Objective

To determine the clinical, laboratory, serological and histologic characteristics of chronic hepatitis B virus carriers in our environment.

Material and methods

A retrospective cohort study was performed that included chronic AgHBs carriers aged more than 13 years attending our service since January 2000.

Results

A total of 474 patients were included. At diagnosis, 55.49% were men, with a mean age of 41.05±13.93 years. Alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels were within the normal range in 57.17% of the patients, and 87.76% were AgHBe(−). Hepatitis C and D virus coinfection was found in 3.62% and 1.86%, respectively. Liver biopsy was performed in 31.22%; varying grades of inflammation-fibrosis were found in 63.51% and cirrhosis was found in 12.84%. Compared with AgHBe(−) patients, those who were AgHBe(+) were younger and had greater disease activity. This difference was statistically significant. Patients in the immunotolerant phase were the least numerous (5.26%), while AgHBe(−) patients with chronic HBV infection were the most numerous (48.32%). Patients in the immunoreactive phase showed greater histological involvement (16.67% cirrhosis). A familial history of chronic HBV was found in 21.52%. The percentage of non-Spanish patients increased in the last few years and accounted for 18.78%.

Conclusion

Chronic HBV infection in our environment occurs mainly in middle-aged persons. GPT values are normal in more than 50%, most are AgHBe(−), and approximately half are inactive carriers. The incidence of chronic infection has increased in the non-Spanish population in recent years.  相似文献

Objective

The aim of this study was to assess whether measurement of hepatitis C virus RNA (HCV-RNA) at 12 weeks post-treatment could predict sustained virological response (SVR) to antiviral therapy for chronic hepatitis C (pegylated interferon alfa-2a and ribavirin) in HIV-co-infected patients.

Patients and methods

HIV-HCV co-infected patients were included if they completed a full course of anti-HCV therapy, achieved an end-of-treatment response and complied with the week +12 and +24 post-treatment follow-up schedule for serum HCV-RNA determination (Real-time HCV (Abbott, Wiesbaden, Germany) (lower limit of detection, 12 IU/ml).

Results

Forty out of 66 patients (61%) showed an end-of-treatment response. They were assessed in a follow-up visit at +12 and at +24 weeks post-treatment. Serum HCV-RNA was undetectable in 28 of them at +12 weeks, and 100% of these remained undetectable at 24 weeks post-treatment (the gold standard of (SVR). The positive predictive value was 100% (95% confidence interval, 98.21-100%).

Conclusion

Post-treatment follow-up to identify virological relapse could be shortened to 12 weeks, providing a new definition of sustained virological response.  相似文献

Introduction and objectives

Blood pressure measurement methods and conditions are determinants of hypertension diagnosis. A recent British guideline recommends systematic 24-h ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. However, these devices are not available at all health centers and they can only be used by 1 patient per day. The aim of this study was to test a new blood pressure recording method to see if it gave the same diagnostic results as 24-h blood pressure monitoring.

Methods

One-hour blood pressure monitoring under routine clinical practice conditions was compared with standard method of day time recording by analyzing the coefficient of correlation and Bland-Altman plots. The Kappa index was used to calculate degree of agreement. Method sensitivity and specificity were also analyzed.

Results

Of the 102 participants, 89 (87.3%) obtained the same diagnosis regardless of method, with high between-method agreement (κ= 0.81; 95% confidence interval, 0.71-0.91). We observed robust correlations between diastolic (r = 0.85) and systolic blood pressure (r = 0.76) readings. Sensitivity and specificity for the new method for diagnosing white coat hypertension were 85.2% (95% confidence interval 67.5%-94.1%) and 92% (95% confidence interval, 83.6%-96.3%), respectively.

Conclusions

One-hour blood pressure monitoring is a valid and reliable method for diagnosing hypertension and for classifying hypertension subpopulations, especially in white coat hypertension and refractory hypertension. This also leads to a more productive use of monitoring instruments.Full English text available from:www.revespcardiol.org/en  相似文献

Introduction and objectives

Resistant hypertension is a clinical problem because of its difficult management and increased morbidity and mortality. Catheter-based renal denervation has been demonstrated to improve control in these patients. The results of establishing a multidisciplinary unit for the implementation of renal denervation in the management of resistant hypertension are described.

