Pleurotus ostreatus better known as oyster mushroom is widely cultivated and consumed as food in Malaysia. The present study aims to assess the antioxidative potential and total phenolic content of P. ostreatus aqueous extract. The antioxidant activities were evaluated against DPPH and ABTS radical-scavenging activity, ferric-reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) and β-carotene-linoleate bleaching assay, and the Folin-Ciocalteu method for total phenolic content (TPC). The DPPH and ABTS radical-scavenging activity was found to be 63.20% and 87.29% respectively; antioxidant activity using FRAP at 1.45 mM FE/100g and β-carotenelinoleate bleaching assay was 83.51%, while the TPC was found to be 798.55 mg GAE/100g. These antioxidant activities were compared to synthetic antioxidant, BHA and ascorbic acid. Ascorbic acid showed highest scavenging effects on DPPH and ABTS radical, followed by P. ostreatus and BHA (at maximum safety limit). The ferric reducing power of P. ostreatus was significantly higher than BHA and ascorbic acid. The antioxidant activity as assessed in β-carotene-linoleate bleaching assay was found to be higher in BHA compared to P. ostreatus. The aqueous extract of P. ostreatus was found to respond differently in antioxidant assays. The antioxidative activity of the aqueous extract of P. ostreatus correlated with its total phenolic content. Generally, the antioxidant activities of P. ostreatus' aqueous extract are comparable to that of BHA and ascorbic acid to a certain extent.  相似文献

The aims of this study are to determine and compare the antioxidant levels and activities (i.e. primary and secondary) between selected seeds of Malaysian tropical fruits - guava (Psidium guajava), mango (Mangifera indica L.) and papaya (Carica papaya L.). Seeds are among byproducts from the processing of fruitsbased products. Instead of discarding seeds as waste, seeds with high potential as antioxidants could be utilised for commercial purposes. Accordingly, the selected seeds of Malaysian tropical fruits were tested in this study for total phenolic content (TPC), free radical scavenging activity by 1, 1- diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay and metal ion chelating effect by ferrous ion chelating (FIC) assay. Extraction of antioxidant compounds from sample was done with 70% ethanol. TPCs of the seeds were expressed as gallic acid equivalents (GAE) in mg per 100 g fresh seed weight. TPC assay showed that mango seeds had the highest TPC (i.e. 32 ± 0.001 mg GAE) followed by guava seeds (i.e. 20 ± 0.001 mg GAE) and papaya seeds (8 ± 0.003 mg GAE). For DPPH assay, IC50 data showed that mango seed extract scavenged 50% DPPH radicals at the lowest concentration (0.11 ± 0.01 mg/mL) followed by the positive control BHA (0.13 ± 0.01 mg/mL), guava seed extract (0.26 ± 0.01 mg/mL) and papaya seed extract (0.34 ± 0.01 mg/mL). Interestingly, all seed extracts showed higher free radical scavenging activities than BHA after sample concentration of 0.60 mg/mL. However, FIC assay indicated that metal ion chelating effects of all seed extracts were weaker than BHA suggesting that the fruit seeds are not sources of good metal ion chelators. Overall, present results suggest that TPC of the seeds show strong negative correlation with their primary antioxidant activity (r= -0.985, R2= 0.970), and not all compounds in extracts which could scavenge DPPH radicals are good metal ion chelators. Mango seeds relatively showed the highest antioxidant level and primary antioxidant activity followed by guava seeds and papaya seeds.  相似文献

Waste obtained from six genotypes of tomato was subjected to evaluation as potential sources of hydrophilic antioxidants on the basis of content of total phenolics (TPh; from 11.7 to 18.6 mg/g), total flavonoids (TFl; from 7.62 to 12.1 mg/g) and ascorbic acid (AA; from 0.51 to 1.89 mg/g), and antioxidant activities. The antioxidant activities of tomato waste extracts were evaluated using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging activity, ferrous ion chelating activity (CA) and reducing power (RP) assay. The O(2) tomato waste extract was found to have the strongest antioxidant activity in scavenging DPPH radicals (effective concentration, EC(50) = 0.18 mg/ml). The Saint Pierre tomato waste extract showed the best performance in RP assay (EC(50) = 1.57 mg/ml). The Rutgers tomato waste extract exhibited a strongest CA (EC(50) = 1.49 mg/ml). The linear correlation analysis produced moderate-to-high correlation coefficients between the antioxidant activities and TPh, TFl and AA.  相似文献

