Background: The “Diagnosis and Treatment Guidelines for Chinese Medicine Internal Common Diseases” issued by the Chinese Institute of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) offers many methods for the treatment of aplastic anemia (AA). However, there is a lack of corresponding evidence. Objective: The study aimed to evaluate the clinical efficacy of TCM in the treatment of AA, and provide evidence for the development of guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of AA using TCM. Methods: Data of randomized or semi?randomized control trials of AA treatments with TCM were retrieved, and the selected literature was scored using the Jadad scale. The data were extracted, and RevMan 5.2.6 software was used for the meta?analysis. Results: Two studies on the treatment of AA using Liuwei Dihuang pills combined with compound Zaofan pill were included. The results of the meta?analysis showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the efficacy between Liuwei Dihuang pills combined with compound Zaofan pill and androgen in the treatment of AA (P = 0.65). However, there were less adverse reactions, including liver damage and the hirsutism of women, with the former than the latter (P < 0.05). Other studies on the treatment of AA with TCM did not include reports from clinical trials. Conclusion: TCM had a certain curative effect when used to treat AA. However, the quality of the literature is generally low, and the sample size is small, which makes the validation of the results poor. Further high?quality studies are needed to provide high?level evidence.  相似文献

OBJCTIVE: To compare the clinical efficacy of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) to Western Medicine in the treatment of primary Sj?gren's syndrome(p SS).METHODS: We collected randomized controlled trials of TCM vs Western Medicine for the treatment of p SS in Chinese and foreign databases. The study quality was evaluated as suggested in the Cochrane Handbook. The Meta-analysis was performed using Review Manager 5.0 statistical software.RESULTS: A total of 31 randomized controlled trials with 2137 cases were retrieved. The efficiencies of TCM and control treatments were 87.18% and65.63%, respectively. The results of heterogeneity tests showed that the data were homogeneous(P = 0.83), thus a fixed effects model was used for analysis. The results revealed an odds ratio of 3.74 with a 95% confidence interval of 2.99-4.69. The overall effectiveness value was 11.48(P 0.000 01).These results suggest the efficacy of TCM therapy for p SS better than Western Medicine.CONCLUSION: Although our findings reveal that the TCM treatment of p SS had significant advantages over its counterpart, there were some flaws in the studies included. The findings warrant further investigation.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE:To assess the efficacy of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)on constipation-predominant irritable bowel syndrome by focusing on the liver.METHODS:Databases(domestic and foreign)were searched with the key words"irritable bowelsyndrome","constipation",and"Chinese medicine";the relevant articles were retrieved and evaluated.Cure rate,"remarkable efficacy",recurrence rate and the incidence of adverse reactions were the outcome indicators.Review Manager ver 5.1 was used for this meta-analysis,and funnel plots used to detect publication bias.RESULTS:Nineteen randomized controlled trials were included and 1510 patients involved. The treatment guided byTCM based on the liver was superior to Western Medicine[odds ratio(OR)=2.46,95%confidence interval(CI)1.80,3.35)],cure rate[OR=2.61,95%CI(1.93,3.52)],remarkable efficacy[OR=2.68,95%CI(1.82,3.95)],recurrence rate[OR=0.19,95%CI(0.12,0.29)]and the incidence of adverse reactions[OR=0.24,95%CI(0.09,0.65)].However,funnel plots showed publication bias.CONCLUSION:Compared with Western Medicine, the treatment of IBS-C based on the liver is significantly better but the results must be treated with caution because publication bias was recorded.  相似文献

"Frequent hitter" phenomenon emerged in the high-throughput screening; one of the most common mechanisms behind artifactual inhibition is that some organic molecules formed large colloid-like aggregates which are able to sequester and thereby inhibit enzymes. To investigate the situation in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), 60 medicinal herbs and 24 Chinese herbal formulae were detected by dynamic light scattering (DLS), and aggregates were observed in all the 84 solution mixtures. The aggregates of two Chinese herbal formulae, 'Xue-Fu-Zhu-Yu Tang' (XF) and 'Jing-Guan Tang' (JG), were not only able to survive in the gastro-intestinal environment, but also had the ability to pass through the monolayer of the Caco-2 cell. The activities of XF and JG against three cardiovascular targets were also aggregates-related. Based on these findings, a new possible mechanism of the action of Chinese medicine was proposed.  相似文献

