To determine whether some clinical parameters can be used to predict the hemorrhage and whether the relationship between these clinical variables and the grades of hemorrhage is linear.
Methods
A total of 230 premature infants, born at a gestational age less than 34 weeks were retrospectively reviewed. Germinal matrix-intraventricular hemorrhage (GM-IVH), the grade of the hemorrhage, and clinical data were assessed with a checklist. Variables were analyzed by using Mann Whitney U and Fisher’s exact tests and then multiple logistic regression analysis was used to evaluate the independent risk factors.
Findings
Resuscitation, gestational age, hypotension, multiple birth, and birth weight were found to be independent risk factors. We determined non-linear relationship between the grades of hemorrhage and the clinical parameters. But when we classified hemorrhages as grade 1, grade 2-3 and grade 4, the relationships were found linear.
Conclusion
Premature infants who had resuscitation, low gestational age, hypotension, multiple birth, and low birth weight are more likely to have GM-IVH. The relationship between the clinical variables and the grades of GM-IVH does not seem to be linear. 相似文献
Advanced multidimensional NMR techniques have been employed to investigate the intramolecular hydrogen bonds (HBs) in a series of N,N′-([1,1′-binaphthalene]-2,2′-diyl)bis(benzamide) derivatives, with the site-specific substitution of different functional groups. The existence of intramolecular HBs and the elimination of any molecular aggregation and possible intermolecular HBs are ascertained by various experimental NMR techniques, including solvent polarity dependent modifications of HB strengths. In the fluorine substituted derivative, direct evidence for the engagement of organic fluorine in HB is obtained by the detection of heteronuclear through-space correlation and the coupling between two NMR active nuclei where the transmission of spin polarization is mediated through HBs (1hJFH). The extent of reduction in the strength of 1hJFH on dilution with high polarity solvents directly provided the qualitative measure of HB strength. The HB, although becoming weakened, does not get nullified even in pure high polarity solvent, which is attributed to the structural constraints. The rate of exchange of a labile hydrogen atom with the deuterium of the solvent permitted the measurement of their half-lives, that are correlated to the relative strengths of HBs. The experimental NMR findings are further validated by XRD and DFT-based theoretical computations, such as, NCI and QTAIM.NMR studies reveal very strong hydrogen bond unbreakable even in high polarity solvents.相似文献
Two chalcogenated ligands L1 and L2 containing anthracene core and amine functionality have been synthesized. Both the ligands have been characterized using 1H and 13C{1H} NMR techniques. The structure of L1 has also been corroborated by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Application of L1 and L2 as stabilizers for palladium nano-particles (NPs) has been explored and six different types of NPs 1–6 have been prepared by varying the quantity of stabilizer. The nano-particles have been characterized by PXRD, EDX, and HRTEM techniques. The size of NPs has been found to be in the range of ∼1–2 nm, 2–3 nm, 4–6 nm, 1–2 nm, 1–2 nm and 3–5 nm for 1–6 respectively. The catalytic activities of 1–6 have been explored for Suzuki–Miyaura coupling of phenyl boronic acid with various aryl halides. These NPs showed good catalytic activity for various aryl chlorides/bromides at low catalyst loading (5 mg). Among 1–6, the highest activity has been observed for NPs 1, probably due to their relatively small size and high uniformity in the dispersion. The recyclability of the NPs upto 5 catalytic cycles is a distinct advantage.Monodispersed ultrasmall Pd nanoparticles synthesized utilizing bulky organochalcogen secondary amines as stabilizers and application in Suzuki coupling of aryl chlorides at low catalyst loading.相似文献
Colitis is a rare manifestation of enteric fever in children. Toxic megacolon complicating typhoid colitis is even rarer and requires early recognition and aggressive management due to the high mortality associated with this condition. The authors report a rare case of Toxic megacolon secondary to typhoid colitis in a seven-year-old girl. 相似文献
Sites along the Elizabeth River are contaminated with polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) from historical creosote production and other industrial processes. Previous studies have demonstrated that Atlantic killifish collected from sites throughout the Elizabeth River display resistance to the teratogenic effects of PAH-exposure in a manner commensurate with sediment PAH concentrations. The current study characterized various chemical pollutants in sediment and investigated the effects of aqueous sediment extracts from sites along the Elizabeth River to the cardiac development of Atlantic killifish embryos from fish collected from an uncontaminated reference site. Embryonic cardiac deformities were more prevalent after exposure to extracts from sites with high PAH loads. However, activation of cytochrome P4501A, a gene up-regulated by PAH-induction of the aryl hydrocarbon receptor and measured using an in ovo EROD assay, did not consistently increase with PAH concentrations. This work further characterizes sediments in the Elizabeth River, as well as provides insight into the evolutionary pressures at each ER site.
Worksite health and wellness (WH&W) are gaining popularity in targeting cardiovascular (CV) risk factors among various industries. India is a large country with a larger workforce in the unorganized sector than the organized sector. This imbalance creates numerous challenges and barriers to implementation of WH&W programs in India. Large scale surveys have identified various CV risk factors across various industries. However, there is scarcity of published studies focusing on the effects of WH&W programs in India. This paper will highlight: 1) the current trend of CV risk factors across the industrial community, 2) the existing models of delivery for WH&W in India and their barriers, and 3) a concise evidence based review of various WH&W interventions in India. 相似文献
Non‐alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is the most common cause of liver disease in Western populations, and its prevalence is increasing rapidly. It is part of a multisystem disease affecting other organs such as the kidneys, heart and blood vessels, and is closely associated with the components of the metabolic syndrome. Physicians managing patients with NASH should not only focus on the management of NASH, but also on associated comorbidities in individual patients. The approaches to treatment of NASH include either limiting energy surplus alone, or in combination with targeting of downstream pathways of inflammation and fibrosis. In this mini‐review, we discuss the currently available treatment options for NASH, as well as those in late‐stage clinical trials. We discuss the challenges of managing these patients with a limited number of approved therapies, as well as managing advanced‐stage patients with NASH and cirrhosis. We also discuss the specific management of comorbidities in NASH patients, in particular diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidaemia and cardiovascular diseases. Finally, we present the screening protocols for both hepatocellular carcinoma and extrahepatic malignancies in these patients. 相似文献
