Background Photoaged skin can be treated with retinoids, which are natural and synthetic vitamin A derivatives. However, these are photounstable and can cause skin irritation, which is a major limitation in their use in general cosmetics. Retinyl retinoate, which is an ester of all‐trans retinoic acid (RA) and all‐trans retinol, has reduced toxicity due to blocking of the carboxyl end group of RA and higher skin regeneration activity than retinol. Objectives To assess the efficacy of a photostable retinyl retinoate in treating women over 30 years old with periorbital wrinkles. Methods We conducted two clinical studies with a total of 46 Korean women with periorbital wrinkles, who were not pregnant, nursing or undergoing any concurrent therapy. In the first clinical study, the efficacy of retinyl retinoate was compared with placebo. Twenty‐four patients completed a 12‐week trial of 0·06% retinyl retinoate applied twice daily to one side of the face and a placebo applied to the other side. In the second clinical study, the efficacy of retinyl retinoate was compared with retinol. Twenty‐two patients completed an 8‐week trial of 0·06% retinyl retinoate applied twice daily to one side of the face and 0·075% retinol applied to the other side. Efficacy was based on a global photodamage score, photographs, and image analysis using replicas and visiometer analysis (Skin‐Visiometer SV 600; Courage & Khazaka, Cologne, Germany) every 4 weeks. The standard wrinkle and roughness parameters used in assessing skin by visiometer were calculated and statistically analysed. Results The retinyl retinoate‐treated wrinkles improved compared with wrinkles treated with placebo or retinol, as assessed by both the investigators and the subjects. Also, skin replica analysis indicated significant improvements in retinyl retinoate‐treated skin in both studies, especially in average roughness. Conclusions Retinyl retinoate applied twice daily was significantly more effective than a placebo or retinol in treating periorbital wrinkles. Importantly, no severe side‐effects were observed.  相似文献

This study evaluated the safety and efficacy of biodegradable microstructure patches composed of cross‐linked hyaluronic acid (CLHA). A primary skin irritation test showed that the CLHA patches were not an irritant, whereas a clinical study showed that application of single CLHA patches significantly improved skin hydration at the periorbital region for 3 days and at the nasolabial fold for 6 days. Patch application also improved superficial wrinkles at the periorbital region for 3 days and at the nasolabial fold for 1 day. The absence of side effects indicated that application of these CLHA microstructure patches is both safe and convenient for moisturization and anti‐wrinkle effects.  相似文献

Background

Tranexamic acid is used to treat pigmented disorder in dermatology for a long time however there are limited data for effectiveness of tranexamic acid for rejuvenation and improvement of wrinkle. Here we want to find the effectiveness of tranexamic acid as mesotherapy in improvement of periorbital wrinkle in a clinical trial study.

Methods

Patients with melasma who were treated with 4 session of tranexamic acid mesotherapy at intervals on 1 week were evaluated with Visioface device before starting and 1 month after last course of treatment. The outcomes including volume, area, area percent, and depth were measured by Visioface device.

Results

Mean of periorbital wrinkles volume before and after procedure were 89 271 and 74 639 pixel3 (px3), respectively. Very significant difference with p-value of <0.001 was detected at volume of patient wrinkles before and after treatment. Moreover, the mean of area (and area percent) of their periorbital wrinkles before and after therapeutic method were 8481 Px3 (1.131%) and 7184 Px3 (0.646%), respectively, with significant differences (both have p-value of <0.001).Mean of periorbital wrinkles depth at before and after treatment were 9.8 and 9.6, respectively, without remarkable difference (p-value was 0.257).