The incidence of neck and lumbar injuries is continuously increasing along with more and more people finishing their work in sitting position. We shall explore the objective principles of spinal injuries with the research on spinal kinemechnics as a cutting through point in order to seek for a reasonable therapeutic modality that can resolve spinal kinemechnic issues without aggravation of injuries, attempting to use traditional medical thinking mode in conjunction with spinal morphologic anatomy with fragmented thinking substituted by integral thinking, mechanic thinking substituted by systematic thinking, dynamic thinking substituted by static thinking.  相似文献

Objective: The objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of traditional Chinese herbal medicine (TCHM) in treatment of perimenopausal depression (PD) in China. Methods: To identify randomized controlled trials, an electronic search has been conducted through databases as follows: PubMed, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Web of Science, Chinese Biological Medicine Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database, Chinese Scientific Journal Database, and WanFang Digital Periodicals Database. Methodological quality was evaluated by Cochrane Collaboration’s tool which is able to assess the risk of bias in Review Manager Software. What’s more, meta?analysis was performed by using Cochrane Collaboration’s RevMan 5.2 software, (Nordic Cochrane Centre, Cochrane Collaboration, Copenhagen, and Denmark). Dichotomous data were analyzed by using relative risk (RR) and 95% confidence interval (CI). Continuous variables were analyzed using weighted mean differences (WMDs) and 95% CI. Subgroup analysis was performed by the type of medicine which was used in the experimental group. Results: This meta?analysis includes 11 randomized control trials with 818 patients. Compared to the control group (RR: 1.14, 95% CI: [1.03, 1.26], P = 0.009 and WMD: ?2.09, 95% CI: [ ?3.58, ?0.18]), the experimental group had a significant higher clinical efficacy rate and relatively lower Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAM?D) score. For clinical efficacy rate, the results varied depending on the detail treatment measures of the experimental group. In the experimental group with TCHM, no significant difference was observed (RR: 1.14, 95% CI: [0.97, 1.33]), while in the experimental group combined with western medicine, a significant difference in the clinical efficacy rate between the experimental group and control group showed up (RR: 1.15, 95% CI: [1.01, 1.32], P = 0.04). For the HAM?D score, subgroup analyses revealed that the pure TCHM therapy was not associated with significant HAM?D score reduction compared to the control group (WMD: ?2.48, 95% CI: [?6.00, 1.03], P = 0.17). However, in the experimental group where western medicine was added to, the HAM?D score decreased statistically compared to the control group (WMD: ?1.88, 95% CI: [?3.58, ?0.18], P = 0.03). There is no serious adverse event in both groups. Conclusions: Combination therapy of TCHM and western medicine is more effective in treating PD in terms of clinical efficacy rate. However, the results should be interpreted with caution due to the mediocre methodological quality of the included trials.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To assess the effect of case-based learning(CBL) in the education of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM).METHODS: The studies concerning TCM courses designed with CBL were included by searching the databases of EBSCO, Pubmed, Science Citation Index, China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Chongqing VIP database. The valid data was extracted in accordance with the included criteria. The quality of the studies was assessed with Gemma Flores-Masteo.RESULTS: A total of 22 articles were retrieved that met the selection criteria: one was of high quality;two were of low quality; the rest were categorized as moderate quality. The majority of the studiesdemonstrated the better effect produced by CBL,while a few studies showed no difference, compared with the didactic format. All included studies confirmed the favorable effect on learners' attitude, skills and ability.CONCLUSION: CBL showed the desirable results in achieving the goal of learning. Compared to didactic approach, it played a more active role in promoting students' competency. Since the quality of the articles on which the study was based was not so high, the findings still need further research to become substantiated  相似文献
