PURPOSE

The aim of this study was to determine the absolute value of the root/crown ratio (R/C ratio) using panoramic radiographs (PRGs) in a healthy Korean population.

MATERIALS AND METHODS

In total, 99 patient radiographs (of 50 males and 49 females subjects; aged 16 to 24 years old) were examined, and 2,770 teeth were analyzed. Crown lengths and root lengths were measured with modified Lind''s measurements using PACS tools by two examiners in two separate sessions two months apart. All data were analyzed using SPSS. The independent t-test was used to assess for gender differences, and the paired t-test was used to compare both arches with a significance level of P<.05.

RESULTS

The mean R/C ratios varied from 1.29 to 1.89 (male: 1.28-1.84; females: 1.31-1.94). The highest R/C ratios were recorded for the mandibular canines (1.89), followed by the maxillary canines (1.79). The lowest R/C ratios were recorded for the maxillary second molars (1.31). In comparison with the maxillary teeth (1.29-1.78), the mandibular teeth yielded the higher R/C ratio (1.47-1.89), and this difference was significant in the females (P<.05). The difference between the genders was not statistically significant, except for the maxillary central incisors, mandibular canines and mandibular first premolars.

CONCLUSION

These data may enhance the understanding of the clinical R/C ratio as a useful guideline for determining the status of teeth and the ethnic difference.  相似文献

Objective:To determine the root-crown (R/C) ratio and dental root length of teeth in patients with open bite and seek any relationships with occlusal contact (OC) and the mandibular plane (Mp) angle.Materials and Methods:Thirty-one patients with open bite with negative overbite of at least four anterior teeth and 31 control patients with clinically normal overjet and overbite were enrolled. R/C ratios, dental root length, OC, and Mp angle were measured using panoramic radiographs, dental casts, and cephalograms, respectively. Mean differences between the groups, and variations between the R/C ratio or root length and Mp angle in patients with open bite were statistically analyzed.Results:R/C and OC ratios from the incisors to premolars were significantly lower for patients with open bite than for controls, and some teeth had short dental roots. Relationships between low R/C ratio or root length and high Mp angle were significant in patients with open bite.Conclusion:Patients with open bite, especially those with a high Mp angle, have an unfavorable R/C ratio and short dental roots in some teeth, which may be related to the loss of OC.  相似文献

Objective: To evaluate the long-term clinical and radiographic effects of maxillary incisor root resorption in cases of ectopic canines treated during the late 1970s and 1980s in Jönköping, Sweden.Subjects and Methods:The material comprised 55 incisors in 38 subjects. The posttreatment follow-up time was 13 to 28 years. All subjects underwent intraoral radiography, 33 were referred for computed tomography or cone beam computed tomography, and 24 also underwent clinical examination. The severity of incisor root resorption was correlated with clinical characteristics. Radiographs of the resorptive lesions were documented in detail and compared with intraoral radiographs taken immediately posttreatment.Results:Four incisors in three subjects had been lost, in part because of root resorption. Of the 36 incisors with root resorption, the lesions were unchanged in 26 teeth, improved in three teeth, and exacerbated in seven. In one case the resorption had progressed to pulpal exposure, necessitating endodontic treatment. For most of the incisors, the periodontal ligament was more clearly defined and the lamina dura showed improved trabeculation. The clinical characteristics of the incisors with resorption were not significantly different from those of sound incisors.Conclusions:In this long-term follow-up, most cases of incisor root resorption induced by ectopic maxillary canines did not progress and teeth with root resorption showed no clinically relevant symptoms. The prognosis for long-term survival of teeth with resorbed roots is good, but in cases where extraction is indicated, lateral incisors with severe root resorption should be extracted in favor of healthy premolars.  相似文献

