This article reviews recent developments in health care law, focusing on controversy at the intersection of health care law and culture. Porous silicon samples have been reduced in nanometric particles by a well known industrial mechanical process, the ball grinding in a planetary mill; the process has been extended to crystalline silicon for comparison purposes. The silicon nanoparticles have been studied by X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, gas porosimetry and transmission electron microscopy. We have estimated crystallites size from about 50 nm for silicon to 12 nm for porous silicon. The specific surface area of the powders analyzed ranges between 100 m2/g to 29 m2/g depending on the milling time, ranging from 1 to 20 h. Electron microscopy confirms the nanometric size of the particles and reveals a porous structure in the powders obtained by porous silicon samples which has been preserved by the fabrication conditions. Chemical functionalization during the milling process by a siloxane compound has also been demonstrated. 相似文献

This article examines research on hypnosis and suggestion, starting with the nineteenth-century model proposed by Enrico Morselli (1852–1929), an illustrious Italian psychiatrist and psychologist. The authors conducted an original psychophysiological analysis of hypnosis, distancing the work from the neuropathological concept of the time and proposing a model based on a naturalistic approach to investigating mental processes. The issues investigated by Morselli, including the definition of hypnosis and analysis of specific mental processes such as attention and memory, are reviewed in light of modern research. From the view of modern neuroscientific concepts, some problems that originated in the nineteenth century still appear to be present and pose still-open questions. 相似文献

AbstractMaple syrup of four grades (extra-light, light, medium, and dark) of the 2007 crop was provided by three local (St. Joseph's Island, Ontario, Canada) producers. Twenty-four phenolic compounds were isolated from a medium-grade syrup and identified on the basis of spectral and chemical evidence. They were (a) benzoic acid and several hydroxylated and methoxylated derivatives (gallic acid, 1-O.-galloyl-β-d-glucose, γ-resorcylic acid); (b) cinnamic acid derivatives (p.-coumaric acid, 4-methoxycinnamic acid, caffeic acid, ferulic acid, sinapic acid, and the ester chlorogenic acid); (c) flavonoids, the flavanols catechin and epicatechin, and the flavonols kaempferol and its 3-O.-β-d-glucoside, 3-O.-β-d-galactoside, quercetin and its 3-O.-β-d-glucoside, 3-O.-β-L-rhamnoside and 3-O.-rhamnoglucoside (rutin). Traces obtained at 280 and 350 nm in HPLC runs of the ethyl acetate–soluble fractions of eight samples indicated the presence of many more phenolic substances, most at very low concentration with some varibilities in peak heights, but not in retention times, among the syrups. In view of the well-established antioxidant activity these substances possess, it is suggested that it is the complexity of the mixture rather than any one compound that may serve to counter the unhealthful presence of the high concentration of sugars in the syrup. 相似文献