Leaf extract of Stevia rebaudiana promotes effects on certain physiological systems such as the cardiovascular and renal and influences hypertension and hyperglycemia. Since these activities may be correlated with the presence of antioxidant compounds, leaf and callus extracts of Stevia rebaudiana were evaluated for their total phenols, flavonoids content and total antioxidant capacity. Total phenols and flavonoids were analyzed according to the Folin–Ciocalteu method and total antioxidant activity of water and methanolic extracts of stevia leaves and callus was assessed by ferric reducing/antioxidant power (FRAP) assay as well as 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay. The total phenolic compounds were found to be 25.18 mg/g for stevia leaves and 35.86 mg/g for callus on dry weight basis. The flavonoids content was found to be 21.73 and 31.99 mg/g in the leaf and callus, respectively. The total antioxidant activity was expressed as mg equivalent of gallic acid, ascorbic acid, BHA and trolox per gram on dry weight basis. Total antioxidant activity found was ranged from 9.66 to 38.24 mg and 11.03 to 36.40 mg equivalent to different standards in water and methanolic extract of stevia leaves, respectively. In case of stevia callus, it was found to be 9.44 to 37.36 mg for water extract and 10.14 to 34.37 mg equivalent to standards for methanolic extract. The concentrations required for 50% inhibition (IC50) of DPPH radicals were 11.04, 41.04 and 57.14 μg/mL for gallic acid, trolox and butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), respectively. The percent inhibition of DPPH radical of various extracts of stevia leaves and callus found were ranged from 33.17% to 56.82%. The highest percent of inhibition was observed in methanolic extract of callus.  相似文献

Seven different wild legume seeds (Acacia leucophloea, Bauhinia variegata, Canavalia gladiata, Entada scandens, Mucuna pruriens, Sesbania bispinosa and Tamarindus indica) from various parts of India were analyzed for total free phenolics, l-Dopa (l-3,4 dihydroxyphenylalanine), phytic acid and their antioxidant capacity (ferric-reducing antioxidant power [FRAP] and 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl [DPPH] assay) and type II diabetes-related enzyme inhibition activitiy (α-amylase). S. bispinosa had the highest content in both total free phenolics and l-Dopa, and relatively low phytic acid when compared with other seeds. Phytic acid content, being highest in E. scandens, M. pruriens and T. indica, was highly predictive for FRAP (r = 0.47, p < 0.05) and DPPH (r = 0.66, p < 0.001) assays. The phenolic extract from T. indica and l-Dopa extract from E. scandens showed significantly higher FRAP values among others. All seed extracts demonstrated a remarkable reducing power (7-145 mM FeSO4 per mg extract), DPPH radical scavenging activity (16-95%) and α-amylase enzyme inhibition activity (28-40%).  相似文献