Objectives:To examine the relationship between tooth length and growth hormone receptor (GHR) gene variants in a healthy Japanese population.Materials and Methods:The subjects consisted of 193 Japanese adults (69 men, 124 women), aged 13 to 56 years. Genomic DNA was extracted from saliva and genotyped GHR rs6184 and rs6180 variants using the Taqman genotyping. Computed tomography (CT) images were acquired using a dental cone-beam CT scanner and reconstructed using open-source OsiriX medical image processing software. The maxillary (upper; U) and mandibular (lower, L) central incisors (1), lateral incisors (2), canines (3), first premolars (4), second premolars (5), first molars (6), and second premolars (7) were evaluated. Teeth were assessed for crown height (CH), root length (RL), overall tooth length (C+R), and crown to root ratio (C/R). The relationships between GHR variants and CH, RL, C+R, and C/R were statistically examined.Results:The GHR variant rs6184 was associated with the root lengths and tooth length for the upper and lower lateral incisors and upper canines (U2 RL; U3 RL, C+R; L2 RL [P < .05]).Conclusions:The results indicate that the GHR rs6184 variant is associated with tooth length and ratio dimensions in a Japanese cohort. Further studies utilizing a larger sample size are needed to confirm this finding.  相似文献

Objective

There is little information regarding the mesiodistal angulation of permanent teeth in mixed dentition. The aim of this study was to evaluate mesiodistal root angulation of permanent incisors, canines and first molars of 100 Brazilian children, using a new horizontal reference plane based on the midpoint of the intercuspation of primary canines and permanent first molars in panoramic radiographs during the mixed-dentition phase.

Material and methods

Children were equally divided between the genders with a mean age of 8.9 years (SD=0.76), normal occlusion and no eruptive disturbances.

Results

The angulation of the permanent maxillary first molars was close to the vertical, whereas the mandibular molars presented approximately 25 degrees of distal root angulation. The maxillary canines were the most distally angulated teeth, whereas the permanent mandibular canines were vertically positioned. The evaluation of the anterior maxillary area showed vertical position of permanent lateral, and central incisors with a slight distal angulation, whereas the permanent mandibular incisors tended to a mesial radicular convergence.

Conclusions

The proposed reference line could be useful in mixed dentition root angulation evaluation; there was a slight asymmetry in the mesiodistal angulation among homologous teeth, and also a small variation between the male and the female groups, but no difference between 8-and 10-year-old children.  相似文献

IntroductionThe purpose of this study was to investigate the canal morphology of 504 maxillary permanent teeth of subjects of Han nationality in Chinese Guanzhong area.MethodsMaxillary permanent teeth were randomly collected in Guanzhong area. After regular preparation, the teeth were immersed into ink without preparing access cavities and then put into hyperbaric oxygen chamber (0.6 Mpa) for 2 hours to let the ink penetrate into root canal from apical foramen, apical deltas and foramen of lateral canals under stable positive pressure. After demineralization and clearing, the following observations were made: (1) number of root canals, (2) root canal configuration by using Vertucci's classification, (3) presence of lateral canals, and (4) frequency of apical deltas.ResultsAll the teeth were well-stained, and the fine details were well-revealed. Apical deltas (12.2%–83.3%) and lateral canals (13.7%–68.8%) could be frequently found in all types of maxillary teeth. Most of central incisors (95.8%), lateral incisors (91.4%), and canines (75.4%) displayed type I canal configuration, whereas most of first premolars (87.3%) and second premolars (72.3%) possessed 2 canals with type II, IV, or VI canal configuration. The majority of distobuccal roots and palatal roots of first molars (88.9%, 97.8%), second molars (92.0%, 94.0%), and third molars (87.5%, 91.6%) possessed type I canal configuration. The prevalence of mesiobuccal roots with type I configuration was 66.7% in maxillary first molars, 82% in second molars, and 62.5% in third molars.ConclusionsThe modified technique of canal staining can effectively reveal detailed root canal system. The canal configuration of maxillary teeth in subjects of Han nationality in Chinese Guanzhong area is consistent with previous reports in other races.  相似文献