Methods

A team of nephrologists and cardiologists created a protocol for patient selection, intervention, and follow-up. One hundred and ninety-seven patients with poorly controlled essential hypertension, despite taking 3 or more drugs, were included. The ablation technique previously described was supported by a navigator based on rotational angiography. Blood pressure at baseline and after follow-up was compared using the Wilcoxon test for paired samples.

Results

One hundred and eight patients (55%) with pseudo-resistant hypertension were excluded. The other 89 were given antialdosteronic drugs, to which 60 patients (30%) responded. The remaining 29 patients (15%) were candidates for denervation. Eleven patients, with blood pressure 164/99 mmHg and taking 4.4 antihypertensive drugs, were ablated. After 72 days of follow-up, systolic and diastolic blood pressure fell by 25 mmHg (P=.02) and 10 mmHg (P=.06), respectively. In 10 patients (91%) at least 1 drug was discontinued.

Conclusions

Renal denervation performed by a multidisciplinary team led to an improvement in blood pressure similar to previous studies, with a greater reduction of antihypertensive drugs.Full English text available from:www.revespcardiol.org/en.  相似文献

Introduction and objectives

Left ventricular torsion decreases during transmural myocardial ischemia, but the effect of exercise on left ventricular torsion has not been widely studied. We hypothesized that exercise-induced ischemia may impair left ventricular torsion. Therefore, our aim was to study the effects of exercise on left ventricular torsion in patients with an ischemic response to exercise echocardiography and in patients with a normal response.

Methods

A retrospective analysis was performed in 172 patients with ejection fraction ≥ 50% who were referred for exercise-echocardiography and studied by speckle imaging at rest, peak and postexercise. Torsion was defined as apical rotation – basal rotation (in degrees) / left ventricular length (in centimeters). A total of 114 patients had a normal exercise echocardiography and 58 patients had an ischemic response to exercise echocardiography.

Results

Patients with ischemic response to the test exhibited less basal rotation at peak exercise (+0.30° [2.39°] vs –0.65° [2.61°] in the normal group; P = .03), whereas peak apical rotation was similar (ischemic response to the test, 7.80° [3.51°]; normal response, 7.27° [3.28°]; P =.36). Torsion at peak exercise was also similar (1.07° [0.60°] in the ischemic response to the test group vs 1.16° [0.57°] in normal group; P =.37). A more impaired peak basal rotation was found in patients with anterior or anterior+posterior involvement (anterior ischemic response, +1.22° [2.45°]; anterior + posterior ischemic response, –0.20° [2.25°]; posterior ischemic response, –0.71° [1.96°]; normal response, –0.65° [2.60°]; P =.02).

Conclusions

Basal rotation at peak exercise is impaired in patients with an ischemic response to exercise echocardiography, particularly in those with anterior involvement. Apical rotation and torsion are similar to those in patients with normal exercise echocardiography.Full English text available from:www.revespcardiol.org/en  相似文献

Introduction and objectives

Few studies have used time-dependent correction to analyze the relationship between blood pressure and all-cause mortality, and to our knowledge none has been performed in older people from the Mediterranean area. This study aimed to estimate the relationship between baseline blood pressure and blood pressure as a time-dependent covariate with the risk of all-cause mortality in a population cohort of persons aged 65 or older in Spain.

Methods

Data were taken from the population-based study «Aging in Leganés» with 17 years of follow-up, launched in 1993 in a random sample (n=1560) of persons aged ≥65 years. Mortality was assessed in 2010. Cox proportional hazards models were fitted to examine the effects on mortality of blood pressure at baseline and of blood pressure as a time-dependent covariate.

Results

The lowest mortality was observed at baseline systolic blood pressure of 136 mmHg and time-dependent covariate value of 147 mmHg. The highest risk of mortality for time-dependent covariates occurred with systolic blood pressure<115 mmHg and >93 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure<80 mmHg. Diastolic blood pressure over 85 mmHg did not increase the risk of death.

Conclusions

Based on the dynamic association between blood pressure and mortality, a U-shaped relationship was found for systolic blood pressure and a negative relationship for diastolic blood pressure and all-cause mortality. The lowest mortality corresponded to a systolic blood pressure level slightly over the diagnostic hypertension value and suggests that a value of 140 mmHg is not adequate as a diagnostic and therapeutic threshold in an elderly population.Full English text available from:www.revespcardiol.org/en.  相似文献

Objective

To report a series of stenting procedures for the treatment of malignant superior vena cava (SVC) syndrome.

