Background

The protein tyrosine phosphatase N22 gene (PTPN22) encodes a lymphoid-specific phosphatase (LYP) which is an important downregulator of T cell activation. A PTPN22 polymorphism, C1858T, was found associated with type 1 diabetes (T1D) in different Caucasian populations. In this study, we aimed at confirming the role of this variant in T1D predisposition in the Spanish population.

Methods

A case-control was performed with 316 Spanish white T1D patients consecutively recruited and 554 healthy controls, all of them from the Madrid area. The PTPN22 C1858T SNP was genotyped in both patients and controls using a TaqMan Assay in a 7900 HT Fast Real-Time PCR System.

Results

We replicated for the first time in a Spanish population the association of the 1858T allele with an increased risk for developing T1D [carriers of allele T vs. CC: OR (95%) = 1.73 (1.17–2.54); p = 0.004]. Furthermore, this allele showed a significant association in female patients with diabetes onset before age 16 years [carriers of allele T vs. CC: OR (95%) = 2.95 (1.45–6.01), female patients vs female controls p = 0.0009]. No other association in specific subgroups stratified for gender, HLA susceptibility or age at onset were observed.

Conclusion

Our results provide evidence that the PTPN22 1858T allele is a T1D susceptibility factor also in the Spanish population and it might play a different role in susceptibility to T1D according to gender in early-onset T1D patients.  相似文献

PTPN22 gene encodes a lymphoid tyrosine phosphatase (LYP), an important negative regulator of T-cell responses. The 1858C>T (Arg620Trp) single nucleotide polymorphism (rs2476601) was found associated with autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Allergic diseases are similar to autoimmune diseases, by an exaggerated immune response to an antigen (allergen in this case) normally not invoking such response in healthy individuals. We investigated whether polymorphism 1858C>T in PTPN22 gene is associated with susceptibility to allergic asthma and RA in a Polish population. PTPN22 was genotyped in 173 patients with RA, in 198 patients with allergic asthma, and in 543 controls using PCR-RFLP. The patients with RA differed from healthy controls in frequencies of PTPN22 1858C>T alleles (P=0.0004; odds ratio (OR), 1.8; 95% CI, 1.33-2.55) and genotypes (P=0.0009). Strong associations of 1858T allele with RA limited to joints (0.21 vs 0.12, P=0.0002; OR, 2.1; 95% CI, 1.44-3.00), with erosive disease (0.20 vs 0.12, P=0.0003; OR, 1.92; 95% CI, 1.34-2.71), with a lack of rheumatoid factor (RF; 0.23 vs 0.12, P=0.0008; OR, 2.29; 95% CI, 1.44-3.63), and weak association with the presence of RF (0.17 vs 0.12, P=0.02; OR, 1.6; 95% CI, 1.10-2.40) in comparison with healthy controls were observed. Very strong association of 1858T allele (P<0.0001; OR, 2.72; 95% CI, 1.9-3.9) and T phenotype (P<0001; OR, 3.2; 95% CI, 2.1-4.9) with antibodies to cyclic citrullinated peptide (CCP) was found. When patients with allergic asthma were typed for PTPN22 1858C>T polymorphism, no difference with control was found. Subdivision of patients into those with mild, moderate, or severe asthma did not reveal any associations. In conclusion, we confirmed associations between several clinical manifestations of RA and PTPN22 1858T allele. However, no association with 1858C>T polymorphism was found for susceptibility to allergic asthma or for severity of the disease.  相似文献

The protein tyrosine phosphatase N22 (PTPN22) gene C1858T polymorphism has been reported to be associated with susceptibility to type 1 diabetes (T1D) in relatively small sample sizes. This study aimed at investigating the pooled association by carrying out a meta‐analysis on the published studies. The Medline, EBSCO, and BIOSIS databases were searched to identify eligible studies published in English before June 2012. The association was assessed by odds ratio (OR) with 95% confidence intervals (CI). The presence of heterogeneity and publication bias was explored by using meta‐regression analysis and Begg's test, respectively. A total of 28 studies were involved in this meta‐analysis. Across all populations, significant associations were found between the PTPN22 C1858T polymorphism and susceptibility to T1D under genotypic (TT vs. CC [OR = 3.656, 95% CI: 3.139–4.257], CT vs. CC [OR = 1.968, 95% CI: 1.683–2.300]), recessive (OR = 3.147, 95% CI: 2.704–3.663), and dominant models (OR = 1.957, 95% CI: 1.817–2.108). In ethnicity‐ and sex‐stratified analyses, similar associations were found among Caucasians and within Caucasian male and female strata. The meta‐analysis results suggest that the PTPN22 C1858T polymorphism was associated with susceptibility to T1D among the Caucasian population, and males who carried the ‐1858T allele were more susceptible to T1D than females.  相似文献

