视神经周围炎的研究进展

视神经周围炎(OPN)是指涉及视神经鞘膜的一系列病理性炎症.OPN的经典三联征包括单侧视神经病变伴随疼痛和/或视盘水肿,此病症与其它视神经病变相似,导致诊断延迟和治疗欠佳.2016年1月,我们对发表于Medline和Ovid数据库的关键词为“视神经周围炎”的各种语言的文献进行了检索,共查找到60篇文献,发表于1956-2015年.两位作者(Tai ELM和Tevaraj JMP)分别对论文摘要进行了独立筛选,并筛选出相关文章.本次综述,我们强调OPN的特点,特别是OPN和视神经炎之间的临床差异.虽然大多数OPN的病例是特发性的,但仍需进行调查以排除特异性感染和继发性OPN的炎症原因.MRI是非常重要的检查方法,由于OPN视神经周围炎症的影像学诊断.糖皮质激素治疗可使症状与体征迅速好转,长期口服糖皮质激素并慢速递减可以降低复发的风险.     

Targeted therapies in the treatment of pancreatic carcinoma

Pancreatic carcinoma is the fifth leading cause of cancer deaths in the western world. Although some progress has been made in the clinical management of pancreatic cancer, surgical resection remains the only potentially curative treatment. New strategies are urgently needed for the treatment of this disease. Advances in knowledge in genetics and molecular biology have led to the development of novel treatments targeting specific molecules. Todate, the results obtained with these new drugs have not been superior to those observed with conventional chemotherapy. In the present article we review some of the new therapies for pancreatic cancer such as the use of inhibitors of epidermal growth factor receptors, the inhibitors of metalloproteases of the extracellular matrix, the inhibitors of farnesyltransferase, and the use of anti-angiogenic treatment. Acquired ichthyosis as a paraneoplastic syndrome in Hodgkin’s disease

An 80-year-old man was admitted to hospital with low-grade fever, weight loss, asthenia and anorexia. Physical examination revealed generalised ichthyosis with palmoplantar hyperkeratosis. CT scan showed retroperitoneal and inguinal lymph node enlargement. An inguinal lymph node biopsy revealed Hodgkin’s disease (nodular-sclerosing subtype). The patient received chemotherapy, showing a clear improvement of both skin lesions and lymph nodes.     

Meroditerpenoids and derivatives from the brown alga Cystoseira baccata and their antifouling properties

The brown alga Cystoseira baccata harvested along the Atlantic coasts of Morocco yielded seven new meroditerpenoids (1-4) and derivatives (5-7), whose chemical structures were elucidated mainly by 2D NMR and mass spectrometry. Surprisingly, for all these compounds, which possess a bicyclo[4.3.0]nonane ring system, a trans fusion of the bicyclic system was deduced by stereochemical studies even though such compounds isolated from Cystoseira species are known to have a typical cis orientation for the bridgehead methyls. The antifouling and antibacterial activities of compounds 1-5 and 7 were evaluated, as well as their toxicity toward nontarget species. Compounds 4, 5, and 7 showed antifouling activities against growth of microalgae, macroalgal settlement, and mussel phenoloxidase activity, while being nontoxic to larvae of sea urchins and oysters.     

Cembrane diterpenes from the gorgonian Leptogorgia laxa

The new cembrane diterpenes leptodienone A (2) and leptodienone B (3) and the known compounds lopholide, lophodiol B, lophodione, and lophotoxin (1) have been isolated from the gorgonian Leptogorgia laxa collected in the Gulf of California. The structures of the new metabolites have been established by spectroscopic techniques. The in vitro cytotoxicity of the new compounds has been tested against three human tumor cell lines.
