BackgroundIndividuals affected by chest wall deformities may search for information on these conditions on the web. Google data may reflect the global interest in health-related information. Our aim was to investigate the global trends in searches associated with the topics “Pectus excavatum” and “Pectus carinatum” using Google Trends.MethodsWe retrieved the global data from 1st January 2004 to 31st October 2019. We analyzed the relative search volume (RSV) for countries or areas with a no-low search volume. We compared differences in interest between seasons using the Kruskal-Wallis test with the post-hoc test.ResultsThe median RSV for the pectus excavatum was equal to 58.00 (54.00–65.00) while for pectus carinatum 28.00 (23.25–31.00). The interest in pectus excavatum decreases on average by 0.98 RSV each year, while interest in pectus carinatum increased each year by 0.87 RSV. We observed the highest interest in analyzed topics during summer and the lowest during winter. The relative difference in interest between summer and winter was equal to 21.4% for pectus excavatum and 19.2% for pectus carinatum. Pectus excavatum was the most popular topic in n=51 countries or areas, while pectus carinatum in n=7 countries or areas/regions.ConclusionsGlobally, interest in pectus excavatum is higher than the interest in pectus carinatum that might reflect real-world prevalence. The interest in both topics shows seasonal variation. The Internet is an essential source of information on chest wall deformities. The medical professionals should provide quality content on pectus excavatum and pectus carinatum.  相似文献

ObjectiveThe prevalence of Marfan syndrome (MFS) is estimated to be 1 in 10,000 to 15,000 individuals, but the phenotype of MFS may not be apparent and hence its diagnosis may not be considered by clinicians. Furthermore, the effects of MFS on the lungs and breathing are underrecognized despite the high morbidity that can occur. The objective of this Narrative Review is to delineate the molecular consequences of a defective fibrillin-1 protein and the skeletal and lung abnormalities in MFS that may contribute to respiratory compromise. It is important for clinicians to be cognizant of these MFS-associated respiratory conditions, and a contemporaneous review is needed.BackgroundMFS is an autosomal dominant, connective tissue disorder caused by mutations in the FIBRILLIN-1 (FBN1) gene, resulting in abnormal elastic fibers as well as increased tissue availability of transforming growth factor-beta (TGFβ), both of which lead to the protean clinical abnormalities. While these clinical characteristics are most often recognized in the cardiovascular, skeletal, and ocular systems, MFS may also cause significant impairment on the lungs and breathing.MethodsWe searched PubMed for the key words of “Marfan syndrome,” “pectus excavatum,” and “scoliosis” with that of “lung disease,” “breathing”, or “respiratory disease.” The bibliographies of identified articles were further searched for relevant articles not previously identified. Each relevant article was reviewed by one or more of the authors and a narrative review was composed.ConclusionsThough the classic manifestations of MFS are cardiovascular, skeletal, and ocular, FBN1 gene mutation can induce a variety of effects on the respiratory system, inducing substantial morbidity and potentially increased mortality. These respiratory effects may include chest wall and spinal deformities, emphysema, pneumothorax, sleep apnea, and potentially increased incidence of asthma, bronchiectasis, and interstitial lung disease. Further research into approaches to prevent respiratory complications is needed, but improved recognition of the respiratory complications of MFS is necessary before this research is likely to occur.  相似文献

Background and ObjectiveIn hospitalized patients, opiates are essential analgesics and sedatives used in intensive care unit (ICU) patients. However, the iatrogenic opioid withdrawal syndrome (IOWS) in ICU patients has been poorly characterized, and there are no well accepted, standardized diagnostic tools for hospitalized adults. This review analyzed recent clinical studies to determine the frequency, characteristics, and treatment of IOWS in critically ill adults.MethodsThe initial literature search used the PubMed MeSH terms “Analgesics”, “Opioids”, “Iatrogenic Disease”, and “Neurobiology”. The main focus was on clinical studies describing IOWS in adults receiving intravenous opioids in ICUs.Key Content and FindingsReview of 8 studies indicated that IOWS occurs in 15% to 40% of patients in intensive care units who required opioid infusions. These reports included patients in medical ICUs, trauma ICUs, surgical ICUs, and burn ICUs; many patients also received sedative drugs. Most of the studies used DSM-5 criteria to identify the syndrome. Factors which predicted the development of this syndrome varied from study to study; important considerations included the weaning rate for the opioid, the duration of opioid infusion, and the concomitant infusion of benzodiazepines. Treatment approaches included the reinstitution of the opioid infusion with slower reductions in the rate and the use of an alpha-2 agonist, such dexmedetomidine or clonidine. Many patients appeared to recover without specific treatment.  相似文献