Material and methods

A review conducted from October 2005 to July 2013 retrieved 56 consecutive patients treated for symptomatic malignant SVC syndrome with stenting.

Results

SVC stenting was attempted in 56 patients (46 males, 10 females), aged 34-84 years (mean 59.3).The success rate was 49/57 (86%). Success was associated with the type of obstruction classified as: group 1 (a —SVC stenosis, or b —unilateral innominate vein occlusion with contralateral innominate vein stenosis and normal SVC), group 2 (SVC occlusion excluding bilateral innominate vein occlusion) and group 3 (bilateral innominate vein occlusion irrespective of SVC status). Success rates were 100% (39/39), 75% (9/12) and 16.6% (1/6), respectively. These differences were significant for group 1 versus group 2 + 3 (p < 0.001) and for group 2 versus group 3 (p = 0.032). Acute complications occurred in 9 patients. Patients in whom acute complications occurred were older than the others (67.8 vs. 57.6 years, p = 0.019). The procedure-related death rate was 3.5% (n = 2). Stent occlusion occurred in 3.5% (n = 2). The patient survival was poor (median 2.6; range < 1-29.6 months), independently of the success of stenting.

Conclusions

Stenting for malignant SVC syndrome provides immediate and sustained symptomatic relief that lasts until death in this set of patients with a short life expectancy and restores the central venous access for administration of chemotherapy. Technical failure was associated with SVC occlusions and primarily with bilateral innominate vein occlusion.  相似文献

Objective

To evaluate the utility of different ultrasonographic (US) features in differentiating benign and malignant lymph node (LN) by endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) and validate a score for real-time clinical application.

Methods

208 mediastinal LN acquired from 141 patients were analyzed. Six different US criteria were evaluated (short axis ≥ 10 mm, shape, margin, echogenicity, and central hilar structure [CHS], and presence of hyperechoic density) by two observers independently. A simplified score was generated where the presence of margin distinction, round shape and short axis ≥ 10 mm were scored as 1 and heterogeneous echogenicity and absence of CHS were scored as 1.5. The score was evaluated prospectively for real-time clinical application in 65 LN during EBUS procedure in 39 patients undertaken by two experienced operators. These criteria were correlated with the histopathological results and the sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values (PPV and NPV) were calculated.

Results

Both heterogenicity and absence of CHS had the highest sensitivity and NPV (≥ 90%) for predicting LN malignancy with acceptable inter-observer agreement (92% and 87% respectively). On real-time application, the sensitivity and specificity of the score > 5 were 78% and 86% respectively; only the absence of CHS, round shape and size of LN were significantly associated with malignant LN.

Conclusions

Combination of different US criteria can be useful for prediction of mediastinal LN malignancy and valid for real-time clinical application.  相似文献

Objective

To evaluate process-of-care indicators (inappropriate hospitalisation, suitability and early antibiotic treatment) and outcome indicators (length of hospital stay, hospital readmission, ICU admission, and mortality) in the management of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) when the SEPAR/IDSA guidelines were applied.

Patients and methods

An observational retrospective study conducted on patients diagnosed with CAP during the first semester of 2007 and 2008 (186 and 161 patients, respectively) in the emergency unit of a general hospital. Differences in the process-of-care and outcome indicators between 2007 and 2008 (with and without the Pneumonia Severity Index [PSI]) were evaluated. Moreover, the indicators were compared with those obtained in 2006 (110 patients), when the current guidelines were those of SEQ/ATS.

Results

The SEPAR/IDSA guidelines improved the following process-of-care indicators: appropriateness of treatment, unjustified hospital readmission (39.4% in 2006 vs. 8.5% in 2007 [P < .001], and 17,2% in 2008 [P = .005]), and early treatment. However, outcome indicators did not change. In 2008, a decrease in the mortality of the patients of risk classes IV-V in which the PSI had been estimated was observed in comparison with the patients in which the PSI was not estimated (2.3% vs. 28.3%; P < .001). Moreover, the mortality rate of the patients of risk classes IV-V in which the PSI had been estimated was lower than those measured using the SEQ/ATS guidelines (22.7%; P = .003).

