The purpose of this research was to construct a nursing care concept, based on the understanding of nurses and students from an undergraduate course. This is a qualitative study. A focus group was used to construct a nursing care concept for use in undergraduate teaching. The research was carried out at Faculdade Católica Rainha do Sert?o in Quixadá, CE, Brazil, from August to December 2007. Three categories emerged from the process: the understanding of the care concept, nursing care and the meaning of care. The constructed concept involved attitudes of awareness, ethics, zeal, solidarity and love, which express a "know-how" based on science, art, ethics and esthetics, directed at individual, family and community needs.  相似文献

This study identifies some undergraduate nursing students' imaginary manifestations concerning themselves and care delivered to patients with orthopedic and/or trauma disorders. The Social Poetics method was used and the research group was composed of 15 undergraduate students. Only the categories and subcategories exclusively related to the "student" are presented in this paper. Data revealed that care provided by orthopedic nursing students is the result of a care relationship that emerges from their sensitivity toward patients and their own knowledge, skills and attitudes. The orthopedic treatment, equipment and procedures, to which patients are submitted, cause important emotional distress for students, empathic behavior and encourage them to search for ways to minimize their patients' pain. All the aspects that permeate care provided by orthopedic nursing students should be identified in order to enable reassessment of the teaching-learning process.  相似文献

The study evaluated the knowledge and attitudes of sophomore nursing students toward human sexuality, and compared their scores with national normative values for nursing students and undergraduate, nonmedical females. Further, the effect that a five‐credit hour, human sexuality course had on the students was investigated. The Sex Knowledge and Attitude Test, developed by Lief and Reed, was utilized. The students’ pre‐ and posttest scores were analyzed, including sample size, group means, and standard deviations. There were significant differences of knowledge scores on (1) the pre‐ and posttest scores of the sophomore nursing students, and (2) the post‐test scores of the second‐year nursing students and the national undergraduate, nonmedical females. The national nursing students’ scores and the sophomore nursing students’ posttest scores did not indicate significant differences.

The attitudinal section of the questionnaire was divided into four sections—autoeroticism, abortion, acceptance of sexual myths, and heterosexual relations. Autoeroticism showed the greatest change. It was concluded that this investigation should be followed by additional research to test the effects of human sexuality courses on attitudinal and knowledge change.  相似文献

The education of ethics and bioethics in schools of nursing in Brazil has presented strictly conceptual and deontological approaches, which often bear little relation to future professional practice. So the goal of this study was to present a proposal for teaching of ethics and bioethics in the integrated curriculum in undergraduate nursing Federal University of S?o Jo?o Del Rei, MG, Brazil. The results show that the content is provided in all units curriculum of the course covering the classical dilemma in the practice of care in all stages of the life cycle. Furthermore, this approach provides students with the development of autonomous and reflective attitudes, confronting culture and values with the biopsychosocial aspects.  相似文献

OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to measure the improvement in attitudes towards interprofessional collaboration of undergraduate health care students who have a single module of interprofessional problem-based learning (PBL) using real patients as triggers integrated into their curricula. DESIGN: A dedicated module, consisting of 5 PBL seminars, was integrated into the undergraduate medical, nursing and physiotherapy curricula at the participating institutions. Seminar groups consisted of students from a single profession in the control group, and of evenly distributed students from the participating professions in the intervention group. The Interdisciplinary Education Perception Scale was used to measure improvements in attitudes towards interprofessional co-operation. Patients, faculty members and students were included in the evaluation of the interprofessional module and their comments examined for indications of adverse effects of the use of patients in this setting. RESULTS: A total of 177 students were recruited into the study and assigned to 1 of 16 seminar groups, all of which attended the complete module, 8 in control mode and 8 in intervention mode. Statistically significant improvements could be identified in the overall attitudes of male students in the intervention group, and in attitudes pertaining to the competence and autonomy of individuals in one's own profession in the intervention group as a whole. No significant improvements were detected in the control group. No adverse effects of the use of real patients came to light. CONCLUSIONS: The integration of an interprofessional educational module that requires limited student and faculty time in undergraduate health care curricula may be proven to have an effect. The Interdisciplinary Education Perception Scale may be suitable for measuring such effect. Real patients may continue to contribute to education in this setting.  相似文献

Relatively little is known about the specific attributes of health professional students which may influence their attitudes towards both interprofessional teamwork and interprofessional education. A survey was distributed to all pre-licensure health professional students from medicine, nursing, pharmacy and social work programmes at our institution. Respondents were asked to rate their attitudes towards interprofessional healthcare teams and interprofessional education using validated and reliable scales reported in the literature. Information on the respondents' gender, profession, year of study and prior experience with interprofessional education was also collected. There was no significant difference between attitudes of medicine and nursing students towards interprofessional teamwork; however, both these student groups report significantly less positive attitudes towards interprofessional teams than pharmacy and social work students. Medicine students reported significantly less positive attitudes towards interprofessional education than nursing, pharmacy and social work students. Female students and senior undergraduate students reported significantly more positive attitudes towards interprofessional teamwork and interprofessional education, while students reporting prior experience with interprofessional education reported significantly more positive attitudes towards interprofessional teamwork. Profession, gender and year of study appear to be attributes which were related to more positive attitudes towards both interprofessional teamwork and education.  相似文献

