BackgroundInstruments developed to measure simulation learning outcomes need evidence of their reliability and validity for rigorous research. The purpose of this paper is to report psychometric properties of the English version of the Simulation Learning Effectiveness Inventory.MethodsPsychometric properties of the English version of the Simulation Learning Effectiveness Inventory, which included internal consistency reliability and construct validity with factor analysis, were examined in a sample of 132 undergraduate nursing students.ResultsCronbach's alpha coefficients were >0.70 for all subscales. There was evidence of convergent, discriminant, and known-group validity. The factor analysis resulted in some items being associated with different subscales than in the original Chinese version.ConclusionsThe English version of the Simulation Learning Effectiveness Inventory has evidence of reliability and validity. Additional psychometric studies may result in changes in some of the subscales.  相似文献

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to adapt culturally a Turkish version of the Lower Limb Functional Index (LLFI) and to determine its validity, reliability, internal consistency, measurement sensitivity and factor structure in lower limb problems. Method: The LLFI was translated into Turkish and cross-culturally adapted with a double forward–backward protocol that determined face and content validity. Individuals (n?=?120) with lower limb musculoskeletal disorders completed the LLFI and Short Form-36 questionnaires and the Timed Up and Go physical test. The psychometric properties were evaluated for the all participants from patient-reported outcome measures made at baseline and repeated at day 3 to determine criterion between scores (Pearson’s r), internal consistency (Cronbachs α) and test–retest reliability (intraclass correlation coefficient – ICC2.1). Error was determined using standard error of the measurement (SEM) and minimal detectable change at the 90% level (MDC90), while factor structure was determined using exploratory factor analysis with maximum likelihood extraction and Varimax rotation. Results: The psychometric characteristics showed strong criterion validity (r?=?0.74–0.76), high internal consistency (α?=?0.82) and high test–retest reability (ICC2.1?=?0.97). The SEM of 3.2% gave an MDC90?=?5.8%. The factor structure was uni-dimensional. Conclusions: Turkish version of LLFI was found to be valid and reliable for the measurement of lower limb function in a Turkish population.

Objective

To systematically review the psychometric evidence on the 2-minute walk test (2MWT).

Data Sources

Electronic searches of databases including MEDLINE, CINAHL, Academic Search Premier, SPORTDiscus, PsycINFO, EMBASE, the Cochrane Library, and DARE were done until February 2014 using a combination of subject headings and free texts.

Study Selection

Studies were included if psychometric properties of the 2MWT were (1) evaluated; (2) written as full reports; and (3) published in English language peer-reviewed journals.

Data Extraction

A modified consensus-based standard for the selection of health measurement instruments checklist was used to rate the methodological quality of the included studies. A quality assessment for statistical outcomes was used to assess the measurement properties of the 2MWT.

Data Synthesis

Best-evidence synthesis was collated from 25 studies of 14 patient groups. Only 1 study was found that examined the 2MWT in the pediatric population. The testing procedures of the 2MWT varied across the included studies. Reliability, validity (construct and criterion), and responsiveness of the 2MWT also varied across different patient groups. Moderate to strong evidence was found for reliability, convergent validity, discriminative validity, and responsiveness of the 2MWT in frail elderly patients. Moderate to strong evidence for reliability, convergent validity, and responsiveness was found in adults with lower limb amputations. Moderate to strong evidence for validity (convergent and discriminative) was found in adults who received rehabilitation after hip fractures or cardiac surgery. Limited evidence for the psychometric properties of the 2MWT was found in other population groups because of methodological flaws.

Conclusions

There is inadequate breadth and depth of psychometric evidence of the 2MWT for clinical and research purposes—specifically, minimal clinically important changes and responsiveness. More good-quality studies are needed, especially in the pediatric population. Consensus on standardized testing procedures of the 2MWT is also required.  相似文献

Objectives

(1) To develop a performance-based measure for adult upper limb (UL) prosthetic functioning through broad (ie, overall performance) and functional domain-specific (eg, control skills) assessment of commonplace activities; (2) to conduct initial psychometric evaluation of the Capacity Assessment of Prosthetic Performance for the Upper Limb (CAPPFUL).

Design

Internal consistency of CAPPFUL and interrater reliability for task, functional domain, and full-scale (sub)scores among 3 independent raters were estimated. Known-group validity was examined comparing scores by amputation level. Convergent validity was assessed between CAPPFUL and 2 hand dexterity or function tests; discriminant validity was assessed against self-reported disability.

