利用口述史料研究中国近现代史的可能性——以山西省盂县日军性暴力研究为例

近年来,虽然遭遇阻力,但日本国内对于中日战争时期日军在华实施性暴力的调查、研究工作还是取得了重要进展。以石田米子为中心的调查小组经过长期不懈的努力,对当年日军在山西省盂县实施性暴力的事实进行了确证和揭露。本文在介绍石田小组的工作及其意义的同时,还对战时日军的性暴力活动进行了分类,并结合史学理论探讨了利用口述史料研究中国近现代史的意义与可能性。     

A case of parathyroid hormone-related peptide producing gallbladder carcinoma presenting humoral hypercalcemia of malignancy]

Humoral hypercalcemia of malignancy (HHM) in neoplastic syndrome has been most commonly reported in squamous cell carcinoma. Gallbladder carcinoma with HHM is uncommon. In this report, we describe a male case of gallbladder carcinoma with marked hypercalcemia and a high level of serum parathyroid hormone-related peptide (PTHrP). An immunohistochemical examination using PTHrP was also positive.     

Formation of Neurons in the Sexually Dimorphic Anteroventral Periventricular Nucleus of the Preoptic Area of the Rat: Effects of Prenatal Treatment with Testosterone Propionate

An examination was made of neurogenesis in the anteroventral periventricular nucleus (AVPv) of the preoptic area of the rat using bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU), a thymidine analog, and a BrdU-specific antibody. Cells in the AVPv of adult rats were labeled with the antibody when BrdU was injected into pregnant rats once during day 13 to 18 of gestation, but not during day 10 to 12 nor 19 to 20 of gestation nor on postnatal day 1, indicating that neurogenesis of the AVPv occurs during a limited period from day 13 to 18 of gestation. Next, to examine the effects of androgen on neurogenesis, BrdU was injected once on day 15 into pregnant rats that also received injections of testosterone propionate (TP). The number of BrdU-labeled cells in the AVPv was similar in control female and male fetuses and female fetuses from pregnant rats that received daily injections of TP during days 14 to 16, when fetuses were examined on day 17 of gestation. These results suggest that the neurogenesis that was recognized by labeling with BrdU was not affected by the treatment with TP. On day 21 of gestation, BrdU-labeled cells in the AVPv of control male fetuses and female fetuses that received TP during days 14 to 18 were fewer in number than those in female fetuses of the control group, whereas treatments with TP during days 14 to 16 and during days 17 to 18 did not cause any significant decrease in number of BrdU-labeled cells. These findings support the hypothesis that elimination of a population of cells, for example, by cell death as described previously, is enhanced in male fetuses and in female fetuses treated with TP repetitively.     

New analogues of rosaramicin isolated from a Micromonospora strain. I. Taxonomy, fermentation, isolation and physico-chemical and biological properties

Antibiotics 6108 A1, B, C and D, a new series of analogues of rosaramicin, were found together with rosaramicin, juvenimicin A4 and M-4365 A1 from the cultured broth of strain BA06108 which was assigned to be a new species of Micromonospora. 6108 A1 and C showed inhibitory activity against Gram-positive and some Gram-negative bacteria as potent as rosaramicin and exhibited low acute toxicity in mice. However, 6108 B showed less potent antimicrobial activity and 6108 D showed higher toxicity than those two antibiotics.     

Dissecting aneurysm of the vertebral artery as a cause of Wallenberg's syndrome

Although it is well known that Wallenberg's syndrome is caused by occlusion of the vertebral artery (VA) or the posterior inferior cerebellar artery (PICA), the etiology of the occlusion is rarely documented. During the course of Wallenberg's syndrome, patients often complain of headache. We thought that these headaches might be caused by dissecting aneurysm (DA) of the vertebral artery, and so we studied the incidence of DA in our cases with Wallenberg's syndrome. Although many variants exist, Wallenberg's syndrome encompasses several neurological symptoms due to a disorder of the nucleus and nerve tracts located in the lateral part of the medulla. We diagnosed our patients as having Wallenberg's syndrome on the basis of symptoms such as loss of pain and temperature sensation in the unilateral face and contralateral body, cerebellar ataxia, and dysphasia. We investigated 22 cases of Wallenberg's syndrome over a five-year period, and excluded patients who developed subarachnoid hemorrhage upon onset of the syndrome. Our cases can be divided into two groups; one with severe stenosis or occlusion of VA (n = 15) and the other with occlusion of PICA (n = 5). The angiograms of the two remaining patients showed no abnormal findings. The mean age of the VA group (42.5 yrs.) was younger than that of the PICA group (64.2 yrs.). The age distribution of the PICA group is similar to that of other occlusive cerebrovascular diseases. Seven cases of the VA group demonstrated aneurysmal dilatation and luminal stenosis, and so they were diagnosed as having dissecting aneurysm of VA.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)     

