American College of Medical Informatics Fellows and International Associates, 2008

In 2008, 11 new fellows were elected to the American College of Medical Informatics, and were inducted into the College at a ceremony held in conjunction with the American Medical Informatics Association conference in Washington, DC on Nov 9, 2008. A brief synopsis of the background and accomplishments of each of the new fellows is provided here, in alphabetical order.     

American Medical Informatics Review for 2011

2011 has been a productive year for may hospitals that have gone through the conversion process to a fully integrated EMR. This is expensive and traumatic for the entire staff.We must now throttle back on the accelerator and let these systems settle and mature so that the bugs and problems can be resolved. England made serious mistakes in the pressure they placed on a central control of everything and it has cost them their investment. We need to learn from their experience and let innovation and experimentation be done on what is presently in the field so that we do not force inefficiency and error on those who follow. The companies need to spend less on connectivity and more on system improvement and physician modifications. Less regulatory control and more quality control are needed. Are these new systems really working and are they going to keep working?These questions need answers before more money is spent and perhaps wasted. Without the support of the staff and medical community, this whole investment will be wasted and the effort will be less than optimal. Let's hope sanity returns to Washington this year and we have an opportunity to study and analyze our current progress.

以2006-2015年《美国医学信息学会杂志》刊载论文为样本来源,提取文献记录中的主要主题词进行频次统计后截取高频主题词,形成高频主题词-论文矩阵,根据高频主题词在同一篇论文中的共现情况对其进行聚类分析,根据高频主题词聚类分析结果,分析10年期间该刊的主要研究方向。结果显示,该刊近10年的研究主要集中于临床相关软件或平台开发设计、数据挖掘在医学领域中的应用、临床决策支持系统等8个主题。     

面向非医学信息学专业的医学信息学教材建设探析

列举国内外医学信息学代表教材,参考国际医学信息学会的建议,针对国内非医学信息学专业医学生医学信息学教材存在的问题,提出整合先进的医学信息学内容,阐明教材编写原则及形式,以期加强非医学信息学专业医学生的医学信息学教育水平。     

Don E. Detmer and the American Medical Informatics Association: An Appreciation

Don E. Detmer has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) for the past five years, helping to set a course for the organization and demonstrating remarkable leadership as AMIA has evolved into a vibrant and influential professional association. On the occasion of Dr. Detmer's retirement, we fondly reflect on his professional life and his many contributions to biomedical informatics and, more generally, to health care in the U.S. and globally.

美国急救医师学会(ACEP)在急诊医学年鉴发布了一项指导如何评价和处理在急诊科就诊的晕厥患者的临床指南。晕厥是一种临床综合征,表现为短暂的意识丧失和无法保持姿势紧张,无需通过药物治疗即可自发完全恢复。     

医学信息学的发展与思考

医学信息学作为一门新兴的交叉学科,在过去几十年中得到了快速发展,学科内涵日益丰富,研究领域不断拓展。本文简要介绍医学信息学的内涵,回顾国内外医学信息学的发展历程,分析医学信息学研究的热点问题,并对我国医学信息学的发展进行思考,期望引起进一步的研讨,以共同推动我国医学信息学学科的发展。     

A tribute to Karen Greenwood and her contributions to the American Medical Informatics Association

After 25 years of service to the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA), Ms Karen Greenwood, the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, is leaving the organization. In this perspective, we reflect on her accomplishments and her effect on the organization and the field of informatics nationally and globally. We also express our appreciation and gratitude for Ms Greenwood’s role at AMIA.     

21世纪的医学信息学

情报也称为信息,对医学信息(情报)而言包含两个方面的含义:一个是传统意义上的医学信息学,它侧重于对文献型信息的管理、分析研究,中国的医学信息学就是在医学图书情报基础上发展起来的;另一个是现代意义上的医学信息学,其重点是将计算技术和信息科学应用于医药卫生领域。现代意义上的医学信息学在国外发展很快,而我国刚刚起步。

历数Medical Informatics的定义，总结出这些定义的共有特点；回顾Medical Informatics在美国的历史，并且介绍它在中国的发展状况。     

医学信息学专业的理论与实践

我国医学信息学教育包含医学图书情报教育、信息管理与信息系统专业（医学方向）教育，即“医学（或卫生）信息管理专业教育”、医学信息学专业教育三个体系。在研究中国医学信息学教育的产生与发展过程的基础上，分析我国医学（或卫生）信息管理专业存在的问题，从而提出我国医学信息管理专业的课程体系，提出适合我国医学信息学发展的道路，以女及我国医学（或卫生）信息管理教育的发展方针和政策。