Setting

Six prosthetic rehabilitation centers across the United States.

Participants

Subjects (N=60) with UL amputation using a prosthesis.

Main Outcome Measures

Not applicable.

Results

Interrater reliability was excellent for scoring on the task, domain, and full-scale scores (intraclass correlation coefficients=.88-.99). Internal consistency was good (α=.79-.82). Generally, subjects with higher UL amputation levels scored lower (worse) than subjects with lower UL amputation levels. CAPPFUL demonstrated strong correlations with measures of hand dexterity or functioning (rs=?.58 to .72) and moderate correlation with self-reported disability (r=?.35).

Conclusions

CAPPFUL was designed as a versatile, low-burden measure of prosthesis performance for any UL functional prosthetic device type and any UL amputation level. CAPPFUL assesses overall performance and 5 functional performance domains during completion of 11 tasks that require movement in all planes while manipulating everyday objects requiring multiple grasp patterns. Psychometric evaluation indicates good interrater reliability, internal consistency, known-group validity, and convergent and discriminant validity.  相似文献

Furthermore, limitations in walking will be positively related to activity limitations according to the (7) Locomotor Capabilities Index, (8) “distance walked” question on the Prosthetic Profile of the Amputee Questionnaire, (9) Questionnaire Rising and Sitting Down, (10) Climbing Stairs Questionnaire, and (11) Special Interest Group on Amputation Medicine/Dutch Working Group on Amputations and Prosthetics mobility scale. Construct validity was quantified by using the Mann-Whitney U test and Spearman correlation coefficient. Test-retest reliability was assessed with a 3-week interval and quantified using the intraclass correlation coefficient.ResultsConstruct validity (10 of 11 hypotheses not rejected) and test-retest reliability were good (intraclass correlation coefficient =.73; 95% confidence interval, .43–.88).ConclusionsThe Walking Questionnaire has good construct validity and test-retest reliability in people with a lower limb amputation.  相似文献

PurposeTo describe the quality of life(QOL) of Syrian people with lower limb amputation after the war.MethodsA cross-sectional study conducted at the Military Hospital in Lattakia, from May to August 2019. A convenience sample of 65 adult males who had previously undergone amputation of a lower limb was included in this study. Participants’ data were collected including age, marital status, employment, time since amputation, level of amputation, type of amputation and the use of assistive devices. The QOL was measured using the World Health Organization Quality of Life Brief Version (WHO QOL-BREF). Data analysis was done by using SPSS version 20.ResultsForty (61.5%) of subjects were between age of 40–60. Below knee and unilateral lower-limb amputees formed the highest number 52 (80.0%) and 51 (78.5%) respectively. The mean scores of environment, physical health, psychological, and social relationships domains of QOL were 15.86, 15.18, 14.66, and 6.64, respectively. There were statistically significant differences in various domains of QOL between groups with different status of employment, financial support, amputated lower limb, duration since amputation, and cause of amputation (P < 0.05).ConclusionThere is a need to pay attention to experiences and the quality of life among Syrian patients with war-related amputation.  相似文献

BackgroundThe clinical learning environment is fundamental to nursing education paths, capable of affecting learning processes and outcomes. Several instruments have been developed in nursing education, aimed at evaluating the quality of the clinical learning environments; however, no systematic review of the psychometric properties and methodological quality of these studies has been performed to date.ObjectivesThe aims of the study were: 1) to identify validated instruments evaluating the clinical learning environments in nursing education; 2) to evaluate critically the methodological quality of the psychometric property estimation used; and 3) to compare psychometric properties across the instruments available.DesignA systematic review of the literature (using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis guidelines) and an evaluation of the methodological quality of psychometric properties (using the COnsensus-based Standards for the selection of health Measurement INstruments guidelines).Data sourcesThe Medline and CINAHL databases were searched. Eligible studies were those that satisfied the following criteria: a) validation studies of instruments evaluating the quality of clinical learning environments; b) in nursing education; c) published in English or Italian; d) before April 2016.Review methodsThe included studies were evaluated for the methodological quality of the psychometric properties measured and then compared in terms of both the psychometric properties and the methodological quality of the processes used.ResultsThe search strategy yielded a total of 26 studies and eight clinical learning environment evaluation instruments. A variety of psychometric properties have been estimated for each instrument, with differing qualities in the methodology used. Concept and construct validity were poorly assessed in terms of their significance and rarely judged by the target population (nursing students). Some properties were rarely considered (e.g., reliability, measurement error, criterion validity), whereas others were frequently estimated, but using different coefficients and statistical analyses (e.g., internal consistency, structural validity), thus rendering comparison across instruments difficult. Moreover, the methodological quality adopted in the property assessments was poor or fair in most studies, compromising the goodness of the psychometric values estimated.ConclusionsClinical learning placements represent the key strategies in educating the future nursing workforce: instruments evaluating the quality of the settings, as well as their capacity to promote significant learning, are strongly recommended. Studies estimating psychometric properties, using an increased quality of research methodologies are needed in order to support nursing educators in the process of clinical placements accreditation and quality improvement.  相似文献

