Patients with dementia of Alzheimer's type (DAT) show severe impairment in recognizing famous people. The aim of the current study was to investigate if this well-known memory impairment of famous faces is already present in the preclinical phase of DAT and if the famous faces test can help to differentiate patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) who progress to dementia and those who do not. We compared baseline performance in a task of famous face identification in a sample of 116 patients with subjective memory complaints classified in three groups: 17 participants with no evidence of cognitive impairment; 26 patients with MCI who had not developed dementia, and 27 patients with MCI who had developed probable DAT 2 years later. The remaining patients were excluded because they abandoned or did not meet the applied restrictive criteria for DAT, MCI or control. MCI patients who were diagnosed 2 years later with DAT performed significantly worse in the preclinical phase than MCI and control participants (p < 0.004). Patients with MCI but not DAT obtained intermediate results between control subjects and MCI patients who develop Alzheimer's disease. A neuropsychological task of semantic knowledge of famous people may be useful in the early diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease.  相似文献

目的探讨老年轻度认知障碍患者的记忆损害特点,比较不同神经心理学测验对诊断和发现轻度认知障碍的敏感性,筛选临床实用的简捷敏感的神经心理学测验工具。方法轻度认知障碍患者20例,轻度阿尔茨海默病患者26例,健康老年人30名。应用词语回忆测验、图片回忆测验、数字广度测验、本顿视觉保持测验C式A法及D式D法进行测试。结果轻度认知障碍组在图片回忆分、视觉保持测验D式D法正确分及持续错误分上的成绩较正常对照组差(P<0.05);轻度认知障碍组视觉保持测验D法成绩明显差于A法(P<0.01)。结论轻度认知障碍患者对具体视觉形象的记忆能力及对无意义图形的视觉记忆能力受损,存在即刻记忆和延迟记忆障碍,且延迟回忆较即刻回忆损害明显,短时记忆更新的可塑性差;图片回忆测试、本顿视觉保持测验的延迟回忆测试或与即刻回忆联合测试有助于轻度认知障碍的早期发现。  相似文献

We investigated the sensitivity of the P300 event-related brain potential (ERP) recorded during a memory-demanding task to memory function in subjects with dementia of the Alzheimer's type (DAT), those with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and normal elderly controls. We also explored the ability of neuropsychological (delayed verbal memory), neuroanatomical (MRI-based hippocampal volume), and electrophysiological (memory search P300 amplitude) memory measures to distinguish between the three subject groups using discriminant function analyses. Fourteen patients with DAT, 16 with MCI, and 15 age- and education-matched controls were tested. P300 amplitude was reduced in DAT subjects at all levels of memory load; however, it did not differ between MCI and control subjects. Delayed verbal memory performance best discriminated DAT from MCI and control subjects, while delayed verbal memory and hippocampal volume best discriminated MCI subjects from controls. These results support the utility of neuropsychological and neuroanatomical measures in diagnosing dementia and do not support the notion that P300 amplitude is sensitive to mild memory dysfunction when measured using the current task.  相似文献

A study was carried out to investigate accelerated forgetting of new verbal and visual material in participants complaining of memory loss, individuals with Mild Cognitive Impairment(MCI) and controls. All groups were evaluated with a standard neuropsychological battery and two tests of delayed recall 6 weeks apart for the experimental tasks.Individuals with memory complaints,but not MCI, performed normally compared to controls on immediate and 30 minute recall,but showed a striking impairment in verbal and visual memory after 6 weeks. Accelerated forgetting may go undetected on standard neuropsychological evaluation in some patients complaining of memory problems.  相似文献

