Forty-eight patients with narrow-angle glaucoma were treated with M-900 argon laser (Coherent Radiation, USA). Reduction of intraocular pressure as low as 20 +/- 1.82 mm Hg on an average was achieved. Fluid discharge efficacy coefficient has improved. The authors claim that laser cyclotrabeculospasis a sufficiently effective method for the treatment of primary narrow-angle glaucoma.  相似文献

Cyclocryocoagulation is successful in 86% of eyes with narrow-angle glaucoma, i.e., intraocular pressure is lowered to a maximum of 23 mm Hg with or without additional local therapy postoperatively. Therefore, this procedure represents a real alternative to the fistulating operation, especially with regard to prevention of malignant glaucoma. One interesting observation was the postoperative widening of the chamber angle. It is still not known whether the pressure-lowering effect is caused not only by a reduction in aqueous production but also by an improvement in outflow.  相似文献

Photocoagulation of the iris surface in the course of rubeosis iridis was performed in 11 patients (12 eyes) with secondary absolute glaucoma. The intraocular pressure was lowered down to 30-35 mm Hg in 8 eyes, in the remaining 4 eyes it oscillated between 45 and 50 mm Hg. The pain receded in all the cases. One considers the possibility that in the disappearance of pain--besides the lowering of the IOP--a substantial factor was the lesion of the innervation of the iris.  相似文献

Complex examination of the iris under light transformed by various methods - iridochromoscopy with iridochromophotography, transillumination in red light, and fluorescein angiography - was performed on 26 eyes of patients with simple glaucoma and 24 normal eyes of subjects aged between 42 and 76 years. All the methods employed revealed iris changes in 100% of the simple glaucoma cases. The differences found between the study group and the controls were significant (P = 0.01). A highly positive correlation was found between the results of iris fluorescein angiography and iridochromoscopy with iridochromophotography (r = 0.932; P = 0.0005), as well as between the results of iris fluorescein angiography and transillumination in red light (r = 0.921; P = 0.0005). Complex examination of the iris under transformed light showed the most typical changes in simple glaucoma to be exogenous pigmentation of the pupillary and ciliary regions, partial or complete destruction of the pupillary margin, and stromal atrophy affecting the pupil or the entire iris. Defects and thinning of the posterior iris pigment layer, iris vessel permeability disorders associated with hypoperfusion and microneovascularization in the lesser circle and the ciliary region were also found.  相似文献

PURPOSE: To describe three women with narrow-angle glaucoma who had transient blurred vision during sexual arousal. METHOD: Case reports. RESULTS: Three women, aged 37, 45, and 55 years, were seen with bilateral narrow-angle glaucoma and were treated with bilateral laser iridotomy. In each patient, additional surgery was required to control the glaucoma. After establishing a rapport with her physician, each patient described transient blurred vision, from a few minutes to several hours in duration, which began during sexual arousal. This symptom resolved after peripheral iridotomy and, in one patient, after laser iridoplasty. CONCLUSION: The association of transient blurred vision with sexual activity may delay presentation of patients with symptomatic narrow-angle glaucoma.  相似文献

A 71-year-old man with acute myeloid leukemia presented with bilateral uveal and orbital leukemic infiltration presenting as tense bilateral proptosis, orbital inflammation, and acute-angle closure glaucoma. B-scan ultrasonography revealed uveoscleral thickening and anterior rotation of the ciliary body. Orbital CT and MRI showed bilateral proptosis with streaking of intraconal fat. Temporary pressure lowering occurred after lateral canthotomy and inferior cantholysis. Definitive treatment included systemic chemotherapy and steroids. Over a 2-week period, vision improved and proptosis resolved, and the intraocular pressure returned to normal. The patient died of cerebral complications of his illness after 6 weeks. This is the first reported case of orbital and ocular leukemic infiltration presenting simultaneously as tense proptosis and narrow-angle glaucoma.  相似文献

One patient with uveitis presented iris retraction syndrome then developed to angle-closure glaucoma. Ultrasound biomicroscopy showed iris retraction with posterior synechiae and supraciliary effusion. The typical characteristic of iris retraction syndrome—retinal detachment—did not present in this case. Uveitis and supraciliary effusion could be the possible cause of posterior chamber hypotony. The lens subluxation found during the cataract operation alerted us that lens subluxation could be occult in this situation. The authors have stated that they have no significant financial interest or other relationship with any product manufacturer or provider of services discussed in this article.
