ａｓｐｅｒｇｉｌｌｕｓｆｕｍｉｇａｔｕｓ的活性为ｃｌｏｔｒｉｍａｚｏｌｅ的８～１５倍，化合物７，８，９和２１等对Ｃｒｙｐｔｏｃｃｏｃｕｓｎｅｏｆｏｒｍａｎｓ亦表现出较高活性，ＭＩＣ为０．３１～１．２５μｇ·ｍｌ－１。     

Ia-bearing cells promote the concanavalin A mitogenic response of Ia-negative T cells.

Nylon wool column-purified T cell populations depleted of Ia-bearing cells do not respond to the T cell mitogen concanavalin A (Con A). The response of this population can be restored by admixture of untreated nylon wool-nonadherent T cells. These promotor cells express Thy-1, are not sensitive to mitomycin C treatment and cannot be replaced with adherent spleen cells. Experiments using the T6 chromosome marker demonstrate that Ia-depleted populations respond to ConA only in the presence of the Ia-positive population.     

Structure of Ia antigens from the rat. Mouse alloantisera demonstrate at least two distinct molecular species

Ia antigens isolated from spleen cells of rats and mice are composed of two polypeptide chains, designated α and β. Mouse alloantisera specific for the I-A^k and I-E^k subregions react with two distinct groups of rat Ia antigens, designated A-like and E- like, respectively. Two-dimensional gel electrophoresis and peptide map analysis demonstrate that the A-like antigens of rat are distinct from the E-like antigens. Both rat Ia antigens react with alloantiserum produced in rats congenic for the major histocompatibility complex (MHC). These results demonstrate for the first time that two distinct Ia antigens are present in the rat. Accordingly, the rat, like the mouse, may have Ia antigens encoded by at least two sub regions of the rat MHC. The existence of multiple Ia gene products in rats is revealed by chemical techniques even in the absence of formal genetic evidence of more than one I subregion in the rat.