Antioxidant properties of brown seaweed (Sargassum siliquastrum) extracts were evaluated using various antioxidant measurements, i.e., inhibitory effect on thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances (TBARS), 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging, metal chelating effect, reducing power effect, and total phenolic compounds. When the extraction solvents n-hexane, chloroform, ethanol, and water were compared, the water extract showed the highest yield in extracted mass. Total phenolic compounds were the highest in the ethanol extract, with 127.4 mg/g. The TBARS inhibition of chloroform and ethanol extracts at 10 mg/mL was 90.9% and 80.9%, respectively. DPPH radical scavenging capacity was more than 90% in all extracts at 1 mg/mL. The chloroform extract exhibited the highest metal ion chelating ability of 69.6% at 10 mg/mL. The reducing power was found to be the highest in the ethanol extract at 10 mg/mL, showing an effect similar to ascorbic acid. Thus, the ethanol extract of S. siliquastrum has potential as a natural antioxidant.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to compare the antioxidant activities, total phenolics, lycopene and ascorbic acid content of four commercial tomato cultivars (Excell, Tradiro, Flavourine and Campari) of New Zealand, grown under similar hydroponic conditions. The mean antioxidant activity of the four cultivars, as measured with the ABTS radical decolourization assay, ranged from 2329 to 3268 micromole TEAC/100 g dry matter (DM) in the hydrophilic extracts and from 178 to 303 micromole TEAC/100 g DM in the lipophilic extracts. The major antioxidant components per 100 g DM were phenolics (343-451 mg gallic acid equivalents in hydrophilic extract and 53-74 mg gallic acid equivalents in lipophilic extract), flavonoids (175-204 mg rutin equivalents), ascorbic acid (153-195 mg) and lycopene (33-54 mg). Ascorbic acid and flavonoids were found to contribute 28-38% and 29-34%, respectively, to the antioxidant activity of the hydrophilic extract of tomatoes. The results showed that the smallest cultivar (Campari) had significantly (P < 0.05) higher antioxidant activities, total phenolics and flavonoids than the larger sized cultivars (Excell, Tradiro and Flavourine). This could be attributed to the significantly (P < 0.05) higher surface area/volume ratio of the small cultivar (0.15) when compared with the large-sized cultivars (0.10-0.12). The tomato cultivar (Flavourine) with a brighter red colour (higher a*/b* value), had a higher lycopene content as well, which suggests that the a*/b* value of tomatoes can be used as an indicator of their lycopene content. The phenolics (r = 0.84**) and flavonoids (r = 0.88**) were significantly related to the antioxidant activity of the hydrophilic extract, which suggests that measurement of total phenolics or flavonoids can be used as indicators of the antioxidant activity of tomatoes.  相似文献

Water and ethanol crude extracts from black pepper (Piper nigrum) were investigated for their antioxidant and radical scavenging activities in six different assay, namely, total antioxidant activity, reducing power, 1,1-Diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazyl (DPPH) free radical scavenging, superoxide anion radical scavenging, hydrogen peroxide scavenging, and metal chelating activities. Both water extract (WEBP) and ethanol extract (EEBP) of black pepper exhibited strong total antioxidant activity. The 75 microg/ml concentration of WEBP and EEBP showed 95.5% and 93.3% inhibition on peroxidation of linoleic acid emulsion, respectively. On the other hand, at the same concentration, standard antioxidants such as butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) and alpha-tocopherol exhibited 92.1%, 95.0%, and 70.4% inhibition on peroxidation of linoleic acid emulsion, respectively. Also, total phenolic content in both WEBP and EEBP were determined as gallic acid equivalents. The total phenolics content of water and ethanol extracts were determined by the Folin-Ciocalteu procedure and 54.3 and 42.8 microg gallic acid equivalent of phenols was detected in 1 mg WEBP and EEBP.  相似文献

Recently, a number of studies on the health benefits associated with natural compounds have been demonstrated. Phenolics in fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices possess potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimutagenic and anticarcinogenic activities. In the present study, the dried fruits of cinnamon were extracted with ethyl acetate, acetone, methanol and water using a Soxhlet extractor. The total phenolics content of the extracts as determined by Folin–Ciocalteu method were found to be the highest in water extract (44.5%) and the lowest in ethyl acetate (14.4%). The antioxidant activity (AA) of the extracts was evaluated through in vitro model systems such as β-carotene-linoleate, and 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl hydrazyl (DPPH); the antimutagenicity of these extracts was also assayed against the mutagenicity of sodium azide by Ames test using tester strain of Salmonella typhimurium (TA100) at different concentrations. In both the model systems, the AA of the extracts was found in the order of water>methanol>acetone>ethyl acetate. All the extracts decreased sodium azide mutagenicity in S. typhimurium strain (TA100). At 5000 μg/plate all the extracts showed strong antimutagenicity. The antimutagenicity of water extract was followed by acetone, methanol and ethyl acetate. The results of the present study indicate that under-utilized and unconventional part of cinnamon is a good source of antioxidant and antimutagenic phenolics.  相似文献

