For investigating the effect of acupuncture on ischemic arrhythmia and its mech-anism, adult albino rats with ligated anterior descending branch of coronary artery as experimentalmodel were treated with or without acupuncture, and others with imitative operation but without bothcoronary artery ligation and acupuncture treatment were used as control. It was found in acupuncturegroup that the fibrillation-liability of ischemic myocardium was efficiently decreased, the affinity ofAch-M receptors on membranes of ischemic myocardium was markedly increased, and the tolerance ofischemic myocardium to atropine was elevated in the experiment of atropine inducing fibrillation.These results indicate that acupuncture may play a therapeutic role on ischemic arrhythmia throughactivating the activity of muscarine-like receptors of cholinergic nervous system.

THE ULTRASTRUCTURE AND ENZYME HISTOCHEMISTRY OF THE SUBSTANTIA GELATINOSA OF RAT SPINAL CORD UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ELECTRO-ACUPUNCTURE ANALGESIA

Histochemistry and EM were used in this experiment to study the effect of EAon the spinal dorsal horn of rat. After 30 minutes EA, the pain threshold of EA rats were elevated400%, the acid phosphatase reaction in spinal dorsal horn of EA rats increased obviously, the roundagranular vesicles of the C-terminals of EA group was more than that of control's. The results sug-gested that the histochemical components and numbers of synaptic vesicles in SG and their functionscould be regulated by acupuncture.     

ANALYSIS OF FILIFORM NEEDLE ANALGESIA AND THE CONTENT OF SUBSTANCE P IN THE SERUM

We deterrnined the content of substance P in the serum of the patients with pain syn-drorne using radioimmunoassay before and after the acupuncture analgesia' The results suggested thatthe acupuncture rnight obviously reduce the content of substance P in the serum of the patients withpain syndrome. The results proved that the acupuncture analgesia might reduce the release of sub-stance P through some mechanism and produce effects of analgesia. Thereby, the change of the con-tent of substance P in the serum may be used as an objective index to appraise the acupuncture analge-sla.

THE EFFECT OF MOXIBUSTION ON THE CHANGES OF 5-HT AND IMMUNE FUNCTION OF RAT INFECTED WITH EHFV

Authors observated the effect of moxibustion on changes of 5-HT and immunefunction of rat infected with EHFV.The results show that moxibustion could enhance the phago-cytosis of peritoneal macrophage of rat infected with EHFV,increase the roset rate of RBC C_3brecptor,decrease the content of 5-HT in plasma.There is a significant dffeerence between EHFVinfected group and moxibustion group.That suggests the moxibustion could enhance the immunefunction of body,regulate the metablic disturbance of 5-HT in plasma,maintain the internal en-vironment of body and enhance the force of body to anti EHFV.Maybe that can play an impor-tant role in the mechanism of moxibustion treating EHF.
