中美联合培养眼视光学博士研究生的探索与启示

温州医学院与美国新英格兰视光学院联合培养眼视光学博士项目实施以来,已经取得了良好的成效.这个项目的成功源于合作双方始终贯彻了优势互补的办学思路,并在学制体系的优势互补、课程体系的优势互补、师资与办学条件的互补等方面进行了有益的探索.     

物理学传统教学与多媒体教学优势互补探析

针对物理学多媒体教学和传统教学存在的优势与不足,结合高校教师的教学实践,对传统教学与多媒体教学优势互补问题进行了初步讨论,力求将传统教学与多媒体教学有机地结合起来,实现这两者的优势互补,取得更好的教学效果。     

中西医结合优势互补原则刍议

目的:探讨中西方医学结合的优势互补原则,以期提高人类抗御疾病的能力,及临床疗效的进一步提高。方法:试从探讨中西方医学对人体生命活动的认知方式出发,阐述两种医学各自的优势,优势互补的必要性,及临床治疗方案优势互补的主要原则。结论:二者优势互补的结合是人类抗御疾病的必然选择;二者的优势互补的原则应以临床治疗上的结合为主。具体原则为,一是两大医学流派各自要扬长避短,优势互补;二是临床需结合治疗疾病时,治疗方案的制定组合应有机、合理。     

中西医结合的方式及其整体性和层次性

中西医结合的正确方式是优势互补。这种结合，有整体性和层次性。整体上，是指在总体上主要表现为中医哲学思路与西医科学技术优势互补。层次性，是指在哲学思路、基础理论、技术和药物等层面上，分别是中医思路和西医思路、中医基础理论和西医基础理论、中医技术和西医技术、中药和西药优势互补，作为主体的医生要学习中西医学。     

关于形态学多媒体教学的思考

针对传统教学模式和教学方法已不能满足现代形态学教学要求的实际，分析了多媒体在形态学教学中的地位、作用与不足，提出了各种教学模式优势互补的建议。

近几年,教育界兴起了集体备课热潮,一方面它可以集中大家的智慧提高教学质量;另一方面,也可以把现代教育理论与教学实践紧密结合在一起,营造了优势互补、集思广益的良好氛围.

对《中西医结合内科学》的教学体会

《中西医结合内科学》是一门重要的临床学科,体现了中医内科学与西医内科学二者之间兼容并蓄、相互渗透、相互结合、优势互补的特点。因此该课程的教学方式应与其他课程有所不同。现将笔者的点滴教学体会总结如下。     

Programs developed from concerns for women in medicine.

Since the Medical College of Pennsylvania, formerly the Woman's Medical College of Pennsylvania, became coeducational in 1969, there has been a continued effort to maintain the commitment of the institution to its heritage of women in medicine. An office has the role of coordinating and stimulating the establishment and maintenance of programs relevant to women in medicine throughout the institution. These programs are now available to men as well but particularly serve women's needs. They include the Summer Premedical Program, the Summer Health Policy Program, a restraining program for inactive physicians, a demonstration child care project, archives and special collections related to women in medicine, a women in medicine oral history project, and a bibliography of the literature on women physicians. The Medical College of Pennsylvania will continue its interests in the present and future needs of women physicians.     

武警部队卫生干部晋职培训课程设置探讨

自2004年起,武警医学院连续承担了20期卫生专业技术干部晋职培训工作,共培训人员1800余人次。经过四年多的实践,现已逐步形成了一套较为全面、切合学员实际需要的课程体系,普遍受到培训学员的欢迎。     

Jefferson Medical College Student Model Utilization Review Committee.

A Student Model Utilization Review Committee Project is in progress at Jefferson Medical College. Students participate in the program for 90 minutes during the six weeks of their clerkship in family medicine at the university hospital. Information collected from participants and controls before and after the program indicates that the experimental group has greater knowledge and more positive attitudes about utilization review and cost control in the health care field than do the controls. Students express positive feelings about the program. More importantly, one year later, as seniors, those in the experimental group demonstrated clinical behavior which was more consistent with the objectives of the program than other students. These results have led the Department of Family Medicine to incorporate the utilization review program into its formal curriculum beginning in the 1979-1980 academic year.     

Alberta college developing audit system to monitor physician skills.

Within 10 years the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta hopes to have an audit program in place to monitor the clinical skills of all physicians. The decision to develop an audit program resulted from a college-sponsored survey which indicated that many Albertans were surprised and concerned to learn that physician audits did not already exist.     

Maternal serum alphafetoprotein screening. University Medical Center.

University Medical Center in Jacksonville initiated a screening program for maternal serum alphafetoprotein (MSAFP) in October 1987. Women with both high and low values were recalled for testing. During the first two years, neural tube and other birth defects including cystic hygroma and gastroschisis were detected. No chromosomal abnormalities were found. The program meets the recommendation of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology to offer MSAFP testing to all pregnant women. Pregnant women in other areas of Florida could receive services through similar programs.     

A protocol for program evaluation.

In May 1975 the Center for Educational Development, College of Medicine, University of Illinois at the Medical Center, conducted a workshop titled, "Evaluation in the Health Professions." Five tracks were offered at the workshop and one focused on program evaluation. The 12 participants from this track worked on their respective projects for four-and-one-half days from an earlier version of the protocol presented in this article. Much of the workshop was tape recorded, and this article is the result of reviewing the tapes and recording the problems that were encountered with the original version of the protocol for program evaluation.     

Standards for Approval of Hospitals for Graduate Training

The assessment program for approval of hospitals for training in specialties has been augmented by survey visits. Surveyors for the Canadian Council on Hospital Accreditation have acted on behalf of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and have assisted in the formulation of standard criteria for evaluation of teaching programs. Areas where considerable variation in program exists and where further standardization might profitably be developed are suggested. It is recommended that periodic on-the-site visits be made to all specialty training hospitals. Standards should be further elucidated to guide teachers, students and Royal College surveyors alike. It is emphasized that standards cannot be used to assess the calibre of teaching and learning, but can be employed to assist in evaluating the teachings and learning media that are likely to produce good (or poor) results.     

New centre treats MDs whose careers are in shambles because of sex abuse.

A new treatment centre in North Dakota specializes in treating professionals whose careers are in tatters because they have sexually abused patients or clients. The program was founded by a doctor whose own licence was revoked because of sexual abuse, and its clinical program director is a Canadian. It is designed to help professionals come to terms with sexual addictions in whatever form they occur. Dr. Larry Ohlhauser, registrar of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta, says the college will consider treatment programs for sexual addiction as a starting point for beginning the reinstatement process for a doctor whose licence has been revoked, but it must be convinced there will be no recurrence before a licence would be reissued.     

Harm-reduction strategies weapon of choice in BC's battle with drug addiction.

British Columbia, which holds the dubious distinction of being the country's heroin capital, has introduced a number of programs in an attempt to reduce the number of drug-overdose deaths. A BC coroner who headed a provincial government task force into overdose fatalities in 1994 has recommended a number of harm-reduction strategies such as needle exchanges to reduce the negative consequences associated with illicit drug use. In addition, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia is a world leader in methadone maintenance, with 1800 patients and 250 physicians registered in the program.     

The Lehigh--Medical College of Pennsylvania six-year B.A.-M.D. program.

Lehigh University and the Medical College of Pennsylvania have developed a program in which selected high school students are admitted directly to medical school. The students spend two years at the university completing the premedical basic sciences and the required humanities and social sciences for the bachelor's degree. Students may choose to extend the two-year university phase to three or four years. Science credit is given by the university for medical school courses, and the student graduates with a B.A. degree after four years and an M.D. degree after six years.