Background: Previous research has described the executive dysfunction that occurs in patients with amnestic‐mild cognitive impairments (A‐MCI) and early‐stage Alzheimer's disease (EAD), which are comparatively similar stages of dementia. The aim of the present cross‐sectional study is to evaluate executive dysfunction using the Frontal Assessment Battery (FAB) screening test in two groups and to investigate the interaction with other cognitive impairments. Methods: Among 170 consecutive patients with Alzheimer's disease or A‐MCI, we recruited 48 subjects who were under 75 years of age and had been diagnosed as having either A‐MCI or EAD. We then compared the total and the subtest scores of the mini‐mental state examination (MMSE) and the FAB between the two groups. Moreover, we investigated the statistical interactive associations of the FAB subtest scores with the influential MMSE subtest scores or the diagnosis (A‐MCI or EAD). Results: No significant differences in the age, sex ratio, duration of illness, and education years were observed between the two groups. However, significant differences in the FAB total and subtest scores (conflicting instructions and go/no‐go) were found between the two groups. Furthermore, significant differences in the MMSE total and subtest scores (orientation, memory delayed recall, and attention and calculation) were also noted between the two groups. In a generalized linear model analysis, only two FAB subtest scores (conflicting instructions and go/no‐go) were significantly influenced by the diagnosis (A‐MCI or EAD) in a manner that was independent of the interaction with the orientation or memory delayed recall. Conclusion: The present findings suggest that the FAB total score and subtest scores reflecting interference performances (conflicting instructions and go/no‐go) significantly declined in patients with EAD, independent of the disorientation and memory disorder. Such characteristics of neuropsychological screening test scores may be useful to clinicians for differentiating EAD and A‐MCI at bedside.  相似文献

Recent research has identified a transitional state between the cognitive changes of normal aging and Alzheimer's disease (AD), known as mild cognitive impairment (MCI). MCI patients experience memory loss to a greater extent than one would expect for age, yet they do not meet currently accepted criteria for clinically probable AD. An issue currently under investigation is whether MCI represents the preclinical stages of AD or a distinct and static cognitive aetiology. In an attempt to address this issue, the present investigations are adopting a convergent approach to the detection of preclinical AD, where multiple risk factors are considered when making a diagnosis. Currently, one of the most important tools when assessing early cognitive changes is neuropsychological evaluation. MCI subjects typically record neuropsychological performance between that of healthy older individuals and demented patients. Tests assessing new learning, delayed recall and attention/executive function seem to provide valuable information for screening and diagnosis of MCI and early AD if interpreted properly. Recommendations concerning methodological issues and the early management of neuropsychological MCI studies were made.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: The Informant Questionnaire on Cognitive Decline in the Elderly (IQCODE) requires caregivers to rate decline in patients' cognitive and functional performance and has never been used for mild cognitive impairment (MCI). METHODS: We contrasted the discriminative and predictive power of the IQCODE with that of the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) and a verbal episodic memory measure, the Rey's Auditory Verbal Learning Test (RAVLT), in 45 patients with MCI (mean (SD) age at baseline: 71.6 (4.7) years) and 30 outpatients with dementia (70.5 (6.3) years) attending the Neuropsychology Service, St Gerardo Hospital, and compared them with 55 cognitively intact elderly people (70.7 (7.1) years). Patients with MCI were followed up for at least 2 years or until conversion to dementia. RESULTS: In total, 24 patients with MCI (53.3%) had converted to dementia at follow up (mean (SD) duration of follow up 17.0 (7.3) months for converters and 35.0 (7.1) months for non-converters). At baseline, the ability to differentiate patients with MCI from healthy controls was similar for the IQCODE (area under the curve (AUC) 0.86) and the MMSE (AUC 0.84; z = 0.53, not significant). As predictors of conversion to dementia, a trend favouring the IQCODE (AUC 0.86) with respect to immediate (AUC 0.74) and delayed (AUC 0.75) recall on the RAVLT was apparent (z = 1.36, p = 0.087 versus immediate recall, z = 1.51, p = 0.064 versus delayed recall). The independent predictive ability of IQCODE and memory scores was evaluated through logistic regression, and the questionnaire alone yielded the best correct classification of 81%. CONCLUSIONS: The IQCODE is an informant based measure of cognitive decline that may provide a relevant contribution to the diagnostic and prognostic investigation of patients with MCI.  相似文献

