This study investigated the relationship of plasma leptin to obesity, diabetes and hyperlipidaemia in Asian Northern Indian subjects, considered to have a predisposition to abdominal obesity and metabolic syndrome. A total of 72 subjects, subcategorised into lean and obese healthy subjects, lean and obese Type 2 diabetic and lean and obese non-diabetic hyperlipidaemic subjects were recruited. High leptin values were observed in all obese groups, and obese diabetic patients showed the highest levels. In lean and obese diabetic subjects, plasma leptin did not show any correlation to any index of glycaemia. When all lean and all obese subjects were analysed in two separate groups, body mass index (BMI), percent total body fat, and body density significantly correlated with the plasma leptin levels (p<0.05). Leptin values, when correlated to all variables in all patients taken together, showed the greatest magnitude of correlation with BMI (r=0.64), percent total body fat (r=0.67), and waist circumference (r=0.51). Strong inverse correlation was seen with body density (r=-0.67). Levels of serum insulin did not show any correlation with leptin levels in all subjects combined, and separately in various groups. Multiple linear regression analysis performed in obese, non-diabetic and normolipidaemic subjects, all Type 2 diabetic and all non-diabetic hyperlipidaemic subjects separately showed that percent total body fat is the only significant predictor of plasma leptin concentration in all the 3 groups. The present study suggests that plasma leptin has a strong positive correlation with percent total body fat in Asian Northern Indian subjects. Among other components of metabolic syndrome, only abdominal obesity is weakly correlated to serum leptin levels.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Taste preferences for highly palatable foods rich in sugar and fat may underlie the current epidemic of obesity. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to determine whether the hedonic response to sweet and creamy solutions differs between whites and Pima Indians and whether a preference for these tastes predicts weight gain. DESIGN: One hundred twenty-three Pima Indian and 64 white volunteers taste tested solutions of nonfat milk (0.1% fat), whole milk (3.5% fat), half and half (11.3% fat), and cream (37.5% fat) containing 0%, 5%, 10%, or 20% sugar by weight. Solutions were rated for perceived sweetness, creaminess, and pleasantness (hedonic response) on a 100-mm visual analogue scale. Follow-up body weight was measured in 75 Pima Indians 5.5 +/- 3.0 y ( +/- SD) after baseline taste testing. RESULTS: The Pima Indians had a significantly (P = 0.006) lower hedonic response than did the whites (repeated-measures analysis of variance). Neither body size (P = 0.56) nor adiposity (P = 0.86) was a significant predictor of the hedonic response. There was a positive correlation (r = 0.28, P = 0.01) between the maximal hedonic response at baseline and subsequent weight gain in the Pima Indians. CONCLUSION: Although the Pima Indians liked sweet and creamy solutions less than the whites did, a heightened hedonic response for these solutions among the Pima Indians was associated with weight gain.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To reassess the relationship between body fat and plasma leptin concentrations when a) replicate measures of leptin are made; b) energy intake is controlled at isoenergetic levels before the study; and c) body fat and percent body fat are measured with dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA). RESEARCH METHODS AND PROCEDURES: Two separate studies were conducted. In the first study, four plasma samples were collected for measurement of leptin over 30 minutes on a single day in 43 lean and obese men and women. For the second study, plasma samples were collected on four consecutive days from a group of 50 lean and obese men and women. Percent body fat (and body fat mass) was related to log-transformed mean plasma leptin concentrations using linear regression analysis; multiple linear regression analysis was used to