Abstract

Objective. To assess the incidence and severity of root resorption of maxillary incisors caused by ectopically and normally erupting maxillary canines and to analyse factors influencing root resorption of incisors using cone beam computed tomography. Subjects and methods. The study sample comprised 59 patients with a total of 80 canines. Forty-six of the canines, in 37 patients, were defined as ectopic and 34 canines, in 22 patients, were defined as normal. The severity of root resorptions were analysed according to studies by Ericson and Kurol. Multiple logistics regression was used to evaluate the association between various factors and root resorptions. Results. The prevalence of root resorptions was significantly higher in the ectopic canine group, 11.0% of the central incisors and 67.6% of the lateral incisors in comparison to 0% and 36.2% in the normal erupting group. Most resorptions were defined as ‘slight’ and were located in the middle third of the root. There was a statistically significant relationship between canines located mesial to the midline of the lateral incisor and root resorption on the maxillary incisors. Conclusion. The present results show that root resorption of maxillary lateral incisors was common in patients referred to CBCT imaging due to maxillary canine eruption disturbances. Although significantly more frequent in patients with ectopically erupting canines, lateral incisor resorption was also found in association with approximately every third of the normally erupting canines. The best predictor for root resorption seemed to be location of the canine mesial in relation to the midline of the lateral incisor root.  相似文献

Objective:To investigate the characteristics of the dental phenotype in patients with cleidocranial dysplasia (CCD) using longitudinal data.Materials and Methods:Twelve unrelated Korean CCD patients were observed using a longitudinal series of radiographs and clinical photographs. Statistical analysis was performed on the dental phenotypic data.Results:Although dysplasia of the clavicles, open fontanelle, and wormian bone were observed in all 12 patients, delayed fusion of the mandibular symphysis was found in four patients. One patient did not have a supernumerary tooth (ST). However, 62 STs were found in 11 patients (mean, 5.6 per patient; range of ST emergence, 5 years 6 months–14 years 8 months; developing position, occlusal to the permanent incisors, canines, and premolars and distal and apical to the permanent molars). The mandibular premolar region was the most frequent area of ST development (50.0%, P < .001). All 12 patients showed impacted permanent teeth (IPT), including one patient without ST (mean, 17.8 per patient). Impaction occurred most frequently in the mandibular premolar region and least frequently in the maxillary molar region (93.8% vs 39.6%, P < .01). The ratio of spontaneous eruption of IPT after removal of retained deciduous teeth and/or ST was highest for the maxillary and mandibular incisors (all 54.6%) and lowest for the mandibular canines and premolars (26.7% and 28.9%, respectively); however, the difference was not significant.Conclusions:The emergence time and development position of ST and the root development of IPT should be considered to determine the timing for the removal of ST and forced eruption of IPT.  相似文献

IntroductionIn young individuals, deciduous tooth pulp might be used as a natural, biologic scaffold for the regenerative endodontic treatment (RET) of young permanent teeth with necrotic pulps and apical periodontitis. The present case series demonstrates the clinical and radiographic outcomes of a novel RET using deciduous pulp autotransplantation in traumatized, necrotic young permanent incisors.MethodsFive previously traumatized maxillary incisors of four 8- to 11.5-year-old patients were treated with a RET protocol that used 2.5% NaOCl irrigation and placement of calcium hydroxide dressing in the first visit. After 4 weeks, the intracanal medication was removed, and the whole pulp tissue harvested from the neighboring maxillary deciduous canine was transplanted into the disinfected root canal without induced apical bleeding. Following placement of a mineral trioxide aggregate coronal barrier, the access cavities were restored with acid-etch resin composite. The root canals of donor primary canines were filled with calcium hydroxide-iodoform paste and were restored as with the permanent incisors.ResultsThree patients were followed-up for 24 months, and 1 patient for 12 months. All teeth demonstrated radiographic evidence of complete periapical healing, slight increase in dentinal wall thickness, and continued apical closure in the absence of clinical symptoms. A positive response to cold test was obtained in 1 incisor at 12 months and 2 at 24 months.ConclusionsBased on 12- and 24-month clinical and radiographic findings, the present cases demonstrate a favorable outcome of a RET protocol using deciduous pulp autotransplantation in young permanent incisors with pulp necrosis.  相似文献