We analyzed the association of neuropsychological test impairment at baseline with the development of dementia in idiopathic Parkinson's disease (PD) patients. A cohort of nondemented PD patients from northern Manhattan, NY was followed annually with neurological and neuropsychological evaluations. The neuropsychological battery included tests of verbal and nonverbal memory, orientation, visuospatial ability, language, and abstract reasoning. The association of baseline neuropsychological tests scores with incident dementia was analyzed using Cox proportional hazards models. The analysis controlled for age, gender, education, duration of PD, and the total Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale motor score at baseline. Forty-five out of 164 patients (27%) became demented during a mean follow-up of 3.7 +/- 2.3 years. Four neuropsychological test scores were significantly associated with incident dementia in the Cox model: total immediate recall (RR: 0.92, 95% CI: 0.87-0.97, P = 0.001) and delayed recall (RR: 0.73, 95% CI: 0.59-0.91, P = 0.005) of the Selective Reminding Test (SRT), letter fluency (RR: 0.87, 95% CI: 0.77-0.99, P = 0.03), and Identities and Oddities of the Mattis Dementia Rating Scale (RR: 0.85, 95% CI: 0.73-0.98, P = 0.03). When the analysis was performed excluding patients with a clinical dementia rating of 0.5 (questionable dementia) at baseline evaluation, total immediate recall and delayed recall were still predictive of dementia in PD. Our results indicate that impairment in verbal memory and executive function are associated with the development of dementia in patients with PD.  相似文献

OBJECTIVES: Impairment of long-term recall may worsen everyday functioning of patients with epilepsy even if the standard short-term or delayed recall tests do not show significant abnormalities. We evaluated prospectively the decay of memory between delayed and long-term recall in patients with temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) and controls with the aim of identifying the determinants of long-term memory impairment. METHODS: Seventy patients with TLE and 59 controls underwent neuropsychological assessment of verbal and nonverbal memory, attention, and executive functions at visit 1. Long-term verbal and nonverbal memory was tested with the same word list, verbal logical story, and Rey-Osterrieth complex figure test 4 weeks later at visit 2. The decay in memory was estimated as information recalled at visit 2 as a percentage of the delayed recall at visit 1. RESULTS: Frequent seizures (> or = 4 per month) during the study period were related to poor long-term recall, even for those patients who did relatively well on delayed recall tests. On all long-term memory tests, patients with complex partial and/or secondary generalized seizures did significantly worse than patients with simple partial seizures. The presence of interictal generalized or focal temporal epileptiform activity was associated with more accelerated forgetting of the word list and complex figure. Multiple regression analysis confirmed that number of complex partial seizures, age of patient, and abnormal interictal EEG are significant predictors of accelerated forgetting. CONCLUSIONS: Uncontrolled seizures, especially with ictal impairment of consciousness, can be a significant factor in the accelerated decay of memory, although subclinical interictal epileptiform EEG activity may also be relevant.  相似文献

Background:

Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is a transitional stage between normal aging and dementia. Persons with MCI are at higher risk to develop dementia. Identifying MCI from normal aging has become a priority area of research. Neuropsychological assessment could help to identify these high risk individuals.

Objective:

To examine clinical utility and diagnostic accuracy of neuropsychological measures in identifying MCI.

Materials and Methods:

This is a cross-sectional study of 42 participants (22 patients with MCI and 20 normal controls [NC]) between the age of 60 and 80 years. All participants were screened for dementia and later a detailed neuropsychological assessment was carried out.

Results:

Persons with MCI performed significantly poorer than NC on word list (immediate and delayed recall), story recall test, stick construction delayed recall, fluency and Go/No-Go test. Measures of episodic memory especially word list delayed recall had the highest discriminating power compared with measures of semantic memory and executive functioning.

Conclusion:

Word list learning with delayed recall component is a possible candidate for detecting MCI from normal aging.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Different rates and cognitive predictors of conversion to dementia have been reported in subjects with different kinds of mild cognitive impairment (MCI). METHODS: A prospective, 24-month follow-up study, involving 269 subjects who strictly fulfilled criteria for the amnestic MCI. RESULTS: Conversion rate to dementia was 21.4% per year. Seventy-nine out of the 83 individuals who developed dementia were affected by probable Alzheimer's disease (AD). Among others, at the 24-month follow-up 24.1% were still affected by amnestic MCI, 13.3% had changed their neuropsychological profile of impairment and 17.2% were cognitively normalised. Compared to subjects who did not convert to AD, those who did convert showed poorer immediate and delayed recall and recognition of verbal and visual material at baseline as well as reduced executive abilities. A combination of age, Clinical Dementia Rating boxes and scores on delayed recall and recognition of verbal and visual material accurately identified 86% of the subjects who developed AD. CONCLUSIONS: Elderly subjects affected by an isolated memory disorder have a high probability of developing AD. The ability of verbal and visual measures to predict incipient dementia of memory impairment may be increased by the simultaneous assessment of individual features, such as age or rate of functional impairment.  相似文献

