Monitoring of blood lead level in young children using new mode of liquid phase microextraction and graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry

Abstract

A new extraction method has been developed for the determination of blood lead level (BLL) in children. The population studied in this study was the children between 1 and 6?years old from Kermanshah, Iran. To prepare the plasma sample, ZnSO₄ and acetonitrile were used. The results of this survey showed the BLL was lower than the allowed limit, this process can be problematic in the long run as lead in the blood increases in children with aging. Moreover, the blood lead concentration was higher in urban kids than rural ones due to the air pollutions in the city, more contact to plastic toys and building paints.     

Bell's palsy after Sputnik V COVID‐19 (Gam‐COVID‐Vac) vaccination

A possible association between Bell''s palsy and COVID‐19 vaccination has been suggested previously. Here, we report two cases of facial nerve hemiparalysis following the Sputnik V COVID‐19 vaccination in a 27‐year‐old female patient and a 58‐year‐old male patient who were both clinically diagnosed with Bell''s palsy.