determine whether there was an effect of gender on this relationship, and the analysis of Choi was used to examine whether percent body fat or body fat mass better predicts plasma leptin concentrations. RESULTS: For the first study, percent body fat was highly correlated (r=0.96, p<0.0001) with log-transformed mean leptin concentrations. No difference in the relationship between leptin and percent body fat in men and women was detected. The second study confirmed this observation; the relationship between ln leptin and percent body fat was virtually identical (r=0.93, p<0.001). Analysis of the pooled data suggests that percent body fat is a better predictor of plasma leptin concentration than body fat mass. The use of multiple (as opposed to a single) leptin measurements did not significantly improve the leptin/body fat relationship. DISCUSSION: When robust body composition techniques and diet control measures are taken into consideration, the relationship between ln plasma leptin concentrations and percent body fat is not different in men and women.  相似文献

Food intake rate has previously been derived from observation of eating behavior in laboratory settings or in public eating establishments. Although it has been suggested that obese individuals eat faster than lean individuals, observations of such an "obese eating style" have yielded mixed results. In the present study, the relationship between ad-libitum food intake rate and obesity was evaluated over 4 days on a metabolic ward in 28 healthy Pima Indian men (Mean +/- SD; 29 +/- 7 y, 100.4 +/- 27.1 kg, 33 +/- 10% body fat) using an automated food selection system containing a large variety of foods. Total energy intake averaged 18829 +/- 3299 kJ/d consisting of 47 +/- 4, 40 +/- 3, and 13 +/- 1 percent of carbohydrate, fat and protein, respectively. The average meal duration was 25 +/- 7 min. Food intake rate was 68 +/- 21 g/min while carbohydrate, fat and protein intake rates were 23 +/- 6, 9 +/- 3 and 6 +/- 2 g/min, respectively. Food intake rate correlated negatively with % body fat (r = -0.61, P < 0.01). Similar relationships were found between the intake rates of carbohydrate, fat and protein and body fatness. Only prospective studies will indicate whether a slow food intake rate may contribute to the etiology of obesity by possibly reducing satiety.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: In an exploratory positron emission tomography study of postprandial regional cerebral blood flow, which is a marker of neuronal activity, obese men differed from lean men in several brain regions, including the prefrontal cortex. The subjects received a meal proportional to their body size; therefore, the meal volume was different for each person. OBJECTIVE: We investigated whether differences in the brain responses of obese and lean men to a meal represent satiety or feelings of gastric distension. DESIGN: We studied 9 lean (x +/- SD body fat: 15 +/- 5%; age: 33 +/- 10 y) and 9 obese (body fat: 31 +/- 4%; age: 32 +/- 10 y) men given a fixed amount (400 mL) of a liquid meal. We compared their results with those in 11 lean (body fat: 16 +/- 5%; age: 35 +/- 8 y) and 11 obese (body fat: 33 +/- 5%; age: 28 +/- 5 y) previously studied men given a meal proportional to their body size. We performed analyses by using a two-level, random-effects approach in the STATISTICAL PARAMETRIC MAPPING software package and a significance level of P < or = 0.001, uncorrected for multiple comparisons. RESULTS: Compared with lean men, obese men had consistently less postprandial activation in the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, irrespective of meal size. CONCLUSION: Because the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex has been implicated in the inhibition of inappropriate behavior, satiety, and meal termination, differential responses of neuronal activity to food intake in this area may contribute to a propensity for obesity or to the difficulty in losing weight experienced by obese men.  相似文献

