The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) disease was first detected in December 2019 in Wuhan, China. This disease is currently one of the most important global health problems. The novel coronavirus COVID-19 is a respiratory illness, that has caused a deadly pandemic that is spreading rapidly around the world. It is not only a respiratory system virus that causes severe lung disease, but also a systemic disease agent that can affect all systems. People with COVID-19 disease usually have respiratory signs, however, the liver disorder is not an uncommon presentation. In addition, many studies around the world have revealed that the liver is injured to various degrees in patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 disease. ObjectiveTo evaluate the clinical characteristics and outcomes of pregnant women with Covid-19.Materials and methodsThis case series study was performed to investigate demographic, clinical and obstetric characteristics of 26 pregnant women with COVID-19 referring to a university hospital of Kashan during the epidemic of COVID-19 (March to May 2020).ResultsThe mean gestational age of the patients at admission and delivery was 31.8 ± 5.2 and 36.3 ± 3.4 weeks, respectively. The most common symptoms were fever (96.2%) followed by dyspnea and cough (30.8%). The findings of lung CT scan showed abnormalities confirming the pneumonia in 22 patients (84.6%). Cesarean section was performed in 69.2% of the mothers. The most common maternal–fetal outcome was preterm delivery (38%). Two mothers were transferred to the ICU due to deterioration in clinical condition and they underwent mechanical ventilation without any maternal death. The most common neonatal outcomes were prematurity (38%) and low birth weight (34.6%). No cases of confirmed COVID-19 were observed in the neonates.ConclusionClinical manifestations and laboratory and radiographic findings in pregnant women with COVID-19 are similar to the general population. Common outcomes of pregnancy and delivery in mothers included increased rate of preterm delivery and cesarean section. The most prevalent neonatal outcomes included prematurity and LBW. Careful monitoring of pregnant women with COVID-19 is recommended. 相似文献

Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are known for their essential roles in promotion of innate immunity and induction of adaptive immunity through recognition of pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) or danger associated molecular patterns (DAMPs). TLR genes are excellent models for the study of the selective pressure enforced by microorganisms on the host genome. Phylogenetic analyses have shown that interactions between pathogens and immune systems have changed during evolution. Selective pressure for maintenance of specific pathogen recognition has led to evolution of TLRs under both positive and purifying selection. However, intracellular and cell-surface TLRs have been affected differently due to their variation in conservational constraints. In this review, we summarize some of the main studies on the influence of selection on shaping the evolution of several TLR gene families in different terrestrial vertebrate species. We also describe the effect of evolution on the function of different TLRs and their specific conservations in these species and show similarities and differences in evolutionary patterns of TLR orthologs among species as well as among TLR gene families. 相似文献

Sexual compatibility increases the stability of marriage and partners’ relationships and decreases sexually transmitted diseases. This qualitative study using a content analysis approach was conducted with 36 married men and women. Interviews were conducted for data collection. As the main theme of this study, “couple's sexual companionship” emerged as the main theme of sexual compatibility, that means couples’ participation for fulfilling each other sexual needs and solving problems arising from sexual discrepancies based on sexual understandings, sexual agreements and interests for continuing the sexual relationship with the aim of mutual sexual satisfaction. Sexual compatibility did not necessarily mean similarities, as during the marital life sexual discrepancies were inevitable. However, compatible couples encountered such a situation based on understandings, agreement and love. Active participation in sexual relationships, forgiveness and consideration, no huffing, mutual respect, flexibility and an occasional use of non-penetrative sexual relationships, sexual conversation with spouses, patience and development of the sexual relationship were the prominent feature of sexually compatible couples. 相似文献

Aluminium is an environmental pollutant which induces oxidative stress, while silymarin is a potent antioxidant. This study was conducted to investigate the possible protective effects of silymarin on adverse effects of aluminium chloride on vital sperm parameters as well as its effects on oxidative stress markers in human spermatozoa. Human spermatozoa were divided into 5 groups as follows: (a) spermatozoa at 0 hr; (b) spermatozoa at 180 min (control); (c) spermatozoa treated with aluminium chloride; (d) spermatozoa treated with silymarin + aluminium chloride; and (e) spermatozoa treated with silymarin. The sperm samples were used to assess sperm vital parameters such as acrosome and plasma membrane integrity, viability, mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) and motility as well as sperm malondialdehyde (MDA) level and the total antioxidant capacity. The percentage of acrosome and plasma membrane integrity, viability, MMP, motility and the total antioxidant capacity of spermatozoa treated with aluminium chloride significantly decreased compared with control group, while the level of MDA significantly increased compared with the control group. In the silymarin + aluminium chloride group, silymarin could significantly compensate the adverse effects of aluminium chloride on these parameters. Administration of silymarin alone significantly increased the percentage of acrosome and plasma membrane integrity, viability, motility and total antioxidant capacity, while significantly reduced MDA levels compared with the control group. Aluminium chloride by inducing oxidative stress exerts disastrous effects on the vital parameters of human spermatozoa and silymarin, as a potent antioxidant, could reverse the effects of aluminium chloride on these parameters. 相似文献

