The authors modified a standard digital camera by replacing an internal infrared-blocking filter that allowed photography of iris transillumination defects. Visible and infrared light was produced with a halogen fiberoptic light source that was placed against the inferior eyelid and directed perpendicular to the globe. To obtain images, the camera was mounted to a tabletop tripod placed 3 to 5 in from a chin/headrest apparatus. Images were downloaded onto a personal computer via software and accessories provided by the camera manufacturer. This technique, which is convenient and produces high quality, color images, can highlight details of the normal and pathologic iris. It may have significant utility in clinical research as well as routine clinical care.  相似文献

目的利用超声生物显微镜(UBM)检测白内障患者原发性虹膜睫状体囊肿的发生情况。方法用UBM对275例(476只眼),无外伤、手术史的白内障患者进行眼前段检查。结果275例(476只眼)中,发现原发性虹膜睫状体囊肿20例(26只眼),检出眼占被检眼数的5.46%。其中单发性囊肿13例(16只眼)占61.54%,多发性囊肿7例(10只眼)占38.46%。虹膜睫状体囊肿大小不一,最大的囊肿矢状面面积为1.59mm2,最小的囊肿为0.08mm2,平均面积为0.39mm2(以上均为最大矢状面面积)。26只眼共检出囊肿38个,其中位于颞侧17个,占44.76%;下方15个,占39.47%;鼻侧4个,占10.53%;上方2个,占5.28%。结论UBM能客观地检测出原发性虹膜睫状体囊肿,提供囊肿的大小、位置及数量信息。白内障患者原发性虹膜睫状体囊肿发生率约为5.46%。囊肿好发于颞侧及下方。  相似文献

PURPOSE: To report the use of argon laser peripheral iridoplasty in the treatment of plateau-like iris configuration as a result of iris and ciliary body cysts. DESIGN: Case report. METHODS: A 43-year-old male with plateau iris syndrome was demonstrated by high frequency ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM), to have numerous iris and ciliary body cysts. Bilateral argon laser peripheral iridoplasty was performed. RESULTS: Argon laser iridoplasty opened the drainage angle in both eyes. CONCLUSION: Argon laser iridoplasty is an effective and safe treatment for plateau iris syndrome and may also prove valuable in the treatment of plateau-like iris configuration resulting from iridociliary cysts.  相似文献

PURPOSE: To report the occurrence of a giant iridociliary sarcoid tumor. METHODS: The patient was evaluated by medical history, ophthalmoscopic examination (including photography and ultrasonography) as well as systemic, hematologic, and radiographic examinations. Tumor biopsies allowed for cytopathologic, histopathologic, and immunohistochemical analysis. RESULTS: The 39-year-old black male was found to have a right iris and ciliary body tumor. Ultrasonography revealed a 10 x 12-mm base, 5.6-mm height, low internal reflectivity, and vitreous debris. Radiographic imaging revealed mediastinal and bilateral hilar lymphadenopathy. A purified protein derivative (PPD) and a hematologic survey were negative. Pathology evaluations of the surgical specimens revealed features of non-caseating granulomata consistent with sarcoidosis. A combination of topical and systemic steroid therapy was locally curative. CONCLUSIONS: We describe a giant iridociliary sarcoid tumor in a patient with no lacrimal gland enlargement, conjunctival nodules, or skin lesions. A biopsy was required to establish the diagnosis.  相似文献

The authors evaluated the limitation of iridocyclectomy in primate eyes. Six-clock-hour resections were tolerated and the intraocular pressure was reestablished to preoperative levels (17 mm Hg) within 1 month after surgery. Seven- to eight-clock-hour resections were also tolerated by the eyes, but the intraocular pressure remained low (7-10 mm Hg) for the extent of the study (5 months). Eyes in which the vitreous fluid was replaced with Healon showed a trend toward faster recovery of the intraocular pressure than those having a physiologic saline solution.  相似文献

Summary Recent studies have indicated that sensory terminals can be recognized by the presence of an accumulation of mitochondria. By inducing changes in uveal ophthalmic nerve fibers it was shown that an accumulation of mitochondria also occurs in autonomic terminals. Although an aggregation of mitochondria may occur in sensory terminals, it is not a feature unique to them. The ophthalmic fibers in the iris and the ciliary body appeared to terminate as free nerve endings without characteristics peculiar to them.  相似文献