BACKGROUND & AIMS: Fuel utilisation and storage in lean and obese subjects seem to be differently affected by the macronutrient distribution intake. The aim of this intervention study was to explore the extent to which the fat mass status and the macronutrient composition of an acute dietary intake influence substrate oxidation rates. METHODS: Fuel utilisation in 26 women, 14 obese (BMI = 37.1 +/- 1.1 kg/m2) and 12 lean (BMI = 20.6 +/- 0.5 kg/m2) was measured over 6 h to compare the metabolic effect of a single balanced protein (HC) meal and a high protein (HP) single meal, which were designed to supply similar energy contents (1672 kJ). The macronutrient composition as a percentage of energy of the HC meal was 55% carbohydrate, 15% protein and 30% fat, while the HP meal contained 40% carbohydrate, 30% protein and 30% fat. Nutrient oxidation rates and energy expenditure were calculated by indirect calorimetry (hood system), whereas exogenous amino acid oxidation was estimated from the 13C isotopic enrichment of breath after oral administration of L[1-13C]leucine. RESULTS: Fasting lipid oxidation was higher in the obese than in the lean women (P < 0.05), and it was significantly correlated with body fatness (P < 0.01). A single HP meal consumption produced higher postprandial fat oxidation as compared with HC meal intake (P < 0.02), in both obese and lean subjects, with no apparent changes in glucose oxidation rates. Furthermore, postprandial fat utilisation after the test meal intake was higher in obese than in the lean women (P < 0.01). The time course of 13CO2 in breath followed a similar pattern in both dietary groups, although a non-statistically significant higher trend in protein and 13C-leucine oxidation was found in the HP group. CONCLUSIONS: Net lipid oxidation depends on both short-term dietary composition intake and fat body mass, being significantly higher after a relatively high protein meal as compared to a balanced diet intake and in obese women as compared to lean controls.  相似文献

Body composition in Pima Indians: validation of bioelectrical resistance   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
To assess the validity of bioelectrical resistance (BR) in an obese population, body composition was determined by both hydrostatic weighing and by BR in 156 Pima Indian volunteers representing a wide range of body weight (46.1-202.6 kg) and body composition (11-52% fat). A predictive equation was derived by use of data on height, BR, weight, age, and sex from 130 randomly selected volunteers and was applied to the remaining 26 volunteers. When compared with the manufacturer's software, the new equation increased correlations with hydrostatic weighing for predicting percent body fat and fat-free mass (FFM) from 0.70 to 0.92 and 0.79 to 0.97, respectively. The manufacturer's software underestimated FFM by 5.3 +/- 8.6 kg (P less than 0.05) when compared with FFM derived from hydrostatic weighing whereas the new equation improved the accuracy to -0.1 +/- 3.3 kg (NS). There were no significant effects of fluid intake (700 mL) or breakfast consumption on body composition as determined by BR. BR represents a simple and accurate way to assess body composition in Pima Indians with our newly derived equation.  相似文献

The energy cost of daily physical activity was derived for 30 Pima Indians ages 19–71 using simultaneous measurements of total daily expenditure and basal metabolic rate in the free-living situation. The body fat of the subjects ranged from 10 to 45%. Weight-adjusted indexes of physical activity correlated negatively with percent body fat, reinforcing the hypothesis that obesity occurs with a lower level of physical activity.  相似文献

目的 观察 2型糖尿病 (DM)和葡萄糖耐量异常 (IGT)患者血清游离脂肪酸 (FFA)的水平 ,探讨FFA与胰岛素(INS)、胰岛素抵抗 (IR)和甘油三酯 (TG)的关系。方法 采用酶法测定 2 0例 2型DM和 2 0例IGT患者口服葡萄糖耐量试验 (OGTT) 0和 2h血清FFA水平 ,同步测定血浆葡萄糖 (PG)、血清INS以及空腹TG和胆固醇 (TC) ,并与 2 0例正常人对照。结果  2型DM和IGT患者OGTT 0和 2hINS均显著高于正常对照组 ,且 2型DM患者INS高于IGT患者 ,P <0 .0 5 ;空腹FFA和胰岛素抵抗指数 (HOMA -IR) 2型DM患者高于IGT患者 ,IGT患者高于正常对照组 ,P <0 .0 1;TG和OGTT 2hFFA 2型DM患者高于IGT患者和正常对照组 ,P <0 .0 5 ,而IGT患者和正常对照组之间比较差异无显著性 ;多元逐步回归显示空腹FFA是HOMA -IR的独立影响因素。结论 不仅 2型DM患者而且IGT患者存在FFA异常升高 ,FFA升高与IR有关 ;2型DM和IGT患者存在IR和脂代谢紊乱 ,FFA反映脂代谢紊乱可能较TG更灵敏的指标  相似文献

