Lung cancer is the most common cancer for both men and women in the world, accounting for 1.2 million new cases annually[1]. It is a growing worldwide problem, especially in developing countries. The majority of patients with common lung cancer will not be cured by local or system therapy. Because the outlook for lung cancer remains gloomy in terms of prognosis and survival, with over 80% of patients died within a year of diagnosis, and treatment tends to be largely palliative[2,3], the purpos…  相似文献

Background and Objective:Intravesical administration of Bacillus Calmette-Guèrin(BCG) after transurethral resection is by far the most effective local therapy for superficial bladder cancer, the fifth most common cancer in the world. However, approximately one-third of patients fail to respond and most patients eventually relapse. In addition, there are pronounced side effects of BCG therapy, such as BCG sepsis and a high frequency of BCG-induced cystitis. This study established a novel immunotherapy through immob...  相似文献

Lung cancer is the most common cancer-related death in both men and women in the world. Approximately 25% of all cancer deaths are attributable to lung carcinoma. Moreover, about one-half of patients with lung cancer have metastases at the time of initial diagnosis, most frequently of lymph nodes, adrenals, liver, bone and brain.  相似文献

Gastric cancer is one of the most common causes of cancer death worldwide. Surgery is the most widely utilized treatment for resectable gastric cancer. Evidence indicates that lymph node involvement and depth of invasion of the primary tumor are the most important prognostic factors for gastric cancer patients. Therefore, lymph node clearance is deemed a key procedure in gastric cancer surgery for the prognostic value to patients. Although the appropriate lymphadenectomy during gastrectomy for cancer still remains controversial, extended lymph node dissection (D2 lymphadenectomy) should be recommended in high volume hospitals.  相似文献

Colorectal cancer(CRC) is the second deadliest cancer and the third-most common malignancy in the world. Surgery, chemotherapy, and targeted therapy have been widely used to treat CRC, but some patients still develop resistance to these treatments. Ferroptosis is a novel non-apoptotic form of cell death. It is an iron-dependent non-apoptotic cell death characterized by the accumulation of lipid reactive oxygen species and has been suggested to play a role in reversing resistance to anticancer dr...  相似文献

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common primary liver cancer (1). The incidence is rising in the last decades due to many factors, especially hepatitis C, alcoholic liver disease and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis. Moreover, the introduction of screening programs in patients with chronic liver disease has led to an increase in HCC diagnosis (1,2). In the western world, 80% to 90% of HCC eases occur in patients with liver cirrhosis (3) while this proportion is lower in some regions in Asia and sub-Saharian Africa, where hepatitis B remains as an important etiologic factor for chronic liver disease (2,4). In 1990, the annual world frequency of HCC was 437,000 cases/year (1), and in 2012 the number reached 782,200 cases/year being responsible for 746,000 deaths (5). Nowadays, HCC represents the 6th most frequent neoplastic disease in the world and the 3rd in mortality (5).  相似文献

Lung cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer and a leading cause of cancer mortality worldwide, with adenocarcinoma being the most common histological subtype. Deeper understanding of the pathobiology of non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) has led to the development of small molecules that target genetic mutations known to play critical roles in progression to metastatic disease and to influence response to targeted therapies. The principle goal of precision medicine is to define those patient populations most likely to respond to targeted therapies. However, the cancer genome landscape is composed of relatively few "mountains" [representing the most commonly mutated genes like KRAS, epidermal growth factor(EGFR), and anaplastic lymphoma kinase(ALK)] and a vast number of "hills"(representing low frequency but potentially actionable mutations). Low-frequency lesions that affect a druggable gene product allow a relatively small population of cancer patients for targeted therapy to be selected.  相似文献

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the second most common cause of cancer death worldwide. Distant metastasis is the major cause of death in patients with CRC. During progression to metastasis in which malignant cells disseminate from the primary tumor to seeding other organs, a multistep process is involved. Cancer cells proliferate, invade microenvironment, en- ter into the blood circulation, then survive and colonize into distant organs. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) are key regulators and mechanism in tumorigenesis and cancer metastasis. We review the roles of EMT and microRNAs, especially EMT related microRNAs in the metastatic pathway of CRC. MicroRNAs provide us a set of potential therapeutic applications and molecular target for CRC.  相似文献

Esophageal cancer is a common disease with a very poor prognosis. In 1985, esophageal cancer was estimated to be the ninth most common cancer worldwide. Nearly 50% of the world's esophageal cancer occurs in China.[1] Over the past 40 years, systematic research work has been done on precancerous lesions of the esophagus, Previous studies have reported that dysplasia of esophageal epithelium is an essential step in esophageal carcino-genesis. It is already validated as a predictor of cancer inc…  相似文献

Gastric cancer is one of the most frequent cancers worldwide, and it is the second most common cause of cancer-related deaths. The mechanism involved in carcinogenesis still remains unsettled. The outcome of clinical treatment is largely depended on early detection of the cancer. Thus further study of the molecular mechanism for the development of gastric cancer is beneficial to deeply understanding the biology of the cancer and improving the early detection of the cancer. Breast cancer is one of the most commonly seen malignant tumors in the female population, and it ranks the first in the incidence of malignancies among women. The skeleton is a common metastatic site for advanced breast cancer and is where spinal metastasis is most frequently seen. The incidence rate of spinal metastasis in descending order is as follows: thoracic vertebrae, lumbar vertebrae, sacrococcy-geal vertebrae and cervical vertebrae. Although osseous metastasis of breast cancer is very common, cases with metastasis to all vertebral bodies is currently very rare. The diagnostic method of osseous metastasis of breast cancer typically includes radiograph, CT and MRI. Ordinary radiograph has a high specificity but a low sensitivity, so total vertebral body metastases can only be detected when the extent of osteoclasia exceeds 50%. Some diagnostic shortcomings remain, although the sensitivity of CT and MRI has been greatly improved compared to the radiograph. At present, the most advanced synchronous PET-CT visualization can presumably raise the sensitivity and specificity in the diagnosis of breast cancer, based on the features of 18F-FDG imaging, and combined with morphologic change and precise localization. The following case report is in regard to a patient with total vertebral body metastasis from breast cancer detected by PET-CT.  相似文献

Cancer is the commonest cause of death after cardiovascular disease. The incidence of the various malignancies is very different. However, it can be said that carcinoma of the lung for man and breast cancer for women are the most common types in the western countries and our country. It is well known that tumor detection in the earliest stage and the application of the most effective treatment modality are crucial issues in the curability of malignant tumors.  相似文献

Human bladder cancer is one of the most common malignant diseases in urogenital system. Traditional therapies are far from successful, especially in advanced cases[1,2]. Targeted therapy with specific antibody is considered a promising strategy for the treatment of diseases as carcinoma, immune disorders and infectious diseases, and so on[3-5]. BDI-1 is an anti-human bladder cancer monoclonal antibody produced through hybridoma technique. It has undergone a series of trials with good results…  相似文献