Conclusion

Tranexamic acid mesotherapy significantly leads to reduced volume and area of wrinkles. Injection of tranexamic acid as mesotherapy seems to be effective in improvement of periorbital wrinkling.  相似文献

Abstract

Introduction: Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has been used for rapid healing and tissue regeneration in many fields of medicine. This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of PRP application procedure on human facial skin. Methods: PRP was applied thrice at 2-week intervals on the face of ten healthy volunteers. It was applied to individual's forehead, malar area, and jaw by a dermaroller, and injected using a 27-gauge injector into the wrinkles of crow's feet. Participants were asked to grade on a scale from 0 to 5 for general appearance, skin firmness–sagging, wrinkle state and pigmentation disorder of their own face before each PRP procedure and 3 months after the last PRP procedure. While volunteers were evaluating their own face, they were also assessed by three different dermatologists at the same time by the same five-point scale. Results: There was statistically significant difference regarding the general appearance, skin firmness-sagging and wrinkle state according to the grading scale of the patients before and after three PRP applications. Whereas there was only statistically significant difference for the skin firmness–sagging according to the assessment of the dermatologists. Conclusion: PRP application could be considered as an effective procedure for facial skin rejuvenation.  相似文献

Background The periorbital area is a key wrinkle‐prone region, where the first signs of aging usually appear. Aims To demonstrate the ability of new anti‐aging moisturizing products to improve overall smoothness and wrinkle depth appearance in the periorbital region via the Fast Optical in vivo Topometry of Human Skin (FOITS). Methods Two double‐blind, randomized, controlled, split‐face studies (n = 42, Study 1; n = 35, Study 2) were conducted in women 30–70 years old with moderate to distinct periorbital wrinkles. Subjects applied 0.5 g of individual products to half their face twice daily for 4 weeks. Four test products containing niacinamide, the peptides Pal‐KT and Pal‐KTTKS, and carnosine were used and included a daytime SPF 30 lotion also containing antioxidants, a night cream, an eye cream also containing caffeine, and a wrinkle treatment containing retinyl propionate. The wrinkle treatment was only tested in Study 2. The FOITS technique was used to measure changes in periorbital Ra (mean roughness) and Rz (average maximum roughness) at 2 and 4 weeks. Results In Study 1, the daytime SPF 30 lotion, night cream, and eye cream significantly improved crow’s feet smoothness after 4 weeks relative to no treatment. After 4 weeks, the daytime SPF 30 lotion and night cream, but not the eye cream, were significantly better than no treatment at improving Rz. In Study 2, the night cream, eye cream, and wrinkle treatment, but not the daytime SPF 30 lotion, significantly improved both Ra and Rz after 4 weeks. To increase power and precision of estimates, a meta‐analysis was performed; the pooled data showed all three products were significantly better than no treatment at improving Ra and Rz after 4 weeks. Conclusions Four weeks of treatment with these products was shown to improve the smoothness of periorbital skin and to reduce the apparent depth of larger wrinkles.  相似文献

Hyaluronic acid (HA) has an immediate volumizing effect, due to its strong water‐binding potential, and stimulates fibroblasts, causing collagen synthesis, with short‐ and long‐term effects on wrinkle improvement. We investigated the efficacy and safety of HA microneedle patches for crow's feet wrinkles. Using a randomized spilt‐face design, we compared microneedle patches with a topical application containing the same active ingredients. We enrolled 34 Korean female subjects with mild to moderate crow's feet wrinkles. The wrinkle on each side of the subject's face was randomly assigned to a HA microneedle patch or HA essence application twice a week for 8 weeks. Efficacy was evaluated at weeks 2, 4, and 8. Skin wrinkles were measured as average roughness using replica and PRIMOS. Skin elasticity was assessed using a cutometer. Two independent blinded dermatologists evaluated the changes after treatment using the global visual wrinkle assessment score. Subjects assessed wrinkles using the subject global assessment score. Skin wrinkles were significantly reduced and skin elasticity significantly increased in both groups, although improvement was greater in the patch group at week 8 after treatment. In the primary and cumulative skin irritation tests, the HA microneedle patch did not induce any skin irritation. The HA microneedle patch is more effective than the HA essence for wrinkle improvement and is a safe and convenient without skin irritation.  相似文献

Background

Periorbital hyperpigmentation (POH) is a common disorder in the patients. Women are more upset with POH in compare to males. Several methods have been used to the POH, with different efficacy and adverse reactions.