Protein tyrosine phosphatase PTPN22 is involved in the negative regulation of T-cell responsiveness. Recently, the association of a coding variant of the PTPN22 gene-R620W(1858C>T) with a number of autoimmune diseases has been described. Therefore, we tested the association of PTPN22 1858*T allele in Dutch early onset type 1 diabetes (T1D) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients, as well as celiac disease (CD) patients, for which no previous study of PTPN22 has been reported. The PTPN22 variant was strongly associated with T1D in cases vs controls (P=2 x 10(-7), OR=2.3, 95% CI=1.7-3.1) as well as in a transmission disequilibrium test in nuclear trio's (P=9 x 10(-9), OR=3.3, CI=2.1-5.0), RA (case/control: P=0.003, OR=1.8 CI =1.2-2.6), but not CD, in spite of a trend of increased homozygosity (P=0.05) and early age at onset (P=0.01). PTPN22 is not generally associated with T-cell mediated autoimmune diseases, although it might play a role in the CD patients with early clinical manifestation.  相似文献

Recently, protein tyrosine phosphatase nonreceptor 22 (PTPN22) C1858T polymorphism has been identified as a susceptibile gene for type 1 diabetes (T1D), but studies are inconsistence, In order to assess the association between PTPN22C1858T polymorphism and T1D based on different ethnicities, a meta-analysis was performed, including 26 studies, total of 16,240 patients and 17,997 controls. Meta-analysis was performed on T versus C, T/T+T/C versus C/C (dominant model) and T/T versus T/C+C/C (recessive model) in a fixed/random effects model. The results indicated an association between the PTPN22 C1858T polymorphism and T1D in all subjects. The overall odds ratio (OR) of T versus C using the fixed effects model was 1.948 (95% CI = 1.859~2.041, P < 0.001). After stratification by ethnicity, analysis revealed that the PTPN22 C1858T polymorphism T allele was significantly associated with T1D in Europeans, Americans (OR = 1.946, 95% CI = 1.852~2.045, P < 0.001; OR = 1.946, 95% CI = 1.690~2.242, P < 0.001, respectively). Meta-analysis of the T/T+T/C genotype and the T/T genotypes showed the same results as that shown by the PTPN22 C1858T polymorphism T allele. This meta-analysis suggests a possible association between the PTPN22 C1858T polymorphism and T1D, especially in European and American populations.  相似文献

We have recently described the association between rheumatoid arthritis and a coding single-nucleotide polymorphism in the intracellular protein tyrosine phosphatase, PTPN22. The disease-associated polymorphism, 1858 C/T (rs2476601), encodes an amino-acid change (R620W) in one of four SH3 domain binding sites in the PTPN22 molecule. We have now extended our initial studies to address three questions: (1) Is the association with rheumatoid arthritis limited to rheumatoid factor (RF) positive disease? (2) Does homozygosity for PTPN22 R620W substantially increase disease susceptibility? (3) Is there an interaction between PTPN22 and the rheumatoid arthritis (RA)-associated HLA-DRB1 shared epitope alleles? A total of 1413 Caucasian rheumatoid arthritis patients and 1401 Caucasian controls were genotyped. The results support the view that PTPN22 was strongly and preferentially associated with RF positive disease (OR=1.75, 95% CI 1.46-2.10, P=1.3 x 10(-9)). The PTPN22 risk allele was not significantly associated with RF negative disease (OR=1.19, 95% CI 0.92-1.53, P=0.18), although a very weak association cannot be completely excluded. There was a strong dose effect on disease risk; two copies of the PTPN22 R620W allele more than doubles the risk for RF positive RA (OR=4.57, 95% CI 2.35-8.89). There was no evidence of a genetic association between PTPN22 and HLA susceptibility alleles.  相似文献

