The excellent overall performance of polyoxymethylene (POM) fiber enables it to show great potential for engineering applications. The effect of POM fibers on the dynamic compression mechanical properties of concrete is an important issue for its application in engineering structures such as airport pavement and bridges. It is necessary to investigate the dynamic compressive mechanical properties of POM-fiber-reinforced concrete (PFRC) under impact loading. The PFRC specimens with various POM fiber lengths (6, 8, 12, 16, and 24 mm) and ordinary-performance concrete (OPC) specimens were tested by utilizing the split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB). We studied the effect of fiber length and strain rate on the dynamic compression mechanical properties of PFRC and established a damage dynamic constitutive model for PFRC. The results indicate that the dynamic compressive strength, peak strain, ultimate strain, dynamic peak toughness, dynamic ultimate toughness, and dynamic increase factor (DIF) of the PFRC increased obviously with the increase in strain rate. POM fiber was found to be able to effectively improve the deformation ability and impact toughness of concrete. The dynamic compressive strength and impact toughness of PFRC with a fiber length of 8 mm was optimal at different strain rates. The POM fibers with 16 mm and 24 mm lengths negatively affected the dynamic compressive strength of the concrete. The fiber length variation had an insignificant effect on the DIF of PFRC. The established damage dynamic constitutive model for PFRC was fitted and analyzed, and it was found that the model is able to describe the dynamic characteristics of PFRC well. This study can extend POM fibers to engineering structures that may be subjected to impact loading and act as a reference for the design of PFRC under impact loading.  相似文献

In order to study the durability of concrete materials subjected to sulfate attack, in a sulfate attack environment, a series of concrete tests considering different fly ash contents and erosion times were conducted. The mechanical properties and the micro-structure of concrete under sulfate attack were studied based on the following: uniaxial compressive strength test, split tensile test, ultrasonic impulse method, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The mechanical properties were compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, and relative dynamic elastic modulus, respectively. Additionally, according to the damage mechanical theory, experimental results and micro-structure analysis, the damage evolution process of concrete under a sulfate attack environment were studied in detail. Finally, according to the sulfate attack time and fly ash content, a damage model of the sulfate attack of the binary surface was established. The specific results are as follows: under the action of sulfate attack, the change law of the rate of mass change, relative dynamic modulus of elasticity, corrosion resistance coefficient of compressive strength, and the corrosion resistance coefficient of the splitting tensile strength of concrete all increase first and then decrease. Under the same erosion time, concrete mixed with 10% fly ash content has the best sulfate resistance. Through data regression, the damage evolution equation of the sulfate attack was developed and there is an exponential function relationship among the different damage variables. The binary curved surface regression effect of the concrete damage and the erosion time and the amount of fly ash is significant, which can predict deterioration of concrete damage under sulfate attack. During the erosion time, the combined expansion of ettringite and gypsum caused micro cracks. With an increase of corrosion time, micro cracks developed and their numbers increased.  相似文献

To explore the basic mechanical properties and size effects of recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) with different substitution ratios of coarse recycled concrete aggregates (CRCAs) to replace natural coarse aggregates (NCA), the failure modes and mechanical parameters of RAC under different loading conditions including compression, splitting tensile resistance and direct shear were compared and analyzed. The conclusions drawn are as follows: the failure mechanisms of concrete with different substitution ratios of CRCAs are similar; with the increase in substitution ratio, the peak compressive stress and peak tensile stress of RAC decrease gradually, the splitting limit displacement decreases, and the splitting tensile modulus slightly increases; with the increase in the concrete cube’s side length, the peak compressive stress of RAC declines gradually, but the integrity after compression is gradually improved; and the increase in the substitution ratio of the recycled aggregate reduces the impact of the size effect on the peak compressive stress of RAC. Furthermore, an influence equation of the coupling effect of the substitution ratio and size effect on the peak compressive stress of RAC was quantitatively established. The research results are of great significance for the engineering application of RAC and the strength selection of RAC structure design.  相似文献