Postprandial leptin response to carbohydrate and fat meals in obese women   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
OBJECTIVE: To assess the postprandial leptin responses to a carbohydrate and a fatty meal in obese subjects and its association with postprandial insulin response. METHODS: Eight obese and 11 lean women were given, in a random order, an isocaloric carbohydrate meal (3.43 MJ, 166g of carbohydrates, 38g of proteins) or fat meal (3.35 MJ, 70g of fat, 36g of proteins) or remained fasting. Blood samples were collected hourly during the nine hours after the meal for leptin, insulin, C-peptide and glucose determinations. RESULTS: In obese subjects, as in lean subjects, postprandial leptin response, calculated as the increment above fasting values, was higher after the carbohydrate meal than after the fatty meal (p < 0.01). However, after the carbohydrate meal, postprandial leptin increment was lower (p < 0.05) in obese subjects than in lean controls. In contrast, there was no difference in postprandial leptin response between lean and obese subjects after the fatty meal. Correlation analyses showed that the area under the postprandial leptin response curve (leptin AUC) was correlated to insulin AUC in lean (r = 0.70, p < 0.01), but not in obese subjects. CONCLUSION: These results indicate that postprandial leptin response is lower after a carbohydrate meal in obese women than in lean controls, suggesting an impairment of postprandial leptin regulation in obese women.  相似文献

Whereas diet-induced obese rabbits have been used to study various aspects of obesity, alterations of lipid metabolism in this model have not been clarified. This study aimed to compare plasma nonesterified fatty acid (NEFA) and triglyceride (TG) kinetics in obese and lean rabbits by means of U-(13)C16-palmitate infusion. Young female rabbits consumed either a high-fat diet (49% energy from fat) ad libitum to develop obesity (n = 6) or a normal diet (7.9% energy from fat) as lean control (n = 5). After 10 wk of feeding, the body weight of obese rabbits (5.33 +/- 0.05 kg) was greater (P < 0.001) than that of lean rabbits (3.89 +/- 0.07 kg). The obese rabbits had higher concentrations of plasma NEFA and TG and a greater rate of fatty acid (FA) turnover. Whereas the fractional secretion rates of hepatic TG did not differ, 100% of hepatic secretory TG was synthesized from plasma NEFA in the lean rabbits compared to 59% in the obese rabbits (P < 0.001). In the lean rabbits, hepatic lipase-mediated hydrolysis of lipoprotein TG did not contribute to the FA pool for synthesis of secretory TG, consistent with the naturally occurring deficit in hepatic lipase in this species. We conclude that lipid metabolism in diet-induced obese rabbits is similar to that in obese humans. The deficiency in hepatic lipase in rabbits simplifies the quantitation of hepatic lipid kinetics.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: Because leptin production by adipose tissue is under hormonal control, we examined the impact of epinephrine administration on plasma leptin concentrations. RESEARCH METHODS AND PROCEDURES: We measured plasma leptin, insulin, and free fatty acid (FFA) responses after a 60-minute epinephrine infusion (0.010 microg/kg fat free mass/min) followed by a 30-minute recovery period (no infusion) in a group of 11 lean (mean body mass index +/- SD: 22.6 +/- 1.1 kg/m(2)) and 15 obese (30.0 +/- 1.3 kg/m(2)) premenopausal women. Leptin, insulin, and FFA levels were measured in plasma before (-15 and 0 minutes) and at every 30 minutes over the 90-minute period. RESULTS: In both lean and obese individuals, plasma leptin was significantly reduced by epinephrine (p < 0.0001). Body fat mass was associated with fasting leptin levels (r = 0.64, p < 0.0005) as well as with the decrease in leptinemia (r = -0.51, p < 0.01) produced by epinephrine administration. Furthermore, we noted a large range of leptin response to epinephrine among our subjects, especially in obese women (from -12 to -570 ng/mL per 60 minutes). However, there was no association between postepinephrine leptin and FFA levels (r = -0.14, p = 0.55). DISCUSSION: Results of this study indicate that leptin levels decrease after epinephrine administration in both lean and obese premenopausal women. However, the heterogeneity in the response of leptin to catecholamines suggests potential alterations of the leptin axis that may contribute to generate a positive energy balance and, thus, may favor weight gain in some obese individuals.