Conclusion

SEPAR/IDSA guidelines decreased the unjustified hospital readmission. In the second year of its application an increase in the number of patients who received early treatment, and a decrease of the mortality rate of the patients of risk classes IV-V in which the PSI had been estimated, were also observed.  相似文献

Introduction

Neonatal sepsis is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality. Early diagnosis and prompt antimicrobial therapy are crucial for a favorable outcome of the newborn child. Blood culture, the current “gold standard” method for diagnosing bloodstream infections, has a low sensitivity in newborns. We evaluated the multiplex real-time PCR LightCycler® SeptiFast (LC-SF) for detection of bloodstream infections in newborns, compared with conventional blood culture.

Methods

A total of 42 blood samples were obtained from 35 subjects presenting with a febrile episode and hospitalized in neonatal intensive care unit at Hospital Universitario Virgen de las Nieves. Two samples were collected during each febrile episode in order to carry out LC-SF assay and blood culture, respectively.

Results

Sensitivity and specificity of 79% and 87%, respectively, compared with clinical diagnosis, were obtained for LC-SF. Contamination rate of blood cultures was 16.7%, mainly due to coagulase-negative staphylococci (CoNS) and viridans groups of streptococci. Contamination rate of LC-SF by CoNS was 2.4%. Concordance between LC-SF and blood culture was moderate (kappa index: 0.369). LC-SF demonstrated a higher concordance (kappa index: 0.729) with the final clinical diagnosis than blood culture (kappa index: 0.238).

Conclusion

LC-SF assay could be a useful diagnostic tool, along with a conventional blood culture, in newborn, for confirming or ruling out those cases that blood culture could not determine, shortening the time to result to 7 hours.  相似文献

Introduction

Transbronchial needle aspiration (TBNA) is a bronchoscopic technique that has been shown to be useful for sampling enlarged mediastinal lymph nodes. The yield of this technique can be increased by using endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) to guide needle placement. The aim of the present study was to compare the yield of radial EBUS-guided TBNA to that of conventional TBNA in the analysis of mediastinal lymph nodes.

Patients and Methods

All patients undergoing either EBUS-guided or conventional TBNA for the diagnosis of mediastinal lymph nodes between January 2006 and May 2007 were studied consecutively. Histology results were used as a reference standard in the patients treated surgically. In cases in which surgery was not indicated, the results of cytology or of clinical follow-up of at least 6 months duration were used.

Results

TBNA was performed in 117 patients, and a total of 143 lymph nodes were punctured (mean shortest [SD] diameter, 17.9 [8] mm). The samples obtained were diagnostic in 58 patients (49.6%) and in 70 lymph nodes (49.0%). For paratracheal and hilar stations, the yield of radial EBUS-guided TBNA was superior to that of conventional TBNA (59.2% compared to 34.1%, P=.02).

Conclusions

Radial EBUS guidance increases the diagnostic yield of TBNA in paratracheal and hilar lymph node stations.  相似文献

Introduction

The incidence of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and other sexually transmitted diseases increases in males who have sex with males (MSM), despite the knowledge on how to prevent them. To determine the mechanisms that are driving this lack of prevention is important to reverse the trend.

Patients and methods

An anonymous, voluntary and self-reporting questionnaire was completed by HIV+ MSM patients who were seen in a hospital clinic, with the aim of finding out the sexual risk practices and behaviour, as well as their perceptions and assessment as regards this risk. The questionnaire included 58 questions, divided into 10 sections, to explore the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviour as regards HIV. The questionnaires were also given to the physicians, with the aim of exploring their perceptions, attitudes and opinions as regards the situation of the epidemic, prevention, perception of the diseases and the patient, and values in clinical practice.

Results

A total of 495 questionnaires from the patients were analysed. Most of them (87%) said they knew how HIV was acquired, and 97% knew how to prevent it, but 69% knew they were in a risk situation, and 43% had little concern of contracting HIV. Almost two-thirds (65%) had sex with ≥ 2 persons on the same day, 47% met on the Internet and 26% had group sex. The same percentage of those surveyed considered that they acted impulsively. They highlighted a lack of information (33%), bad luck (32%), assumed excessive risk (36%), and lake of concern (25%), as the main reasons for acquiring the infection. When confronted with diagnosis 41% of patients answered «I never thought that it would happen to me», and 32% said «I had bad luck». Of the 121 physicians who completed the questionnaire, 24% considered that infection due to HIV/AIDS was out of control in Spain, and 65% responded that there was an image that HIV/AIDS was a controlled disease and of little concern. A large majority (71%) of those surveyed, considered that the increase in new infections showed that there was no suitable preventive plan.