Background and ObjectiveThoracic surgery causes significant pain which can negatively affect pulmonary function and increase risk of postoperative complications. Effective analgesia is important to reduce splinting and atelectasis. Systemic opioids and thoracic epidural analgesia (TEA) have been used for decades and are effective at treating acute post-thoracotomy pain, although both have risks and adverse effects. The advancement of thoracoscopic surgery, a focus on multimodal and opioid-sparing analgesics, and the development of ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia techniques have greatly expanded the options for acute pain management after thoracic surgery. Despite the expansion of surgical techniques and analgesic approaches, there is no clear optimal approach to pain management. This review aims to summarize the body of literature regarding systemic and regional anesthetic techniques for thoracic surgery in both thoracotomy and minimally invasive approaches, with a goal of providing a foundation for providers to make individualized decisions for patients depending on surgical approach and patient factors, and to discuss avenues for future research.MethodsWe searched PubMed and Google Scholar databases from inception to May 2021 using the terms “thoracic surgery”, “thoracic surgery AND pain management”, “thoracic surgery AND analgesia”, “thoracic surgery AND regional anesthesia”, “thoracic surgery AND epidural”. We considered articles written in English and available to the reader.Key Content and FindingsThere is a wide variety of strategies for treating acute pain after thoracic surgery, including multimodal opioid and non-opioid systemic analgesics, regional anesthesia including TEA and paravertebral blocks (PVB), and a recent expansion in the use of novel fascial plane blocks especially for thoracoscopy. The body of literature on the effectiveness of different approaches for thoracotomy and thoracoscopy is a rapidly expanding field and area of active debate.ConclusionsThe optimal analgesic approach for thoracic surgery may depend on patient factors, surgical factors, and institutional factors. Although TEA may provide optimal analgesia after thoracotomy, PVB and emerging fascial plane blocks may offer effective alternatives. A tailored approach using multimodal systemic therapies and regional anesthesia is important, and future studies comparing techniques are necessary to further investigate the optimal approach to improve patient outcomes.  相似文献

Cushing’s syndrome (CS) is rare in childhood and adolescence. The most common paediatric cause of CS is exogenous administration of glucocorticoids; either topical, inhaled or oral corticosteroids. Endogenous causes can be classified into adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) independent and ACTH dependent causes. Herein, we report our experience of managing a 12 year old girl who presented with features of CS and was found to have an ectopic, ACTH-secreting bronchial carcinoid tumour, which was resected surgically. Our patient was managed successfully by multidisciplinary approach and has recovered from hypertension and Cushing’s habitus. The English language literature was searched from 2019 back, using PubMed, Google and Google Scholar. Keywords used for the search were; “Ectopic ACTH syndrome (EAS) in children”, “bronchial carcinoid in children” and “Cushing’s Syndrome in children”. Children with bronchial carcinoid tumours causing EAS were identified. Case variables such as age, sex, type of carcinoid, investigations, surgery, recurrences and outcome were reviewed. Fourteen cases of paediatric bronchial carcinoid producing ACTH were found with a mean age of 15.8 years and female preponderance. Most of the patients had a right lung lesion and histological appearance was typical of carcinoid tumour. Bronchial carcinoid is extremely rare in children and only 4% are associated with CS. The postoperative treatment of CS is challenging with a high prevalence of hypertension, increased body mass index and visceral fat mass, impaired cognitive function and decreased quality of life. A careful follow up is indispensable for monitoring recurrence of carcinoid and complete remission of CS.  相似文献

Background:Integrated neuromuscular training (INT) is a comprehensive and holistic training method. It combines general functional movement training with specialized strength, balance, speed, sensitivity, coordination, enhanced training or rapid telescopic compound training. From the existing research results, the mechanism of INT mainly lies in improving the proprioception of the human body and cognitive level to achieve the impact on the motor sensory system, so as to effectively prevent joint injury and promote the recovery after joint injury.Method:This article is assisted by the third and fourth authors to search the relevant literature. The search strategy is divided into 2 parts: English literature and Chinese literature. English literature search: the keywords “integrated neurological training”, “joint investigation”, and “restoration” are jointly searched with “meta analysis” and “system evaluation”, respectively. The search databases include PsycINFO, Science Direct, PubMed, Eric, and Willey. Chinese literature search: the keywords “integrated neuromuscular training”, “joint injury”, and “recovery” are jointly searched with “meta analysis” and “system evaluation”, respectively. The search databases include the general library of online publishing of academic journals of China Knowledge Network (CNKI) and the full-text database of excellent doctoral theses of China Knowledge Network (CNKI). At the same time, the supplementary search is carried out through literature backtracking, Google Scholar. Results:This study will provide new evidence for the effect of INT on the recovery of joint injury. Conclusion:To provide a method to help the prevention and restoration of joint injury by INT.INPLASY registration number:INPLASY2021120136.  相似文献