Antioxidant compounds are abundantly available in plants and play an important role in scavenging free radicals, thus providing protection to humans against oxidative DNA damage. Mentha spicata Linn., commonly called spearmint, belongs to the family lamiaceae. It was selected in the present study because Mentha extracts have antioxidant properties due to the presence of eugenol, caffeic acid, rosmarinic acid and alpha-tocopherol. Four solvent fractions (hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate and water) of ethanolic extract of dried leaves powder of M. spicata were analyzed for total antioxidant activity (TAA) and relative antioxidant activity (RAA) and compared with standard antioxidants such as Quercetin, beta-carotene, L-ascorbic acid and glutathione using ABTS*+ decolorization assay (ABTS/Potassium persulphate). The antioxidant activity was assumed to be from the total phenolic content of the ethanolic extract. Total phenolics are found to be highest in ethyl acetate fraction (54 mg/g) and least in hexane fraction (13 mg/g) and more or less similar in water and chloroform fractions (30-32 mg/g). TAA is found to be less in hexane and chloroform fractions (<53% at 50 microg/ml) and highest in ethyl acetate (95% at 20 microg/ml) and water (84% at 30 microg/ml) fractions. The RAA of ethyl acetate fraction is 1.1 compared to quercetin (at 5 microM/ml), but greater when compared to beta-carotene (15 microM/ml), L-ascorbic acid (15 microM/ml) and glutathione (15 microM/ml). The RAAs with these antioxidants are in the range of 1.31 -1.6. The values of RAAs for water fraction also show similar trend and are in the range of 1.0-1.4. The antioxidant activities of the solvent factions are closely related to the content of total phenolics present in them.  相似文献

The infusions and extracts obtained from leaves with flowers, fruit peel, and seed from hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna Jacq., Family Rosaceae) were subjected to evaluation as potential sources of antioxidant phytochemicals on the basis of their total content of phenolics, levels of phenolic acids, and in vitro antiradical activity. Total phenolic content of extracts was determined using the modified Folin-Ciocalteau method. Antioxidant activity was determined for phenolic extracts by a method involving the use of the free radical 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH). Phenolic acids containing extracts and infusions from hawthorn leaves, fruit peel, and seeds were obtained using different polarity solvents and separated by reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography, which enabled improved separation by the use of a C(18) column, an acidic mobile phase, and gradient elusion. The highest total phenolic content (343.54?mg of gallic acid equivalents/g) and the highest DPPH radical scavenging activity as the inhibition percentage (60.36%) were obtained in ethyl acetate extract from hawthorn leaves with flower. Also, the highest phenolic acid content was measured in the extracts of hawthorn leaves with flowers: protocathechuic (108-128?mg/100?g), p-hydroxy benzoic (141-468?mg/100?g), caffeic (137-3,580?mg/100?g), chlorogenic (925-4,637?mg/100?g), ferulic (3,363-3,462?mg/100?g), vanillic (214?mg/100?g), and syringic (126?mg/100?g) acids. The results indicate that hawthorn is a promising plant because of its high antioxidant activity.  相似文献

Thirty-seven raw vegetables were extracted using four solvent systems: 70% acetone, 70% ethanol, 70% methanol, and distilled water. The extracts were tested for their total phenolic content, total flavonoid content and antioxidant activities (using diphenylpicryl-hydrazyl (DPPH) and ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) assays). The results revealed the effect of different extracting solvents in altering the quantitative analyses of all vegetables and 70% acetone was identified as the most efficient solvent for extracting polyphenolic antioxidants from the vegetables. The highest total phenolic content and total flavonoid content were obtained from 70% acetone extract of Portulaca oleracea (138.2 ± 2.1 mg GAE/g dw basis) and 70% methanol extract of Cosmos caudatus (27.7 ± 1.0 mg QE/g dw basis), respectively. The 70% acetone extract of Etlingera elatior with moderate amount of total phenolic content exhibited the highest antioxidant activity in both assays. The correlation analyses within 37 different extracts of each solvent extraction demonstrated weak to moderate relationships between all the studied parameters. The highest r value of 0.7139 (p < 0.001) was determined between total phenolic contents and FRAP values of the 70% methanol extracts. Meanwhile, a wide range of correlation coefficients was derived from correlation analyses within four different extracts of each vegetable, with the highest relationship between total phenolic contents and FRAP values for the extracts of Coriandrum sativum (r = 0.9998, p < 0.001).  相似文献

