Angiolymphoid hyperplasia with eosinophilia (AHE) is a distinct clinical and pathologic entity that demonstrates proliferation of endothelial cells associated with varying degrees of lymphocytic, histiocytic, and eosinophilic infiltration. Lymphoid hyperplasia with germinal centers often is present in older lesions and the patients may have an associated blood eosinophilia. Multiple deep nodules developed in a young man on the palmar aspect of the left hand, and subsequently the forehead, histologically diagnostic of AHE. Direct immunofluorescence of the tumor removed from the forehead demonstrated granular deposits of IgA, IgM, and C3 associated with small vessels. Cryoglobulins (IgA, IgM, and IgG) were found in the patient's serum. This new information lends support to the hypothesis that AHE is an inflammatory reactive lesion, possibly secondary to an immunologic injury, rather than a true vascular neoplasm with an associated inflammatory reaction.  相似文献

A relationship between Kimura disease (KD) and angiolymphoid hyperplasia with eosinophilia (ALHE) has been debated. Given substantial clinical and histological overlap, these entities were once considered to represent a disease spectrum; however, they are now widely considered to be nosologically distinct. A diagnosis of either condition is further complicated by resemblance to various malignancies, which must be carefully excluded. Coexistence of ALHE and KD in a patient is extremely rare, with only four cases reported in the English literature. We report what is to our knowledge the first case of ALHE and KD overlap with evidence of diffuse visceral involvement.  相似文献

Angiolymphoid hyperplasia with eosinophilia   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Angiolymphoid hyperplasia with eosinophilia is manifested by benign vascular tumors that usually occur about the head in young adults. Clinical and histologic variation of this process has resulted in nosologic confusion, and the cases in the English literature were reviewed to characterize it within racial groups. Oriental patients tend to be younger at onset, usually male, and have marked blood eosinophilia; large, but relatively asymptomatic, tumors develop in these patients. White patients tend to be older at onset and have small, friable tumors. Large tumors that are painful or pruritic tend to develop in blacks and Middle Eastern patients.  相似文献

We report a 40-year-old patient, who presented with a nodular tumor at the scalp. The histological diagnosis was angiolymphoid hyperplasia with eosinophils (ALHE). Immunohistochemical staining of the proliferating vessels was characteristic for endothelial cells. The perivascular inflammatory infiltrate mainly consisted of CD4-positive lymphocytes. Recently it has become clear that Kimura disease, which was thought to be a variant of ALHE, can be distinguished from ALHE by clinical, histological and immunohistochemical criteria and constitutes its own clinical identity. While ALHE is a localized proliferation of endothelial cells, Kimura disease is a proliferation of lymphoid cells characterized by invasive growth and possibly lymphadenopathy.  相似文献

Angiolymphoid hyperplasia means an angiomatous tumor associated with a lymphoid and eosinophilic infiltrate. The bizarre shape of the blood vessels and atypias of the endothelial cells remind one of angiosarcoma, however, the clinical course is benign.  相似文献

A 35-year old woman presented with asymptomatic dermal nodules over the scalp of 10- years duration. Histopathological study revealed proliferation of thick walled blood vessels lined by plump endothelium and lymphocyte and eosinophilic infiltrate with blood eosinophilia.  相似文献

Angiolymphoid hyperplasia with eosinophilia (ALHE) is a rare benign condition affecting principally the head and neck region of young females. We describe a 42-year-old female patient of ALHE showing the typical changes of endothelial cells and features similar to Kimura's disease in histologic and immunohistochemical findings.  相似文献

A patient with angiolymphoid hyperplasia with eosinophilia is described. This is, to our knowledge, the first case report in which the lesions were located on the vulva.  相似文献

A 45-year-old woman from Afghanistan presented with a 1-year history of multiple itching and stinging lesions on both right and left auricular and periauricular areas. Skin examination revealed about eight superficial erythematous nodules, ranging from 0.2 to 1.2 cm in diameter, on both ears, as well as on the preauricular and retroauricular areas ( Fig. 1 ).