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: Dietary calcium intake, especially from dairy products, may have a protective effect against obesity. This study aimed to determine if calcium intake is associated with body weight and adiposity in Pima Indians, an obesity-prone population. RESEARCH METHODS AND PROCEDURES: Subjects were 65 Pima Indian adults (35 men/30 women, age 33+/-8 years [mean+/-standard deviation]) participating in a study of eating behavior and 78 Pima Indian children (36 boys/42 girls, age 10.4+/-0.3 years) participating in a study of childhood obesity. Height and weight were measured, and body composition was determined by dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry. Food intake in adults was assessed using the Block 1998 Food Questionnaire; food intake in children was assessed using a 24-hour recall with parental assistance. RESULTS: In adults, mean energy intake was 3,163+/-1,037 kcal/day, mean percentage of energy from fat was 41%+/-7%, and calcium intake was 914+/-333 mg/day. In children, mean energy intake was 1,988+/-733 kcal/day, mean percentage of energy from fat was 36%+/-9%, and calcium intake was 637+/-352 mg/day, half the recommended daily intake for this age group. There were no significant associations between calcium intake and body weight (r=0.05, P=.71; r=0.04, P=.73), body fat (r=0.16, P=.19; r=0.12, P=.42), or body mass index (r=0.01, P=.97; r=0.04, P=.77) in either adults or children, respectively. DISCUSSION: One explanation for the lack of association between reported calcium intake and body size in Pima Indians may be that the high-fat, high-energy diet consumed by the population overwhelmed the "anti-obesigenic" effect of calcium. CONCLUSIONS: We were unable to find an association between calcium intake and body size or adiposity in Pima Indian adults and children. Although the essentiality of calcium to bone health is well established, the role of calcium and dairy product intake in obesity and weight management remains uncertain.  相似文献

This study examined the relationships among body fat, diet composition, energy intake, and exercise in adults. Male (n = 107) and female (n = 109) adults aged 18-71 y (36.6 +/- 1.0 y, means +/- SEM) were hydrostatically weighed to determine body fat (5.7-49.0% of total weight). Diet and exercise behaviors were determined by use of a questionnaire. As body fat increased, percent of energy intake derived from fat increased (p less than 0.001) whereas the percent from carbohydrate decreased (p less than 0.001). There was no relationship between energy intake and adiposity although leanness and exercise were related (p less than 0.001). When subgroups of lean and obese subjects were compared, the lean subjects derived approximately 29% of their energy from fat and 53% from carbohydrate vs 35% and 46%, respectively, for the obese subjects. No differences were found between groups for energy intake but the lean individuals exercised more often than did the obese individuals. These data suggest that diet composition may play as important a role in fat deposition as do energy intake and lack of exercise.