Aim

The aim of the present study is to evaluate the efficacy of microneedle fractional radiofrequency (MRF) in treating POH.

Methods

So, nine patients with POH and the age range of 25–57 years, were treated by microneedle fractional radiofrequency (MRF). The outcome was evaluated via biometric assessment. The colorimeter was used to assess the skin lightness. Mexameter was used for evaluated the amount of Melanin in the periorbital skin. Cutometer was used for skin elasticity assessment. The skin ultrasound imaging system was utilized to estimate the epidermis and dermis diameter and density. Furthermore, Visioface was applied to assessed the skin color and wrinkles. Also patient's satisfaction and physician's assessment were evaluated.

Results

The results displayed that the periorbital skin lightness 32.38% ± 5.67 and elasticity of the R2: 40.29% ± 8.18, R5: 39.03 ± 5.38 and R7: 42.03% ± 14.16 were significantly improved after treatment (p < 0.05). Also the melanin content of the skin was decreased (49.41% ± 9.12). The skin layers were denser in the dermis and also in the epidermis (skin density: 30.21% ± 10.16 and skin thickness: 41.12% ± 13.21) (p < 0.05). The results revealed the decrease in the percent change of the skin color (30.34% ± 9.30) and wrinkle (area: 25.84% ± 6.43 and volume: 30.66% ± 8.12) (p < 0.05). Similarly, the physician and patient's assessment were confirmed the obtained outcomes.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the microneedle RF technique is practicable, effective and safe method for periorbital dark circles treatment.  相似文献

Background: All‐trans‐retinoic acid (RA) and all‐trans‐retinol (ROL) are not widely used as anti‐wrinkle agents due to their irritancy and photo‐stability, respectively. Therefore, the safety and photo‐stability in the development of RA or ROL derivatives have been an important issue. Aim: To identify the efficacy of retinyl retinoate as an anti‐aging agent of cosmetics in treating females over 30 years old with periorbital wrinkles. Methods: The clinical study was a prospective, double‐blind, randomized, and controlled study with a total of 11 Korean women. At every 4 weeks, the effectiveness was assessed with a global photodamage score, photographs, and image analysis using replicas and visiometers. The dermal distance and intensity was also evaluated using Dermascan C. Results: A statistically significant improvement in facial wrinkles (P<0.05) in eleven volunteers was observed in a clinical trial. The successive application of 0.06% retinyl retinoate cream for 3 months showed decreased depth and area of wrinkles in comparison with 0.075% retinol cream. The visual wrinkle improvement and the maximum roughness improvement rate (R2) for retinyl retinoate cream were 22% higher than that of retinol cream after 12 weeks. A statistically significant increase was observed after 8 and 4 weeks for dermal distance and dermal intensity, respectively (P<0.05). Conclusions: Retinyl retinoate had characteristic features of new anti‐aging agents, and effectively improved facial wrinkle conditions.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Skin aging is accompanied by wrinkle formation. At some sites, as the periorbital skin, this is a relatively early phenomenon, variable from one woman to the other and even between the right and left eye. PURPOSE: We tested the effect of a preparation with fucose-rich oligo- and polysaccharide (FROP-3) on periorbital wrinkles (crow's feet) on a team of voluntaries. METHOD: The efficiency of a preparation containing as active principle a fucose-rich polysaccharide in a base-cream for the treatment of temporal periorbital wrinkles on 20 voluntary women was tested as follows: the women applied the cream twice a day for 4 weeks. Negative replicas were taken on the periorbital skin before and after 4 weeks of application of the cream. The results were evaluated by semi-automated morphometry on the plastic replicas and expressed as the 'wrinkle-factor' obtained by multiplying total wrinkle length in millimeters by the average wrinkle width. RESULTS: After 4 weeks of treatment, there was a significant improvement of the periorbital wrinkles for the majority of the voluntary team who tested the cream. On the 29 periocular wrinkles examined 65% showed an improvement at the end of the treatment. In two cases, the improvement was 100% on one eye (disappearance of the crow's feet) and of 75% and 79% on the other eye. On six eyes, there was no significant change after the end of the treatment, and on four eyes a worsening was observed. The age-dependent modifications showed that improvement was independent of age and was the result of individual skin reactions to the cream. The occurrence and the severity of crow's feet is highly individual, and differs from one side of the face to the other for the same person. These strong individual variations explain the highly variable results, not only from one woman to the other but also comparing one side of the face to the other for the same person. CONCLUSION: Under the effect of 4 weeks of treatment with the FROP-3-containing cream, most of the voluntaries had their periorbital wrinkles attenuated and some women showed a total regression of crow's feet on one of their eyes.  相似文献