BackgroundSurgical stabilization in complex chest wall traumas, especially in case of posterior ribs arch destruction and flail chest, still remains a challenge for thoracic and trauma surgeons. Throughout the years different techniques and materials developed to address the complex anatomy of the ribs and reach an adequate fixation. Our aim is to present a prosthetic-free ribs stabilization technique which is easily reproducible and can achieve an efficient mechanical stabilization of the chest wall.MethodsThis surgical technique can be summarized in three steps: muscle sparing thoracotomy following modified “Shaw-Paulson’s” technique (complete section of the latissimus dorsi muscle along the transverse processes of vertebral spine to rich the serratus muscles plane), prosthetic-free ribs fixation with single stiches (Maxon™ 1) and muscles repositioning.ResultsBetween January 2018 and June 2020, we retrospectively evaluated ten consecutive patients (six male and four female) which underwent a chest wall stabilization because of a posterior ribs destruction and flail chest. No chest wall deformities were observed during follow-up with CT-scan after 4, 30 and 90 days and no patient underwent additional early or late stabilization procedures.ConclusionsIn the case of severe thoracic trauma with chest wall destruction and flail chest, modified “Shaw-Paulson approach” and prosthetic-free fixation technique with Maxon thread should be considered as a valuable option allowing an adequate stabilization of the chest with optimal respiratory function.  相似文献

Pectus excavatum, the most common congenital deformity of the chest wall, has esthetic, psychological and social repercussions as well as a slight impact on pulmonary function. Treatment is surgical and is carried out for esthetic purposes in most cases. The most commonly applied surgical technique is based on the one originally described by Ravitch: sub-perichondrial, bilateral chondrectomy and sternal osteotomy. In 1997, however. Nuss described a minimally invasive approach to correction by means of a support bar. Our objective was to perform minimally invasive correction of pectus excavatum using a substernal extrapleural approach guided by video-assisted thoracoscopy. We treated three patients over 15 years of age without surgical complications. In all three cases, the minimally invasive technique corrected the pectus excavatum with excellent esthetic results. Both the path of insertion and duration were shorter with the described approach than with traditional surgery. Video images facilitated extrapleural insertion of the bar and minimized complications.  相似文献

This study explores the perception of female college students in South Korea regarding cosmetic surgery and its side effects.Face-to-face interviews were conducted with 28 female college students over a period of 4 months, starting in October 2019. All participants were female college students who had not undergone cosmetic surgery. The collected data were analyzed qualitatively, using conventional content analysis.Four categories and 13 subcategories were extracted from 112 meaningful codes reflecting perceptions related to cosmetic surgery and its associated side effects. The 4 categories that emerged in the study were: “reaction to the side effects of cosmetic surgery”, “reasons for cosmetic surgery”, “prospects of the participant''s own cosmetic surgery”, and “prerequisites for decision-making regarding cosmetic surgery”.The results of this study could be used as reference material by surgeons to ensure safer cosmetic surgeries. A sufficient consideration period and patient education prior to selective cosmetic surgery would minimize patient complaints and expand the base of safe cosmetic surgery.  相似文献

Background:No well-designed and systematic evaluation of the efficacy and safety of leonurus japonicus injection (LJI) in combination with carboprost tromethamine has been found. Therefore, we undertook a meta-analysis to assess the efficacy and safety of carboprost tromethamine combined with LJI for the prevention of postpartum hemorrhage in high-risk pregnant women to provide new evidence-based medical evidence for clinical treatment. Methods:This systematic review and meta-analysis would be performed according to Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines. The following databases including EMBASE, MEDICINE, Wanfang, China National Knowledge Infrastructure database, and Cochrane central controlled trial registries were searched by 2 reviewers from inception to July 2021. Mesh and keyword search terms were “motherwort,” “Yimucao,” “leonurus japonicas,” “carboprost tromethamine,” and “postpartum hemorrhage.” Any cohort studies that assessed the efficacy and safety of carboprost tromethamine combined with LJI for the prevention of postpartum hemorrhage would be included. P < .05 was set as the level of significance. Results:The review would add to the existing literature by showing compelling evidence and improved guidance in clinic settings.OSF registration number:10.17605/OSF.IO/2WC53.  相似文献