The 1858T variant of the protein tyrosine phosphatase gene, PTPN22, is associated with an increased risk of several autoimmune diseases. The aim of this study has been to investigate the possible association of 1858C-->T PTPN22 polymorphism and type 1 diabetes (T1D) in Caucasians from Ukraine. Overall, the distribution of 1858 PTPN22 genotypes differed significantly between the T1D patient group (n = 296) and the control group (n = 242) (P = 0.0036). When both groups were classified according to sex, the TT genotype and T allele showed a statistically significant higher frequency in T1D female patients (5.9 and 22.8%, respectively) in comparison with the female controls (0 and 11.9%) (P = 0.008 for both analyses). The patients with the TT genotype were significantly younger at the onset of T1D compared with those with genotypes TC and CC (P = 0.035 and 0.019, respectively). In our Ukrainian Caucasian cohort, we confirmed the association between T1D and the PTPN22,1858T allele.  相似文献

The protein tyrosine phosphatase, nonreceptor 22 gene (PTPN22) maps to human chromosome 1p13.3-p13.1 and encodes an important negative regulator of T-cell activation, lymphoid-specific phosphatase (Lyp). Recently, the minor allele of a single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) at nucleotide position 1858 (rs2476601, +1858C > T) was found to be associated with type 1 diabetes. However, the degree of the association is variable among ethnic populations, suggesting the presence of other disease-associated variants in PTPN22. To examine this possibility, we carried out a systemic search for PTPN22 using direct sequencing of PCR-amplified products in the Japanese population. Association and linkage studies were also conducted in 1,690 Japanese samples, 180 Korean samples, and 472 Caucasian samples from 95 nuclear families. We identified five novel SNPs, but not the +1858C > T SNP. Of these two frequent SNPs, -1123G > C, and +2740C > T were in strong linkage disequilibrium (LD), and the -1123G > C promoter SNP was associated with acute-onset but not slow-onset type 1 diabetes in the Japanese population (odds ratio [OR] = 1.42, 95% CI = 1.07-1.89, P = 0.015). This association was observed also in Korean patients with type 1 diabetes (Mantel-Haenszel chi2= 6.543, P = 0.0105, combined OR = 1.41 95% CI = 1.09-1.82). Furthermore, the affected family-based control (AFBAC) association test and the transmission disequilibrium analysis of multiplex families of European descent from the British Diabetes Association (BDA) Warren Repository indicated that the association was stronger in -1123G > C compared to +1858C > T. In conclusion, the type 1 diabetes association with PTPN22 is confirmed, but it cannot be attributed solely to the +1858C > T variant. The promoter -1123G > C SNP is a more likely causative variant in PTPN22.  相似文献

Several studies have identified a functional single nucleotide polymorphism 1858C/T in the PTPN22 gene to be associated with several autoimmune diseases. Association studies of this polymorphism with familial and sporadic systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) have shown some discrepancies. To our knowledge, this is the first study that includes only pediatric-onset SLE patients. We performed a case-control association study in 250 unrelated Mexican patients with childhood-onset SLE consisting of 228 cases with sporadic SLE and 22 cases with familial SLE and 355 healthy controls. We observed a statistically significant difference in the frequency of the PTPN22 1858T allele between SLE patients (3.4%) and healthy controls (1.1%) (P=0.0062, odds ratio (OR) 3.09 (95% confidence interval 1.32-7.21)). The association was also observed when only sporadic cases were analyzed (OR=3.19). Our results support the association of the PTPN22 1858T allele with sporadic childhood-onset SLE in Mexican population.  相似文献

