The inaccuracies of the casting and fitting processes associated with semiprecision intracoronal attachment systems may compromise the fit of the completed prosthesis. The objective of using metal prefabricated intracoronal semiprecision attachments is to improve the adaptation between the matching attachment surfaces used in the fabrication of removable partial dentures. In milled dovetail or waxed dowel rests, the attachment of one side is completed and the other is cast to match. The prefabricated attachment system presented uses a matching component cast directly against the precast metal rest-mandrel. This reduces the inaccuracies resulting from waxing, investing, and casting.  相似文献

The rationale of designing a semiprecision or precision distal-extension removable partial denture and the justification of ridge loading in distal-extension ridge impression techniques have been presented. The fabrication of semiprecision rest systems will differ depending on whether a prefabricated rest system or milled-in rest system is indicated. In a prefabricated rest seat, a die-related model must be used and the rest seats must be waxed into the wax pattern. A means of fabricating both locking and nonlocking rests has been described. The instruments and tools necessary for the milled-in rest seat have been illustrated. The need for a stress-releasing attachment for distal-extension removable partial dentures is satisfied by the Thompson dowel rest. In fabricating the Thompson dowel rest prosthesis, both vertical parallelism and horizontal parallelism are essential for rotation. The use of a parallelometer and the parallel rule insures precise positioning of the Thompson dowel rest, which in turn, will enable the distal extension partial to rotate.  相似文献

目的:观察不同类型附着体固位可摘义齿的临床效果。方法:采用冠外精密附着体、磁性附着体、套筒冠作为固位装置制作可摘义齿,对游离端缺失下颌义齿和多牙缺失病例32例进行修复。随访6个月~3年,对义齿美观舒适性、固位力、咀嚼功能、摘戴适应情况及基牙松动、义齿下沉加衬情况进行观察。结果:所有病例对义齿美观舒适、固位力、咀嚼功能均感满意。30例对义齿摘戴适应(93.75%),2例感到义齿摘取不便(按扣式、套筒冠义齿各1例)。结论:附着体固位可摘义齿兼有固定、活动义齿的优点,能达到良好的临床修复效果。  相似文献

An indirect technique for fitting a new cast gold crown or fixed partial denture (FPD) to an existing removable partial denture (RPD) is presented. This method uses an acrylic resin coping made on a definitive cast fit directly to the patient's RPD intraorally, with the new FPD subsequently completed on the cast. The patient does not have to relinquish the RPD for laboratory procedures, although an appointment is required to fit the coping intraorally where contact is made with the RPD.  相似文献

With recent advances in dental technology, titanium is currently used for fabrication of crowns, fixed partial dentures, implant frameworks, and removable partial denture frameworks. The use of titanium-aluminum-vanadium (Ti-6Al-4V) alloy assumes that it imparts similar anti-corrosion characteristics to the commercially pure titanium. A clinical and radiographic study of removable partial dentures supported by lower canines connected by alveolar bars was made over a 3-year period. The clinical health of the hard and soft tissues and the function of the prostheses were evaluated. Making an impression of an edentulous jaw is an essential part of producing a removable complete denture, because the proper functioning of the denture is partially dependent on the volume and form of the alveolar ridge and the surrounding soft tissue, in particular the musculature. Before the impression of the maxillary and mandibular jaw is made, insight into the anatomy of the maxilla and the mandible as well as the soft oral tissues is also essential. With respect to this, a 5-phase approach for the impression-making procedure is introduced, which gives guidelines for the fabrication of the preliminary impression, the preliminary cast, the individual impression tray, the final impression and the final cast. In each phase, the concern is to achieve the best possible stability of the denture. Adequate stability can only be achieved by determining the denture borders accurately.  相似文献