Changes in the practice of health care delivery to include a greater focus on community-based care is becoming an issue of increasing importance throughout the Western World. In Australia, factors such as a reduction in the average patient stay within acute care hospitals and the allocation of additional funds to community resources presents evidence of this change in focus. Nurses, who form the largest professional group involved with health care delivery, must by necessity become an important part of such change. A significantly larger number of nurses will be required to work in the community in the future. Despite this trend, there is a paucity of research examining the attitudes of student nurses towards a possible career in the area of community health. In order to address this deficit, a longitudinal study examining the career preferences of undergraduate nursing students is being conducted. The study sample comprises undergraduate nursing students from 9 universities in the State of Victoria. The results of stage 1 of this research are presented in this paper. The findings indicate that at the commencement of their educational program, undergraduate student nurses do not have a strong understanding of or interest in the area of community health nursing. A preference for employment within a hospital environment, particularly in the highly technical areas, and in the care of mothers and babies, is evident. The implication of these findings for the future of community health nursing is briefly discussed.  相似文献

This study evaluates the self-esteem of undergraduate students of nursing, that through a workshop developed mechanisms for improving their self-esteem, considering that this is the most propitious time for students to multiply health care actions. Methodology: the research was carried out with 156 undergraduate students of the third year. Socio-drama techniques of Neurolinguistics were used and the evaluation was done according to Minayo. It was possible to observe that students usually confuse self-esteem and self-image, and that both are stereotyped for for men and women. As nurses are always worried about the client/patient's life quality, they neglect themselves. In this case, the Workshops were essential for the students to rescue interior knowledge about themselves, and to realize that in order to take good care of clients/patients, they must be physically and psychologically healthy.  相似文献

目的探讨护理专业大学生情绪智力现状研究。方法采用目的抽样的方法将某医科院校的890名1~5年级护理专业的大学生(简称护生)纳入该组研究中,共采用情绪智力量表情绪智力量表统计调查大学本科、大学专科以及专科3个不同学历层次护生的情绪智力水平,针对存在的问题提出解决对策。结果所有护生的情绪智力量表总分平均分为(3.64±0.47)分,可以看出大多数护生的得分均处于中等水平;在4个情绪智力量表中,所有护生的情绪调节调控得分>调控他人情绪得分>情绪感知得分>运用情绪得分。且3组不同学历层次护生在调控他人情绪量表和情绪感知量表2两项因子评分和情绪智力量表总分方面相比较数据有明显的差异(P<0.05)。本科护生的情绪智力量表得分为(3.58±0.41)分,大专护生的情绪智力量表得分为(3.77±0.43)分,中专护生的情绪智力量表得分为(3.47±0.42)分;可见大专护生的情绪智力量表得分>本科护生>中专护生。一年级到五年级护生的情绪智力量表总分分别为(3.65±0.43)分、(3.43±0.47)分、(3.72±0.53)分、(3.31±0.46)分、(3.43±0.52)分;可见三年级的护生情绪智力总分较高,其次分别为一年级、五年级、二年级和四年级。结论护生的情绪智力总体水平不高,教育工作者与管理者需加强对护生情绪智力培养的重视,提高情绪智力水平,提升专业归属感和职业认同感,更好地融入到临床护理工作中。  相似文献

目的比较2种不同评价方法在护理本科生临床教学实习中的应用效果。方法选择125名三年级护理本科生,在内、外科护理学课程2周的教学实习过程中,分别应用书写整体护理病历和撰写护理个案论文2种评价方法。教学实习结束后,采用自行设计的问卷进行调查。结果学生认为书写整体护理病历评价教学实习有利于提高整体护理临床思维的能力,撰写护理个案论文有利于培养学生的科研意识,提高其护理信息能力和掌握科研方法。结论 2种评价方法各有特色,应有机结合,为培养学生综合能力提供平台和机会。  相似文献