ContextSeveral instruments have been developed to assess the symptom burden and fatigue produced by cancer and its treatment. However, little research has been conducted in Latin American Spanish–speaking patients.ObjectivesThe aim of the study was to assess the psychometric properties of the Spanish versions of two commonly used patient-reported outcome measures, the Memorial Symptom Assessment Scale-Short Form (MSAS-SF), and the fatigue subscale of the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-General (FACT-G), the FACIT-Fatigue.MethodsA classic psychometric approach was followed to assess the reliability and validity of the instruments. Responsiveness to change and effect sizes were calculated.ResultsThe translated version of the MSAS-SF proved to be comprehensible and easy to complete. Cronbach alpha reliability coefficients ranged from acceptable to excellent for the MSAS-SF subscale scores and the FACIT-Fatigue. There was evidence of convergent validity between the physical and the psychological subscales of the instruments. The MSAS-SF could discriminate among the known groups according to Eastern Cooperative Oncology performance status and level of anemia, and showed responsiveness to change of symptom burden at two times of treatment.ConclusionThe study showed that both the MSAS-SF and the FACIT-Fatigue have good reliability and validity for use with patients with cancer in Uruguay. When used simultaneously, these instruments may provide a complete picture of the impact of cancer and its treatment on the patient's quality of life.  相似文献

Purpose: Amputation results in reduced mobility and contributes to reduced quality of life. The increased metabolic cost of ambulation has been suggested as an important contributor to reduced mobility in this population. Current research on the metabolic energy expenditure of ambulation will be critically reviewed from the perspectives of ecological validity of the research methods and the relative contribution to functional improvement in amputees. Recommendations will be made regarding possible future directions for research and their potential clinical utility. Methods: Narrative review. Results: The methods used to quantify metabolic energy expenditure of amputee ambulation do not emulate typical mobility conditions that amputees experience. Amputee mobility is characterized by short bouts of activity with starting, stopping and changes of direction. This is opposed to the typical metabolic testing protocol that requires at least 5?min of steady state linear walking on a treadmill. These studies, therefore, have limitations in ecological validity and therefore limitations in the extent to which they accurately reflect the effect of amputation level, amputation etiology and prosthetic components on energy consumption during walking. Further, the broader perspective on outcomes after dysvascular amputation and sports participation limitations, raises questions about the relative importance of improving metabolic costs and its potential effect on improving mobility in amputees. Conclusion: The greatest potential clinical impact of future research requires methods with improved ecological validity, and the ability to translate metabolic energy expenditure outcomes into functional terms that are meaningful to both clinicians and patients.
  • Implications for Rehabilitation
  • The search for objective measurements to define the effects of amputation on outcome and the consequences of prosthetic components on mobility has focused in part on the use of study designs incorporating metabolic measurement.

  • However, there are important limitations to the ecological validity of these measures and their relative importance as an outcome measure in dysvascular amputees as well as in sports/leisure participation.

  • Novel research approaches are required to quantify the functional impact of increased metabolic energy expenditure and to better understand the psychophysical limitations that result.

Objective: To develop a new outcome measure in response to the increasing demands for cost effectiveness analyses and empirically derived outcome instruments in the treatment of pediatric limb deficiency. This article describes the development, refinement, and initial psychometric properties of the Child Amputee Prosthetics Project-Functional Status Inventory (CAPP-FSI).Design: Parents of children with limb deficiency were surveyed during routine clinic visits.Setting: Two outpatient pediatric clinics.Participants: Seventy-five parents and their children with limb deficiency (ages 8 to 17 years) participated in the study as part of annual physical evaluations or routine follow-up care.Main Outcome Measure: The newly developed CAPP-FSI.Results: Internal consistency reliability (Cronbach's alpha) = .96 for the CAPP-FSI. Content validity is described and initial construct validity is empirically confirmed.Conclusion: The CAPP-FSI is a promising assessment instrument for measuring important health outcomes in children with upper or lower limb deficiency.  相似文献