BackgroundNational data is limited on pectus excavatum, the most common chest wall deformity which is often repaired using the Ravitch and Nuss procedures. The purpose of the study was to describe demographics and outcomes of adult patients who underwent surgical repair of pectus excavatum via open and minimally invasive thoracoscopic methods.MethodsA retrospective analysis of the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS NSQIP) database from 2015 to 2018 was performed, capturing patients 18 years or older with pectus excavatum as the postoperative diagnosis. Patients were placed into two groups of minimally invasive (Nuss) and open (Ravitch) repair procedure code. Baseline characteristics and postoperative outcomes were analyzed.ResultsA total of 168 adult patients were captured. Most of these patients were white (84.52%) male (69.64%) and 26 years old on average. Median operative time was longer in the open repair group [250 (IQR, 173–308) versus 122 (IQR, 94–160) minutes, P<0.0001]. Median length of stay was five days (IQR, 4–6) in the open group and three days (IQR, 2–4) in the minimally invasive group (P=0.2873).ConclusionsComplications after repair of pectus excavatum occur at similar rates between open and minimally invasive repair. Though minimally invasive repair decreases operative time and may decrease length of stay, the decision of type of procedure depends upon clinical scenario and factors unique to the individual patient.  相似文献

BackgroundParapneumonic empyema (PPE) management remains debated. Here we present the outcome of a comparable population with PPE treated over a 4-year period in two Thoracic Surgery University Centers with different approaches: one with an early “surgical” and the other with a “fibrinolytic” approach.MethodsAll operable patients with PPE managed in both centers between January 2014 and January 2018 were reviewed. Patients with persistent pleural effusion/loculations following drainage were managed by a “surgical” approach in one center and by “fibrinolytic” approach in the other. For each patient, we recorded the age, sex, hospital stay, morbidity/mortality and change in pleural opacity on chest X-ray before and at the end of the treatment.ResultsDuring the study period, 66 and 93 patients underwent PPE management in the “surgical” and “fibrinolytic” centers respectively. The population characteristics were comparable. Infection was controlled in all patients. In the “fibrinolytic” group, 20 patients (21.5%) underwent an additional drain placement while 12 patients (12.9%) required surgery to correct PPE. In the “surgical” group, 4 patients (6.1%) developed postoperative arrhythmia while 2 patients (3%) underwent a second surgery to evacuate a hemothorax. Median drainage {3 [2–4] vs. 5 [4–7] days} and hospital {7 [5–10] vs. 11 [7–19] days} durations were significantly lower in the “surgical” compared to the “fibrinolytic” center. Pleural opacity regression with therapy was significantly more important in the “surgical” compared to the “fibrinolytic” group (−22%±18% vs. −16%±17%, P=0.035).ConclusionsSurgical management of PPE was associated with shorter chest tube and hospital duration and better pleural space control. Prospective randomized studies are mandatory.  相似文献

Background:The Mediterranean diet (MD) is an ancient eating habit that is believed to contribute to a healthy lifestyle. Unsurprisingly, research on the MD is growing rapidly as people pay more attention to health preservation and prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of chronic diseases. Previous reviews focused more on the effects of MD on a particular disease which has enhanced its significance in the medicine field. However, few studies have attempted to provide a comprehensive summary and analysis of this topic. This study evaluates the global research trends of scientific outputs related to MD from multiple perspectives, using a bibliometric analysis and visualization tool (CiteSpace software) to scientifically analyze the knowledge from the literature. Methods:The core collection database of Web of Science was used to retrieve the bibliographic records related to MD from 1984 to March 30, 2021. CiteSpace was used to generate and analyze visual representations of the complex data input, including number of publications, research performances in journals, authors, institutions, countries and co-occurrence networks of keywords and co-citation references. Results:Overall, the number of MD publications has shown a significant upward trend since 2012. Nutrients and American Journal of Clinical Nutrition contained the most articles related to MD, indicating that they were important platforms for related research. Martinez-gonzalez Ma and Estruch Ramon are the authors with the highest number of publications related to MD, and it is noteworthy that these 2 authors have close cooperation in this field. The countries with the most publications are Spain and the United States, and the institutions with the most publications are Univ Navarra, Inst Salud Carlos III. The main research disciplines are “Mediterranean diet,” “risk,” “cardiovascular disease,” “adherence,” “obesity,” “coronary heart disease,” “diet,” “health,” “physical activity” and “risk factor”. Estruch R''s 2013 study on cerebrovascular disease and Tricopoulou A''s 2003 mortality study were cited 881 cases for 437 times, respectively, showing the importance of these 2 articles in this field. Conclusion:The current global trends of MD research as well as people''s increasing awareness of healthcare and healthy lifestyle imply that MD research is expected to become increasingly popular with further breakthroughs.  相似文献