Male and female undergraduate students were surveyed concerning their sexual attitudes, sexual behaviors, and contraceptive behavior. In addition, the general attitudes about sexuality the students perceived as communicated to them by their parents, their church, and their peers were assessed. It was found for female students that general attitudes about sexuality, as defined on an erotophilia-erotophobia dimension, and sexual behaviors were correlated with the perceived attitudes of peers, rather than those of parents and church. However, male students' attitudes and some sexual behaviors were correlated with the perceived attitudes of their parents, rather than the views of their peers and church. Church attitudes were not found to be related to any of the measures. None of the sources of influence, parents, peers, or church attitudes, or erotophilia-erotophobia was related to contraceptive behavior.This article is taken from the first author's undergraduate honors thesis, prepared under the supervision of the second author.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to explore differences and similarities in health care students’ attitudes towards working with and communicating with patients about sexual health issues in their future professions. The aim was also to explore whether the students’ gender, age and future professions were influencing factors and whether there was a change in attitude depending on educational levels, gender, age and future professions. The study also aimed to explore the potential development of those differences and similarities in attitudes between health care students having achieved different levels of education and training in their future professions. A cross-sectional quantitative study was performed with an online survey distributed to nursing, occupational therapy and physiotherapy students. The students believed that they needed increased sexual health education and increased communication skills about sexual health. Gender and future profession are factors that significantly affect the attitudes of the students towards working with sexual health. Nursing and occupational therapy students have a more positive attitude towards addressing sexual health in their future professions than do physiotherapy students. Further research is needed in this field to improve competence in sexual health for all student groups, particularly physiotherapy students. Further research is also needed to explore the significance of gender regarding education in sexual health and attitudes towards working with sexual health.  相似文献

In an exploratory study of the influence of different undergraduate curricula on students' attitudes towards general and family medicine, a questionnaire including a Likert attitude scale was administered to a sample of 1217 first- and fourth-year students at five medical schools with different curricula in Mexico City. The preliminary results suggest that the innovative educational programmes have not apparently had a significant impact on students' attitudes. It is hypothesized that students' perceptions of the job market are stronger in determining their attitudes than the orientation of the curriculum itself. It is also suggested that the differences found among the students of the five schools might have been due to differences in the populations entering them. The instrument developed during the study proved to be sufficiently reliable to warrant further use.  相似文献

目的了解大学本科实习护生对手卫生知识的认知情况及手卫生依从性的相关影响因素,为相关部门采取措施提高护生手卫生依从性提供参考。方法采用问卷调查法,对67名大学本科实习护生进行手卫生知识和执行依从性影响因素的调查。结果大学本科实习护生手卫生知识得分(19.01±2.16)分,护生手卫生指征、手卫生相关知识得分和手卫生总分与注册护士比较,差异无统计学意义;大学本科护生认为影响其执行手卫生的主要因素是清洁剂、消毒剂刺激皮肤,引起皮肤干燥(98.51%)、工作忙,没有足够的时间(62.69%)、未对洗手或擦手的效果进行有效的监控(62.69%)等。结论大学本科实习护生对手卫生有普遍较高的认知,但依从性不够,需要采取措施提高实习护生手卫生意识,完善手卫生基础设施,加强手卫生监管。  相似文献

This research aimed at understanding the meaning of undergraduate research for supervisors of Nursing scholarship students in a university in the South of Brazil. The methodological reference used was the Grounded Theory, by the means of interviews with seven undergraduate research scholarship advisors forming two sample groups. The phenomenon "glimpsing undergraduate research activities of research groups coordinated by nursing advisors, the basis of competency formation in research of the scholarships" emerged form the interrelation of six categories. To be a advisor and researcher of human resources in research form undergraduation requires pedagogical, instrumental, and managerial competencies associated to research policies of nursing and health.  相似文献

The process of teaching consists in determining the entire procedure of education seeking more efficient methods to provide the society of formation. The objective was to evaluate the perception of students of the nursing undergraduate program on the teaching learning strategies experienced. The research is qualitative research which data were collected by a semi-structured interview applied to 12 nursing students. It was made by the content analysis. The data collected led to two categories with their units of analysis. The results showed that the practice of alternative education enable the student beyond the scientific-technical teaching for the education of the professional as a human being by participation of students, group interaction and technological innovations.  相似文献

To understand safe sexbehavior in two countries which have been differentially affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic, the present study compared the AIDS-related knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of 920 heterosexual undergraduate students in Australia and 228 heterosexual undergraduate students in South Africa. South African students were found to have significantly less knowledge about HIV/AIDS, and significantly less favorable attitudes toward safe sexbehavior than their Australian counterparts. Theywere also more likely to report that they have avoided various groups of people for fear of contracting AIDS. Experience from Australia over the period 1986-1995 suggests that significant improvements in the AIDS-related knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of South African undergraduates are achievable.  相似文献

目的:探讨在护理学基础实验教学中强化护生职业道德教育的效果。方法:在2010级115名本科护生护理学基础实验教学中强化护生的职业道德教育。分别在实验教学前、后采用护士职业态度量表评估护生职业情感。结果:实验教学后护生的职业态度显著高于实验教学前,差异有统计学意义(x2=39.73,P<0.01)。结论:在护理学基础实验教学中,强化护生的职业道德教育可以培养护生正性职业态度,改变护生专业思想观点和态度倾向。护理教师在教学过程中应将护生的操作技能教育和职业态度教育相结合,注重护生护理职业情感的培养,促进护生形成稳定积极的职业态度。  相似文献