Epoxy polymer concrete (EPC) is widely applied in engineering for its excellent mechanical properties. The impact loads and severe climatic conditions such as ultraviolet radiation, temperature change and rain erosion are in general for its engineering practice, potentially degrading the performance of EPC. In this paper, a procedure of accelerated aging for EPC, imitating the aging effect of ultraviolet radiation and hygrothermal conditions based on the meteorological statistics of Guangzhou city, was designed. After various periods of accelerated aging, the dynamic behaviors of EPC were studied by using a Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB). The verification of the experimental data was performed. The two-stage dynamic compression stress-strain curves were obtained: (a) linear growth stage following by strain hardening stage at impact velocity 12.2 m/s and 18.8 m/s, (b) linear growth stage and then a horizontal stage when impact velocity is 25.0 m/s, (c) linear growth stage following by strain softening stage at impact velocity 29.2 m/s. The experimental results show that the specimens after longer accelerated aging tend to be more easily broken, especially at impact velocity 12.2 m/s and 18.8 m/s, while the strain rate is the main factor affecting the compression strength and stiffness. Ultimately the influence of strain rate and equivalent aging time on dynamic increase factor was revealed by a fitting surface.  相似文献

Concrete will deteriorate and damage under sulfate attack.In order to study the degradation characteristics of HDC under sulfate attack, the mechanical properties of high-ductility concrete (HDC) were investigated using the uniaxial compressive strength test of HDC specimens soaked in different concentrations of sulfate solution and subjected to different times of dry–wet cycles. The variations in the compressive strength, loss rate of compressive strength, and the max compressive strength under the action of sulfate attack and dry–wet cycles were analyzed. The analytical expressions of damage variables were given. SEM was used to observe the microstructure of the sample, and the microdamage mechanism of the HDC was explored. The deterioration of the HDC was found to be the result of the combined action of sulfate attack and dry–wet cycles and was caused by physical attack and chemical attack. PVA prevented the rapid development of deterioration. On the basis of the change of compressive strength, the damage variable was established to quantitatively describe the degree of damage to HDC. The experimental results showed that with the increase in the number of dry–wet cycles, the compressive strength of HDC generally increased first and then decreased. As the concentration of the sulfate solution increased, the loss rate of the compressive strength of HDC generally increased and the max compressive strength gradually decreased. With the increase inthe number of dry–wet cycles, HDC first showed self-compacting characteristics and then gradually became destroyed. Compared with ordinary concrete (OC), HDC is superior to OC in sulfate resistance and dry–wet cycles. This study provided a test basis for the engineering application of HDC in sulfate attack and dry–wet cycles environment.  相似文献

Polymer-modified concrete and fiber concrete are two excellent paving materials that improve the performance of some concrete, but the performance of single application material is still limited. In this paper, polymer-modified concrete with strong deformation and fiber concrete with obvious crack resistance and reinforcement effect were compounded by using the idea of composite material design so as to obtain a high-performance pavement material. The basic mechanical properties of high-content hybrid fiber–polymer-modified concrete, such as workability, compression, flexural resistance, and environmental durability (such as sulfate resistance) were studied by using the test regulations of cement concrete in China. The main results were as follows. (1) The hybrid fiber–polymer concrete displayed reliable working performance, high stiffness, and a modulus of elasticity as high as 35.93 GPa. (2) The hybrid fiber–polymer concrete had a compressive strength of 52.82 MPa, which was 31.2% higher than that of the plain C40 concrete (40.25 MPa); the strength of bending of the hybrid concrete was 11.51 MPa, 191.4% higher than that of the plain concrete (3.95 MPa). (3) The corrosion resistance value of the hybrid fiber–polymer concrete was 81.31%, indicating its adjustability to sulfate attack environments. (4) According to cross-sectional scanning electron microscope (SEM) images, the hybrid fiber–polymer concrete was seemingly more integrated with a dense layer of cementing substance on its surface along with fewer microholes and microcracks as when compared to the ordinary concrete. The research showed that hybrid fiber–polymer concrete had superior strength and environmental erosion resistance and was a pavement material with superior mechanical properties.  相似文献

