Summary. A virus, named Oya virus, was isolated in Vero cell cultures from the lungs of a pig suspected of Nipah virus infection.
The virus was revealed as a spherical enveloped RNA virus with a diameter of 79 nm. For identification of Oya virus, RT-PCR
was performed. A common primer set for S-RNA of the Simbu serogroup of the genus Bunyavirus was able to amplify a cDNA from Oya virus RNA. The sequence data of the product revealed that the partial gene of Oya virus
S-RNA segment had 65–70% homology with published cDNA sequences of Simbu serogroup viruses. The phylogenetic analysis of the
data showed that the Oya virus is grouped in Simbu serogroup, but is genetically distinct from the serogroup viruses that
have been analyzed molecularly. Serological surveys revealed that the virus distributed widely and densely in Malaysia.

In this work, the catalytic deoxygenation of waste cooking oil (WCO) over acid–base bifunctional catalysts (NiLa, NiCe, NiFe, NiMn, NiZn, and NiW) supported on activated carbon (AC) was investigated. A high hydrocarbon yield above 60% with lower oxygenated species was found in the liquid product, with the product being selective toward n-(C15 + C17)-diesel fractions. The predominance of n-(C15 + C17) hydrocarbons with the concurrent production of CO and CO2, indicated that the deoxygenation pathway proceeded via decarbonylation and decarboxylation mechanisms. High deoxygenation activity with better n-(C15 + C17) selectivity over NiLa/AC exposed the great synergistic interaction between La and Ni, and the compatibility of the acid–base sites increased the removal of oxygenated species. The effect of La on the deoxygenation reaction performance was investigated and it was found that a high percentage of La species would be beneficial for the removal of C–O bonded species. The optimum deoxygenation activity of 88% hydrocarbon yield with 75% n-(C15 + C17) selectivity was obtained over 20% of La, which strongly evinced that La leads to a greater enhancement of the deoxygenation activity. Objectives:To evaluate the impact of coronavirus-19 (COVID-19) pandemic and its consequences on general surgery residents.Methods:Cross-sectional, survey based study including surgical residents in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Kingdom of Bahrain.Results:Surgical trainees who participated in our survey (n=234) were young (mean age 28), single (53.8%), and males (65.8%). Approximately half (50.4%) have been deployed to cover the staff shortage in intensive care units (ICUs) or emergency departments (EDs). Half of our trainees (117) scored positive in the screening tool of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). There was a significant association between experiencing anxiety and male gender (p=0.055), level of training (p=0.002), deployment to cover ICUs (p=0.050), testing positive for COVID-19 (p=0.054) and having an infected family member (p=0.004).Conclusion:Coronavirus-19 pandemic has a serious effect on all healthcare workers and surgical residents have experienced a considerable amount of stress. Accordingly, this psychological burden should be appropriately addressed in organizations planning strategies. We suggest formulating guidelines to help surgical trainees to continue their learning process with least psychological burden. 相似文献

Nanoemulsions have emerged as novel vehicles for drug delivery that allow sustained or controlled release for topical application. In this study, kojic acid ester-based nanoemulsion (KAE-NA) was analyzed for in vitro permeation evaluation, kinetic release study, in vitro antimicrobial activity and in vivo toxicity profile on embryonic zebrafish (Danio rerio). Based on KAE-NA in vitro permeation evaluation, the percentage of permeation was significantly improved from 4.94% at 1 h to 59.64% at 8 h of application. The permeation rate of KAE-NA at 8 h was 4659.50 μg cm−2 h−1 (initial concentration, C0 = 2000 μg mL−1) with a permeability coefficient (Kp) value of 0.48 cm h−1. The kinetic release analysis showed the Korsmeyer–Peppas model was the best fitted kinetic model with high linearity [R2 = 0.9964]. Antimicrobial activity of KAE-NA was studied against the skin pathogen bacteria Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 43300. The results indicated that the inhibition zone size of the KAE-NA (8.00 ± 0.0 mm) was slightly bigger than that of its active ingredient, kojic acid ester (6.5 ± 0.0 mm). The toxicity profile of KAE-NA on embryonic zebrafish revealed less toxicity with LC50 (50% lethal concentration) more than 500 μg mL−1. The survival rate of the embryonic zebrafish was more than 80% when treated at doses ranging from 7.81–250 μg mL−1 and showed normal development throughout the experiment without any observed deformation. Dendritic fibromyxolipoma (DFML), a rare, recently described distinct benign soft tissue tumor, has many clinicopathological features reminiscent of spindle cell lipoma and solitary fibrous tumor with myxoid change. It is distinguished histologically from both entities by the presence of spindle and stellate cells with dendritic cytoplasmic prolongations, prominent myxoid stroma with abundant keloidal collagen and occasional small plexiform vascular proliferation. We describe a case of histologically confirmed DFML of the left shoulder in a 67‐year‐old male, in which subsequent cytogenetic analysis revealed deletion involving 13q14.3 region in all the tumor cells, typically detected in spindle cell lipoma. In the presence of many clinicopathological similarities between DFML and spindle cell lipoma including chromosomal abnormalities, we postulate that DFML is merely a rare variant of spindle cell lipoma with extensive myxoid degeneration, and may not be considered as a separate entity.