Background: Forehead wrinkles are the result of contracture of the frontalis muscle and the skin aging process. Currently, hyaluronic acid filler and botulinum toxin are the main materials used for correction of these wrinkles. In addition, polydioxanone (PDO) thread has also been applied for this treatment. Objective: In order to evaluate the efficacy and safety of multi-PDO scaffold in animal and human skin, we tested PDO insertion in rat and mini-pig models and human volunteers with forehead wrinkles. Methods: A stent-shaped multi-PDO scaffold was inserted under the panniculus carnosus of rat dorsal skin and the subcutaneous layer of mini-pig dorsal skin and forehead wrinkles in three human volunteers. Results: Histological analysis at 12 weeks revealed evidence of de novo collagen synthesis, which was consistent with clinical results on photo evaluation. Conclusion: Stent-shaped multi-PDO scaffolds may be another effective and safe treatment modality for reduction of forehead wrinkles.  相似文献

Background: The novel hybrid retinoid, retinyl retinoate, is a synthetic material that was designed to reduce the side effects of retinoic acid and to increase the stability of retinol. The formulation of the retinyl retinoate, however, is required to enhance skin permeation, and thus to increase the anti‐wrinkle effect. Aim: To identify the efficacy of retinyl retinoate microsphere using biodegradable polymer as an anti‐aging agent of cosmetics in treating females over 30 years old with periorbital wrinkles. Methods: The retinyl retinoate microsphere was prepared using the biodegradable polymer; polylactic acid (PLA). We also conducted two clinical studies with a total of 44 Korean women for 12 weeks. In the first clinical study, 20 patients completed a 12‐week trial of cream A [3% PLA‐retinyl retinoate (2%) microsphere] applied twice daily to the face. In the second clinical study, 24 patients completed a 12‐week trial of cream B (0.06% retinyl retinoate) applied twice daily to the face. Efficacy was based on a global photodamage score, photographs, and image analysis using replicas and Visiometers every 4 weeks. Results: The PLA‐retinyl retinoate microsphere was more effective for the permeation of retinyl retinoate than retinyl retinoate in itself. The cream A, which contains 3% PLA‐retinyl retinoate (2%) microsphere, showed a statistically significant improvement in facial wrinkles (P<0.05) in 20 volunteers after only 4 weeks of application in a clinical trial test. The visual wrinkle improvement and the maximum roughness improvement rate (R2) for cream A was 6.05%, 8.03% higher than that of cream B which contains 0.06% retinyl retinoate, after 4 weeks. Conclusion: Retinyl retinoate has a potent anti‐wrinkle activity, and the PLA‐retinyl retinoate microsphere could be a useful cosmeceutical product for anti‐aging purposes.  相似文献