Mycobacterium tuberculosis , the causal agent of pulmonary tuberculosis (TB), remains a major health problem throughout the world causing high mortality in humans. Previous studies showed that several genes may play crucial roles in susceptibility to TB. The PTPN22 gene encodes the lymphoid tyrosine phosphatase that has an important regulatory effect on T- and B-cell activation in immune response. The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of two functional missense single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of the PTPN22 gene region (R620W and R263Q) in the susceptibility to TB in the Moroccan population. A case–control association study was performed including 123 pulmonary TB patients and 155 healthy controls. All subjects were genotyped by TaqMan SNP genotyping assays. Regarding the PTPN22 R620W (C1858T) SNP, we observed a statistically significant difference in the distribution of the PTPN22 1885T allele between pulmonary TB patients and healthy controls (0.41% vs 3.2%, P  = 0.01, odds ratio (OR) = 0.14, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 0.01–0.93). With respect to the PTPN22 R263Q (G788A), we observed an increase of 788A allele frequencies in TB patients compared with those in healthy controls (3.65% vs 0.65%, P  = 0.01, OR = 5.85, 95% CI = 1.17–39.55). These results suggest that PTPN22 gene variants may affect susceptibility to TB in the Moroccan population.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to assess the possible association between the protein tyrosine phosphatase non-receptor 22 (PTPN22) gene 1858C-->T (rs2476601, encoding R620W) polymorphism and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Our study population consisted of 1113 IBD [544 ulcerative colitis (UC) and 569 Crohn's disease (CD)] patients and 812 healthy subjects. All the individuals were of Spanish white origin. Genotyping of the PTPN22 gene 1858C-->T polymorphism was performed by real time polymerase chain reaction technology, using TaqMan 5'-allelic discrimination assay. The frequency of the PTPN22 1858T allele in healthy subjects was 6.2% compared with 6.7% in the UC patients and 5.1% in Crohn's patients. No statistically significant differences were observed when the PTPN22 1858C-->T allele and genotype distribution among CD patients, UC patients and healthy controls were compared. These results indicate that the PTPN22 1858C-->T polymorphism does not appear to play a major role in IBD predisposition in our population.  相似文献

Alopecia areata is an acquired hair loss disorder resulting from an immunologically- mediated attack on hair follicles and autoimmunity may play a part in its pathogenesis. The non-synonymous C1858T substitution in the PTPN22 gene, which encodes lymphoid protein tyrosine phosphatase, has been shown to be associated with susceptibility to autoimmune disorders. In this study, the objective was to ascertain whether or not the disease-associated 1858T (W620) allele was associated with alopecia areata. For this, the allelic distribution of the PTPN22 C1858T alleles was determined in 196 English patients with alopecia areata and 507 healthy subjects in a case control study using a restriction fragment length polymorphism-polymerase chain reaction (PCR-RFLP) genotyping method. The results indicated that the frequency of the 1858T allele did not differ significantly between the alopecia areata patient group and the control cohort: of 392 alopecia areata alleles, 41 (10.5%) encoded the W620 variant compared to 86 of 1014 (8.5%) control alleles. However, in patients with severe disease, 25/168 (14.9%) alleles were 1858T and this frequency differed from that in the control group (P = 0.0127; OR, 95% CI = 1.89, 1.17 - 3.05). These results suggest that the non-synonymous C1858T substitution in the PTPN22 gene may have an influence on the severity of alopecia areata and provide further evidence for autoimmunity as an aetiological factor in this disorder.  相似文献

The PTPN22 1858C/T polymorphism is associated with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). However, reports from the Asian populations are conflicting in nature and lacks consensus. The aim of our study was to evaluate the association between the PTPN22 1858C/T polymorphism and RA in Asian and Caucasian subjects by carrying out a meta-analysis of Asian and Caucasian data. A total of 27?205 RA cases and 27?677 controls were considered in the present meta-analysis involving eight Asian and 35 Caucasian studies. The pooled odds ratios (ORs) were performed for the allele, dominant, and recessive genetic model. No statistically significant association was found between the PTPN22 1858C/T polymorphism and risk of RA in Asian population (allele genetic model: OR?=?1.217, 95% confidence interval (CI)?=?0.99–1.496, p value 0.061; dominant genetic model: OR?=?1.238, 95% CI?=?0.982–1.562, p value 0.071; recessive genetic model: OR?=?1.964, 95% CI?=?0.678–5.693, p value 0.213). A significant association with risk of RA in Caucasian population suggesting that T–– allele does confer susceptibility to RA in this subgroup was observed (allele genetic model: OR?=?1.638, 95% CI?=?1.574–1.705, p value p value p value PTPN22 1858C/T polymorphism is not associated with RA risk in Asian populations. However, our meta-analysis confirms that the PTPN22 1858C/T polymorphism is associated with RA susceptibility in Caucasians.  相似文献