Abstract Free delayed recall is considered the memory measure with the greatest sensitivity for the early diagnosis of dementia. However, its specificity for dementia could be lower, as deficits other than those of pure memory might account for poor performance in this difficult and effortful task. Cued recall is supposed to allow a better distinction between poor memory due to concurrent factors and impairments related to the neurodegenerative process. The available cued recall tests suffer from a ceiling effect. This is a prospective, longitudinal study aiming to assess the utility of a new memory test based on cued recall that avoids the ceiling effect in the early diagnosis of Alzheimers disease (AD). Twenty-five patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), 22 probable AD patients (NINCDS-ADRDA) at a mild stage, 22 elderly patients with subjective memory complaints (SMC) and 38 normal age-matched controls took part in the study. The patients underwent a thorough cognitive evaluation and the recommended screening procedure for the diagnosis of dementia. All patients were re-examined 12–18 months later. A newly devised delayed cued recall test using semantic cues (The RI48 Test) was compared with three established memory tests: the Ten Word-List Recall from CERAD, the Doors and the Shapes Tests from The Doors and People Test Battery. Forty-four % of the MCI patients fulfilled criteria for probable AD at follow-up. The RI48 Test classified correctly 88% of the MCI and SMC participants and was the best predictor of the status of MCI and mild AD as well as the outcome of the MCI patients. Poor visual memory was the second best predictor of those MCI patients who evolved to AD. A cued recall test which avoids the ceiling effect is at least as good as the delayed free recall tests in the early detection of AD.  相似文献

We sought to develop and evaluate a composite memory score from the neuropsychological battery used in the Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI). We used modern psychometric approaches to analyze longitudinal Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test (RAVLT, 2 versions), AD Assessment Schedule - Cognition (ADAS-Cog, 3 versions), Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), and Logical Memory data to develop ADNI-Mem, a composite memory score. We compared RAVLT and ADAS-Cog versions, and compared ADNI-Mem to RAVLT recall sum scores, four ADAS-Cog-derived scores, the MMSE, and the Clinical Dementia Rating Sum of Boxes. We evaluated rates of decline in normal cognition, mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and AD, ability to predict conversion from MCI to AD, strength of association with selected imaging parameters, and ability to differentiate rates of decline between participants with and without AD cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) signatures. The second version of the RAVLT was harder than the first. The ADAS-Cog versions were of similar difficulty. ADNI-Mem was slightly better at detecting change than total RAVLT recall scores. It was as good as or better than all of the other scores at predicting conversion from MCI to AD. It was associated with all our selected imaging parameters for people with MCI and AD. Participants with MCI with an AD CSF signature had somewhat more rapid decline than did those without. This paper illustrates appropriate methods for addressing the different versions of word lists, and demonstrates the additional power to be gleaned with a psychometrically sound composite memory score.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) represents a transitional state between normal aging and dementia. However, there is inconsistent opinion as to the validity of subjective memory complaints as a criterion for diagnosis. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to examine the potential significance of applying a short memory questionnaire in the assessment of Chinese subjects with MCI and early dementia. METHODS: Three hundred and six ambulatory Chinese subjects were recruited. Each participant completed a short memory questionnaire. They were also assessed with the Chinese versions of the mini-mental state examination (CMMSE), Alzheimer's disease assessment scale-cognitive subscale (ADAS-Cog), category verbal fluency test (CVFT) and span tests. Severity of cognitive impairment was evaluated using the Clinical Dementia Rating (CDR); subjects with CDR 0.5 were further classified into MCI not demented (MCIND) and MCI possible incipient dementia (MCIID) depending on the subscale scores of CDR. RESULTS: An increasing frequency of memory complaints with increasing CDR was observed (Kruskal Wallis test, chi square = 21.29, df 3, p < 0.001). With a cutoff of 3 or more memory complaints, the memory questionnaire demonstrated a sensitivity of 65.3% and 70.4% in identifying subjects with incipient and early dementia respectively. Significant associations between memory complaints and most cognitive test performance were found (Spearman's correlations, p < 0.01). Logistic regression analysis revealed that educational level, the memory questionnaire, ADAS-Cog total and delayed recall scores were significant predictors of MCIID status. CONCLUSIONS: The findings suggested that a short memory questionnaire is useful in the screening of MCI, particularly in subjects who already present with subtle functioning disturbances. Subjective memory complaints were significant correlated with objective performance of memory functions, reflecting the usefulness of memory complaints in the assessment of MCI.  相似文献