The lichenicolous anamorphic fungus Sclerococcum parmeliae was isolated in pure culture, and ITS, nuLSU and mtSSU sequences were obtained from these isolates. For comparison, sequences from S. sphaerale, the generic type, were obtained directly from freshly collected specimens. Phylogenetic analyses place S. sphaerale with species of Dactylospora and an unidentified lichen-inhabiting isolate in a strongly supported clade that is sister to a lineage comprising members of the Chaetothyriales and Pyrenulales. In contrast, S. parmeliae is inferred as a member of the Herpotrichiellaceae (Chaetothyriales) and belongs to a robustly supported clade that also includes species of Cladophialophora, Capronia semiimmersa, and Phialophora verrucosa. Within the Herpotrichiellaceae, S. parmeliae most closely resembles members of the anamorph genus Cladophialophora. Accordingly, we propose the transfer of S. parmeliae and the morphologically similar species S. cladoniae, S. hawksworthii and S. normandinae to Cladophialophora. A new lichenicolous species, Clad. megalosporae, collected twice on Megalospora in Florida and Papua New Guinea, is also described. 相似文献

Aims To study the feasibility and impact of a comprehensive, integrated, community-based program directed towards reducing modifiable risk factors for cardiovascular disease. In this study, we reported the differences in the impacts of IHHP on physical activity, smoking and nutritional behaviors of a study population based on sex. Subjects and methods Using multi-stage cluster sampling on people aged ≥19 years of both intervention and reference areas, 12,514 individuals in 2001, 5,891 in 2002, 4,793 in 2003 and 6,097 in 2004 as well as a sample of 3,011 participants from the intervention area in 2005 were enrolled. Women made up 50.8 percent of participants, with similar proportions from 2001 to 2005 and comparable distribution between intervention and reference areas. Eight distinct component interventional projects were designed separately for both sexes to improve modifiable risk factors in the intervention area. The WHO STEPwise risk factor surveillance questionnaires were used to conduct the annual cross-sectional surveys for behavioral changes. Estimates of intervention effect ratio were conducted based on annual changes in the behavioral modifiable risk factors for both men and women. Results Intervention activities positively affected the total and leisure-time physical activities in men, but not women. Dietary choice of both sexes showed modest degrees of improvement. Smoking status of men improved in the study period (except 2004), while the effect on women was not significant. Conclusions Further interventions to improve physical activity in women should be regarded as a health priority in Iran. The serine protease urinary plasminogen activator or urokinase (uPA), produced in abundance by many malignancies, plays a key role in tumor cell invasion and metastasis. uPA is localized within the malignant cell milieu via its cell surface receptor [uPA receptor (uPAR)], which is expressed by tumor and tumor-associated cells. In the present study, we have used a syngeneic model of rat breast cancer to directly evaluate the role of uPAR as a diagnostic and therapeutic target in metastatic breast cancer. A polyclonal antibody against the ligand-binding NH(2)-terminal domain of rat uPAR (ruPAR) was developed. This antibody recognizes ruPAR by both immunofluorescence and Western blot analysis. Recombinant ruPAR and ruPAR IgG displaced the binding of (125)I-labeled ruPAR IgG to rat prostate cancer cells (Dunning R3227 Mat Ly Lu) and breast cancer cells (Mat B-III) overexpressing ruPAR (Mat B-III-uPAR). ruPAR IgG also blocked the invasive capacity of these tumor cells in a dose-dependent manner. Mat B-III-uPAR cells were inoculated s.c. into the mammary fat pad of syngeneic female Fischer rats. On day 10 after tumor cell inoculation, animals were injected with (125)I-labeled preimmune or ruPAR IgG and then sacrificed at timed intervals. Maximum (125)I uptake was observed in primary tumors and in tissues commonly affected by tumor metastases (liver, spleen, lungs, and lymph nodes) at 12 h. Injection of (125)I-labeled preimmune or ruPAR IgG into normal non-tumor-bearing animals resulted in minimal basal levels of uPAR expression and established the specificity of the ruPAR IgG. Similar results were obtained by Northern blot and PCR analysis of mRNA isolated from tissues of normal and tumor-bearing animals. To evaluate the effectiveness of this antibody in tumor progression, ruPAR IgG (50-100 microg/day) was injected s.c. for 7 days (day 1-7) at the site of tumor cell inoculation (mammary fat pad), and animals were sacrificed at various time points for evaluation of tumor growth and metastases. Animals receiving ruPAR IgG showed a marked decrease in tumor growth and metastases as compared with control tumor-bearing animals receiving the same dose of preimmune rabbit IgG. Histological analysis of experimental primary tumors showed marked tumor necrosis that was due to increased tumor cell apoptosis as determined by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated nick end labeling assay. Together, these studies demonstrate the ability of anti-uPAR antibody to decrease tumor volume and detect the presence of microscopic occult tumor metastases in malignancies where uPA/uPAR play a key role in tumor progression. 相似文献