Individuals with Turner syndrome (TS) clearly have an increased risk for autoimmune diseases. Recently, an allelic variation (C1858T) of the PTPN22 gene was revealed to be associated with the development of autoimmunity. Thus, the aim of this study was to determine the frequency of the PTPN22 C1858T polymorphism in women with Turner syndrome (TS) compared to controls. Case–control study comprises 142 women with TS (cases) and 180 healthy and fertile women without a history of autoimmune disease (controls). Detection of the PTPN22 C1858T polymorphism (rs2476601) was performed by TaqMan real‐time PCR. The chi‐square test was used to compare allele and genotype frequencies between groups and to estimate the Hardy–Weinberg equilibrium. All P‐values were two‐tailed, and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated. A P‐value <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Genotypes CC, CT and TT of the PTPN22 C1858T polymorphism presented frequencies of, respectively, 67.6%, 28.2% and 4.2% in the TS, and 82.8%, 16.1% and 1.1% in the control group (P = 0.0043). Alleles C and T were present in, respectively, 81.7% and 18.3% of the patients with TS (P = 0.001, OR = 2.22, 95% CI = 1.39‐3.54) and in 90.8% and 9.2%, respectively, of the controls. The data suggest that in Brazilian patients with TS, the PTPN22 C1858T polymorphism may be an important genetic factor predisposing to autoimmune disease risk.  相似文献

目的:检测PTPN22基因的单核苷酸多态性(SNP)及其与中国人自身免疫甲状腺病(AITD)的相关性, 并研究CTLA- 4基因SNP与PTPN22 SNP的相互关系.方法:采用PCR-RFLP技术分析231例AITD患者, 其中Graves'病(GD)149例, 桥本甲状腺炎(HT)82例和131例健康对照者PTPN22基因 1858 C>T及CTLA- 4基因49A>G位点的基因型.采用SASP-PCR技术分析PTPN22基因启动子-1123G>C的基因型.结果:(1)PTPN22基因的 1858C>T位点不存在多态性;(2)PTPN22基因-1123G>C SNP的等位基因和基因型分布频率在GD组与正常对照组间的差异有统计学意义(P值分别为0.040和0.013, OR值分别为1.44和2.33);(3) CTLA- 4基因 49A>G位点的等位基因和基因型分布频率在AITD组与正常组间有明显差异;(4)与携带PTPN22的G等位基因及CTLA- 4的AA基因型者相比, 携带PTPN22CC基因型与CTLA- 4 AG或GG基因型者发生GD的OR值=3.31(95%CI: 2.69-8.89).结论:PTPN22基因启动子-1123G>C SNP与GD的发生相关, 其CC基因型与CTLA- 4基因的G 等位基因对GD的发生起协同作用.  相似文献

Recent findings have demonstrated that the single nucleotide polymorphism 1858C-->T located at the P1 motif of the PTPN22 (protein tyrosine phosphatase nonreceptor 22) gene has functional relevance and is associated with a variety of autoimmune diseases. The aim of this study was to assess the role of the PTPN22 1858C-->T polymorphism in the genetic predisposition to celiac disease (CD). We analyzed a case-control cohort composed by 534 patients with CD and 653 healthy controls and additionally a panel of 271 celiac families. The PTPN22 1858C-->T genotyping was performed by TaqMan 5' allelic discrimination assay. We did not observed any statistically significant deviation after comparing allele and genotypic frequencies of PTPN22 1858C-->T between patients with CD and controls. Accordingly, the familial analysis did not reach statistically significant deviation in the transmission of PTPN22 1858C-->T alleles to the affected offspring. Therefore, our data suggest that the PTPN22 1858 single nucleotide polymorphism has no, or only a negligible, effect on CD susceptibility in this Spanish population.  相似文献