Abstract: To clarify the difference between cutaneous responses to single and repeated barrier disruption, changes of epidermal gene expression were examined by using RT‐PCR. In repeatedly barrier‐disrupted skin, heparanase was specifically up‐regulated in epidermis. In addition, there was a marked decrease in heparan sulfate (HS) chains of perlecan in basement membrane at the dermal–epidermal junction (DEJ) compared with singly disrupted skin. HS chains form a reservoir for heparan sulfate‐binding growth factors. In repeatedly barrier‐disrupted skin, expression of vascular endothelial growth factor‐A (VEGF‐A), an angiogenic factor, was induced in epidermis, whereas thrombospondin‐1 (TSP‐1), an angiogenesis inhibitor, was down‐regulated, and concomitantly blood vessels were elongated and enlarged in dermis. Expression of VEGF‐C, a lymphangiogenesis factor, was augmented in epidermis of repeatedly barrier‐disrupted skin, concomitantly with an increase in the number and size of lymphatic vessels. Topical application of a synthetic heparanase inhibitor, 1‐[4‐(1H‐benzoimidazol‐2‐yl)phenyl]‐3‐[4‐(1H‐benzoimidazol‐2‐yl)phenyl]urea, to skin after barrier disruption significantly suppressed wrinkle formation, degradation of HS chains in the basement membrane, epidermal hyperplasia and the changes of blood and lymphatic vessels. These results suggest that chronic barrier disruption activates heparanase and induces gene expression changes, leading to increased growth factor interaction between epidermis and dermis, and facilitating various cutaneous changes, including wrinkle formation.  相似文献

Background DNA damage as a result of ultraviolet (UV) exposure plays an important role in the progression of cutaneous aging. Both folic acid and creatine have been linked to the process of DNA protection and repair. Aims This study aims to investigate the effects of a commercially available folic acid– and creatine‐containing formulation to fight the clinical signs of premature skin aging. Patients/methods Both in vitro and in vivo home‐in‐use studies using a folic acid– and creatine‐containing formulation were performed aiming to elucidate the efficacy in terms of improvement of skin regeneration, protection from UV‐induced DNA damage (Comet assay), reduction of wrinkle volume, and skin visco‐elasticity. Furthermore, clinical evaluation and photography were carried out to determine the improvement of clinically graded parameters after treatment. Results Cultured full‐thickness epidermal skin models supplemented with folic acid and creatine after epithelial perturbation showed an accelerated skin regeneration compared to untreated control models. Similarly, application of a folic acid– and creatine‐containing formulation significantly improved epidermal turnover in vivo as evidenced by smaller corneocytes derived from the treated sites relative to the vehicle‐treated sides. In addition, topical in vivo application of this formulation significantly protected from UV‐induced DNA lesions, increased skin firmness, and reduced wrinkle volume compared to untreated control areas. Expert grading confirmed a significant decrease of fine and coarse wrinkles in the periocular region as well as overall wrinkles, tactile roughness, and laxity. Conclusions Taken together, these results show that the combination of folic acid and creatine significantly accelerates epidermal skin regeneration in vitro and in vivo. Together with the finding of improved biomechanical skin properties, we conclude that the described topical formulation provides an effective treatment option for (photo)‐aged skin.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study was to determine the duration of the effects of a defined dose of BTX‐A on crow's feet formation wrinkles.

MATERIALS AND METHODS: Twenty‐five patients each received one injection of 12 units of BTX‐A in the orbicularis oculi muscle on both sides of the face. The results were evaluated at 3, 6 and 9 months. Standardized photographs were taken of the wrinkle formations at rest at each step of the 9‐month period following the treatment, and the wrinkles were then rated on photographs by blinded observers. Three‐dimensional (3D) in vivo profilometry was also used to quantify the degree of improvement.

RESULTS: Both the self‐assessments by the patients themselves and the objective assessments of the 3D profilometry study provided similar results, but the independent observer assessment results were slightly more optimistic. There was a statistically significant difference observed between baseline and the evaluations at both 3 and 6 months.