BackgroundPatients with anterior chest wall deformities unsuitable for minimally invasive repair are commonly treated by the modified Ravitch procedure. Although rigid plate fixation of the sternal osteotomy has previously shown to facilitate adequate sternal union, its use is troubled by an implant removal rate of up to 23% due to local complaints or complications associated with bulky plates. In contrast, the use of thinner and therefore biomechanically weaker plates may result in a higher incidence of non- or mal-union. In this pilot study, we evaluate the feasibility, efficacy and safety of rigid sternal fixation by thin pre-shaped anatomical locking plates during the modified Ravitch procedure.MethodsBetween June 2018 and December 2019, all consecutive patients who underwent anterior chest wall deformity repair by the modified Ravitch procedure in our tertiary referral centre were included. Data was collected retrospectively. All pectus types were included. The sternal osteotomy was fixated using thin SternaLock Blu plates. Patients were followed for at least one year.ResultsNine patients were included. The group consisted of six male and three female patients, with a median age of 20 years [interquartile range (IQR), 16–35 years]. Median duration of follow-up was 25 months (IQR, 16–28 months). No intraoperative complications occurred. No patients presented with symptomatic non- or mal-union. Plate removal was performed in one patient for atypical pain without relief. No other postoperative complications occurred.ConclusionsBased on these pilot results, thin SternaLock Blu plates are deemed to be safe and effective in providing adequate rigid fixation of the sternal osteotomy during the modified Ravitch procedure. Compared to literature, the need for plate removal within 25 months after surgery was reduced.  相似文献

Background:Common bile duct stone (CBDS) is typically manifested with abdominal pain, chills, fever, and jaundice. Laparoscopic transcystic common bile duct exploration (LTCBDE) and endoscopic sphincterotomy (EST) are currently the main minimally invasive methods for the treatment of CBDS. However, there are few studies about the differences of medium and long-term complication after EST or LTCBDE. Therefore, we will conduct a meta-analysis and systematic review to systematically evaluate the difference of medium and long-term complications between EST and LTCBDE against CBDS.Methods:Randomized controlled trials of EST or LTCBDE against CBDS will be searched in several English and Chinese databases with the following vocabularies: “laparoscopic transcystic common bile duct exploration,” “endoscopic sphincterotomy,” “choledocholithiasis,” “common bile duct stone” until December, 2020. Two reviewers will independently conduct the literature extraction, risk of bias assessment, and statistical analysis. Results and Conclusions:The study will help to systematically evaluate the difference of medium and long-term complication between EST and LTCBDE against CBDS.OSF Registration number:DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/5U7SA.  相似文献

INTRODUCTION: Pectus excavatum or funnel chest is the most common anterior chest wall deformity seen in children and adults. The sternal depression appears to be caused by overgrowth of the costal cartilages, also the cause of the less common deformities: pectus carinatum (pigeon breast) and pectus arcuatum. BACKGROUND: Usually the overgrowth involves the third to seventh costal cartilages but it can be more or less extensive. The cardiopulmonary functional consequences are insignificant in the protrusional deformities and inconsistent in pectus excavatum and the indications for surgery are mainly cosmetic. VIEWPOINT AND CONCLUSIONS: The procedural modalities are guided by morphological study of the CT scan. We describe a surgical technique that comprise subperichondrial excision of all deformed costal cartilages followed by transverse sternotomy to correct the sternal deformity, anteriorly in the case of pectus excavatum and posteriorly for pectus carinatum and arcuatum. As the perichondrial sheaths are totally preserved they are sutured in continuous layers to give a shortening effect. In the case of pectus excavatum the sternum is then secured anteriorly for about 6 months by a retrosternal metallic strut in an overcorrected position. The partially resected seventh cartilages are then sutured to the xiphoid. Other surgical techniques are described, including modified Ravitch's procedure, modelling osteochondroplasty, prosthetic reconstruction and Nuss's procedure. Results of the more important series are reported and discussed.  相似文献