The aim of the study was to investigate antioxidant activities of Ganoderma lucidum and Funalia trogii. Ethanol and water crude extracts from G. lucidum and F. trogii were investigated for their antioxidant capacity in some different assays, namely, the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging activity, metal chelating activity against ferrous ions, and plasma lipid peroxidation inhibitory. In addition, the amounts of total phenol, ascorbic acid, β-carotene, and lycopene components in the extracts were determined. Among the four mushroom extracts, G. lucidum water extract and G. lucidum ethanol extract showed the highest scavenging activity against DPPH radicals (50% inhibitory concentration?=?0.055?±?0.001?mg/mL). Total phenol was the major antioxidant component found in the mushroom extracts. These results showed that G. lucidum may be used in pharmaceutical applications because of its effective antioxidant properties.  相似文献

Water soluble cranberry-based phytochemical combinations with oregano, rosemary, and Rhodiola rosea were evaluated for total phenolic content, related antioxidant activity and inhibition of diabetes management-related alpha -glucosidase, pancreatic alpha-amylase inhibition, and hypertension-related ACE-I inhibitory activities. Water extracts of oregano had 114.9 mg/g DW of phenolics which was highest among all the extracts tested, whereas the 75% cranberry with 25% oregano combinations had the highest phenolics (38.9 mg/g DW) among all the combinations tested. The water extracts of oregano had the highest DPPH radical inhibition activity (73.6 %), whereas among combinations the 75% cranberry and 25% oregano had the highest DPPH radical inhibition activity (50.8 %). These results indicated a correlation between total phenolic content and antioxidant activity. The water extracts of pure Rhodiola rosea had the highest alpha -glucosidase inhibition, whereas the 75% cranberry and 25% Rhodiola rosea combination had the highest inhibition among the combinations. In the case of alpha -amylase inhibition the water extracts of Rhodiola rosea had the highest inhibition, whereas the 75% cranberry with 25% Rhodiola rosea combination had the highest inhibition among the combinations. All the water extracts tested indicated that they had anti-ACE-I inhibitory activity. More specifically, among the water extracts 100% cranberry had the highest ACE-I inhibitory activity and among the combination the 75% cranberry with 25% rosemary had the highest ACE-I inhibitory activity. The analysis of alpha -glucosidase,alpha -amylase, and ACE-I inhibitory activities suggested that inhibition depend on the phenolic profile of each unique extract and by bringing together synergistic combinations to cranberry, health beneficial functionality was enhanced. This enhanced functionality in terms of high alpha -glucosidase and alpha -amylase inhibitory activities indicate the potential for diabetes management, and high ACE-I inhibitory activity indicates the potential for hypertension management.  相似文献

The effects of freeze drying and hot air drying on total phenolics, total flavonoids and antioxidant properties of flour from seven-day-old fresh wheatgrass (Triticum aestivum L.) were investigated. In the quantitative analysis of antioxidative components, fresh wheatgrass samples had the highest amount of ascorbic acid and chlorophyll, but the lowest amount of total flavonoids and phenolics. In the analysis of ferric-reducing antioxidant power assay (FRAP), ethanolic extract from freeze-dried wheatgrass gave the highest value, while the α-tocopherol gave the lowest value. In the analysis of 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl scavenging ability, freeze-dried wheatgrass samples exhibited the highest activity among the three samples.  相似文献