CONCLUSION: BTX‐A is a safe and effective method for treating crow's feet wrinkles. In both the observer assessment and the 3D skin profilometric assessment, a clear improvement was shown at 6 months.  相似文献

Background: Most studies on wrinkle formation have focused on changes in the dermal condition that promote the fixation of transiently formed wrinkles. Little is known about the age‐dependent changes in transient wrinkle formation in response to altered facial expression or the mechanism leading to fixed wrinkle formation. Objective: To clarify the mechanism of wrinkle formation at the forehead, we investigated the factors that influence the severity of transient wrinkling and the relationship of transient with fixed wrinkles, using a newly established method to evaluate transient wrinkle formation. Methods: Transient wrinkles were generated by requesting subjects to gaze in an upward direction. Foreheads of the subjects with or without an upward gaze at a fixed angle were photographed and the severity of wrinkles at the forehead was graded from 0 to 5 in 50 healthy Japanese female volunteers in their 20s, 40s, or 60s. Skin elasticity was measured using a Cutometer®. Frontalis muscle activity and ptosis of the upper eyelid were estimated by measuring movement of the eyebrow during upward gazing and the position of the upper eyelid of the open eye, respectively. Results: Wrinkles formed transiently at the forehead by upward gazing were highly reproducible in each subject. Their severity increased with aging and was highly correlated to that of fixed wrinkles (R=0.81, P<0.001). Therefore, this method appears to be suitable for studying the mechanism of transient wrinkle formation and the relationship between transient and fixed wrinkles at the forehead. The severity of transient wrinkles was correlated with elevation of the eyebrow during upward gazing (R=0.69, P<0.001), but not with dermal elasticity. This suggests that transient wrinkles are induced by increased frontalis muscle activity during upward gazing. Frontalis muscle activation was negatively correlated with upper eyelid position (R=−0.37, P<0.05), which descended with aging, meaning ptosis of the upper eyelid, and negatively correlated with the severity of transient wrinkles induced by upward gazing (R=−0.43, P<0.05). Furthermore, the upper eyelid position was also negatively correlated with the severity of fixed wrinkles (R=−0.44, P<0.05). Conclusion: These results suggest that ptosis of the upper eyelid is associated with increased activation of the frontalis muscle during upward gazing and increased severity of transient and fixed wrinkling at the forehead.  相似文献

BackgroundHyaluronic acid (HA)-based microneedle patch has recently been studied for wrinkle improvement. Cross-linked HA (CLHA) is widely used in dermal fillers. Acetyl hexapeptide-8 (AHP-8) and epidermal growth factor (EGF) are used for cosmetic ingredients.ObjectiveThis study aimed to verify the efficacy of the CLHA/HA-based patch with microstructure (microneedle patch) containing AHP-8 or EGF.MethodsA total of 52 Korean females were enrolled in a double-blind, randomized, controlled, split-face trial. The subjects were divided into 3 groups: (1) microneedle patch alone, (2) microneedle patch/AHP-8, and (3) microneedle patch/EGF. The treatment was applied on the periorbital and nasolabial fold area for 4 hours to completely dissolve the microstructures once per week for 29 days. Evaluations, including photodamage scoring, image analysis with Antera 3D® (Miravex, Ireland), skin hydration measurement, and adverse effect assessments, were performed at each visit.ResultsFifty subjects (96.2%) completed this clinical study. On day 29 after application, statistically significant improvements in wrinkle and skin hydration were observed in all groups (p<0.01). Treatment with microneedle patch/AHP-8 and microneedle patch/EGF showed statistically significant improvements in wrinkle compared with microneedle patch alone (p<0.05). No serious adverse effects were noted.ConclusionCombination of CLHA-based microneedle patch and functional cosmetic ingredients can improve wrinkle with minimal discomfort.  相似文献