Time course of superoxide generation by leukocytes—The MCLA chemiluminescence system

This study was performed to examine the pattern of Superoxide (O ₂ ^– ·) generation from leukocytes using the O ₂ ^– · specific chemiluminescence (CL) method.Cypridina luciferin analog, 2-methyl-6-(p-methoxyphenyl)-3,7-dihydroimidazo[1,2-alpha]pyrazin-3-one (MCLA) was used as a CL probe. The appropriate conditions of the MCLA method was first determined for the evaluation of the time course of O ₂ ^– · generation by leukocytes. The time course of O ₂ ^– · generation obtained by the MCLA-CL system was compared with that by the luminol-dependent CL, electron spin resonance (ESR)/spin trapping, and cytochromec systems. Following stimulation by three different stimulants (PMA, OZ, FMLP), leukocytes continuously generated O ₂ ^– · for up to 5 h in the MCLA-CL system, irrespective of the kind of stimulation. The curves obtained by generation ceased more rapidly in the luminol-CL, ESR/spin trapping, and cytochromec systems. A 50% activity of the initial value was observed at 70 min in the MCLA-CL system, but 30, 10 and 35 min in the other systems, respectively. The CL or O ₂ ^– · generation value decreased to less than 1% (possible termination) at 300, 90, 120 and 180 min, respectively. With the exception of ESR studies with OZ, the cell viability was not significantly affected in any of the trials. These results indicate that leukocytes can generate O ₂ ^– · much longer than previously estimated and that the MCLA-CL-system is the most suitable system for the measurement of the O ₂ ^– · generation by leukocytes.     

Alternative Expression of a Chitosanase Gene Produces Two Different Proteins in Cells Infected withChlorellaVirus CVK2

SeveralChlorellavirus CVK2 proteins had chitosanase and/or chitinase activities. A gene coding for an ORF of 328 amino acids (aa) with a predicted molecular mass of 36,769 Da was cloned from the viral genome. The predicted amino acid sequence of an N′-portion (174 aa) of this gene product (vChta-1) showed 22 to 25% identity with various bacterial chitosanases. A glutathioneS-transferase (GST)–vChta-1 fusion protein had strong chitosanase activity. Western blot analysis with antisera raised against the vChta-1 protein identified two proteins of 37 and 65 kDa in virus-infectedChlorellacells beginning at 240 min postinfection and continuing until cell lysis. The larger protein was packaged in the virion, while the smaller one remained in the cell lysate. Both chitosanase proteins were produced from the single gene,vChta-1,by a mechanism of alternative gene expression.     

Pathogenesis of Mucocutaneous Lesions in Behçet's Disease

Behcet's disease (BD) is characterized by recurrent oral aphthae, skin lesions, eye lesions, and genital ulceration. To determine the pathogenesis of BD, we performed histological and immunohistochemical studies of these mucocutaneous lesions, an assay of neutrophil activity, and HLA typing. Dense dermal or subcutaneous infiltrations of polymorphonuclear cells (PMN) without leukocytoclastic vasculitis were found in 28 of 57 lesions. Immunohistochemically, deposits of C3 on the vessels were found in 12 of 31 lesions. Deposits of immunoglobulin were not found except for one of IgM. C3 deposits and PMN infiltrations were significantly related (p<0.05). PMN activity by polarization was enhanced; however, the results did not show a significant relationship with the PMN infiltrations or the C3 deposits. The incidence of HLA-B51 was significantly high in BD, but no significant relationship was found between HLA-B51 and the results of other examinations. These results suggest that the pathogenesis of BD lesions differs from that of collagen diseases and that C3 deposits on the vessels may play an important role in the development of mucocutaneous lesions where PMN have mainly infiltrated.     

Classification of human liver transplant recipients by their preoperative CD8+ T cell subpopulation and its relation to outcome.

The primed status of T cells is markedly different among liver transplant recipients, due to a lifetime of antigen exposure and reduced thymopoiesis by aging, and diseases. This study aims to characterize the preoperative immunological status of CD8+ T cell subpopulations and relate it to the outcome for liver transplant recipients. We classified 112 liver transplant recipients into 5 groups, based on hierarchical clustering of the CD8+CD45 isoform proportion of T cells. In Groups I and II (pediatric), the naive T cell proportion was more than 50%. In adult recipients, Group III was characterized by a naive T cell proportion of 50%, Group IV had the greatest effector/memory T cells (EM), and Group V had the greatest proportion of effector T cells. In Groups IV and V, the effector T cell proportion was considerably higher, and was accompanied by marked downregulation of the CD27+CD28+ subsets and upregulation of interferon gamma (IFN)-gamma, tumor necrosis factor-alpha, and perforin expression. Group V recipients tended to be complicated postoperatively, with a significantly reduced survival rate (1 yr, 66.8%) and markedly reduced Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status.