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: Plasma concentrations of interleukin-6 (IL-6), a proinflammatory cytokine produced and released in part by adipose tissue, are elevated in people with obesity and type 2 diabetes. Because recent studies suggest that markers of inflammation predict the development of type 2 diabetes, we examined whether circulating plasma IL-6 concentrations were related to direct measures of insulin resistance and insulin secretory dysfunction in Pima Indians, a population with high rates of obesity and type 2 diabetes. RESEARCH METHODS AND PROCEDURES: Fasting plasma IL-6 concentrations (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay), body composition (DXA), insulin action (M; hyperinsulinemic euglycemic clamp), and acute insulin secretory responses to glucose (25 g intravenous glucose tolerance test) were measured in 58 Pima Indians without diabetes (24 women, 34 men). RESULTS: Fasting plasma IL-6 concentrations were positively correlated with percentage of body fat (r = 0.26, p = 0.049) and negatively correlated with M (r = -0.28, p = 0.031), but were not related to acute insulin response (r = 0.13, p = 0.339). After adjusting for percentage of body fat, plasma IL-6 was not related to M (partial r = -0.23, p = 0.089). DISCUSSION: Fasting plasma IL-6 concentrations are positively related to adiposity and negatively related to insulin action in Pima Indians. The relationship between IL-6 and insulin action seems to be mediated through adiposity.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To test the hypothesis that caloric and fat intake in a pre-load meal have no subsequent effects upon blood glucose and insulin concentrations, perceived hunger, subsequent food intake and appetite control in lean and obese men. DESIGN: Lean and obese men reported to the laboratory in the morning in a fasted state where they were subject to an eating test based on the pre-load-test meal paradigm, using a double-blind protocol. The breakfast pre-load was either a reduced caloric low-fat (LF) meal or an overfeeding high-fat (HF) meal. LF was 20% of each individual's average daily energy requirement (ADER) and comprised 60% carbohydrate, 27% protein, and 13% fat, whilst HF was adjusted to yield 55% of the ADER, and comprised 45% carbohydrate, 22% protein and 43% fat. The pre-loads on both trials were administered as one single mean, and were given in a random order. After 5(1/2) h, an ad libitum test-lunch was given to determine how much energy was consumed. Between the two meals, blood samples were collected and subjective hunger ratings were assessed hourly. These variables were measured at 30-min intervals for 75 min after the ad libitum meal. STUDY PARTICIPANTS: Twelve healthy men, six of whom were lean (BMI 22. 50+/-1.08 kg.m2) and six of whom were obese (BMI 39.05+/-11.63 kg. m2) were recruited. RESULTS: When given 55% of their ADER in a HF pre-load meal, the obese group consumed more energy (5426+/-1126 kJ; F1,20=11.45, P<0.01), than the lean group did (3473+/-1114 kJ), accounting for 45% of the ADER in that meal setting. However, no differences between lean and obese intake were noted at the test meal following a LF pre-load. The lean group exhibited a significant inverse correlation (r=0.628, P<0.05) between serum insulin concentration before eating the test meal and the amount of energy consumed at the test meal, while such a relationship was absent in the obese group. CONCLUSION: The obese males were unable to compensate for the caloric overloading when fed a HF (55% ADER) pre-load at a subsequent test meal, whereas a calorically reduced pre-load (20% ADER) produced similar intakes to the lean control group. The inverse relationship noted in the lean group between insulin levels before the test meal and the energy intake at that test meal suggests that insulin may play a role in the regulation of appetite - satiety mechanism in lean males. The absence of such a relationship in the obese may suggest the site for possible appetite dysfunction contributing to obesity. These results further suggest that when obese individuals consume a high-fat meal they are prone to passive overconsumption, whereas lean study participants appear to be more resistant to such a phenomenon.  相似文献