Background. Treatment of wrinkles has become an increasing problem for dermatologists. Hyaluronic acid is a component of the family of glycosaminoglycans (GAGS, substances known for their property of retaining water), that significantly decreases with aging and in wrinkles. A new technique that uses a specific pulsed electromagnetic field, electrorydesis, has been introduced in the treatment of wrinkles associated with aging. The treatment is based on the reported in vitro effects of specific electromagnetic fields on fibroblast cultures (e.g., an increase in DNA synthesis and in the production of collagen and presumably also of GAGS). Methods. The in vivo effects of the electromagnetic field on aged skin (3 subjects aged 50, 56 and 60 years), with particular focus on the ultrastructural modifications and GAGS amount before and after the treatment, were evaluated by electron microscope. Results. The ultrastructural study (tissue stained with al-cian blue) showed after treatment a significant increase (p < 0.005) of the electron-dense granules (corresponding to hyaluronic acid), located in collagen elastic fibers, and in the soluble matrix. This presumably leads to subsequent edema that was clinically evident after the treatment. Conclusions. These data suggest that the increased levels of GAGS and the subsequent edema of the dermis could explain at least in part the clinical changes observed after electrorydesis treatment (e.g., swelling and “disappearance” of the wrinkle).  相似文献

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: In this preliminary prospective study, we evaluated the efficacy and safety of nonablative wrinkle treatment using combined radiofrequency (RF) and optical energy (Polaris). The dual energy technology of Polaris, called ELOS, which stands for electro-optical synergy, uses synchronous pulses of bipolar RF current and pulsed visible light (diode laser) delivered in the same pulse. RF energy 100 J/cm(3), max. laser energy 50 J/cm(2)). Each treatment consisted of two passes over the treatment area using pulsed optical and RF parameters that were determined by the patient's skin phenotype and distribution of target chromophores. The follow-up period was 3 months after the last treatment. RESULTS: Independent scoring of blinded photographs showed a wrinkle score improvement of at least 1 (0 = no improvement, 1 = medium, 2 = good, 3 = excellent improvement) 3 months after the last of six treatment sessions. There was no difference between periorbital and perioral wrinkle reduction. Fifty-eight per cent (14/24) of the subjects reported a notable wrinkle reduction; 16% noted mild to moderate oedema and erythema lasting for no more than 1 day. Scarring or pigmentary changes were not detected. The average pain score was 0.6 (0 = no pain, 5 = intolerable pain). CONCLUSION: Multiple treatments with the Polaris WR produced objective and subjective reduction of periorbital and perioral wrinkles. The occurrence of side-effects and pain was very low. The clinical effect may be caused by matrix coagulation of the deep dermis by the RF and selective thermolysis of blood vessels with the 900 nm diode laser.  相似文献

The clinical characteristics of photodamaged skin, such as coarse and fine wrinkling, can not be quantitatively evaluated from ordinary photographic records. The purpose of this study was to assess the efficacy of glycolic acid (GA) peeling on facial wrinkling, using computer assisted image analysis. This was accomplished with reproducible imaging techniques, which allowed precise repositioning of the subject's face in front of the camera. Two parameters, the change in wrinkle number and the change in wrinkle length were assessed. Although the clinical improvement of wrinkles correlated with both parameters, wrinkle length more precisely reflected the degree of clinical wrinkles, because the wrinkle number appeared to increase as some shallow wrinkles divided into multiple smaller wrinkles during their improvement. Comparison of responses by different age groups showed that the reduction of total wrinkle length was observed in the order of: 50s>30s and 40s>60s>over 70>under 30. The lack of response by subjects over 70 might be due to the nature of their wrinkles being mainly coarse wrinkles rather than fine ones. We next compared the effect of GA by concentration (35, 50 or 70%), but found no significant differences. As the concentration of GA used for treatment was determined by each subject's erythema reaction, our present result suggests that erythema elicited by GA correlates with improvement of wrinkles and that these two phenomena can be induced by a common pathway of GA treatment. This quantitative analysis clearly shows the efficacy and limitation of GA treatment of wrinkles, and might help to disclose the precise mechanisms of GA effects on the skin structure and function.  相似文献