Conclusions

The management of the risk of acquiring HIV maintains a low level of concern, due to the optimism produced by the advances in the fight against the disease and the current toning down of the discussion. The trivialisation of the risk, on distorting the idea of risky behaviour, is a determining factor of attitudes that makes it impossible to adopt effective preventive behaviour and to take sensible and anticipated decisions.  相似文献

Introduction

Noninvasive mechanical ventilation (NIV) appeared in the 1980s as an alternative to invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV) in patients with acute respiratory failure. We evaluated the introduction of NIV and the results in patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in the Region of Murcia (Spain).

Subjects and methods

A retrospective observational study based on the minimum basic hospital discharge data of all patients hospitalised for this pathology in all public hospitals in the region between 1997 and 2010. We performed a time trend analysis on hospital attendance, the use of each ventilatory intervention and hospital mortality through joinpoint regression.

Results

We identified 30.027 hospital discharges. Joinpoint analysis: downward trend in attendance (annual percentage change [APC] = −3.4, 95% CI: − 4.8; −2.0, P <.05) and in the group without ventilatory intervention (APC = −4.2%, −5.6; −2.8, P <.05); upward trend in the use of NIV (APC = 16.4, 12.0; 20. 9, P <.05), and downward trend that was not statistically significant in IMV (APC = −4.5%, −10.3; 1.7). We observed an upward trend without statistical significance in overall mortality (APC = 0.5, −1.3; 2.4) and in the group without intervention (APC = 0.1, −1.6; 1.9); downward trend with statistical significance in the NIV group (APC = −7.1, −11.7; −2.2, P <.05) and not statistically significant in the IMV group (APC = −0,8, −6, 1; 4.8). The mean stay did not change substantially.

Conclusions

The introduction of NIV has reduced the group of patients not receiving assisted ventilation. No improvement in results was found in terms of mortality or length of stay.  相似文献

Introduction and objectives

Patients with a current acute coronary syndrome and previous ischemic heart disease, peripheral arterial disease, or cerebrovascular disease are reported to have a poorer outcome than those without these previous conditions. It is uncertain whether this association with outcome is observed at long-term follow-up.

Methods

Prospective observational study, including 4247 patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction. Detailed clinical data and information on previous ischemic heart disease, peripheral arterial disease, and cerebrovascular disease («vascular burden») were recorded. Multivariate models were performed for in-hospital and long-term (median, 7.2 years) all-cause mortality.

Results

One vascular territory was affected in 1131 (26.6%) patients and ≥ 2 territories in 221 (5.2%). The total in-hospital mortality rate was 12.3% and the long-term incidence density was 3.5 deaths per 100 patient-years. A background of previous ischemic heart disease (odds ratio = 0.83; P = .35), peripheral arterial disease (odds ratio = 1.30; P=.34), or cerebrovascular disease (stroke) (odds ratio = 1.15; P = .59) was not independently predictive of in-hospital death. In an adjusted model, previous cerebrovascular disease and previous peripheral arterial disease were both predictors of mortality at long-term follow-up (hazard ratio = 1.57; P < .001; and hazard ratio = 1.34; P = .001; respectively). Patients with ≥ 2 diseased vascular territories showed higher long-term mortality (hazard ratio = 2.35; P < .001), but not higher in-hospital mortality (odds ratio = 1.07; P = .844).

Conclusions

In patients with a diagnosis of ST-segment elevation acute myocardial infarction, the previous vascular burden determines greater long-term mortality. Considered individually, previous cerebrovascular disease and peripheral arterial disease were predictors of mortality at long-term after hospital discharge.Full English text available from: www.revespcardiol.org/en  相似文献

Introduction

To know the prevalence of primary resistance in chronic hepatitis B naïve patients is essential to decide on the need of routine laboratory testing.

Patients and methods

The genetic sequence of the HBV polymerase from 105 naïve patients was analysed.

