您的糖尿病您的天地

5年前的今天,中国有了第一本由行业协会主办的国家级糖尿病教育杂志——《糖尿病天地》。尽管最初的《糖尿病天地》杂志很薄,封面很简单,内页都是黑白的,但是“您面对的不是一本杂志,而是一位医生”的宗旨却早已确立,在中国传播糖尿病知识的决心也早已坚定。     

无知的代价是惨痛的

知识有如人体血液一样宝贵。人缺了血液,身体就会衰弱;人缺少知识,头脑就会愚钝;病友缺少抵御糖尿病的知识,就会深深陷入“衰亡”的泥潭。     

伴随一生的简单易行的运动

一提到糖尿病,人们就不禁想到"五驾马车"。五驾马车之运动,不得不提,它是健身的良药。适当的体育锻炼可促进肌肉组织和其他组织利用葡萄糖,从而降低血糖和减少尿糖,并减少胰岛素用量。同时,运动还有助于增强组织细胞对胰岛素的敏感性,还可降低血中甘油三酯、游离脂肪酸,升高高密度脂蛋白,减少血管病变的发生发展。步行老话常说,饭后百步走,能活九十九。人们每天离不开走路。步行     

知识的源泉 精神的食粮

我今年78岁，患2型糖尿病6年。确诊糖尿病时，我精神萎靡，觉得患病之日即死亡之时，很是悲观。但也许是我运气好吧，在2001年11月份，我去测血糖时，突然发现了《糖尿病之友》杂志。自从知道了这本杂志，我就托别人帮我订阅，后来又变成我自己到邮局去订，并一直坚持至今。

衰老的经验性研究的思考

Complications of implantable sites

Approximately 50,000 implantable sites are prepared each year in France because of the undeniable advantage for the treatment of patients requiring long-duration intravenous infusions. The benefits of this technique must not overshadow the mechanical risks inherent in their installation and complications related to their use: infections, thromboembolic events. Clear, precise, and adapted treatment protocols must be established and rigorously implemented by the healthcare team. Information notes for the patients concerning the risks involved and warning signs must be written in order to be able to institute appropriate treatment rapidly.     

Genital sites of giant-cell arteritis

Temporal arteritis is one of the localisation of the giant cell arteritis. The involvement of the female genital tract had been rarely reported with only 16 cases in the literature. We report 3 cases revealed by a tumor of the genital tract. Histologic features are found in the vessels of ovaries, fallopian tubes and myometrium. Only one patient had symptoms suggestive of temporal arteritis.     

Leptin receptors are down-regulated in uterine implantation sites compared to interimplantation sites

Leptin is a circulating hormone that plays an important role in the regulation of metabolism, obesity, and reproduction. Leptin binds to its receptors on the cell membrane and is involved in the activation of STAT3. Recently, endometrium was suggested to be a novel target for leptin recently. We, therefore, examined the expression of leptin, leptin receptors, and STAT3 in the mouse uterus (implantation and interimplantation sites) to investigate the role of the leptin system during the early implantation period. Leptin mRNA was not detected in mouse uterine tissues or blastocysts, although adipose tissue, the positive control, showed a strong signal. Both of the receptor splice variants were expressed in the uterus and blastocysts, but the mRNA level was much lower in implantation sites compared to interimplantation sites. The mRNA expression of leptin receptors was determined to be higher in stromal cells than in the luminal epithelium using laser capture microdissection (LCM) analysis. Using immunohistochemistry, leptin was detected as a strong signal in the luminal epithelium and embryo, whereas the receptor was detected in subepithelial stromal cells rather than the luminal epithelium. As leptin itself was not detected by RT-PCR, the immunohistologically detected leptin may originate elsewhere, such as in adipose tissue. The differential expression of leptin receptors in implantation sites compared to interimplantation sites suggests that the leptin/leptin receptor system may be a delicate regulator of the implantation process.     

Synthesis and examination of antigenicity of four hormonogenic sites and two non-hormonogenic sites of human thyroglobulin

Four peptides (HTg-1, 1-10; HTg-2, 2547-2558; HTg-4, 2592-2603; HTg-6, 2737-2748) which contain hormonogenic acceptor tyrosine (Tyr) residues and two control peptides (HTg-3, 2582-2591; HTg-5, 2687-2694) of human thyroglobulin (Tg) were synthesized, radioiodinated and their binding with serial anti-human Tg antisera which had been raised in two rabbits (TG-1, TG-2) tested. Although increased binding of each of the six peptides was observed, HTg-4 and HTg-2 had higher binding whereas HTg-1 and HTg-6 showed lower binding with the immune gamma globulin from both rabbits. Each of the six peptides was iodinated with inorganic iodine (127I) using the chloramine-T method and the inhibitory activity of each peptide on the interaction between 125I-T4 and anti-Tg antibodies was tested. At the same time, Tg obtained from a normal thyroid tissue (NTg, iodine content 0.38%) and from a Hürthle cell adenoma (CTg, iodine content 0.000%) were also tested for inhibition of 125I-T4 binding. 125I-T4 binding with rabbit anti-Tg antisera was displaced not only by NTg and CTg but also by three out of four hormonogenic peptides. Among the three peptides, HTg-2 had the highest inhibitory activity, inhibiting 125I-T4 binding to the extent of 21.5% (TG-1) and 16.0% (TG-2). Two control peptides (HTg-3, HTg-5) did not inhibit 125I-T4 binding with anti-Tg antibodies.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)
