This paper describes a continuing education program designed to meet the needs and interests of supervisors working in community mental health centers. As initial group of supervisors was recruited as consultants to design all aspects of their educational experience. The group used a modified nominal group technique to develop the curriculum. Subsequently 28 trainees in three separate groups participated in the training program; they represented 20 agencies and included directors, training coordinators, supervisory staff, and direct service workers. Methods employed were satisfaction measures, content retention measures, and interviews to evaluate program impact. Participants reported that they increased their knowledge and were satisfied with training, but that the program was only modestly effective in contributing to changes in their job and agency functioning. Training was most effective with agency directors, employees of private agencies, and workers with fewer years at a given work site.  相似文献

Five hundred ninety-five staff at 20 CMHCs were surveyed as part of a large study of mental health worker roles. Data on the endorsement of the ideology of community mental health (CMHI) were obtained. Significant associations were found between ideology and level of education and time allocated to Direct and Indirect Services. Different patterns were noted when specific occupations were considered. Significant associations were also found between CMHI and organizational personal role and role discrepancy. Significant increments in the variance associated with CMHI were accounted for by personal role definition and time spent in Direct and Indirect Services. The absolute level of CMHI among staff was not high. The extent to which CMHCs are carrying out the ideology and the implications of this for the future of the movement is questioned.  相似文献

Mental disorders contribute significantly to the Global Burden of Disease, as four out of the ten diseases with the highest burden are psychiatric. About 25% of all develop one or more psychiatric and behavioural disorders during their lifetime. Unipolar depression ranges as the leading mental disorder with respect to disability adjusted life years. The major psychiatric disorders like schizophrenia and depression are found in all cultures and result in significant disability. There is growing recognition that traditional strategies, such as pullout special education programs and on-site casework and guidance, are no longer sufficient to address the staggering needs of a growing number of troubled children entering U.S. schools. This paper introduces a school-based prevention and intervention method for young adolescents called Responsive Advocacy for Life and Learning in Youth (RALLY). Prevention practitioners, a new role developed by the program, work in classrooms and after-school settings to provide nonstigmatizing support to students. Using a three-tiered prevention model, practitioners integrate a mental health and educational focus to foster students' academic, social, and emotional success. The intervention involves all children of an age cohort in middle schools. The practitioners are developmental specialists who create relationships with youth, teachers, and families in high-risk environments and serve triage functions to existing community and health care institutions. The RALLY intervention builds on normative developmental and developmental psychopathology theory, especially a risk and resilience framework. The paper describes the principles behind the practice and how the work in this field has created innovations in theory and a new impetus for research.  相似文献

目的:调查了解深圳市居民精神卫生服务利用率,分析影响精神卫生服务利用的因素。方法:采用分阶段分层随机抽样的方法,对深圳市户籍及常住非户籍居民共计抽取8920人。采用复合性国际诊断访谈表(CIDI)3.1中文版进行入户调查采集信息,实际完成7134人,计算各类人群的终生和1年精神卫生服务利用率,采用Logistic回归分析精神障碍终生罹患人群精神卫生服务1年利用率的相关因素。结果:深圳市全人群精神卫生服务终生总利用率为4.02%,1年总利用率为1.71%,专业服务终生利用率为2.50%,1年专业服务利用率为0.64%;精神障碍罹患人群精神卫生服务终生总利用率为11.32%,1年总利用率为5.63%,专业服务终生利用率为6.69%,1年专业服务利用率为2.25%;Logistic回归分析结果显示性别、宗教信仰、童年期抚养人精神异常史、自杀观念是影响精神障碍终生罹患人群精神卫生服务1年利用率的因素。结论:深圳区域的精神卫生服务利用水平较低,该地区相当一部分有精神卫生服务需求的居民未能享有专业服务;精神障碍终生罹患人群中男性、有宗教信仰者、童年期抚养人有精神异常史者、有自杀观念者更容易接受精神卫生服务。  相似文献