BackgroundThe PLUS-M 12-item Short-Form is a self-questionnaire that assesses the perceived capacity of lower limb amputees (LLAs) to perform a number of daily-life activities. Its psychometric properties are excellent (intraclass correlation coefficient [ICC] > 0.9, fast administration and scoring, normative data available), and it can be used in clinical practice or for research purposes.ObjectiveWe aimed to develop a French version of this questionnaire and to assess its psychometric properties.MethodsWe followed international recommendations for translation and cross-cultural validation of questionnaires. In total, 52 LLAs (age 53 ± 16, 40 males, 28/12/12 transtibial/Gritti-Stokes/transfemoral, 20/28/4 ischemic/traumatic/other) participated. Criterion and construct validities were assessed with the Pearson correlation coefficient (PCC) between the PLUS-M 12-item Short-Form and other constructs (Prosthetic-Profile-of-the-Amputee-Locomotor Capabilities Index, Activities-specific Balance Confidence scale, 2-min walking test and Timed Up and Go test), internal consistency with the Cronbach α and reliability with the ICC in 46 individuals who completed the questionnaire twice in a 7-day interval.ResultsThe mean (SD) PLUS-M 12-item Short-Form T-score was 56.1 (7.8; range 40.3 to 71.4). Construct and criterion validity, internal consistency and reliability ranged from low to excellent (r = 0.43 to 0.84, P < 10−2 to 0.002; Cronbach α = 0.90, ICC = 0.89 [0.81–0.94]). We found no floor or ceiling effect.ConclusionsThe French version of the PLUS-M 12-item Short-Form has good to excellent psychometric properties, comparable to those of the original version. Its use could definitely be proposed for both clinical and research purposes, once its validation is completed by assessing other psychometric qualities, especially sensitivity to change.  相似文献

BackgroundA wide array of instruments are available for non-invasive thoracic kyphosis measurement. Guidelines for selecting outcome measures for use in clinical and research practice recommend that properties such as validity and reliability are considered. This systematic review reports on the reliability and validity of non-invasive methods for measuring thoracic kyphosis.MethodsA systematic search of 11 electronic databases located studies assessing reliability and/or validity of non-invasive thoracic kyphosis measurement techniques. Two independent reviewers used a critical appraisal tool to assess the quality of retrieved studies. Data was extracted by the primary reviewer. The results were synthesized qualitatively using a level of evidence approach.Results27 studies satisfied the eligibility criteria and were included in the review. The reliability, validity and both reliability and validity were investigated by sixteen, two and nine studies respectively. 17/27 studies were deemed to be of high quality. In total, 15 methods of thoracic kyphosis were evaluated in retrieved studies. All investigated methods showed high (ICC ≥ .7) to very high (ICC ≥ .9) levels of reliability. The validity of the methods ranged from low to very high.ConclusionThe strongest levels of evidence for reliability exists in support of the Debrunner kyphometer, Spinal Mouse and Flexicurve index, and for validity supports the arcometer and Flexicurve index. Further reliability and validity studies are required to strengthen the level of evidence for the remaining methods of measurement. This should be addressed by future research.  相似文献

Purpose. To identify and evaluate the lower limb amputation rehabilitation outcome measurement instruments that quantify those outcomes classified within the International classification of functioning, disability and health (ICF) category of body function or structure. This was done to summarise the current evidence base for the most commonly used outcome measurement tools and to provide clinicians with recommendations on how specific tools might be selected for use.

Method. A systematic review of the literature associated with outcome measurement in lower limb amputation rehabilitation was conducted. Only articles containing data related to metric properties (reliability, validity or responsiveness) for an instrument were included. Articles were identified by electronic and hand-searching techniques and were subsequently classified according to the ICF.

Results. Sixteen instruments were identified that were classified into one of Global mental function (12), Sensory and pain (1), Cardiovascular and respiratory (1) and Neuromusculoskeletal and movement (2). Evidence about metric properties and clinical utility was summarised in tables, which formed the basis for conclusions.