Results

rtV173L, a lamivudine compensatory mutation, was detected in two patients (1.9%), rtI233V in one patient, and another one carried the sG145R vaccine escape mutation.

Conclusion

Our study shows that studying HBV resistance in naïve patients should not be recommended in the routine laboratory setting, for the time being  相似文献

Introduction and objectives

Trypanosoma cruzi infection has been shown to induce humoral autoimmune responses against host antigens tissues. Particularly, antibodies cross-reacting with myocardial antigens may play a role in the development of the severe forms of chronic Chagas disease. The aim of this study was to determine the association between clinical stage of the disease and the presence of autoantibodies in patients with chronic Chagasic disease.

Methods

We performed a cross-sectional study in T. cruzi-seropositive patients divided into 3 groups according to the classic classification of chronic Chagas heart of Storino et al. All participants underwent complete clinical examination and their sera were used to measure autoantibody levels.

Results

All patients had detectable levels of anti-p2β and anti-B13 autoantibodies but none had anti-Na-K-ATPase antibodies. No association was observed between electrocardiographic conduction disturbances and autoantibody levels. Patients with chronic Chagas disease stage III had the highest levels of anti-B13 antibodies and a high risk of mortality score, showing a clear association between disease stage and this score.

Conclusions

Anti-B13 antibodies were significantly higher in chronic Chagas disease stage III patients, suggesting that these antibodies may be involved in disease progression and that they might be a useful marker of poor prognosis in terms of heart compromise. Our results also reveal an important correlation between the level of anti-B13 autoantibodies and symptomatic heart failure and/or dilated cardiomyopathy.Full English text available from:www.revespcardiol.org/en  相似文献

Objectives

To determine: (a) The prevalence of active infection by the hepatitis C virus (HCV) and hepatitis B virus (HBV) in HIV-infected patients, as well as previous exposure to hepatitis A virus (HAV), HBV and HCV. (b) The proportion of patients who have been vaccinated against HAV and/or HBV. (c) The HCV genotype distribution and the percentage of patients who have started treatment against HCV infection.

Methods

All HIV-infected patients who attended the Infectious Diseases Unit of a tertiary care hospital in Southern Spain between September 2008 and February 2009 were included in a prospective cross-sectional study.

Results

A total of 520 patients were included. Three hundred and fifty-eight (69%) patients had positive HCV antibody, while 71% of them showed detectable HCV-RNA. The HCV genotype distribution was: 153 (62%) genotype 1, 49 (20%) genotype 3, and 45 (18%) genotype 4. One hundred and thirteen (36.5%) subjects had received treatment against HCV. The prevalence of active HBV infection was 4.4%, while the exposure to HBV was 54.8%. Four hundred and thirty-seven (84%) patients had positive markers of infection of HAV. Of the patients eligible to be vaccinated, 25.6% and 22.3% patients were vaccinated against HAV and HBV, respectively.

Conclusions

The current prevalence of active HCV infection remains high in our area. There were no changes in the HCV genotype distribution. The number of patients with indication for HBV and HAV vaccination and receive these vaccines is low.  相似文献

Introduction

Since infection with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) was first described, there have been many advances in its diagnosis, monitoring and treatment. However, few contributions are related to the area of health care quality. In this sense, the Spanish Study Group on AIDS (GESIDA) has developed a set of quality care indicators for adult patients living with HIV infection that includes a total of 66 indicators, 22 of which are considered to be relevant. Standards were calculated for each of them in order to reflect the level of the quality of care offered to these patients. Similar documents for pediatric patients are currently lacking.

Methods

Preparation of a set of quality care indicators applicable to pediatric patients based on the GESIDA document and the Spanish Guidelines for monitoring of pediatric patients infected with HIV. Each indicator was analysed with respect to the required standards in all patients under 18 years of age followed-up in our Unit, with the aim of evaluating the quality of care provided.

Results

A total of 61 indicators were collected (51 from the GESIDA document and 10 from currently available pediatric guidelines), 30 of which were considered to be relevant. An overall compliance of 81%-83% was obtained when assessing the relevant indicators.

Conclusion

The availability of health care quality standards is essential for the care of pediatric HIV-infected patients. The assessment of these indicators in our Unit yielded satisfactory results.  相似文献
