Background: The glycomics field has made great advancements in the last decade due to technologies for their synthesis and analysis including carbohydrate microarrays. Accordingly, databases for glycomics research have also emerged and been made publicly available by many major institutions worldwide. Objective: This review introduces these and other useful databases on which new methods for drug discovery can be developed. Methods: The scope of this review covers current documented and accessible databases and resources pertaining to glycomics. These were selected with the expectation that they may be useful for drug discovery research. Results/conclusion: There is a plethora of glycomics databases that have much potential for drug discovery. This may seem daunting at first but this review helps to put some of these resources into perspective. Additionally, some thoughts on how to integrate these resources to allow more efficient research are presented.  相似文献

目的:分析中国人民解放军第九五医院精神药品用药情况,指导精神药品的合理使用。方法:选取2002年全年精神药品处方,以限定日剂量(DDD)和药物利用指数(DUI)为指标的分析方法,进行用药分析。结果:12种精神药品中,8种药物的DUI<1.0,4种>1.0。结论:我院精神药品使用基本合理,部分用药需引起重视。  相似文献

This paper demonstrates how compilation of medical and drug code lists for outcomes or exposures of interest for studies using primary care databases can be carried out efficiently using Stata. Introduction and Aims. The false consensus effect (FCE) is the tendency for people to assume that others share their attitudes and behaviours to a greater extent than they actually do. The FCE has been demonstrated for a range of health behaviours, including substance use. The study aimed to explore the relationship between elite athlete's engagement in recreational drug use and their consensus estimates (the FCE) and to determine whether those who engage in the behaviour overestimate the use of others around them. Design and Method. The FCE was investigated among 974 elite Australian athletes who were classified according to their drug use history. Results. Participants tended to report that there was a higher prevalence of drug use among athletes in general compared with athletes in their sport, and these estimates appeared to be influenced by participants' drug use history. While overestimation of drug use by participants was not common, this overestimation also appeared to be influenced by athletes' drug use history. Discussion and Conclusions. The results suggest that athletes who have a history of illicit drug use overestimate the prevalence of drug use among athletes. Public domain repositories of compound structures and activity data are indispensable tools for many aspects of pharmaceutical research, especially in academic environments. Such databases provide essential resources for structure-activity data mining and the evaluation of chemoinformatics and drug design methods. They are also important to support scientific interactions between commercial and academic environments. This editorial highlights two major public domain compound data repositories, BindingDB and ChEMBL, which have different origins. BindingDB has evolved in an academic setting (and continues to be developed there) and ChEMBL in a biotechnology environment. The ChEMBL database is now maintained and further developed at the European Bioinformatics Institute Outstation of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory. These databases mostly contain structures and activity data taken from the scientific literature, covering different stages of compound exploration and optimization efforts, and provide a substantial body of complementary compound activity information. Together with PubChem bioassays, ChEMBL and BindingDB provide the foundation of compound data analysis in the public domain.  相似文献

目的 :对中药引起的不良反应进行统计分析 ,为临床使用中药提供参考。方法 :对 1 998~2 0 0 2年间国内主要医药期刊报道的中药不良反应2 60例进行数据收集分析。结果 :中药引起的不良反应涉及的品种较广 ,ADR发生率以注射剂最多(占 60 .4% ) ,过敏反应最为常见 (占 5 2 .7% )。结论 :加强中药ADR的宣传 ,合理使用中药 ,尽量避免或减少ADR的发生。  相似文献