In this paper, the mechanical properties of coral concrete with different strength and different polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fiber content under compression were experimentally investigated. The results show that adding an appropriate amount of PVA fiber could obtain satisfactory mechanical properties of coral concrete. The stress–strain constitutive relationship of plain and PVA fiber-reinforced coral concrete was investigated by prism uniaxial compression test. The results shown that the incorporation of PVA fiber had a significant effect on limiting the development of concrete internal cracks, and effectively improved the mechanical properties of coral concrete after cracking, especially the toughness. Different constitutive models from previous research were used to describe the axial compressive stress–strain relationship of plain and PVA fiber-reinforced coral concrete, and a piecewise function model was finally selected which is most consistent with the experimental curve and its characteristic points. In addition, determination of critical parameters for the selected constitutive model was proposed, and experimental validations confirmed its accuracy.  相似文献

Compared with the conventional drainage strengthening techniques, the precast concrete segment assembly strengthening method (PCSAM) is regarded as a fast, more economical, and traffic-friendly underwater strengthening method for damaged bridge piers and piles, as the drainage procedure can be omitted. However, this method still has some disadvantages, such as strength loss of the filling material, debonding of the interface due to shrinkage of the filling material, poor connection effects, and poor durability of the segment sleeves. To solve these problems, the PCSAM is improved in this study by using self-stressed anti-washout concrete (SSAWC) as the filling material and by developing a lining concrete segment sleeve (LCSS) by referring to the design theory for shield lining segments. Six specimens are designed and prepared with consideration of the influential factors, such as the self-stress, thickness of the filled concrete, and concrete strength of the LCSS, then the monotonic axial compression test is carried out to investigate the improvements in the axial compression properties of the specimens. Accordingly, extended parametric analyses are performed based on the established numerical models. Finally, the calculation formula for the bearing capacity is proposed based on the analysis results. The results indicate that the SSAWC can provide initial confining compressive stress in the core region of the piers, in addition to increasing the bearing capacity and ductility of the specimens. The improved LCSS segment connection is more reliable and increases the strengthening efficiency. The influence of self-stress on the bearing capacity of the specimens is cubic and the influence of the filled concrete strength on the bearing capacity of the specimens is nonlinear. The calculation formula for predicting the bearing capacity of axially compressed columns possesses good applicability and can be used as a reference for practical engineering.  相似文献

Understanding the evolution of mechanical properties and microscopic pore structure of concrete after freeze–thaw cycles is essential to assess the durability and safety of concrete structures. In this work, the degradation law of mechanical properties and damage characteristic of micro-structure of concrete with two water-cement ratios (w/c = 0.45 and 0.55) is investigated under the condition of freezing–thawing cycles. The influence of loading strain rate on dynamic compressive strength is studied. The microscopic pore structure after frost damage is measured by low-field nuclear magnetic resonance (LF-NMR) technique. Then, a damage model based on the porosity variation is established to quantitatively describe the degradation law of macroscopic mechanical properties. The test results show that the relative dynamic modulus of elasticity (RDME), dynamic compressive strength, flexural strength, and splitting tensile strength of concrete decrease with the increase of freeze–thaw cycles. Empirical relations of concrete dynamic increase factor (DIF) under the action of freeze–thaw cycles are proposed. Moreover, the experimental results of NMR indicate that the porosity as well as the proportion of meso-pores and macro-pores of concrete gradually increased with the increasing of freeze–thaw cycles. The research results can provide reference and experimental support for the anti-frost design theory and durability life prediction of hydraulic concrete structures in cold regions.  相似文献

In order to enhance the corrosion resistance of concrete to chloride salt, 5% NaCl solution was used to corrode ordinary concrete (OC) and rubber concrete (RC) with 5%, 10%, and 15% rubber content, respectively. By testing the compressive strength, mass, chloride ion concentration at different depths and relative dynamic elastic modulus, the erosion mechanism was analyzed by means of SEM scanning and EDS patterns, and the mechanical properties and deterioration degree of ordinary concrete (OC) and rubber concrete (RC) under the corrosion environment of chloride salt were studied. The results show that: the quality of rubber mixed into concrete increases first and then decreases, and rubber can increase the compressive strength of concrete, improve its internal structure. At the same time, the mechanical properties of concrete in the corrosion environment of chloride salt are improved to a certain extent, and the deterioration degree is reduced. Considering the comprehensive performance of OC and RC in the dry–wet alternation mechanism under chloride salt corrosion, the best content of rubber is 10%.  相似文献