OBJECTIVES AND METHODS: We investigated the association of serum dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S) levels with dementia of Alzheimer's type (DAT) and impairment in selected cognitive domains (memory, language, attention and working memory) in 158 patients (75.5+/-6.7 years, 46 men) with first-diagnosed probable DAT and in 158 age- and sex-matched controls. As secondary goal, we evaluated whether DHEA-S baseline levels were associated with cumulative 6-year mortality. RESULTS: A negative correlation between DHEA-S levels and age was observed (R=-0.25, p<0.001). Age-stratified analysis did not show significant differences of DHEA-S levels between DAT patients and controls. No significant association was found between DHEA-S levels and impairment in selected cognitive domains. Cox regression analysis showed that baseline DHEA-S levels were not associated with cumulative 6-year mortality. CONCLUSIONS: In a sample of newly-diagnosed DAT patients, we did not find significant association between presence of DAT or impairment in cognitive domains and DHEA-S levels; baseline DHEA-S levels are not associated with cumulative mortality in patients and controls.  相似文献

CONTEXT: The likelihood of conversion to Alzheimer disease (AD) in mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and the "optimal" early markers of conversion need to be established. OBJECTIVES: To evaluate conversion rates to AD in subtypes of MCI and to identify neuropsychological measures most predictive of the time to conversion. DESIGN: Patients were followed up semiannually and controls annually. Subtypes of MCI were determined by using demographically adjusted regression norms on neuropsychological tests. Survival analysis was used to identify the most predictive neuropsychological measures. SETTING: Memory disorders clinic. PARTICIPANTS: One hundred forty-eight patients reporting memory problems and 63 group-matched controls. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURE: A consensus diagnosis of probable AD. RESULTS: At baseline, 108 patients met criteria for amnestic MCI: 87 had memory plus other cognitive domain deficits and 21 had pure memory deficits. The mean duration of follow-up for the 148 patients was 46.6 +/- 24.6 months. In 3 years, 32 (50.0%) of 64 amnestic-"plus" and 2 (10.0%) of 20 "pure" amnestic patients converted to AD (P = .001). In 148 patients, of 5 a priori predictors, the percent savings from immediate to delayed recall on the Selective Reminding Test and the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-Revised Digit Symbol Test were the strongest predictors of time to conversion. From the entire neuropsychological test battery, a stepwise selection procedure retained 2 measures in the final model: total immediate recall on the Selective Reminding Test (odds ratio per 1-point decrease, 1.10; 95% confidence interval, 1.05-1.14; P < .0001) and Digit Symbol Test coding (odds ratio, 1.06; 95% confidence interval, 1.01-1.11; P = .01). The combined predictive accuracy of these 2 measures for conversion by 3 years was 86%. CONCLUSIONS: Mild cognitively impaired patients with memory plus other cognitive domain deficits, rather than those with pure amnestic MCI, constituted the high-risk group. Deficits in verbal memory and psychomotor speed/executive function abilities strongly predicted conversion to AD.  相似文献

