Bilharzial (schistosomal) ureteritis cystica

We have reported on one aspect of bilharzial ureteritis, namely, ureteral polyps. Herein we report our experience with a different pathologic entity, ureteritis cystica. A clinical, radiologic, and pathologic evaluation is presented. The differentiating points between polyps and cysts are presented.     

A case report of asynchronous bilateral non-specific segmental ureteritis

A case of asynchronous bilateral non-specific segmental ureteritis is presented. The preoperative evaluations for this lesion were considered extremely important, because the radiological and operative findings of this disease are similar to those of ureteral cancer. This lesion has the possibility of multiplicity, especially bilateral occurrence. Conservative management of the kidney should be performed.     

Ureteritis cystica: a case report

This is a case report on a patient with left renal stone and ureteritis cystica. The patient was a 57-year-old male, and he was admitted for a thorough examination of his renal stone. Many sharply-defined radiolucent filling defects were detected in the upper and middle ureter by retrograde pyelography, and he was diagnosed with ureteritis cystica. Since the patient had severe renal function damage, left nephro-ureterectomy was performed. This is the 29th case of pyeloureteritis cystica reported in Japan, and here in its clinical aspects are discussed.     

Colitis cystica profunda simulating rectal carcinoma. A case report

A case of colitis cystica profunda, the patient presenting with haematochezia and a rectal mass, is reported. The clinical and pathological features of this condition are discussed, and the difficulty in distinguishing this lesion from the much commoner rectal neoplasms is emphasised.     

Pyeloureteritis cystica: report of a case

A 68-year-old female patient was admitted for the examination of duplication of right ureter and right hydronephrosis. Antegrade pyelography showed multiple, small, round defects in the ureter from the upper pole of right kidney. Ureteroureterostomy was performed under the diagnosis of ureteritis. Including our case, 25 cases of pyeloureteritis cystica have been reported in Japan.     

Bilateral pyeloureteritis cystica: a case report

We report here a case of bilateral pyeloureteritis cystica. A 67-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital with asymptomatic macrohematuria in September 1999. Drip infusion pyelography and enhanced computed tomography demonstrated multiple small, round filling defects in both renal pelvises and ureters. Ureteroscopy and cold punch biopsy were performed, and histological examination revealed pyeloureteritis cystica. This patient was not given adjuvant therapy but was carefully followed up for 3 years and 6 months postoperatively.     

Eosinophilic ureteritis associated with eosinophilic cholangitis: a case report

Eosinophilic infiltrate of the urinary tract is rare. We report on a patient with eosinophilic cholangitis who later had eosinophilic ureteritis. This case emphasizes the potential serious nature of eosinophilic ureteritis, which often presents with complete ureteral obstruction. The literature pertaining to eosinophilic ureteritis and eosinophilic biliary disease is reviewed.     

Eosinophilic ureteritis? Regional ureteritis with marked infiltration of eosinophils

The case of a thirty-seven-year-old man with eosinophilic granuloma of the ureter is disucussed. Preoperative x-ray disclosed distal ureteric regional stenosis and moderate hydronephrosis with small stone shadows. A segmental ureterectomy and vesicoureteral neostomy wre performed. Pathologic examination of the removed specimen revealed markedly infiltrated eosinophils of the ureteric wall. The literature is reviewed and the causation of eosinophilic granuloma discussed.     

原发性非特异性输尿管炎的诊断与治疗

目的 提高对原发性非特异性输尿管炎的认识。方法 报告３例原发性输尿管炎结合文献对其病因、病理、临床表现作一简要介绍,提出了本病与继发非特异性输尿管炎、输尿管结核、输尿管阴性结石和输尿管癌的鉴别要点。并对本病的治疗方法进行了讨论。结果 术前地一能明确诊断,误诊率较高。手术行输尿管部分切除输尿管膀胱再植术１例,输尿管部分切除输尿管端端吻合术２例,术后随诊效果较好。结论 原发性非特异性输尿管炎术前诊断比     

Recurrent flank pain caused by eosinophilic ureteritis mimicking urinary stone disease: A case report

Flank pain is caused by a variety of pathologies of which urinary stone disease is the most frequent. Eosinophilic ureteritis is a rare stenosing condition of the ureter. Eosinophilic ureteritis can cause flank pain and/or unilateral hydronephrosis. On pathological examination it is characterised by a marked infiltration of the submucosal layers by eosinophils. A relationship of this condition with atopy, hypereosinophilic syndrome and prior ureteral trauma has been described. Surgical resection of the stenosing segment with end-to-end anastomosis is usually a successful treatment. In some cases of proximal disease total nephro-ureterectomy has been performed. One author describes remission of disease after a prolonged oral corticosteroid regimen. In this article we report another case of eosinophilic ureteritis and discuss different treatment strategies. A case of cystitis cystica and glandularis suspected of submucosal tumor of urinary bladder

A case of cystitis cystica and glandularis is reported. The patient visited our hospital with the complaint of terminal miction pain. Cystoscopic examination showed a walnut-sized, well-defined mass in the retrotrigone. The surface of the mass was nodular and partially cystic. Computer tomography showed a mass protruding inside and outside of the bladder. Transurethral biopsies of the mass revealed cystitis cystica and glandularis.