We performed computed tomography (CT) on 107 children and adolescents aged 9-15 years with 176 unerupted maxillary canines (152 erupting ectopically and 24 erupting normally) to determine whether there is an association between widened dental follicles of the maxillary canines and resorption of the adjacent incisors during eruption. Contiguous axial (transverse) CT scans were obtained through the maxilla in the region of the canines. The width and shape of the dental follicles were recorded, as were any contacts between the follicles and the crowns of the maxillary canines and neighboring incisors. Fifty-eight lateral incisors (38%) and 14 central incisors (9%) had some type of root resorption. The position of the maxillary canine in relation to the root of the lateral incisor varied greatly, as did the width and shape of the canine dental follicle. Follicle width ranged from 0.5 mm to 7.0 mm. The mean +/- SD width of dental follicles was, on average, larger for the ectopically positioned canines (2.9 +/- 0.8 mm) than for the normally erupting canines (2.5 +/- 0.8 mm) (P < or = .01). We found that during eruption, the follicle of the erupting maxillary canine frequently resorbed the periodontal contours of adjacent permanent teeth but not the hard tissues of the roots. We concluded that the dental follicle did not cause root resorption of permanent teeth. Resorption of neighboring permanent teeth during maxillary canine eruption was most probably an effect of the physical contacts between the erupting canine and the adjacent tooth, active pressure during eruption, and cellular activities in the tissues at the contact points, all of which are part of the eruptive mechanism. The findings also confirm an association between root resorption of deciduous canines and the dental follicles of erupting permanent canines.  相似文献

BackgroundThe precise mechanism of root resorption in human primary teeth is unclear. However, research has suggested that the enamel organ and dental follicle of the successive (permanent) teeth are important for this process. This review focuses on the mechanism of root resorption.HighlightImpaction of the maxillary permanent canines is occasionally seen. Computer tomography studies have shown that these canines cause root resorption in 12.5% of the neighboring central and lateral incisors. In such cases, enlargement of the radiolucent areas around the canine crowns is frequently seen. These radiolucent areas include dental follicles and reduced enamel epithelium, which are composed of degraded ameloblasts and cells of the papillary layer. Root resorbing factors, expressed from the reduced enamel epithelium, are likely to induce the odontoclastic root resorption. Physiological root resorption of the primary teeth is generally milder than this pathological root resorption, but involvement of the reduced enamel epithelium of the permanent tooth can be also proposed.ConclusionThis review highlights the role of the reduced enamel epithelium in root resorption under both pathological and physiological conditions.  相似文献