The thermic effect of 1.67 MJ (400 kcal) of carbohydrate (glucose), fat, protein and mixed meal were examined in 11 lean and 11 obese subjects by indirect calorimetry. The changes in metabolic rate in response over 90 min period (30-120 min after the meal) to the different meals were compared with that seen after a similar volume of low calorie drink. The thermic effects of glucose and protein were not significantly different between lean and obese subjects. Obese subjects showed very little increase in metabolic rate following ingestion of fat (-0.9 +/- 2.0%, mean +/- SEM) and this was significantly different from that seen in lean subjects (14.4 +/- 3.4%). The thermogenic response to mixed meal was also significantly lower in obese subjects when expressed as percentage change (12.9 +/- 2.3% compared to 25.0 +/- 4.8%). There was no evidence for delay in gastric emptying times for glucose and fatty meal in the six obese subjects in whom these were measured. We conclude that obese subjects show a reduced thermogenic response to fat.  相似文献

目的 探讨低体重和肥胖儿童身体成分特点及其脂肪肌肉含量与骨密度的相关性.方法 选择2015年6月至2016年6月于眉山市妇幼保健院儿保门诊体检的5~7岁儿童为研究对象,按体质量指数(BMI)分为低体重组、肥胖组和对照组,测量身体成分各项指标,包括体脂比、全身脂肪含量、肌肉含量及局部和全身骨密度,并对结果进行分析.结果 同性别儿童低体重组的体脂比、全身脂肪含量、肌肉含量及局部和全身骨密度均分别明显低于对照组,二者之间差异均具有统计学意义(t=3.076~3.326,均P<0.05);同性别儿童对照组的体脂比、全身脂肪含量、肌肉含量及局部和全身骨密度均分别明显低于肥胖组,二者之间差异均具有统计学意义(t=2.998~3.427,均P<0.05).经Logistic回归分析:低体重组儿童的肌肉含量与不同部位骨密度均呈正相关性(r=0.779~0.889,均P<0.05);肥胖组男性儿童的肌肉含量与下肢骨密度、体脂比和全身脂肪含量与躯干骨密度均呈正相关性(r=0.779~0.882,均P<0.05),肥胖组女性儿童肌肉含量与上肢骨密度,以及体脂比、全身脂肪含量和肌肉含量与下肢骨密度均呈正相关性(r=0.781~0.901,均P<0.05);对照组儿童的肌肉含量与不同部位骨密度均呈正相关性(r=0.779~0.912,均P<0.05),对照组女性儿童的体脂比、全身脂肪含量和肌肉含量均与下肢骨密度和全身骨密度均呈正相关性(r=0.805~0.912,均P<0.05).结论 与正常儿童相比,低体重和肥胖儿童身体成分构成,各指标与骨密度的相关关系明显不同于正常儿童.在对儿保门诊儿童管理中,体重、体脂比、全身脂肪含量、肌肉含量的变化均是需要关注的重要指标,从而促进其骨骼健康发育.  相似文献

Maximizing postprandial energy expenditure and fat oxidation could be of clinical relevance for the treatment of obesity. This study investigated the effect of prior exercise on energy expenditure and substrate utilization after meals containing varying amounts of macronutrients. Eight lean (11.6%+/-4.0% body fat, M+/-SD) and 12 obese (35.9%+/-5.3% body fat) men were randomly assigned to a protein (43% protein, 30% carbohydrate) or a carbohydrate (10% protein, 63% carbohydrate) meal. The metabolic responses to the meals were investigated during 2 trials, when meals were ingested after a resting period (D) or cycling exercise (Ex+D; 65% of oxygen consumption reserve, 200 kcal). Energy expenditure, substrate utilization, and glucose and insulin responses were measured for 4 hr during the postprandial phase. Although postprandial energy expenditure was not affected by prior exercise, the total amount of fat oxidized was higher during Ex+D than during D (170.8+/-60.1 g vs. 137.8+/-50.8 g, p< .05), and, accordingly, the use of carbohydrate as substrate was decreased (136.4+/-45.2 g vs. 164.0+/-42.9 g, p< .05).After the protein meal fat-oxidation rates were higher than after carbohydrate intake (p< .05), an effect independent of prior exercise. Plasma insulin tended to be lower during Ex+D (p= .072) and after the protein meal (p= .066). No statistically significant change in postprandial blood glucose was induced by prior exercise. Exercising before meal consumption can result in a marked increase in fat oxidation, which is independent of the type of meal consumed.  相似文献

The effects of dietary 1,3-diacylglycerol-rich oil (DG oil) on glucose and lipid metabolism were investigated in comparison with triacylglycerol (TG) oil in female genetically obese Wistar fatty rats. The obese rats and their lean littermates (8 wk old) were fed a synthetic diet containing 10%, (w/w) DG or TG oil for 5 wk. The body weights, abdominal fat weights, and the plasma and liver TG concentrations were not significantly different due to dietary fat type in the obese and lean rats. The plasma glucose concentrations were significantly elevated by dietary DG oil as compared to TG oil in the portal vein and inferior vena cava of obese and lean rats. The plasma free fatty acid concentrations were markedly elevated by dietary DG oil as compared to TG oil in the portal vein and inferior vena cava of both genotype rats, particularly in the obese rats. In the glucose tolerance test, the obese rats fed DG oil showed glucose intolerance, possibly due to the markedly elevated plasma free fatty acids. Thus, the effects of dietary DG oil on lipid-lowering effects and anti-obesity were not observed in either genotype in the present study.