Conclusions. Few well-validated body function tools exist in the amputee literature, which may explain their lack of widespread use. For all scales, responsiveness to intervention has not been well established and should be the focus of future studies along with continued establishment of validity and reliability.  相似文献

Objective: This study assessed activities of daily living (ADL) and ambulation of rehabilitated bilateral lower limb amputees with relation to their level of amputation in an Indian setting. Subjects and Methods: This retrospective study of 25 subjects comprised 12 bilateral Trans-femoral (TF) amputees, 8 bilateral Trans-tibial (TT) amputees and 5 a combination of ipsilateral Trans-femoral and contralateral Trans-tibial amputation. All subjects were contacted by post/telephone, were physically examined and assessed at the Orthopaedic clinic at a mean follow-up of 6.6 years. Physical rehabilitation was evaluated using ADL score and by grading the level of ambulation. Results: ADL scores showed no significant difference according to level of amputation (p > 0.05), but the scores of prosthetic users were significantly higher than non-prosthetic users (p?=?0.002). Only 11/25 amputees became prosthetic ambulators and most (50%, 6/12) were TF amputees. All prosthetically rehabilitated subjects were mobilising with their prostheses at follow-up and graded as unlimited or limited community ambulators. Conclusion: Though it is well documented that the potential for successful rehabilitation is best for bilateral TT amputees, given the subjects’ economic constraints, higher prosthesis rehabilitation among bilateral TF amputees indicates that successful rehabilitation is possible in most subjects irrespective of the level of amputation.

Implications for Rehabilitation

  • Rehabilitation of a bilateral lower limb amputee requires a team effort and constitutes a very difficult challenge for the subject.

  • Low prosthesis ownership is largely due to subjects’ inability to afford a pair of prostheses in a developing country like India.

  • Activities of daily living improve significantly with use of prostheses.

  • Though it is well documented that the potential for successful rehabilitation is best for a bilateral TT amputee, higher prosthesis rehabilitation among bilateral TF subjects in this study indicates that successful rehabilitation is possible in most subjects irrespective of the level of amputation.

A systematic search in the literature included studies of development, validation, and transcultural adaptation of neonatal pain scales to Brazilian Portuguese. The instruments must have been developed for health care professionals to evaluate neonatal pain and stress in full-term and preterm newborns.Data SourcesThe search strategy was conducted in PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, and Scielo databases following The PRISMA guidelines (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses).Review /Analysis MethodsA total of 1,479 publications were identified and 5 fulfilled the inclusion criteria, with 4 instruments evaluated. For the methodological quality analysis of the measurement properties of the instruments the Consensus-based Standards for Health Measurement Instruments (COSMIN) Risk of Bias checklist was used. The psychometric properties verified were internal consistency, content validity, reliability, and construct validity.ResultsThree instruments reviewed were inadequate and one was doubtful.ConclusionsThe neonatal pain scales wich were cross culturally adapted to Brazilian Portuguese were shown to be of low methodological quality based on COSMIM checklist. Caution should be considered for clinical decisions about pain management judgment coming from these instruments.  相似文献

ObjectiveTo synthesize evidence regarding the psychometric properties of the Brief-Balance Evaluation Systems Test (BESTest) in assessing postural controls across various populations.Data SourcesArticles were searched in 9 databases from inception to March 2020.Study SelectionTwo reviewers independently screened titles, abstracts, and full-text articles to include studies that reported at least 1 psychometric property of the Brief-BESTest. There were no language restrictions.Data ExtractionThe 2 independent reviewers extracted data (including psychometric properties of Brief-BESTest) from the included studies. The methodological quality of the included studies was appraised by the Consensus-based Standards for the Selection of Health Status Measurement Instruments checklist, and the quality of statistical outcomes was assessed by the Terwee et al method. A best-evidence synthesis for each measurement property of the Brief-BESTest in each population was conducted.Data SynthesisTwenty-four studies encompassing 13 populations were included. There was moderate to strong positive evidence to support the internal consistency (Cronbach α>0.82), criterion validity (ρ≥0.73, r≥0.71), and construct validity (ρ≥0.66, r≥0.50, area under curve>0.72) of the Brief-BESTest in different populations. Moderate to strong positive evidence supported the responsiveness of the Brief-BESTest in detecting changes in postural controls of patients 4 weeks after total knee arthroplasty or patients with subacute stroke after 4-week rehabilitation. However, there was strong negative evidence for the structural validity of this scale in patients with various neurologic conditions. The evidence for the reliability of individual items and measurement errors remains unknown.ConclusionsThe Brief-BESTest is a valid (criterion- and construct-related) tool to assess postural control in multiple populations. However, further studies on the reliability of individual items and minimal clinically important difference of the Brief-BESTest are warranted before recommending it as an alternative to the BESTest and Mini-BESTest in clinical research/practice.  相似文献