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM: Dimensions of teeth have been available for a century. Some significant and clinically relevant aspects of dental esthetics, however, such as the crown width/length ratios, have not been presented in tooth morphology sources until recently. PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to analyze the anatomic crowns of 4 tooth groups (central incisors, lateral incisors, canines, and first premolars) of the maxillary dentition with respect to width, length and width/length ratios and determine how these parameters are influenced by the incisal edge wear. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Standardized digital images of 146 extracted human maxillary anterior teeth from white subjects (44 central incisors, 41 lateral incisors, 38 canines, 23 first premolars) were used to measure the widest mesiodistal portion "W" (in millimeters) and the longest inciso-cervical/occluso-cervical distance "L" (in millimeters). The width/length ratio "R" (%) was calculated for each tooth. A 1-way analysis of variance was used to compare the mean values of W, L, and R for the different groups ("unworn" and "worn" subgroups, except for premolars). Multiple least significant difference range tests (confidence level 95%) were then applied to determine which means differed statistically from others. RESULTS: There was no influence of the incisal wear on the average value of W (width) within the same tooth group. The widest crowns were those of central incisors (9.10 to 9.24 mm) > canines (7.90 to 8.06 mm) > lateral incisors (7.07 to 7.38 mm). Premolars (7.84 mm) had similar width as canines and worn lateral incisors. The L-value was logically influenced by incisal wear (worn teeth were shorter than unworn teeth) except for lateral incisors. The longest crowns were those of unworn central incisors (11.69 mm) > unworn canines (10.83 mm) and worn central incisors (10.67 mm) > worn canines (9.90), worn and unworn lateral incisors (9.34 to 9.55 mm), and premolars (9.33 mm). Width/length ratios also showed significant differences. The highest values were found for worn central incisors (87%) and premolars (84%). The latter were also similar to worn canines (81%), which constituted a homogeneous group with worn lateral incisors (79%) and unworn central incisors (78%). The lowest ratios were found for unworn canines and unworn lateral incisors (both showing 73%). CONCLUSIONS: Along with other specific and objective parameters related to dental esthetics, average values for W (mesiodistal crown dimension), L (inciso-cervical crown dimension), and R (width/length ratio) given in this study for white subjects may serve as guidelines for treatment planning in restorative dentistry and periodontal surgery.  相似文献

Objective:To evaluate the presence of dehiscence and fenestration defects around anterior teeth in the cleft region and to compare these findings with the noncleft side in the same patients using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT).Materials and Methods:CBCT scans of 44 patients (26 males, 18 females; mean age, 14.04 ± 3.81 years) with unilateral cleft lip and palate (UCLP) were assessed to define dehiscences and fenestrations of the anterior teeth in both cleft and noncleft sides of the UCLP patients and a control group of noncleft patients (51 patients; 21 males, 30 females; mean age, 14.52 ± 1.16 years). Data were analyzed using Pearson’s χ2 and Student’s t-test.Results:The prevalence of dehiscences at the maxillary central incisors, lateral incisors, and canines teeth were 43.2%, 70.6%, and 34.1% on the cleft side and 22.7%, 53.1%, and 27.3% on the noncleft side of UCLP patients, and 13.7%, 7.8%, and 13.7% in controls, respectively (statistically no difference between the sides of cleft patients). The cleft patients had a statistically significantly higher prevalence of dehiscences than did the controls on both the cleft and noncleft sides (P < .05), except for the maxillary central incisors. Fenestrations for these teeth were significantly more common on the cleft side in UCLP patients compared with controls (P < .05), whereas the difference for maxillary lateral incisors was not statistically significant.Conclusions:Patients with UCLP showed a higher prevalence of dehiscence and fenestration defects around the maxillary anterior teeth.  相似文献

ObjectivesThe research aims to assess the regenerative potential of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) versus Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) scaffolds in immature permanent maxillary central incisors with necrotic pulps, clinically and radiographically.Trial designDouble blinded parallel randomized controlled trial was implemented to identify the results.Subject & methodsThe proposed study was conducted among 30 patients with maxillary necrotic permanent immature central incisors but only 26 patients fulfilled the study requirements. Group I was treated with PRP and Group II with PRF scaffolds. Follow up has been done every 3 months for one year. Primary outcomes were measured clinically: Pain, Mobility, Swelling, and Sinus/fistula. Radiographically: increase root length and width. Secondary outcomes were clinically: Discoloration and Sensibility test. Radiographically: increase in bone density measurements and decrease in apical diameter. Standardized radiographs were collected during the follow up period, and radiographic changes were measured by using Image J software. Statistical analysis was performed on 25 patients who had completed the study.ResultsAll 25 patients' teeth were survived during the 12-month follow-up period. PRP showed marginal increase in radiographic root length and width, periapical bone density and a decrease in apical diameter. No statistical significant differences were observed when it was compared with PRF. The teeth which were treated did not respond to sensibility test at the end of the study. PRF displayed statistical significant higher amount of crown discoloration when compared to PRP group.ConclusionsFor necrotic immature teeth, revascularization using PRP is an appropriate alternative to PRF and showed excellent 12-months prognosis.  相似文献

