Summary Intraluminal duodenal diverticulum, or windsock web of the duodenum, is a rare congenital abnormality. It is frequently associated with other congenital abnormalities and when seen roentgenographically has an unmistakable appearance. Patients frequently present with vague abdominal complaints suggesting partial obstruction or peptic ulcer disease. Only rarely does the abnormality present with acute pancreatitis. The possibility of this entity should be considered when the other more common causes of pancreatitis have been ruled out. The web must be surgically corrected to prevent recurrence of the pancreatitis.  相似文献

A case of gastrointestinal complaints with a long history due to an intraduodenal diverticulum is described. The patient had a gastric resection and a cholecystectomy before the correct diagnosis could be made by an intravenous cholangiography.  相似文献

Intraluminal duodenal diverticuli are rare. They usually present with obstruction; presentation with GI bleeding is very rare. We report a 51-year-old man who presented with melena after NSAID intake; the diverticulum was excised surgically.  相似文献

An intraluminal esophageal diverticulum (IED) is an uncommon entity defined as a double-layered mucosal pouch lying within the lumen of the esophagus. Its characteristic radiological finding is an intraluminal barium collection surrounded by a radiolucent halo. True IED, which is different from a transient radiological artifact, has not been previously reported in the international literature. This article describes the first case of true IED. Differential diagnosis between a true lesion and a transient flow artifact on barium meal is discussed.  相似文献

Intraluminal duodenal diverticulum is a recognised but rare cause of acute pancreatitis. This patient had three attacks of pancreatitis, each requiring a stay in hospital, within a four month period. The apex of the diverticulum was incised endoscopically, whereupon peas and food debris gushed from the incision site. The patient has had no further symptoms in the 12 months since the endoscopic procedure.  相似文献

The intraluminal diverticulum of the duodenum is a rare disease. Up to now about 50 cases were described. The case in question is a saccate evagination of the duodenal mucous membrane near Vater's papilla. The diverticulum lies within the duodenal lumen and inside and outside it is coated by duodenal mucous membrane. The clinical symptomatology is unspecific. As a rule, the diagnosis is made roentgenologically by a gastrointestinal passage. In the present case the diverticulum contained gallstones and could be represented by an intravenous cholangiography. This was conditioned by the position of the papilla in the diverticulum.  相似文献

Summary The sixth reported case of duodenal diverticulitis diagnosed preoperatively is presented. A review of the literature indicates that most duodenal diverticula are asymptomatic and require little special management. Rarely, acute inflammation can develop, and duodenal diverticulitis must be included in the differential diagnosis of all acute upper abdominal conditions, especially in the radiographic differential of emphysematous cholecystitis and retroperitoneal emphysema.  相似文献

An example of intraluminal diverticulum and another of choledochocele are reported. They both presented as abdominal emergencies in adult life, and the conditions are readily shown on barium studies.  相似文献