In order to study the workability and mechanical performance of high fluidity recycled concrete, parallel tests were carried out to prepare high fluidity recycled concrete by changing the amount of recycled aggregate (20%, 30%, 40%, 50% and 60%) and the sand ratio (0.37, 0.38, 0.39 and 0.40). The fluidity, compression strength, tensile strength and flexural strength of each mix were tested. The results show that the slump of a recycled concrete mixture is 120 mm when the content of recycled aggregate is less than 30%, and the mechanical strength satisfies the requirement of the high fluidity ordinary concrete. As the ratio of sand increases, the fluidity of the recycled concrete also improved. The best sand ratio is not consistent with the strength index. When the sand ratio is between 0.37 and 0.40 and the content of recycled aggregate is not more than 40%, the concrete of C60 can be prepared. Both the fluidity and the strength index can meet the design requirements and can be used in the practical engineering.  相似文献

Expanded polystyrene (EPS) concrete is commonly used as the core material of commercial sandwich panels (CSPs). It is environmentally friendly and lightweight but has poor strength. Adding fibers can improve the microstructure of EPS concrete and reduce the weakening effect of EPS beads on the mechanical properties of concrete. An orthogonal experimental design (OED) was used in this paper to analyze the influence of length and content of polypropylene fiber (PF), glass fiber (GF), and carbon fiber (CF) on the physical and mechanical properties and micromorphology of EPS concrete. Among them, CFs have the most apparent impact on concrete and produce the most significant improvements in all properties. According to the requirements of the flexural performance of CSPs, the splitting tensile strength was taken as the optimization index, and the predicted optimal combination (OC) of EPS concrete with fibers was selected. The variations in the material properties, mechanical properties, and microstructure with age were analyzed. The results show that with increasing age, the dry density, compressive strength, and splitting tensile strength of concrete are markedly improved relative to those of the CSP core material and the control case (CC), and even the degree of hydration is improved.  相似文献

With the premise of investigating mechanical properties, the thermal conductivity of autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) is a key index of self-insulation block walls for building energy conservation. This study focused on the effect of pore structures on the mechanical performance and thermal conductivity of AAC with the comparison of AAC base materials. Different kinds of AAC and their base materials were prepared and experimentally investigated. While maintaining a consistent mix proportion of the AAC base material, the pore structure of AAC was changed by the dosage of aluminum power/paste, foam stabilizer, and varying the stirring time of aluminum paste. The steam curing systems of AAC and the base material were determined based on SEM (Scanning Electronic Microscopy) and XRD (X-ray Diffraction) tests. With almost the same apparent density, the pore size decreased with the increasing content of foam stabilizer, and the mixing time of aluminum paste and foam stabilizer has a great influence on pore size. The thermal conductivity test and compressive test results indicated that that pore size had an effect on the thermal conductivity, but it had little effect on the compressive strength, and the thermal conductivity of sand aeration AAC was 8.3% higher than that of fly ash aeration AAC; the compressive strength was 10.4% higher, too. With almost the same apparent density, the regression mathematical model indicates that the thermal conductivity of AAC increased gradually with the increase of pore size, but it had little effect on the compressive strength. From the test results of basic mechanical properties, the mechanical model of cubic compressive strength, elastic modulus, axial compressive strength, and splitting tensile strength was obtained. The proposed stress–strain relationship model could well describe the relationship of AAC and the base material at the rising section of the curve.  相似文献

Ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) is a new type of high-performance cement-based composite. It is widely used in important buildings, bridges, national defense construction, etc. because of its excellent mechanical properties and durability. Freeze thaw and salt erosion damage are one of the main causes of concrete structure failure. The use of UHPC prepared with multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) is an effective method to enhance the durability of concrete structures in complex environments. In this work, the optimal mix proportion based on mechanical properties was obtained by changing the content of MWCNTs and water binder ratio to prepare MWCNTs UHPC. Then, based on the changes in the compressive strength, mass loss rate, and relative dynamic modulus of elasticity (RDME), the damage degree of concrete under different salt erosion during 1500 freeze-thaw (FT) cycles was analyzed. The changes in the micro pore structure were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). The test results showed that the optimum mix proportion at the water binder ratio was 0.19 and 0.1% MWCNTs. At this time, the compressive strength was 34.1% higher and the flexural strength was 13.6% higher than when the MWCNTs content was 0. After 1500 salt freezing cycles, the appearance and mass loss of MWCNTs-UHPC prepared according to the best ratio changed little, and the maximum mass loss was 3.18%. The higher the mass fraction of the erosion solution is, the lower the compressive strength and RDME of concrete after FT cycles. The SEM test showed that cracks appeared in the internal structure and gradually increased due to salt freezing damage. However, the microstructure of the concrete was still relatively dense after 1500 salt freezing cycles. The NMR test showed that the salt freezing cycle has a significant influence on the change in the small pores, and the larger the mass fraction of the erosion solution, the smaller the change in the proportion of pores. After 1500 salt freezing cycles, the samples did not fail, which shows that MWCNTs UHPC with a design service life of 150 years has good salt freezing resistance under the coupling effect of salt corrosion and the FT cycle.  相似文献

Gangue paste material is mainly composed of coal gangue with particle size, which is mixed with cement. Fly ash and additives can be added to change its performance. In this paper, the influence of each component on the mechanical properties of gangue paste material was studied by an orthogonal experiment. The conversion relationship among various indexes of mechanical properties of gangue paste material and the response surface prediction model were discussed. The results show that the mechanical properties of gangue paste materials are positively correlated with the content of cement, the content of fly ash and the mass concentration, which increase with the increase of the three factors, and show the primary and secondary relationship of the content of cement > the content of fly ash > the mass concentration. A response surface prediction model of mechanical property parameters is established, which includes the first order term of the influencing factors of gangue paste material and the first order interaction term between any two factors. In the response surface prediction model of uniaxial compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, cohesion and elastic modulus, the goodness of fit test coefficients are 0.998, 0.957, 0.970 and 0.997, respectively, which proves that the model has good goodness of fit. The research results provide basic parameters for paste filling mining practice, and also provide the basis for numerical simulation of filling body value.  相似文献

This work addresses how vibration stirring, steel-fiber volume ratio, and matrix strength affect the mechanical properties of steel-fiber-reinforced concrete. The goal of the work is to improve the homogeneity of steel-fiber-reinforced concrete, which is done by comparing the mechanical properties of steel-fiber-reinforced concrete fabricated by ordinary stirring with that fabricated by vibration stirring. The results show that the mechanical properties of steel-fiber-reinforced concrete produced by vibration mixing are better than those produced by ordinary mixing. The general trend is that the mechanical properties of steel-fiber concrete have a linear relationship with the matrix strength and the volume ratio of steel fiber. The best mechanical properties are obtained for a steel-fiber volume ratio of less than 1%. We have also established calculation models for the mechanical performance index of vibration, mixing steel-fiber concrete based on the test results. Microscopic studies show that vibration stirring optimizes the microstructure of the transition zone between the concrete interface and the slurry, and improves the homogeneity of the steel-fiber-reinforced concrete, and enhances the adhesion between the mixture components.  相似文献

The objective of this research was to study the effect of an optimal mechanical treatment method to reduce the mortar adhered on recycled aggregates (RCA) on the long-term mechanical properties and durability of concretes containing RCA at different replacement levels. It was found that concretes incorporating treated RCA exhibited sharper and more significant increase on 90- and 365-day compressive strengths than any other investigated mixture. The same mixtures also benefitted from a ‘shrinkage-controlling’ effect, where strains and mass losses were reduced by almost 15% and 10%, respectively, compared to the reference concrete. While sulfate resistance and carbonation resistance are predominantly defined by the hydration products available within the cement paste and not to a large extent by the aggregate type and quality, the incorporation of either treated or untreated RCA in concrete did not appear to expose RACs to significant durability threats.  相似文献