AbstractAim: The aim of this retrospective trial was to investigate differences in mesiodistal and vestibulo-oral crown sizes of naturally, fully-erupted permanent maxillary teeth between patients with and without palatal canine displacement.Patients and Method: 115 patients (mean age: 14 years 10 months; females: 77 males: 38) treated in the Department of Orthodontics, University of Munich were included in the study. 65 of the patients showed at least one palatally-displaced canine. Diagnosis and the location of the displacement were determined on the basis of standardized radiographs and confirmed by surgical documentation. Each maxillary tooth’s mesiodistal and vestibulo-oral width was measured using a dial caliper on each dental cast. Excluded were partially-erupted teeth and surfaces with caries or restorations that had to be measured. An analysis of available space was made by evaluating the pre-treatment dental casts of all patients included in the study.Results: Comparing the tooth widths of patients with unilateral canine displacement with the corresponding contralateral quadrants, we noted a statistically significant difference, namely that the central and lateral incisors and the canines of the affected side were narrower than those of the non-affected side in the same patient. Moreover, the displaced upper canines showed an increase in vestibulo-oral dimension. Overall tooth width (including all tooth groups) in patients with palatally-displaced canines was significantly less than that in the control group. However, when comparing the crown diameters of unilaterally- and bilaterally-affected patients, no differences in tooth-size were observed. The space-analysis showed excessive dental-arch space in patients with a palatally-displaced canine.Conclusion: Patients affected by palatal canine displacement showed significantly smaller maxillary tooth size.  相似文献

目的: 通过锥形束CT(cone-beam CT, CBCT)测量分析,了解福建居民上前牙解剖学特征,为进行上颌前牙区修复提供参考。方法: 利用CBCT测量191例就诊于福建医科大学附属口腔医院门诊患者的1 146颗上前牙(中切牙、侧切牙、尖牙)各牙位的长度及宽度,根据性别进行分组,量化分析牙体解剖特征的参数比例(宽长比及宽度比)。采用SPSS 19.0软件包对数据进行统计学分析。结果: 男性中切牙、尖牙的宽度和长度大于女性,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05),男性、女性侧切牙的宽度和长度无显著差异(P>0.05);男性、女性上颌前牙的宽长比值无显著差异(P>0.05),宽度比值差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论: 临床上应充分考虑患者地区、种族及性别差异,以更好地进行上颌前牙修复。  相似文献

Objectives:To measure the root lengths of maxillary central incisors (U1) and evaluate the relationship among U1 root length, tooth movement, and type of treatment appliance in patients with unilateral cleft lip and palate over a long-term follow-up period.Materials and Methods:Occlusal radiographs of 30 patients with unilateral cleft lip and palate, acquired less than 6 months before secondary alveolar bone grafting (SBG, T1) and after edgewise treatment (T2), were measured for U1 root length (R1 and R2, root lengths at T1 and T2, respectively). Frontal and lateral cephalometric radiographs acquired at eruption of U1 (T0), T1, and T2 were evaluated to determine the inclination and position of U1.Results:The average values of R1 and R2 on the cleft side were significantly lower than those on the noncleft side. Frontal cephalometric analysis revealed that the horizontal distance of the root apex from the median vertical line at T0 on the cleft side was significantly smaller than that on the noncleft side and was correlated with short U1 root length on the cleft side. On the other hand, R1 in patients treated with maxillary protraction appliances between T0 and T1 was significantly shorter than that in patients without maxillary protraction appliances. However, none of the changes in cephalometric measurements were correlated with root length.Conclusions:In patients with unilateral cleft lip and palate, the short root length of cleft-adjacent central incisors might be associated with the horizontal position of the root apex. In addition, orthodontic treatment with a maxillary protraction appliance before secondary alveolar bone grafting might be associated with short U1 root length.  相似文献