Cognitive functioning was compared in elderly patients with schizophrenia, elderly patients with probable Alzheimer's disease (AD), and matched healthy controls using a brief neuropsychological battery. Both schizophrenia and AD patients demonstrated marked impairment as compared to controls, with the profile of neuropsychological deficits in both disorders appearing remarkably similar. Only visual confrontation naming, verbal delayed recall, and rate of forgetting (i.e. savings score) significantly differentiated between the two patient groups, with AD patients showing poorer overall recall and more rapid forgetting of verbal information over delay. In addition, schizophrenia subjects showed a significantly greater deficit in visual confrontation naming than the AD group. The relationship of neuropsychological function and clinical symptoms of schizophrenia subjects was also examined. Results showed that word list learning, delayed recall, and rate of forgetting correlated most strongly with positive and negative symptoms. Recent neuropathological studies have indicated abnormalities in specific subfields of the hippocampal formation in schizophrenia that are also severely affected in AD. Though the specific histopathology of the two disorders differs, abnormalities in the common sites may underlie the common neuropsychological profile.  相似文献

Patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) typically present with memory complaints, but may have mild deficits in other cognitive domains. We compared the neuropsychological profiles of a series of consecutive MCI patients (n = 116) with a control group of healthy elderly subjects (n = 63). The presence of a memory deficit on delayed recall was consistent in the MCI sample, as it was an inclusion criterion in the study. Impairment on immediate recall was present in 62.6% of the patients on paragraph recall of the logical memory test and in 63.1% of the patients on the word paired-associate learning test. Remarkably, patients with MCI frequently had deficits in cognitive domains beyond memory. As much as 68.7% of the patients had deficits in temporal orientation, 30.2% had deficits in semantic fluency, 33.7% in the Token test, 23.4% in calculation, and 23.9% in motor initiative. If detailed neuropsychological testing is performed, the majority of MCI patients will have deficits in cognitive domains other than memory.  相似文献

OBJECTIVES: This prospectively designed longitudinal study assesses prevalence, incidence and prognosis of depressive symptoms among cognitively normal elderly volunteers compared with patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), dementia of Alzheimer type (DAT), and vascular dementia (VAD). Possible relationships between depressive symptoms, cognitive performance, disease types, and effects of antidepressant treatment were analyzed. METHODS: Two hundred and ninety four subjects exhibiting different levels of cognitive performance were admitted to this study. Demographics, cardiovascular and neurodegenerative risk factors, together with measures of neuropsychological test performance, were obtained at sequential visits. Depressive symptoms were selectively treated with antidepressant medications. RESULTS: One hundred and forty six subjects with normal cognition, 19 subjects with MCI, 42 patients with DAT, and 32 patients with VAD were followed for a mean of 3.5 years. With the passage of time, there were trends showing prevalence of depressive symptoms to decrease among DAT and to increase among VAD patients. VAD patients exhibited the highest incidences of new-onset depressive symptoms, followed in incidence by DAT and MCI groups. Depressive symptoms among VAD and MCI patients were more persistent and refractory to antidepressant medications than for DAT patients. Trends suggested that antidepressant treatment might benefit MCI and VAD subjects more than DAT patients. Motivationally related depressive symptoms accounted for major components of elevated Hamilton depression rating scale scores. CONCLUSIONS: Depressive symptoms among DAT patients have higher rates of spontaneous resolution, without requiring intensive drug treatment, than among VAD patients in whom depressive symptoms are more persistent and refractory to drug treatment. Early depressive symptoms among subjects with MCI may represent a preclinical sign and should be considered as a risk factor for impending DAT or VAD among the elderly.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To determine the conversion rates to dementia in patients diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) thought to be caused by incipient Alzheimer's disease (MCI-AD) or with MCI with features of vascular disease (MCI-Vas). METHODS: On the basis of patient history, neurocognitive, neurological and MRI evaluation, 99 patients were diagnosed with MCI-AD and 35 with MCI-Vas. Conversion to dementia over an average of a 2.4 +/- 1.8-year period was determined. RESULTS: Over the follow-up period, 44% converted to dementia, 51.5% remained classified as MCI, and 4.5% were reclassified as cognitively normal. The conversion rate to dementia was significantly faster at 3 years for the MCI-AD (50.5%) than for the MCI-Vas group (25.7%). The neuropsychological test found to best differentiate converters from non-converters was the Fuld-OME, a measure of learning and recall. Age, education, gender or APOE epsilon4 allele frequency did not differentiate converters from non-converters. CONCLUSIONS: MCI-AD and MCI-Vas are clinically meaningful subtypes of MCI that may convert to dementia at different rates. Prospective studies on larger subsets of MCI patients are required to confirm these findings.  相似文献