Background and ObjectiveNon-tuberculous mycobacterial lung disease (NTM-LD) manifests with bronchiectasis, inflammatory bronchiolitis, nodules, and/or cavitation. Bronchiectasis is characterized by permanently dilated airways wherein mucus accumulates, creating a vicious cycle of chronic injurious inflammation and recurrent infections. While antibiotics are an important part of the treatment of NTM-LD, airway clearance techniques to mitigate this pathogenic mechanism of bronchiectasis as well as other ancillary measures are also important components of NTM-LD treatment. The objective of this contemporaneous Narrative Review is to emphasize the importance of such ancillary measures.MethodsWe searched PubMed for the key words of “airway clearance”, “pulmonary rehabilitation”, “nutrition”, “swallowing dysfunction”, “gastroesophageal reflux”, “vestibular dysfunction”, or “cochlear dysfunction” with that of “non-tuberculous mycobacterial lung disease”, “bronchiectasis”, or “respiratory disease”. The bibliographies of identified articles were further searched for relevant articles not previously identified. Each relevant article was reviewed by one or more of the authors and a narrative review was composed.Key Content and FindingsHerein, we discuss five ancillary treatment measures that are pertinent to patients with bronchiectasis and NTM-LD: (I) airway clearance; (II) physical and pulmonary rehabilitation; (III) nutrition; (IV) diagnosis and mitigation of swallowing dysfunction and of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD); and (V) minimization of vestibular and cochlear dysfunction associated with some anti-NTM drugs.ConclusionsWhile antibiotics is often the central focus of treatment of NTM-LD, given its propensity for recurrent and recalcitrant infection, other ancillary measures to break the vicious cycle of injurious inflammation and infection should also be emphasized to optimize treatment success.  相似文献

Aims:The incidence of cardiovascular events (CVEs) in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is higher than that in people without RA. This may be because inflammation promotes the progression of atherosclerosis. Anti-inflammatory drugs might reduce the occurrence of CVEs in patients with RA. Methotrexate (MTX) is a conventional synthetic anti-rheumatic drug that is widely used in the treatment of RA. We performed a meta-analysis to determine whether MTX can prevent CVEs in RA patients. Then, we discussed the possibility of using MTX to prevent recurred CVEs in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD).Methods:We searched PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library using the key words “methotrexate,” “cardiovascular,” “acute coronary syndrome,” “coronary heart disease,” “myocardial infarction,” “angina pectoris,” and “rheumatoid arthritis.” The efficacy outcome was defined as a composite of CVEs, including stable angina, acute coronary syndrome, stroke, heart failure, and cardiac death. Results:A total of 10 studies and 195,416 RA patients were included in our meta-analysis, and the effect size of relative risk (RR) was pooled using a fixed effect model. The results showed that MTX prevented CVEs in RA patients (RR: 0.798, 95% CI 0.726–0.876, P = .001, I2 = 27. 9%).Conclusion:MTX can prevent CVEs in RA patients, but there is not sufficient evidence for using MTX to treat patients with CHD.  相似文献

Background:Several studies have reported positive therapeutic effects of electroacupuncture, warm needling, or a combination of the 2 for heel pain; however, the quality of the evidence is limited by methodological limitations. Given that there are no high-quality meta-analyses or reviews incorporating the available evidence, the aim of this study was to systematically review the level I evidence in the literature to determine whether a combination of electroacupuncture and warm needling therapy is more beneficial than acupuncture alone in patients with plantar heel pain syndrome. Methods:From the inception to May 2022, the Wanfang, CNKI, EMBASE, PubMed, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library electronic databases will be searched using the key phrases “acupuncture”, “warm needling”, “electroacupuncture”, “heel pain”, “plantar pain”, and “prospective” for all relevant studies. The outcomes include pain, physical disability, plantar fascia thickness, and foot functional status. Quality assessment of all studies included in this review will be independently assessed by 2 reviewers using the Cochrane Collaborations tool. We consider significant heterogeneity between trials if I2 > 50%, and severe heterogeneity if I2 > 75%. When significant heterogeneity is indicated, we will find the source of heterogeneity by subgroup or sensitivity analysis. Results:The results of our review will be reported strictly following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses reporting guidelines and the recommendations of the Cochrane Collaboration. Conclusions:We initially hypothesized that combination therapy would lead to better treatment outcomes.Registration number: 10.17605/OSF.IO/VWBYJ.  相似文献
