Abstract of Systematic Review of Randomized Controlled Trial of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the Treatment of Depression

In order to investigate the efficacious Chinese medicine for depression, 6 studies according with criteria and 367 randomized patients were included in this review. Compared with western medicine or western medicine plus other therapies or blank control, Chinese medicine can＇t lower the scores of self-rating depression scale （-1.58, 95%CI-3.39- -0.23, p=0.09）; but it is likely to lower the scores of Hamilton depression scale （-0.91, 95%CI-1.97-4）.15, p〈0.00001, 0 was included in the 95% CI）. Although the scores of Hamilton depression scale are possibly lowered, reviewer thinks that more proof is needed to authenticate the above-noted conclusion. The prospect of Chinese medicine for depression is promising; more qualified randomized controlled clinical trials are warranted to assure its efficacy.

Medical model, which guides medical practice, belongs to the field of philosophy. It is retrospectivecognition in medicine abroad and changes with the conditions of medical practice. The biologicalmedical model came out in the 15th century. Since then, it has made a great deal of contributions tothe development of medicine. In the late years of the 19th century, biological medical model showedinadequate in some aspects. It was not replaced by biopsychosocial medical model until the 20thcentury. The model of traditional Chinese medicine is prospective. Its formula is Time-Space-Social-Psychological-Biological, which includes more elements than the model of modernmedicine, guiding the practice and development of traditional Chinese medicine for more than twothousand years     

Chinese Herbal Medicine for Lung Cancer:A Critical Literature Review

INTRODUCTIONLung cancer (LC) is one of the most prevalent malignancies with high mortality and poor progno-sis. In 1990, LC represented 12.8% of the total new cancer cases and 17. 8% of the total cancer deaths, while five-year survival was only 11%. Current management for LC includes surgery for localised tumours, and chemotherapy or radiotherapy for those at an advanced stage when tumours have spread to other organs. Patient resistance to these approaches, which is often based on concerns about adverse effects, may reduce the acceptance of these therapies by LC patients.

A Study of Tumor Apoptosis Induced by Medicine Serum of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Objective Adopting serological methods of compound Chinese medicine that including ＇Yi-Fei-Yin＇ to treat lung cancer, ＇Yi-Chang-Tai＇ to treat lung cancer and ＇Wei-Ai-Ning＇ to treat gastric cancer to explore the induced effect on the tumor cell apoptosis. Methods （1） Culture conventionally A549 human lung cancer cell lines, CCL229 human colorectal carcinoma cell lines and gastric cancer cell line SGC7901, and observe under the inverted microscope. （2） Three Chinese medicine compound which were decoction, three consecutive days of intragastric administration to rats, last administration was two hours before the animals were killed, according to the serum drug Preparation prepared medicinal serum. （3） Three drugs were cultured in serum of A549 human lung cancer cell lines, CCL229 human colorectal carcinoma cell lines and cell line SGC7901 48 hours. （4） With rubber scraper scraped cells, cell suspension will be transferred to the centrifuge tube centrifuge 2000 rpm/min, 15min, Agar processing into pieces, washed with PBS, 1% osmium acid fixed, gradient ethanol and acetone dehydration, epoxy-embedded mesh, the conventional ultra thin section, electron stain. （5） To observe and take a picture under the JEM1200 TEM. Results （1） The parapodium of tumor cells decreased even disappeared, endocytoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria and other cell organelles for Poly IC, chromatin condensation, margination a ＇crescent＇. （2） It is apoptosis characteristic structure--the membrane parcels, containing some of the broken device and cell chromatin of apoptotic bodies. Conclusion Compound Chinese medicine serum has the function to induce tumor cells apoptosis, widely used for clinical medicine compound against lung cancer, gastric cancer and colorectal cancer provide reliable experimental evidence.