ObjectiveAdvance care planning has been practiced in Western countries for several years, but non-Western cultures face challenges in implementation. This study was dedicated to translating the instrument measure into Chinese, examining its psychometric qualities and exploring the relationships among knowledge, attitudes, and practicing behaviors in advance care planning among oncology nurses in China.Data SourcesThe research adopted a cross-sectional design from September 3 to October 5, 2021. After translation and cultural adaptation, oncology nurses (N = 249) were involved. The research used psychometric evaluation to verify that the content validity, structural validity, internal consistency, and test-retest reliability enhanced the analytical rigorous instrument.ConclusionThe translated and adapted instruments showed reasonable psychometric properties. The Chinese version of the KAB-ACP for oncology nurses is a consistent, valid, and reliable instrument for assessing knowledge, attitude, and practice behavior of Chinese-speaking nurses who work in advance care planning by researchers or clinicians.Implications for Nursing PracticeMeasures of oncology nurses’ knowledge, attitudes, and practice behaviors will allow for more targeted interventions that will improve end-of-life care outcomes.  相似文献

ObjectiveTo evaluate the psychometric properties of the Spinal Cord Injury–Functional Index (SCI-FI) instruments in a community-dwelling sample.DesignCross-sectional study.SettingCommunity setting.ParticipantsIndividuals (N=269) recruited from 6 SCI Model Systems sites.InterventionsNot applicable.Main Outcome MeasuresParticipants completed computer adaptive test and short form versions of 4 SCI-FI/Capacity (C) banks (ie, Ambulation, Basic Mobility, Fine Motor, Self-Care) and 1 SCI-FI/Assistive Technology (AT) bank (Wheelchair Mobility) at baseline and after 2 weeks. The Self-Report Functional Measure (SRFM) and the clinician-rated motor FIM were used to evaluate evidence of convergent validity.ResultsPearson correlations, intraclass correlation coefficients, minimal detectable change, and Bland-Altman plots supported the test-retest reliability of the SCI-FI instruments. Correlations were large with the SRFM (.69-.89) and moderate-to-large for the FIM instrument (.44-.64), supporting convergent validity. Known-groups validity was demonstrated by a significant main effect of injury level on all instruments and a main effect of injury completeness on the SCI-FI/C instruments. A ceiling effect was detected for individuals with incomplete paraplegia on the Fine Motor/C and Self-Care/C Short Forms.ConclusionFindings support the test-retest reliability, convergent validity, and known-groups validity of the SCI-FI/C instruments and the SCI-FI/AT Wheelchair Mobility instruments for use by community-dwelling individuals.  相似文献

ObjectivesThe clinical learning environment offers meaningful learning opportunities for nursing students to apply theoretical knowledge to practice on actual or simulated patients. A previous systematic review assessed the quality of several instruments that evaluated the quality of clinical learning environments. This updated systematic review aimed to identify: any additional instruments that have been researched in the last 5 years, ii) the psychometric properties of available instruments and iii) the estimated comparable psychometric properties of the available instruments.Data sourcesMedline, CINAHL and Cochrane databasesReview methodsDatabases were searched from January 2016 to January 2023. Studies were included if they: a) validated instruments evaluating the experience and quality of clinical learning environments; b) assessed the pre-licensure nursing student experience; c) were published in English; and d) were published after April 2016. Two independent reviewers conducted title and abstract screening, full text screening, data extraction and methodological quality assessment. Any disagreements were resolved by consensus. A summary of the findings was tabulated using the same format as the initial review.ResultsAn additional 18 studies were found, which used seven different clinical learning environment evaluation instruments. Internal consistency and structural validity were the most frequently reported psychometric properties. In almost all studies, methodology for these properties were of sufficient quality according to the COnsensus-based Standards for the selection of health status Measurement INstruments (COSMIN) tool evaluation. Other properties were inconsistently reported, with differing qualities in the methodology. Clinical Learning Environment, Supervision and Nurse Teacher (CLES + T) remains the most translated and validated instrument across several countries.ConclusionsInstruments developed and validated using a systematic, transparent and high-quality methodology assist in accurately assessing the skills, attitudes and decision-making abilities of the preregistration level nursing student. These tools can be used in clinical placement accreditation and quality improvement of nursing education. The methodology for evaluation of the psychometric properties of instruments should be clearly described.  相似文献