The phenylpropanoid pathway (PPP) was stimulated in fenugreek sprouts through the pentose phosphate and shikimate pathway, by natural elicitors such as Fish Protein Hydrolysates (FPH), Lactoferrin (LF) and Oregano Extract (OE). Among treatments 0.5 ml/L FPH elicited fenugreek sprouts had the highest phenolic content of 0.75 mg/g FW on day 3 of germination which was approximately 25 % higher than control on the same day. The antioxidant activity estimated by beta-carotene assay was highest for LF and OE elicited sprouts on day 2 and 4, respectively with an antioxidant protection factor (APF) of 1.47 for both. In all treatments and control, higher antioxidant activity was observed during early germination, which correlates to higher phenolic content, suggesting that initially phenolics are antioxidant in nature. This increased activity also correlates with high guaiacol peroxidase (GPX) activity indicating that the polymerized phenolics required for lignification with growth have antioxidant function. The antioxidant activity as estimated by beta-carotene and 1,1,-diphenyl-2-picryl hydrazyl (DPPH) assays indicate that fenugreek sprout extract can quench the superoxide free radical and also possibly scavenge the hydrogen peroxide generated in the reaction mix. OE elicited the highest levo dihydroxy phenylalanine (L-DOPA) synthesis of 1.59 mg/g FW, followed by FPH with 1.56 mg/g FW and LF 1.5 mg/g FW all on day 2 which was 24.5%, 23 % and 20 % higher than control, respectively. Higher L-DOPA content was observed in the elicited fenugreek sprouts during early germination, correlating to high phenolics and antioxidant activity, suggesting that L-DOPA also contributes to the high antioxidant activity. The glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PDH) activity was higher during early germination (day 1-4) and gradually decreased during later stages (day 5-8) for all treatments and control. The early increase is possibly due to the carbohydrate mobilization from the cotyledons directed towards the high nutrient requirements of the growing sprout. As mobilization occurred, an allosteric feedback inhibition by sugar-phosphates is suggested, as lower G6PDH activity was observed on days 6-8. The elevated levels of GPX during early germination coincide with the higher phenolic synthesis; SOD activity and antioxidant activity suggests the elevated production and quenching of reactive oxygen species by elicitation. High antimicrobial activity against peptic ulcer-linked Helicobacter pylori was observed in the fenugreek sprout extract from control and LF treatments only. We hypothesized that in fenugreek sprouts, simple free phenolics that are less polymerized have more antimicrobial function.  相似文献

ObjectivesThis study was conducted to investigate the antioxidant potential of methanol extract and its derived fractions (hexane, ethyl acetate, butanol, and aqueous) of fruits of Monotheca buxifolia (Falc.) Dc., a locally used fruit in Pakistan.MethodsDried powder of the fruit of M. buxifolia was extracted with methanol and the resultant was fractionated with solvents having escalating polarity; n-hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, n-butanol and the residual soluble aqueous fraction. Total phenolic and total flavonoid contents were estimated for the methanol and various fractions. These fractions were also subjected to various in vitro assays to estimate the scavenging activity for 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), 2,2-azino-bis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS), superoxide, hydroxyl, hydrogen peroxide and reductive ability for ferric ions and phosphomolybdate assay.ResultsThe n-butanol, aqueous and methanol fractions possessed high amount of phenolics and flavonoids compared with other fractions, and subsequently showed a pronounced scavenging activity on DPPH, ABTS, superoxide, hydroxyl and hydrogen peroxide radicals and had a potent reductive ability on ferric ion and phosphomolybdate assay. There was a found significant correlation between total phenolic and flavonoid contents and EC50 of DPPH, superoxide, hydrogen peroxide radical and phosphomolybdate assays, whereas a nonsignificant correlation was found with the hydroxyl radical and ABTS radical assay.ConclusionM. buxifolia fruit can be used as natural antioxidant source to prevent damage associated with free radicals.  相似文献

This study was to determine antioxidant capacity, total phenolics and sugar content of 12 pasteurized and sterilized Thai health beverages, products of The Royal Chitralada Projects. The antioxidant capacities were analyzed using 2,2-diphenyl-l-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging and the photochemiluminescence (PCL) assay. Folin-Ciocalteu assay and Nelson's reducing sugar test were used to determine total phenolic compounds and sugar contents, respectively. Sacred lotus root drink showed the significantly highest antioxidant capacity in both equivalents to trolox and equivalents to ascorbic acid but not in the PCL test. In contrast, chrysanthemum drink and roselle drink showed the significantly highest values of both the total antioxidant capacity of water and lipid-soluble substances in the PCL assay. Bael fruit drink had the significantly highest total phenolic compounds. There were significant correlations between the total phenolic compounds and the antioxidant capacity values of both assays (r = 0.4-0.5).  相似文献