To date, many studies conducted in the Chinese population have determined the correlation between the tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α)-238G/A, -308G/A, -857C/T and -863C/A polymorphisms and persistent hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. However, their results remain inconclusive. With the aim of confirming this correlation, we performed a meta-analysis of 19 studies. The dichotomous data are presented as the OR with a 95% CI. The results of our study indicate that carriers of the TNF-a-857T allele among the pooled Chinese population were more likely to show spontaneous clearance of HBV (T vs C: OR = 0.824, 95% CI = 0.713–0.953, p 0.009; TT vs CC: OR = 0.701, 95% CI = 0.507–0.970, p 0.032; TC vs CC: OR = 0.804, 95% CI = 0.683–0.947, p 0.009; TT + TC vs CC: OR = 0.835, 95% CI = 0.716–0.974, p 0.021). The TNF-a-308A allele was associated with significantly reduced persistent HBV infection risk in the Chinese (A vs G: OR = 0.585, 95% CI = 0.456–0.751, p 0.002; AG vs GG: OR = 0.519, 95% CI = 0.341–0.789, p <0.000; AA + AG vs GG: OR = 0.512, 95% CI = 0.339–0.772, p 0.001). Persistent HBV infection susceptibility is associated with the TNF-α-308G/A gene polymorphism in the Chinese population, whereas HBV clearance is associated with the TNF-α-857C/T gene polymorphism.  相似文献

Recently, a gain of function variant C1858T of the lymphoid-specific protein tyrosine phosphatase non-receptor (LYP, PTPN22) gene has been reported to be associated with several autoimmune disorders including Graves' disease, type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and vitiligo. The present study was carried out in 80 patients with sporadic idiopathic hypoparathyroidism (SIH) [43 males and 37 females, mean +/- SD age and duration of symptoms 32.5 +/- 14.1 years and 6.7 +/- 7.2 years (range 1 day to 35 years), respectively] and 193 healthy controls (male : female ratio 91:102, mean +/- SD age, 43.1 +/- 11.6 years) to assess association of 1858T allele with the disease. Polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis was performed to genotype C1858T variant. The frequency of occurrence of 1858T allele was 4/160 (2.5%) in SIH and 5/386 (1.3%) in the control alleles (odds ratio 1.95, 95% CI 0.51-7.37). Thus, the present study reveals that 1858T allele is rare (1.3%) in Asian Indians. The trend of higher prevalence of 1858T allele in patients with SIH needs to be studied further in other population with higher rate of the allele to support the autoimmune basis of the disease.  相似文献

The aim of the present study was to replicate the previously reported association of KLF12 gene polymorphisms with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Two independent cohorts from Spain (1,360 RA patients and 1,520 controls) and the Netherlands (1,018 RA patients and 1,150 controls) were genotyped for KLF12 rs1887346 and rs9565072 single-nucleotide polymorphisms using a TaqMan 5'-allele discrimination assay. No evidence of association of RA with the minor T allele of rs9565072 (31.82% vs 33.73%; p = 0.14, odds ratios [OR] 0.92 [95% confidence interval (CI) 0.82-1.03]) or the minor A allele of rs1887346 polymorphism (21.60% vs 21.77%; p = 0.88, OR 0.99 [95% CI 0.87-1.13]) was observed in Spanish patients compared with healthy controls. This lack of association was also confirmed in the Dutch cohort: the minor T allele frequency of rs9565072 in Dutch RA patients was 35.34% versus 35.57% in controls; p = 0.87, OR 0.99 (95% CI 0.87-1.12); and the minor A allele frequency of rs1887346 in Dutch RA patients was 27.64% versus 28.17% in controls; p = 0.70, OR 0.97 (95% CI 0.85-1.12). A meta-analysis of published KLF12 gene association with RA revealed a pooled OR of 0.99 (95% CI 0.93-1.04) for rs1887346 and a pooled OR of 0.99 (95% CI 0.95-1.04) for rs9565072. The missense PTPN22 C1858T polymorphism recently emerged as an important population-independent risk factor for type 1 diabetes (T1D) and other autoimmune diseases. The PTPN22 gene encodes the lymphoid tyrosine phosphatase (LYP), a negative regulator of signal transduction through the T-cell receptor. Although the frequency of the polymorphism is variable among different ethnic groups, the association between PTPN22 *T1858 and T1D has been replicated in several populations. Here, we contribute the first replication of the association between PTPN22 and T1D in populations from continental Italy, carried out in two independent samples of T1D patients ( N  = 216 and 82) and controls ( N  = 271 and 89). Our data also suggest that T1D carriers of the *T1858 allele could be at increased risk for other comorbid autoimmune disorders.  相似文献