OBJECTIVES: This in vitro study evaluated increases in root surface temperature during the continuous wave of condensation technique using a System B HeatSource. STUDY DESIGN: Forty-five extracted human teeth (15 maxillary central incisors, 15 mandibular central incisors, and 15 maxillary canines) were used. After root canal cleaning and shaping, the teeth were filled with the continuous wave of condensation technique using a System B HeatSource. Temperature changes on the whole mesial and vestibular outer surfaces of the roots were measured using an infrared thermal imaging camera. RESULTS: The results of this in vitro study showed that the use of the continuous wave of condensation technique to fill the maxillary central incisors and maxillary canines produced temperature rises below the critical level. In the mandibular central incisors the use of a System B HeatSource resulted in elevation of the root surface temperature by more than 10 degrees C. CONCLUSION: The continuous wave of condensation technique using the System B HeatSource produces temperature changes on the outer root surfaces, which, in the case of teeth with relatively thin dentinal walls, can reach relatively high values.  相似文献

目的:通过对曲面断层片中上颌阻生尖牙近远中向和垂直向的影像学分区,判定其与锥形束CT (cone-beam computed tomography, CBCT)中相应尖牙唇腭侧位及相邻恒切牙根吸收之间的关系。方法:对68例患者的94颗上颌阻生尖牙进行曲面断层片的拍摄和CBCT扫描。将曲面断层片中上颌阻生尖牙近远中向牙尖所处的位置分为5区(Ⅰ区-Ⅴ区),将牙冠所处的垂直向高度分为3部分(牙冠段,根中段,根尖段),其唇腭侧位置和相邻恒切牙的根吸收情况则由CBCT判定。结果:曲面断层片中上颌阻生尖牙近远中向的区域定位与CBCT中相应阻生牙的唇腭侧位之间有显著相关(P<0.001),唇侧阻生的尖牙常出现在曲面断层片中的Ⅰ、Ⅱ、Ⅲ区域,正中牙槽阻生的多在Ⅳ区域,腭侧阻生的常在Ⅴ区域,而垂直向的分段与之无显著相关。CBCT中相邻恒切牙的根吸收常发生在Ⅳ、Ⅴ区域和根中段、根尖段。曲面断层片中阻生尖牙近远中向和垂直向的区域划分均与CBCT中相邻恒切牙的根吸收之间有统计学意义(P<0.05)结论:利用曲面断层片中上颌阻生尖牙近远中向的区域定位可以预测其唇腭侧位和相邻恒切牙的根吸收,垂直向的分段可用来判断相邻恒切牙的根吸收,而不可推测其唇腭侧阻生情况。  相似文献

Objective:To analyze the prevalence, distribution, clinical features, and relationship with dental anomalies of maxillary canine impaction.Materials and Methods:The complete pretreatment records of 1674 orthodontic patients were examined. Subjects with maxillary impacted canines were divided into two study groups: a palatally displaced canine (PDC) group (114 patients) and a buccally displaced canine (BDC) group (37 patients). These were compared to a control group of 151 patients who were randomly selected from the initial sample without maxillary canine impaction. The significance of associations between canine impaction and dental and clinical features and anomalies was examined with the chi-square test.Results:PDC patients presented with normal overjet and facial profile and a lower degree of dental arch crowding in comparison to the control patients. PDC patients showed a higher prevalence of impaction of other teeth, dental aplasia, transposition, and peg-shaped maxillary lateral incisors (odds ratios 3.3, 2.6, 8.3, and 5.8, respectively).Conclusion:PDC was frequently the only orthodontic problem of patients. BDC group patients did not present with notable differences in clinical and dental features or dental anomalies compared to control subjects.  相似文献