The paper presents a new method to study the dynamic mechanical properties of concrete under low pressure and a high strain rate via the inversion of spherical wave propagation. The dynamic parameters of rate-dependent constitutive relation of elastic concrete are determined by measured velocity histories of spherical waves. Firstly, the particle velocity time history profiles in the low stress elastic region at the radii of 100.6 mm, 120.6 mm, 140.6 mm, 160 mm, and 180.6 mm are measured in the semi-infinite space of concrete by using the mini-explosive ball and electromagnetic velocity measurement technology. Then, based on the universal spherical wave conservation equation and the fact that the accommodation relationship in state equation satisfies linear elastic law, the inverse problem analysis of spherical waves in concrete (called “NV + T0/SW”) is proposed, which can obtain the dynamic numerical constitutive behavior of concrete in three-dimensional stress by measuring the velocity histories. The numerical constitutive relation is expressed in the form of distortion, and it is found that the distortion law has an obvious rate effect. Finally, the rate-dependent dynamic parameters in concrete are determined by the standard linear solid model. The results show that the strain rate effect of concrete cannot be ignored with the strain rate range of 102 1/s. This study can provide a feasible method to determine the dynamic parameters of rate-dependent constitutive relation of concretes. This method has good applicability, especially in the study of the dynamic behavior of multicomponent composite materials with large-size particle filler.  相似文献

The aim of the research was to determine how the admixture of nanosilica affects the structure and mechanical performance of cement concrete exposed to high temperatures (200, 400, 600, and 800 °C). The structural tests were carried out on the cement paste and concrete using the methods of thermogravimetric analysis, mercury porosimetry, and scanning electron microscopy. The results show that despite the growth of the cement matrix’s total porosity with an increasing amount of nanosilica, the resistance to high temperature improves. Such behavior is the result of not only the thermal characteristics of nanosilica itself but also of the porosity structure in the cement matrix and using the effective method of dispersing the nanostructures in concrete. The nanosilica densifies the structure of the concrete, limiting the number of the pores with diameters from 0.3 to 300 μm, which leads to limitation of the microcracks, particularly in the coarse aggregate-cement matrix contact zone. This phenomenon, in turn, diminishes the cracking of the specimens containing nanosilica at high temperatures and improves the mechanical strength.  相似文献

This paper describes orthogonal experiments to investigat the effects of content of fly ash and slag, sol ratio, modulus of sodium silicate and expander on the compressive strength and shrinkage of alkali activated low-carbon green concrete (AAGC) of different ages. The microstructures and hydration product compositions of AAGC with different proportions were further studied by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and Mercury Intrusion Porosimetry (MIP). The results show that with an increase of fly ash content, the compressive strength of AAGC gradually decreases, the decline of compressive strength at 28 d is smaller than that of 7 d, and the shrinkage strain gradually increases at 28 d. As the sol ratio increases, the compressive strength increases first and then decreases. When the sol ratio is 0.42, the compressive strength is maximal at 28 d; the same is true for compressive strength at 7 d. Additionally, an increase of sol ratio can reduce the shrinkage strain at 28 d. Finally, when the sol ratio was 0.46, the shrinkage decreased by 30.5% compared with 0.40 at 28 d. As the modulus of sodium silicate (Ms) increases, the compressive strength first increases and then decreases. When Ms is 1.4, the compressive strength reaches the maximum. As Ms increases, the shrinkage strain decreases first and then increases at 28 d. When Ms is 1.0, the shrinkage strain is the maximum at 28 d. Finally, with an increase in the content of expander, the compressive strength decreases at 7 d and 28 d, and the shrinkage strain decreases at 28 d. The shrinkage strain at 28 d is the minimum with 9% content. AAGC mixed with a small amount of fly ash and expander has more hydration products and significantly reduced cracks. In addition, the proportion of small hole volume of AAGC increases, while the proportion of large hole volume decreases. AAGC mixed with fly ash and slag without expander has more unhydrated particles and its structure is loose.  相似文献
